[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 55833] Lacking support for KDE 4.x addressbooks (akonadi)

2014-01-12 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=55833

Issue is still there in LO 4.1.3.2 from the Ubuntu repos.

The problem is that addressbooks can be local files (vcf format), caldav
ressources or google addressbooks, and different people use different ones as
their standard addressbook (I use google). So the easiest way to implement all
of them would probably be to write a connector to akonadi.

So what exactly is your file system pathname, and what URL are you feeding into
loadComponentFromURL? If your (Unix-style, say) pathname is

  /home/me/somewhere/test#.odt

then the corresponding URL is

  file:///home/me/somewhere/test%23.odt

This problem still exists with printing in landscape; it only turns the

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 73527] New: Calc doesn't print spreadsheet border of Excel spreadsheet

2014-01-12 Thread bugzilla-daemon

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 73527
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Calc doesn't print spreadsheet border of Excel
spreadsheet
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: tomd...@comcast.net
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.1.3.2 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

When I use the "Format Cells" function to set an outline around the
spreadsheet, Calc doesn't print the outline like MS Excel 2000 does.

I have some screen shots to illustrate the issue, which I will attach to this
bug report. The screen shots are of "print preview" windows in both MS Excel
2000 and LibreOffice Calc 4.1.3.2, both running on a 64-bit Windows 8.1 system.

I expect LibreOffice Calc to display and print the outline around the
spreadsheet, in the same way MS Excel does.

Impress slided with gradients in the background are badly exported to .pdf with
tiny white rectangles appearing in output file.

steps to reproduce

- open attached .odp file
- export it as .pdf
- open ouput in PDF reader

Expected behaviour: the blue gradient background in the .pdf should look the
same as in the .odg source.

Current behaviour: tiny white rectangles appear in output file.

issue is present in all LibO releases (from 3.3.0 to 4.2.0 RC1) and affects OOo
and AOO as well.

Background: I wanted to "like" an extension which I've just installed
(http://extensions.libreoffice.org/extension-center/wrap-unwrap-insert-copied-row-or-column-and-paste-value),
but the "like" functionality requires login.

Bug: there's no "sign up" link or instructions on the login page
(http://extensions.libreoffice.org/extension-center/wrap-unwrap-insert-copied-row-or-column-and-paste-value/login_form
and similar). It's unclear how I should sign up for an account in order to like

enhancement requests can be filed using the same bug tracker you used to open
this report.

just take a look at the second dropdown menu in the "Importance" section above
and you will find "enhancement"

maybe this could be better specified in LibO webpages...

Yes, i lave old ~/.libreoffice, and some configs from old .openoffice, but
deleting it not helpful. I will try to search more, because it is interesting
and strange.

Some more things.
1. I create new user, with clean home folder, and this bug not disappear: it
still exist. So it may not depends on per-user configs, but on something in
system.
2. So, i was trying to reproduce my own bug using fully clean install and apply
software (and fonts, etc.) which i currently have. But i can't reproduce. I
have now other system with all software as in buggy system, but not have the
bug. Apply my old config also not discover the bug. So it looks like temporary
minor problem.
3. When bug exist, it is also exist in Apache Openoffice, please see
https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=123996 , but, as with LibO, not
reproduceable by other users.
Thank you so much!

I just built from the git HEAD and I am experiencing no Segfault but another
annoying situation: I can open the Template Manager multiple times but the one
opened last is the only one that is controllable.

Maybe it would be wise to make the Template Manager Dialog modal?

I looked into the
sfx2/source/doc/templatedlg.src
and found the DLG_TEMPLATE_MANAGER to be a ModelessDialog.

But when I change it to ModalDialog I get an empty gray almost fullscreen sized
window I cannot resize and neither close.

Maybe anyone can point me into the right direction or has another idea.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 46635] FILESAVE Endless loop during autosave

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=46635

Regarding the issue described in the previous comment, I did the following test
in a different environment:

As a quick test on my current computer (Windows 7 64Bit, LO 4.1.4.2) I did
this:
- Set autosave to 1 minute
- Check the "save document too" option
- Open a new blank writer document
- Type a few words
- Wait a minute. It created an untitled_1.odt file in the backup directory, and
nothing else
- Typed a few more words
- After a while, the backup file updated. No extra files where created, and LO
doesn't seem to go crazy with I/O either.

Either this issue depend on some specific settings/situations, or it is
platform dependant.

Additionnaly, on a Debian system (with only LO 4.1.3.2) I observe the same
behavior: a single file named untitled_0.odt is created, and is only updated
every minutes or so.

Suspect you have support for assistive technologies checked active. As a result
Efe's Expert Config builds the tables with XAccessible elements which is
extremely slow. We've moved that issue to its own issue of bug 70465, where
your results are consistent. I've added you the the CC there.

Confirming.

Believe this relates to work done to integrate IAccessible2 as alternative to
Java Access Bridge for assistive technology tools support.

In tweaking things, in the 4.2.0 builds, Java is set active to support Java
Access Bridge by default, and the Tools --> Options --> Accessibility "Support
assistive technology" is checked active.

Having the JAB based assistive technology support is of mixed benefit,
simplifies things for folks using an AT, but it imposes JRE overhead of running
the JAB.

Andras's past work on bug 39833 is no longer being honored. Of course in
current builds of master this is mute-as the JAB based support for AT has been
removed and the native IAccessible2 support only activates when an AT is
detected active.

Both the Accessibility support, and the Tools -> Options -> Advanced "Use a
Java runtime environment" checkbox can be unchecked, if there are no remaining
JRE based extensions. E.g. a default installation include the Java based
extension for Calc - Non-linear Problem Solver.

On restart it will come up cleanly. Unfortunately to clear the multiple JRE
required windows you have to kill the soffice.bin process tree (from Task
manager) and then delete at least the "registrymodifications.xcu" from the user
profile--or simply delete the user profile, and allow it to be rebuilt with
default.

Allow LibreOffice to launch once with defaults -- including activation of the
JRE.
The open Tools --> Options --> Accessibility and uncheck "support assistive
technology", and also Tools --> Options --> Advanced and uncheck "Use a Java
runtime environment". Exit from LibreOffice. Launch again and should come up
with no JRE support running. JRE support can be checked active for support of
any other extensions.

It should be made clear on the Get Help pages

raised as bugs (if so, should we use any special tags?), or whether there's
some other preferred way to handle them.

Thanks.

First I wait to pictures appear, then I am moving in document. That itself
takes long time.

Moving up and down with holding down "page up" and "page down" buttons on
keyboard or holding right mouse buttons on slide bar so the pages move up and
down. For example I go to the end with holding "page down" and up holding mouse
button on top of the side bar. Or move up and down with scroll on mouse.

Sometimes works fine , but here and there writer freezes.

4. Selected a table from it from the dropdown menu below "Table"
5. Selected a "Database field"
6. Chose a "Brand" (I decided to use "Avery A4")
7. Chose a "Type" ("C2160 Avery Inkjet Label")
8. Clicked on "New Document"
After I freshly installed the above mentioned version, I got a window, where I
could choose between business and private labels. Then this empty Writer
document without any text in it opened, but only the frames of labels were
visible. Now, after I have closed LO a couple of times to switch the UI
language between German to English and back, I am not even able to open Writer
to create a sheet of labels. It just freezes ... :(

Not really a bug, but a feature request, since the limit is simply hard-coded
in the code. What really odd is that the toolbar has the limit of 72pt, but the
text sidebar panel has 96pt.

Joren/Foss: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/File:BzLifecycleold.png is not
precise about a point. Should it be resolved once all the LO branches which
have the bugs are fixed or just master?
IMHO, it should be all versions or at least the ones which are not EOL.

It's related in that the if you opened the .doc attachment of this bugreport

Hello,

I was trying to test the same bug under WINDOWS XP SP3 when I noticed the the
same disconnection occurs also in LibO 4.2.0 RC1 DRAW. In the attached file, I
put a combined "I", a grouped "I" and an ungrouped "I". You can notice that
only the combined "I" get disconnected.

By the way, I get the same result under WINDOWS.

I don't say that empty comment should persist. But if they don't persist then:
- It should be probably noted in the user help.
- Empty comments should not be re-createable using "undo".

The current state is inconsistent because empty comment don't persists but they
can be re-created later using "undo".

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 73329] StartCenter does not display Personas font colours

2014-01-12 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=73329

On further testing, I found that although the Start Center does not initially
display the font colour, and any subsequent screen invoked by the Start Center,
for example Writer or Calc, you can force the display of colour for the current
Start Center session.

Remove the current Personas: Tools > options > personalization > Plain look do
not use themes, > OK and then
Tool > options > Personalization > Own theme > OK. This will restore the font
colour to that set in the registrymodifications.xcu file.

Restarting LibO with Start Center one needs to repeat the process to display
the Font Colour. Writer, Calc etc. invoked directly always displays the
Personas font colour directly.

Hope this helps .. Peter

Arturs: which LO version do you use?
Last stable one is 4.1.4.
There's also 4.2.0 RC1.

Could you give a try to 4.1.4 and if it doesn't work to 4.2.0 RC1? Try to
rename your LO directory profile (or remove it if you don't have any
customization), see https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile, before
each test.

I've verified that this works with the daily build of Libre 4.3.0 alpha on Win
7.

It works on both the alfresco cmis server and real production server of
Alfresco.

This is great, lets just hope that this will get into 4.2!

Thanks Julien for the quick fix!

Yes, but neither one produces the desired effect.

(Note: I am speaking about query-design view, where one is trying to construct
a query using diagrams.)

What is needed is a way to add all fields selected in a table to the query, on
one move.

I agree. When you have an option that does not work, you have 2 choices:
1- make it work
2- remove it as an option

Thanks for the comments and discussion. Removing the hotkey option for this and
any other similar possibilities seems like the most immediaetly helpful
solution (if easy to do).

Meanwhile I have moved the 'Recent documents' to the top of the File menu, so
ALT-F then right arrow gets the drop down submenu. Only one extra click.
