If it's any help, I found a Redhat bug related to the Cardo font:

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1000691

Changing the OS/2 metrics in the font to the values specified there cured this
problem. I presume something has changed in how Libreoffice uses those values,
and now it's hitting a bunch of fonts where they're incorrect.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 75067] New: Auto-filter gets confused in a recovered spreadsheet

2014-02-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=75067

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 75067
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Auto-filter gets confused in a recovered spreadsheet
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Mac OS X (All)
  Reporter: jdash...@ashtonfam.org
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.2.0.4 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

After a Calc freeze (caused by trying to Remove Formatting in a different file
containing Asian characters), I recovered a spreadsheet containing about 1,400
rows of data. I had been using auto-filter, and the correct three rows were
being displayed.

However, the drop-downs over each column were no longer filtered correctly for
the visible lines: all values were visible in every column's drop-down, even
though the AutoFilter item in the menu was still checked.

To resolve this, I did another Cmd-A (Select All) and Data - Filter -
AutoFilter, after which I reselected the filter criteria in the key columns,
after which the other columns' drop-downs showed only the expected values.

Bonus bug: after recovering and opening two spreadsheets, keystrokes (like
Cmd-A) may go to the bottom, hidden spreadsheet instead of to the top, visible
spreadsheet, even when it has been clicked-in.

I have been using 4.1.5 but am eager to give 4.2 a try. Will get back here with
a report.

The changelog
http://www.libreoffice.org/download/4-2-new-features-and-fixes/
indeed contains Improved MathML Export (Frédéric Wang). So chances are that
this issue is fixed in 4.2 indeed. Would be awesome if the bug had been
automagically fixed!

Ok, but maybe we should then drop the export in 4.2. too? Would be a
in-series regression (well, sort of), but better removing the export than
collecting more dupes here. As is the export isnt that useful: still better
to force people to write ODS instead of broken sxc ...

Yeah I'd be fine with it. We just need to backport the removal commit, plus
some adjustment in the test that failed due to the removal.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 75069] New: Freeze or lock when clearing direct formatting from a URL containing Asian characters

2014-02-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=75069

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 75069

  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Mac OS X (All)
  Reporter: jdash...@ashtonfam.org
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.2.0.4 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

I copied some HTML from my PayPal account transaction history, including this
value as a link: Details Payment To 鲍 天穗 23383394AY510781J

This and another cell both containing a link with extended character-set
characters each cause LO Calc to freeze (spinning beachball) when I try to
Clear Direct Formatting from the context menu or from the main menu or with
Ctrl-M.

The actual URL of the link uses normal characters. Similar cells above and
below either of these, containing similar links with similar URLs, do not cause
the spinning beachball. So I conclude that the Asian characters in the text of
the link are causing the problem.

The same symptoms result if you try to paste the formatting from an adjacent
cell into one of these cells.

Specifically, I used the formula bar to copy the text of the link, then deleted
the link from the cell. I then use Edit - Paste Special to paste the text as
unformatted text (not RTF). I copied one of the other cells (which had had
direct formatting cleared from it) and tried to paste only the format into the
Asian-text cell. This also caused a spinning-beachball freeze.

When I point to Calc cells and scroll using the MacBook Pro trackpad or

labels or column labels, scrolling doesn't work. Since these labels are part of
the view that will be moving out of sight when the view scrolls, their

I'm nominating bug 74595: Opening HTML files that have !DOCTYPE ...s that are
not on the first line of the file cause LibreOffice to show the HTML source
code. To get the HTML contents to be displayed (instead of the source), I have
to open the HTML file in a text editor and make sure !DOCTYPE ... is on the
first line. The average user, though, doesn't know how to work with HTML code,
and won't know how to get the file to work. So, I am nominating this for the
LibreOffice 4.2 most annoying bugs list. I'm not the only one that experienced
this issue

Selecting the file type to open, explicitly as HTML Document (Writer)

Importance is perhaps a little high, having an easy workaround.

Attempt to modify a comment using a non-standard procedure crashes LO.

To reproduce:

1. Open a fresh calc document
2. Right click any cell and add a comment
3. Right click on this cell and select show comment
4. Single click on the comment
5. Attempt to delete the comment using the backspace key several times
6. LO goes down

A couple of points here.

- The doco advises to double click on the comment. My activities are not
correct
- I can not reproduce this on windows. In both cases this is 4.2.0.4

Problem description:

The hand is nice!

But it only moves the existing range up and does not extend the range.

For extension of the range, the hand must be used to move the range up to the
new upper corner of the desired range and than clicking on the little square at
the right bottom corner of the range, the range must be extended to the bottom
or right or left.

It would be much better (increased productivity) if the hand could be used on
- the left or right side of the range for moving the existing range to anywhere
- on top and bottom to expand the range up, down, right and left.

The bug effects LO 4.2.0, but not 4.1.5. The OHLC Spread/Range option of the
Stock Chart 3 and the Candle option of the Stock Chart 4 does not show
appropriately. I tried to reverse the Low position with the High position, but
it did not make any difference. When I use LO Calc 4.1.5 to open the same file
it works just fine. Please take a look at the LO Calc ods file. (There two
screen prints are inserted into the chart file for the comparison.) The top
screen print is how it supposed to be, the lower image is with the bug. Also I
have noticed that the data labels were not saved in the chart.

The format for the Decimal separators for Oman coming with LibreOffice (dot)
is not the local standard. The decimal separator is , (comma), thousands

٣‎ - ٤‎ - ٥‎ - ٦‎ - ٧‎ - ٨‎ - ٩‎) and it make confuse when use the Decimal
separators as “dot” because the zero number in Indo-Arabic numerals is also

  Reporter: momonas...@gmail.com

Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.2.0.4 release
 Component: UI
   Product: LibreOffice

Currently the Paragraph panel has some pointless controls that just eating
space:

1) Two labels: Spacing:, Indent. They don't add any clarity (not to say
functionality).

2) Two buttons: Increase Indent, Decrease Indent. These buttons just
duplicate the functionality of spin-boxes. You can click on the corresponding
spin-box (or scroll with the middle mouse button) to achieve the same result.

3) Two buttons: Increase Spacing, Decrease Spacing. Same argument as above
(although I'm not sure about this one, because these buttons set both
before/after paragraph space at once, which is not possible otherwise).

4) Paragraph backgroung color button is too wide. Can be a small button, just
like font color/highlight buttons from the Character panel.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 75046] New: PRINTING Prints off page beyond bottom margin when a row break is in hidden rows

2014-02-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=75046

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 75046
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: PRINTING Prints off page beyond bottom margin when a
row break is in hidden rows
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: lo.sever...@spamgourmet.com
  Hardware: x86 (IA32)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.1.4.2 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

LO Calc 4.1.4.2
May be related to Bug 64703

The problem occurs when a ROW BREAK is inside hidden rows. Whether the rows are
hidden manually or by a filter doesn't matter.

Steps to reproduce.
New Spreadsheet
Fill A1:A100 with any printable value, enough to make 2 printable pages.
Select Row 10, Insert, Page Break, Row Break
Hit print preview to see expected result: Multi page print with pages correctly
formatted between bottom and top margin. The first page is short.
Hide rows 2-12. The ROW BREAK is now hidden.
Hit print preview

Unexpected result: One page print which goes past the bottom margin off the
page.

Expected result: Multi page print with pages correctly formatted between top
and bottom margin.

Note: Print Preview, Print Dialog Preview, Print, and Export to PDF are
affected.

Note: When the bug is activated the print preview screen takes noticeably
longer to produce a complete preview. This slow painting can be seen on an i3
based Celeron G530 when the page is set to Landscape and a many column
spreadsheet fills the entire preview with text.

Another bug:

Show all rows. Hide rows 2-9. Now the row break is at the top of the visible
rows.
Format, Print Ranges, Edit, User Defined, Rows to Repeat: $1

Unexpected result: The first page prints a single line of text consisting of
the header row with a blank page underneath.

Expected result: The first page should have printed text below the header row.
The header row should only print when there is printable data following it.

Note: Microsoft Excel XP also does not handle this correctly so maybe it's best
to just leave it.

 Hi Gerard,
I think the issue is that the black line on the border cell is not visible
in a grouping cell when selected, if the first group cell is not in the

Exactly, the border is missing ( as you can see on the picture ). It's not that

Yes, it would, but the ODF specification does not mandate which graphic formats
must be supported (it only says PNG for raster and SVG for vector should be
supported) so JPEG is not even mentioned in the specification.

Also, when the spell checking is disabled, is it still running in the

The cell border issues when importing xls made with earlier versions of Calc
have been resolved in 4.2.1 RC1 version.

Hairline border (0.05pt thick) made with Calc 4.0 and earlier versions shows as
0.05 thick when opened with 4.2.1 RC1 versions and prints ok. (When opened with
version 4.1 and 4.2 it showed as dashes and was not printed!)

The Hairline border (0.05pt thick) made with Calc 4.1.0 (to Calc 4.2.0) when
opened with 4.2.1 RC1 shows as 0.75 thick, but this is OK and not an issue at
all

Thanks Kohei Yoshida for your wonderful work.

More details on this can been seen on his blog post:

Isn't a blocker by definition a bug which blocks a final release until the bug
is fixed? In that case, what's the point, as there have been several final
releases containing this bug... (/sarcasm) In any case, the sooner it is
fixed, the better :)

was a clean new install or did you overinstall the 4.2.0 on top of a
   previous LibO release?

  I installed over a previous LibO, 4.1.4. Should I de- and re-install?

you could try and see if it solves the issue.

basically you are saying that double clicking on an .odt file doesn't open
it in LibO? what exactly happens when you do so?

Now I de-installed LibO 4.2.0 and tried to re-Install. I tried 3 times: The
installation stopped without success an without changing the system.
After that, I installed the 4.1.4 version and everything is o.k.
Then I installed the new 4.1.5 version over the 4.1.4, and it is still o.k.
So, I think I will keep that version.

@tommy27
I've worked on several other projects, and it's always been my experience that
when a feature is not supported, either the original report is used until all
of the test cases are working OR associated cases are reopened.

It is TDF’s policy to require new reports for failed test after the feature is
only partially implemented? If you're going to use this bug to close other
reports, shouldn't those reports be working?

So when a feature is not implemented, reporters should always use in the title,
implemented it perfectly or they will have to keep filing bug reports during
the development cycle. Very strange.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 75052] New: Queries not always returning any data

2014-02-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=75052

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 75052
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Queries not always returning any data
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: t...@tim-passingham.co.uk
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.2.0.4 release
 Component: Database
   Product: LibreOffice

I have a Base application that I've been using for 2 or more years. It has a
number of dialogues that allow me to enter search data that selects data in
queries to be returned in forms.

Recently the queries appear to be randomly returning no data at all for the
first few attempts, and then working again using the same search criteria. This
has never happened before. I think it is somewhat worse when I use shorter
abbreviations (to which * is appended).

I'm on ubuntu 13.10, 64 bit, MariaDB 10.0.8. Using MySql(Native) and
MySql(JDBC) (I have tried both - the Native version seems a bit worse if
anything).

It looks like some for of timeout or caching problem, but I can't reproduce the
problem consistently enough to be sure where the problem is. I have failed to
get any errors querying using phpMyAdmin, but can't be entirely sure the
problem is in Base.

I am not even sure when the problem first started, since I hadn't use the
application for a few weeks. It may be related to the recent LO version, or to
a MariaDB update.

I'm reporting this in the hope someone else is having similar query problems
with this version of Base. It may be a wild goose chase

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 40594] FILEOPEN .docx (MSO2010) does not show CHART object

2014-02-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=40594

@Luke
please don't get upset. you asked for advise to know if your REOPEN was
correct. what has been told to you is that it's better to open a new report.

best thing would be to indicata that this is a followup of Bug 40594 in the
description.

as said before, the original issue was that chart were not visible at all...
now this is fixed... all the rendering imperfections you correctly pointed out
has to be reported in a clean new report

the present report has already 39 comment and multiple attachements, and is
getting difficult to read and follow. so the decision to open new reports and
keep this closed is to keep things simpler.

best thing, as suggested, is to create new reports each one describing the
exact issue you still encounter.

for developers it will be easier to fix things if bug is splitted in different
parts.

No problem (accepting, rejecting is ok) with Version: 4.2.1.1
Build ID: d7dbbd7842e6a58b0f521599204e827654e1fb8b on Linux X64 DEB.

Perhaps this bug could be dedicated to debugbuild.
And so this bug shouldn't stay in MAB ?

Test file to delete column B, and check formula in column C

Problem description:
When deleting column referenced in other formula, formula are modified but do
not content #REF! as they should, even if they display #REF!.
When undo deletion, formula are wrongly restored, and display #REF!, even after
Ctrl+Shift+F9

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create new file (or open attached document) with values in column A, column
B=2*A, column C=B+A
2. Delete column B
= Column C display #REF! which is normal
3. Click on a formula in column C

Current behavior:
Formula is =A2+A2

Expected behavior:
Formula should be =#REF!2+A2

4. Hit Ctrl+Z to undo

Current behavior:
Column B is restored (OK).
In column C, only the first formula in C2 is correctly restored: other cells
display #REF! and formula is =A3+A3

2. Delete column B
