[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 76099] New: Segfault in ScColumn::GetNeededSize (probably related to Conditional Formats)
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=76099 Priority: medium Bug ID: 76099 Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Summary: Segfault in ScColumn::GetNeededSize (probably related to Conditional Formats) Severity: major Classification: Unclassified OS: Linux (All) Reporter: james_av...@yahoo.com Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) Status: UNCONFIRMED Version: 4.3.0.0.alpha0+ Master Component: Spreadsheet Product: LibreOffice Created attachment 95686 -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=95686action=edit tickers.csv data file needed by the spreadsheet macros Attached is a .ods spreadsheet which uses Conditional Formats. After recently using Conditional Format-Manage to tweak settings, I'm now getting random crashes (segfaults). By random I mean it happens while executing my Basic macro code, but not always at the same place. In fact, inserting MsgBox statements to narrow down the statement causing the crash makes the crash shift to somewhere else (i.e. I put in two MsgBox stmts and it crashed after the first but before the second; then reloaded and inserted additional MsgBox stmts inbetween, and now it runs past all of them and crashes somethere further on). The shifting location of the crash implies memory corruption, e.g. buffer overrun which causes unrelated code to crash. This can be reproduced at will (just can't nail down a particular Basic statement). I will attach a gdb traceback and also a demo spreadsheet and a data file needed by the demo. INSTRUCTIONS FOR REPRODUCING: 1. Download crasher.ods and tickers.csv files. Place the tickers.csv file in /tmp (the path is hard-coded). 2. Open crasher.ods, with macros enabled, and press the dark-yellow Fresh Load button at the top. It will crash immediately. (This button runs the macro Standard.LoadCSV.Reoad_IB_CSV_file but as previouly noted, the location of the crash shifts when MsgBox statements are inserted) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Problem description: I have a writer file with 2 pictures in the header. If I save this file as docx and open these with Word 2010 then Word tells me that this file cannot be opened because of a xml error or because the file is corrupted. I tested this with a new writer file. I could not reproduce corruption, but I could reproduce missing/unreadable pictures in the word documents. Writer behavior seems not to be deterministic, since sometimes the same step produces a different result. But repeated editing always leads to missing/unreadable pictures in the word document after a few steps. The enclosed zip file contains test2.odt and test2.docx which does show all the pictures. I did copy/paste one picture from the default page header into the title page header and saved as test2-1.odt. Save as test2-1.docx, which does not show the picture on the default page anymore. Steps to reproduce: 1. Create new writer document with a title page and a default page, both with headers enabled 2. Insert a picture in the header of the default page, save a copy in docx format 3. Insert a second picture in the header of the default page, save another copy in docx format 4. Insert a picture in the header of the title page, save a copy in docx format 5. Repeat step 2, 3 or 4 in various manners Current behavior: After step 4, at least after a one of few repeated steps, the docx document does show placeholders/frames of (some of) the pictures stating This image cannot currently be displayed. The size of the docx file is smaller then than the size of the docx file before the last step, although a picture has been added. Expected behavior: The docx files always show the pictures. Tim's issue sounds like a bug to me. The issue with the Navigator is a bit more tricky since the Navigator has an own (palette) window. But still, I think, per main-window key bindings should be respected wherever the focus is (within the window and its palette windows) unless they collide with a key binding for the current element. (In that case, the key binding for the element should take precendence.) Palette windows are also main-window specific, i.e. they don't become another main window's subwindow when focus changes from one main window to another. Since upgrading to the latest released version 4.1.5.3 in Feb 2014 they are now opened in Writer. I've tried opening one using Calc's File Open command and navigating to the file but again it opens in Writer. Also tried using File Open and then the drop-down to select 'Microsoft Excel 97...(*xls)', but this only gave an error message that it wasn't a valid file. I've reverted back to v4.0.6 which happily opens the files in question, so I don't think it's simply a case of a corrupt file. I'm running on Windows 8.1. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=75931 --- Comment #1 from Dominique Boutry dominique.bout...@laposte.net --- Same versions of LibO, on Win7 : what I notice : With text with automatic color : (1)- regular drawing of the object : text is black or white, anyway visible (2)- one left clic on the text : text is shown in black, therefore difficult to read on dim colors and invisible on black, (3)- double-clic on the text : text and text-background are put to opposite color, therefore same potential visibility problem than above. With text with defined/fill color : (4)- regular drawing of the object : text is more or less visible, depending of the background color (5)- one left clic on the text : no change, text is more or less visible, depending of the background color, (6)- double-clic on the text : text and text-background are put to opposite color, therefore same potential visibility problem as above. All other LibO modules (WRITER, CALC, IMPRESS) are confronted to the analog problems, WRITER however with difference on highligthing way. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=76021 --- Comment #8 from Tomaz Vajngerl qui...@gmail.com --- I agree that HTML export in LO is reallybad, hasn't been worked on since Netscape was king and it probably needs rewriting to better use CSS and SVG, not use deprecated HTML features and to use new HTML5 tags where appropriate (easily choosing between HTML4 and HTML5). This probably will take some time.. However, if you are trying to parse HTML with a XML parser then it is your own fault. HTML is not XML - there are subtle differences like tags are case sensitive in XML but on HTML, no need for / if element has no body (for example: br is valid HTML but not XML) and nesting tags is allowed in HTML. In other words: it is recommended today to write HTML as XML but not mandated so you can not rely on that. If you want a valid XML document export it as XHTML, which is actually using XML as a base. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

It is still possible to install any feature combination form command line at the users' risk. I'd expect that a partial 4.1.x installation to be upgraded to a full 4.2.x installation.
