Well, with the wide screen that we have today, the split screen feature is
better when the splitter is vertical, that is, the two parts of a same document
are placed left and right of the screen/windows.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 76099] New: Segfault in ScColumn::GetNeededSize (probably related to Conditional Formats)

2014-03-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=76099

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 76099
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Segfault in ScColumn::GetNeededSize (probably related
to Conditional Formats)
  Severity: major
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: james_av...@yahoo.com
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.3.0.0.alpha0+ Master
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

Created attachment 95686
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=95686action=edit
tickers.csv data file needed by the spreadsheet macros

Attached is a .ods spreadsheet which uses Conditional Formats. After recently
using Conditional Format-Manage to tweak settings, I'm now getting random
crashes (segfaults). By random I mean it happens while executing my Basic
macro code, but not always at the same place.

In fact, inserting MsgBox statements to narrow down the statement causing the
crash makes the crash shift to somewhere else (i.e. I put in two MsgBox stmts
and it crashed after the first but before the second; then reloaded and
inserted additional MsgBox stmts inbetween, and now it runs past all of them
and crashes somethere further on).

The shifting location of the crash implies memory corruption, e.g. buffer
overrun which causes unrelated code to crash.

This can be reproduced at will (just can't nail down a particular Basic
statement). I will attach a gdb traceback and also a demo spreadsheet and a
data file needed by the demo.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR REPRODUCING:

1. Download crasher.ods and tickers.csv files. Place the tickers.csv file
in /tmp (the path is hard-coded).

2. Open crasher.ods, with macros enabled, and press the dark-yellow Fresh
Load button at the top. It will crash immediately. (This button runs the
macro Standard.LoadCSV.Reoad_IB_CSV_file but as previouly noted, the location
of the crash shifts when MsgBox statements are inserted)

VBA macro with assignment and font color setting

Hello,
in attached XLS file there is simple VBA macro which (after pressing CZ
button) copies cells from list Src to list Dest and sets font color of 2
cells to white:

Sub copy_to_CZ1()

Sheets(Dest).Range(A2) = Sheets(Src).Range(A3)
Sheets(Dest).Range(B2) = Sheets(Src).Range(B3)
Sheets(Dest).Range(C2) = Sheets(Src).Range(C3)
Sheets(Dest).Range(B2:C2).Font.Color = RGB(255, 255, 255)
Sheets(Dest).Range(D2) = Sheets(Src).Range(D3)
Sheets(Dest).Range(E2) = Sheets(Src).Range(E3)

Sheets(Dest).Select
Range(D2).Select

End Sub

But after pressing CZ button last two assignments aren't executed (but
Sheets(Dest).Select and Range(D2).Select is executed). If you delete row
with font color setting. All assignments are executed properly.

I cannot confirm this bug in other LibreOffice versions but it was working in
OpenOffice 3.2.1...

Sincerely
Laube Roman

Hi. With LibO 4.2.1.1 on Win7 :
- not reproduced in LibO DRAW,
- in a drawing into LibO WRITER, impossible because there are no connectors,
- if you copy a drawing (with 2 connected images, for instance) from LibO DRAW
to LibO WRITER, the line shows a strange behavior : it behaves like a connector
(even if there are no connectors in WRITER drawing), but it moves impredictably
during any move.

Does that look like what you experimented ?

Please limit to one bug per file. Thanks.

I have a similar problem opening multiple documents, starting with Ubuntu 11.10
and LO 4.1.3.2.
When you open a document on the shared directory (using java EXEC) and a second
document on the local file system, the block (on the first, closed just before)
remains until the second file is closed.
This is a very annoying problem because it forces a user to close any other
document before it will be able to edit the remote one.

Hi

Apparently, the text is always drawn from the starting line extremity to the
ending one. So it suffices to draw a line starts with arrow instead a line
ends with arrow to get the expected result.

Does that answer your demand ? If yes please update status to RESOLVED/NOTABUG.

See long descritpion.

Problem description:
I have a writer file with 2 pictures in the header. If I save this file as docx
and open these with Word 2010 then Word tells me that this file cannot be
opened because of a xml error or because the file is corrupted.

I tested this with a new writer file. I could not reproduce corruption, but I
could reproduce missing/unreadable pictures in the word documents. Writer
behavior seems not to be deterministic, since sometimes the same step produces
a different result. But repeated editing always leads to missing/unreadable
pictures in the word document after a few steps.

The enclosed zip file contains test2.odt and test2.docx which does show all the
pictures. I did copy/paste one picture from the default page header into the
title page header and saved as test2-1.odt. Save as test2-1.docx, which does
not show the picture on the default page anymore.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create new writer document with a title page and a default page, both with
headers enabled
2. Insert a picture in the header of the default page, save a copy in docx
format
3. Insert a second picture in the header of the default page, save another copy
in docx format
4. Insert a picture in the header of the title page, save a copy in docx format
5. Repeat step 2, 3 or 4 in various manners

Current behavior:
After step 4, at least after a one of few repeated steps, the docx document
does show placeholders/frames of (some of) the pictures stating This image
cannot currently be displayed. The size of the docx file is smaller then than
the size of the docx file before the last step, although a picture has been
added.

Expected behavior:
The docx files always show the pictures.

Operating System: Windows 7
Version: 4.2.1.1 release

Not sure if we should consider that as a bug, added UX-advise in CC.

Tim's issue sounds like a bug to me.

The issue with the Navigator is a bit more tricky since the Navigator has an
own (palette) window. But still, I think, per main-window key bindings should
be respected wherever the focus is (within the window and its palette windows)
unless they collide with a key binding for the current element. (In that case,
the key binding for the element should take precendence.)

Palette windows are also main-window specific, i.e. they don't become another
main window's subwindow when focus changes from one main window to another. So
this should be no problem to implement.

After further investigation, this bug is not reproducible on Linux x86 platform
neither on Windows XP SP3 (x86 also).

All my previous regression test have been done on an Ubuntu 12.04.4 amd64
(x86-64).

This bug isn't Debian-based specific, I can reproduce it on Fedora 19 amd64
with LO 4.1.5.

I don't know (and I can't test), if this affect other 64bits OS (Mac/Windows),
or if it's only Linux amd64 specific.

Reproduced with LibO 4.2.1.1 on Win7.

The .doc content is clear for WORD : one frame :
- anchored to paragraph
- autour (= parallel) wrap
- containing 4 paragraphs and one text area anchored to one of these
paragraphs.

Opening this doc under LibO shows messy frames and paragraphs properties :
- 4 frames
- inexplicable page jump,
- optimal wrap checked but not put in application
- etc

Not tied to the nested textbox, appears also if the textbox is absent.

Note this does not happen in all cells, most other cells have other styles.

Summary: FILEOPEN: XLS files opening in Writer
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: irene...@yahoo.co.uk
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.1.5.3 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

In my previous version LibreOffice 4.0.6.2, XLS files opened correctly in Calc.
Since upgrading to the latest released version 4.1.5.3 in Feb 2014 they are now
opened in Writer.

I've tried opening one using Calc's File Open command and navigating to the
file but again it opens in Writer. Also tried using File Open and then the
drop-down to select 'Microsoft Excel 97...(*xls)', but this only gave an error
message that it wasn't a valid file.

I've reverted back to v4.0.6 which happily opens the files in question, so I
don't think it's simply a case of a corrupt file. I'm running on Windows 8.1.
I'd submit a sample file but alas they're statements generated by my bank!

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 75931] EDITING/FORMATTING: Invisible text when editing

2014-03-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=75931

--- Comment #1 from Dominique Boutry dominique.bout...@laposte.net ---
Same versions of LibO, on Win7 : what I notice :

With text with automatic color :
(1)- regular drawing of the object : text is black or white, anyway visible
(2)- one left clic on the text : text is shown in black, therefore difficult to
read on dim colors and invisible on black,
(3)- double-clic on the text : text and text-background are put to opposite
color, therefore same potential visibility problem than above.

With text with defined/fill color :
(4)- regular drawing of the object : text is more or less visible, depending of
the background color
(5)- one left clic on the text : no change, text is more or less visible,
depending of the background color,
(6)- double-clic on the text : text and text-background are put to opposite
color, therefore same potential visibility problem as above.

All other LibO modules (WRITER, CALC, IMPRESS) are confronted to the analog
problems, WRITER however with difference on highligthing way.

IMHO, (1),(4),(5),(6) are correct behaviour, and (2),(3) are bugs (as the
automatic characteristic is specifically devoted to the text lisibility)

I still see 2 differences compared to the reference rendering in Word.

1) The cell on the right side is not as tall as others in the same row.
2) The left border of cell on the bottom is aligned to the left border of the
previous row.

The original bug was reported for 3.4. This table looked much worse in 3.4 (and
up to 3.6). It became somewhat good in 4.0 and the situation hasn't improved
since then.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 76021] FORMATTING: Libre Office Writer: save As HTML results in interlaced strike and span tags

2014-03-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=76021

--- Comment #8 from Tomaz Vajngerl qui...@gmail.com ---
I agree that HTML export in LO is reallybad, hasn't been worked on since
Netscape was king and it probably needs rewriting to better use CSS and SVG,
not use deprecated HTML features and to use new HTML5 tags where appropriate
(easily choosing between HTML4 and HTML5). This probably will take some time..

However, if you are trying to parse HTML with a XML parser then it is your own
fault. HTML is not XML - there are subtle differences like tags are case
sensitive in XML but on HTML, no need for / if element has no body (for
example: br is valid HTML but not XML) and nesting tags is allowed in HTML.
In other words: it is recommended today to write HTML as XML but not mandated
so you can not rely on that.

If you want a valid XML document export it as XHTML, which is actually using
XML as a base.

I wonder if export-xhtml and save as-html calls the same part.
I think having read in a bug that it could be 2 different parts (one uses
 xslt file)

 Miklos: any idea?

Yes, export-xhtml is using XSLT and they aren't using the same code paths.

build for version 4.2.2. indeed worksforme.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 76123] New: red underline appears for cells using language setting 'none'

2014-03-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=76123

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 76123
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: red underline appears for cells using language setting
'none'
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: dsz...@flyordie.com
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.2.1.1 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

Text content of cells will always have a red underline even if the cell's
language is set to 'None'

1. open a new spreadsheet
2. select all cells (ctrl+A)
3. format cells (ctrl+1), font, language - set to '[none]', Ok
4. enter some incorrectly spelled text into the first cell and press enter
the cell's content won't be underlined
5. scroll the cell out of view (press page down), then back (press page up)
the cell's content will be underlined

Actually, when you have a large spreadsheet with textual data that is not
supposed to be spelled correctly in any language, you can observe the spell
checker in work as you scroll cells in/out of view. Every time when cells come
back into view the spellchecker starts underlining everything.

This is a regression. LibO 3.6 did not do this.

Hi,

From your report it's not clear what version you're using. You filled this bug
against 4.2.0.4 version, but you mention a RPM file which belong to 4.2.2.1.

Also this RPM file is for KDE3 integration, and I guess it's not what you're
using (I guess KDE4?). So it's not clear to me how this RPM can affect you.

Can you clarify please?

reopening. The code fails for the .0 releases. 0*1000 still is 0, so 4.3.0.1
would then identify as 4.3.1 and rc2 as 4.3.2 and that would be very wrong :-)

As there are many Applications that use more liberal formatting of the version:
If anyone finds an Appstore-Listed application that uses more than three
integers (maybe even letters), then the limit can be reverted again as well.

(In reply to comment #1)
partial installation was dropped off in the 4.2.x branch
 https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleaseNotes/4.2#Installer_.28win_only.29

It was not dropped, just the UI for it was removed. It is still possible to
install any feature combination form command line at the users' risk.

I'd expect that a partial 4.1.x installation to be upgraded to a full 4.2.x
 installation.

Windows Installer migrates the feature state when a package is upgraded. So if
a feature was uninstalled on 4.1, it won't be installed for 4.2 by default --
this is how Windows Installer works. Again, it can be overridden on the command
line, but why bother, when it is much easier to uninstall/reinstall.

Apologies - using 4.2.2.1

I do not know how the file affects the program, however, deleting both
gnome and kde integration files stops the crashes. I use KDE so I am
not sure what the effect of the gnome intergration file could be, but an
error in the terminal mentioned in in reference to a dbus conenction

It is interesting behavior, but unfortunately this dialog comes from Windows,
not from LibreOffice. It should display processes with name and process ID,
e.g. Windows Explorer (Process id: 3188). I don't know what's wrong in you
environment, why the processes don't have names. But LibreOffice developers
cannot fix this.

OK, Could you please attach a backtrace? Basically you need to open the
terminal and run 'soffice --backtrace', then reproduce the crash. It will
create a file named 'gdbtrace.log' in the current directory. Please attach here
this file.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 76125] New: FILTER: autofilter on boolean column with only 1 (0 state stays empty)

2014-03-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 76125
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: FILTER: autofilter on boolean column with only 1 (0
state stays empty)
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: bc...@free.fr
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.2.1.1 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description:

Steps to reproduce:
1. create a column with boolean type 0 or 1
2. type only 1 or nothing
3. create auto-filter
4. select only 1

Current behavior: it always displays all rows

Expected behavior: I want it displays only 1 rows

Workarounds : if I enter 0 (minimum 1 time) instead of nothing, it works. If I
select Not Empty too.

Same issue in 4.2.0.4 under Ubuntu Trusty beta1

Comment : in my real worksheet, I have about 100 rows and I only want to select
few one (about 10), so I put 1 in some and filter. I know I can use Not Empty
but I think it should be correct to can select only 1 (in Excel 2003, it works
!)

Regards

Bertrand
