(In reply to comment #1)
I guess other spacings are affected too, but they did not yet annoy me : )

Based on my testing, this at least affected the paragraph spacing and line
spacing, see my comment at:
https://www.libreoffice.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=50092#c6

(just copy my comment in bug 50092 to here below:)

THE REASON:

* Default style of LO Writer document is SINGLE LINE SPACE, and 0 for AFTER
PARAGRAPH.

* However, default style of MS Office 2010 is MULTIPLE LINE SPACE (1.15), and
10 points AFTER PARAGRAPH, as described in this article:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/word-help/adjust-the-line-spacing-between-text-or-paragraphs-HP010368776.aspx

* When export as .docx, Writer did not set the w:spacing... attributes in
/word/styles.xml, as it is treated as DEFAULT by Writer.

Hi,
i hope my english is enough for this problem.

I had a spreadsheet file open (with calc) and minimised to the task area (Win 7

The machine was sometimes over a few days gone into energy saving mode

After switching on my (usb-) printer i wanted to print some cells of the sheet.

In the printer dialog the Printer properties where disabled (grey).
Allthoug i could press OK to print, nothing happened.

After closing and reopenig the file Printing was OK.

Windows 7 / x64.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 48350] FILESAVE: missing w:spacing w:after=0 w:before=0/ in new document.docx (and other MSO 2010 formats)

2014-03-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=48350

(In reply to comment #11)
Although the problem is certainly related, I don't see how bug 51340 is a
duplicate to that since it is regarding PPT instead of Word

I changed the title of this bug to include other MSO formats.

and it is not about creating spacing for a new document, but reading the
existing spacing correctly from an existing document.

That is exactly the same issue:

1. IMPORT:

When LibreOffice opens a MSO 2007/10/13 file, it should apply the correct
PARAGRAPH SPACE and LINE HEIGHT, when para space and line height is NOT SET in
the xml file:
  * PARAGRAPH SPACE: should be the same as MSO 2007/10/13 (for Word format,
it's 1.15; for PPT, I dont know)
  * LINE HEIGHT: should be the same as MSO 2007/10/13 (for Word format, it's 10
points after each paragraph; for PPT, I dont know either, should look into the
microsoft site.)

2. EXPORT:

When LibreOffice save a file as MSO 2007/2010/2013 format, it should set the
PARAGRAPH SPACE and LINE HEIGHT in the xml file. Doing this will avoid
confusion between applications.

When the above IMPORT issue is fixed, the EXPORT part is not necessary if users
are using the newer versions of LO with the fix included. But we'd better also
fix the EXPORT part because someone may open your file in an older LO version
and see a different view.

To see if your PPTX issue is a duplicate to this one, I have to see in the PPTX
xml file if the line height is really not set (i.e., default value in MSO).
(But I am not familier with the pptx style xml file, maybe someone can help?)
If it's not set, then MSO opens it as 1.5 line height and LO opens as single
line height -- same issue.

It's a copy of a good feauture by oooforum for Apache OpenOffice:
https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=111290

 Hello,
If a crash occurs, it often happens that OOO can't recover the file. The file
 is
damaged: zip is corrupted and/or content.xml size is 0.
Why OOo don't work on a copy?
 The steps would be:
 - user open a ODF document
 - OOo rename .od* in .tmp and copy .tmp in .od*
 - if user save the document
 - OOo delete .tmp, rename .*od* in .tmp and copy .tmp in .od*
 - if user close the document
 - OOo delete .tmp
This could prevent the problem (see URL above). If a system error occurs,
 power
ends or crash OOo and corrupt the .od*, user can recover the previous version
 to
 rename .tmp in .od*.
This could improve security cause many users forgot to check Always create
 backup copy option.

It's could be a good workforme to this bugs:
Bug 47988 - FILESAVE: Feature request : better visibility and access to
automatical backups and enabled by default
Bug 31076 - Create backup copy is unchecked
This bugs were opened because on the forums, the helpers are always boring with
corrupted files. A good software know the user's gap: why did you think that
Apple add Auto-save in Mac OS 10.7 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autosave)??

The different with Bug 47988 and Bug 31076 that the program delete the copy and
the disk will never be full.

The problem could be a lost of performance during the opened but safety is
mother of security

Hi Micke, there are several bugs covering this:

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60535
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56847

Some cover only the video issues. But I still set this to duplicate.

Please search the tracker first for dupes:
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/buglist.cgi?bug_status=__open__list_id=409027product=LibreOfficequery_format=specificorder=changeddate%20DESC%2Cbug_status%2Cpriority%2Cassigned_to%2Cbug_idlimit=0

This very bad situation will improve once LO manages to use VLC codecs. So if
you have VLC installed on your system ideally everything that VLC can play, LO
will support. I'm not sure how far development with that is. But at least that
was the plan.

OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: suokunl...@gmail.com

Steps:
1. Data - Pivot Table - Current Selection;
2. Click More button of the Pivot Table window

Current Behaviour:
The window in step 2 can not be resized.
As a result, the contents below More are not shown completely and I can not
choose the options. This causes Pivot Table function useless in my system.

May be a regression. May be other windows which can not be resized and users
can not make selections.

OS: Fedora 20 (Gnome desktop)

Pedro: simply answer is, because you didn't put the bug back in UNCONFIRMED.
Please note: SCREAMING will not increase the speed in which your bug is
 fixed.

I tested your theme in LO 4.2.2.1 and it works perfectly fine here. I have
Mendeley installed. But no Mendeley extension if that was what you meant.

Can you please retry with the latest LO and see if this persists?

First: I will not change the status of my own bugs. I was accused before of
setting my own bugs to NEW.

Second: I did not scream. In case you don't know, screaming is typing in
CAPITALS, which I did not do (I just copied the Status which happens to be in
all capitals...)

Third: In Comment 4 I wrote The bug still occurs on LO 4.3.2.2

Fourth: If the Mendeley toolbar is not loaded (as shown in the attached
screenshot) the bug will not be replicated.

Test file as mentioned in long description

Problem description:

LibreOffice ignores the table:default-cell-style-name attribute in a
table:table-row element if the last row in the table does not have this
attribute set.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open attached test.ods in LibreOffice
2. Note that cell text in A1 is in a non-bold font
3. Close document without saving
4. Open test.ods in text editor and change contained content.xml by
5. removing the empty table:table-row/table:table-row element at line 16
6. Save test.ods and open in LibreOffice
7. Cell text in A1 is in bold font

Current behavior:
It seems that whenever the last row in a table does not have a
default-cell-style-name attribute set, the attribute is ignored for all other
rows.

Expected behavior:
The cell A1 should always be formatted in bold font, regardless of any other
rows.

I can not reproduce with 4.1.5.3 and 4.2.3.2 under Linux, the list is displayed
whatever the direction of the selection. Are you sure you're selecting exactly
the same range? Left as unconfirmed - Sophie

--- Comment #2 from Steve Ward st...@eastcliff.org.uk ---
Hi Markus

I have attached the document I am having trouble with. You will see it
is a spreadsheet on which I keep my finances up to date, so I have
removed or changed all the data.

I keep the document on the cloud and have accessed it using Libre Office
4.1.3.2 on a Linux machine with no problem, but accessing using Libre
Office 4.2.0.4 on Windows 7 using both 32 bit and 64 bit machines does
not show the legends on the charts.

That page is from the lightproof extension via dictionaries/en/dialog/en.xdl so
it's not a layout-enabled page. So it can't be converted to layout to get the
goodness of that (not now anyway, maybe in the future we can make layout
available to extensions/starbasic)

caolanm-julien/nemeth: There seems to be lots of vertical space, so reworking
the .xdl shouldn't be to hard to have three rows of checkboxes at the bottom
and say, three or two checkboxes per row elsewhere.

hmm, well yes I added support for fax4cups where LibreOffice 4.3 will prompt
for the phone number to use when that ppd is used and (hopefully correctly)
transfer it along to fax4cups.

and we do want to remove spadmin in 4.3

but the original example here of custom FoomaticRIPOptions aren't implemented
so this specific example still wouldn't work in 4.3 unless we implement that,
which might be possible.

sample of odg file with EMF files

Hello I'm using LibreOffice Draw 4.2.2.1 to work on some documents with some
EMF images.

It is since some versions of LO (not sure how many, but I think should be since
4.x) that when I insert the image from file the document is almost stuck: it
is very slow on moving and resizing the image (almost a couple of seconds every
movement).

The problem is mainly on EMF files. Using OpenOffice this problem is not
present.

I'm working on these files since many years ago, and in the past I never had a
problem with this EMFs.

To continue work I must switch to OpenOffice, but I would prefer to keep LO.

Thank you

Hi all,
Pl. see that the behaviour in the page-break-preview is ideal for SINGLE sheet
but not for multi sheet calc documents. Even if it(ie. behaviour of
page-break-preview) is similar to MS EXCEL, it does not mean that it is not a
bug. Actually it is a bug. ie. it does not give the correct page number in the
doc page-break-view.

please bear with me.

Hence I am reopening it again
