This was not the case for

I wonder if you could tweak the code to avoid autocorrect triggering when an
hyphen is followed by another hyphen, adding an exception similar to the one
used to fix Bug 33899 - Autocorrection replaces dates with fractions

moreoved if that -- no autocorrect could be achieved it would also
represent a fix for aforementioned Bug 67364 and Bug 81301

hi Lazlo, have you read my suggestion in previous comment?
do you think that it's technically feasible?
If my idea is right it would fix 3 bugs in a single shot: current Bug 83037,
Bug 67364 and Bug 81301.

hm - I suspect you are setting up your database incorrectly if you're needing
this featuremost of the time you never want to access the data directly in
a table in a database...and usually the data is stored in such a way that
locking the top row is pretty useless.

That being said - it's not an invalid request so setting to NEW but I highly
recommend going to the user list and seeing if you're setting up your databases
right.

Also note that enhancements are largely done by volunteers and thus there is no
guarantee that the enhancement will be implemented nor an ETA if it is going to
be implemented (it's really up to a volunteer to accept). So the options are:

1. Submit a patch yourself;
2. Wait for a volunteer;
3. Try to sponsor a developer to implement it.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Jay: I'll let you edit the title of the bugtracker since something's lacking
 :)

Andras: I thought about doing about the same as this:
 http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/
 ?id=a4f411ba62d4fd7fd4a61d1c9d326488d5e84ff5
but in the case of English, I'd rename en-US/acor_en-US to en/acor_en since
English US would be the default.

currently default autocorrect english datasets include:
en-AU (Australia)
en-US (United States)
en-GB (Great Britain)
en-ZA (South Africa)

other English variants that do not have a specific autocorrect set are:

Belize,
Canada,
Caribbean,
Ghana,
India,
Ireland,
Jamaica,
Malawi,
Namibia,
New Zealand,
Philippines,
Trinidad,
Zimbabwe

as far as I know, most of those variants belong to Commonwealth countries so
they derive from English GB root languages rather than English US.

so my suggestion would be to clone the acor_en-GB.dat file and rename it to
acor_en.dat and use that generic .dat file to pupulate the other languages.

in other words we should have:
en-AU (Australia)
en-US (United States)
en-GB (Great Britain)
en-ZA (South Africa)
en(Generic clone of en-GB)

then if in second phase we found that some countries would have a better match
with en-US, we could clone this as well and rename it to the proper locale.

for example if you think English (Canada) is more similar to en-US rather than
en-UK we should clone en-US and rename it as en-CA

I don't mean LO Base table features. I mean table control (widget) in the forms
in database, which is used to display data usually. Look at the bottom of this

And yes, I understand the nature of free software development, so I don't
expect it to be done immediately. But it is useful feature, and will increase
usability, so let it be on a long time to-do list.

Hi, I'm a Windows7x64 user.

the problem you describe is due to collision with Correct TWO INitial
CApitals option like Cor already said.

to disable it go in:
Tools/Autocorrect Options/Options/Correct TWO INitial CApitals

and remove the tick from it (try doing the same in a Calc document where
there's a single tick and in a Writer document as well where there are 2
ticks).

If you do this the issue is gone.

tested with 4.3.1.2 and recent 4.4.0.0 master.

I set status to RESOLVED WORKSFORME (but probably it should be labeled as
NOTABUG)
feel free to revert status if you still reproduce the bug after following those
instructions; in that case we should think of a specific Win8.1 issue.

edited summary notes.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 82765] FORMATTING: Conditional formatting changes digits behind the decimal point

I made another test using the same LibO version and OS but could not reproduce
the bug I observed first. When I reported the bug it really was bothering me.

Now it work almost like I expected. Example is attached.

However I observed something with changing of a customized format when
increasing the number of decimal places.

All is described with screen shots in the attached Writer files. This file also
contains thoughts about expectations from my side. But as I don't know the
specifications, I cannot make a statement in respect it is a bug or an
enhancement request.

Please have a look and advice.

--- Comment #34 from Makrea agut...@gmail.com ---
There has just been a report of a similar (virtual call) error in this forum
thread:

http://en.libreofficeforum.org/node/9160

I looked into it and created a post there with a question to the thread OP.

I realise this report is mainly following a PowerTools line of enquiry, but it
may be worth confirming whether this Windows service is (not) a factor also.

I'll look into it but I'm almost certain that it isn't the cause because the
error was showing on a XP machine also, where such windows anti-malware
services didn't exist.

I'll test this issue on the 4.3 LO version to see if the bug is still there. I
think it will be there because I followed the Release notes of the launched
versions and didn't saw this FDO there and besides this would be closed by
someone if it was solved.

Anyway, thanks for showing interest on the issue.
Anything you would require to track this thing down just ask.

This bug is a bit different from the two earlier reports (bug 83882 and bug
82928) that describe problems with undoing changes that affect animations. This
report deals with preservation of an animation when replacing the underlying
object (image) entirely. I am not certain how feasible this is, even though it
ideally may be desirable. Requires developer / expert to determine what is
possible.

In any case, it seems less a bug than an enhancement request. Status set to
NEW. Summary edited for clarity (bug 83928 details compression undo) and so
this bug needs to concentrate on image replacement. Severity set to
enhancement.

 1. create a table

Please indicate in greater detail /how/ the table is created in the
presentation. Insert Table? Pasting in a table from Writer or a selection of
cells from Calc? There are numerous ways to create a table in Impress. If a
sample document with a table already included could be provided that would
help. Status set to NEEDINFO. Please set back to UNCONFIRMED once the request
information is provided. Thanks.

I think it is useless to fill a window with all cells changed when they are
thousands, the user will not read them. I think it is enough to say him how
many cells have been replaced when the amount exceeds something like 100 or
1000.

CONFIRMED in LO 4.3.2.2 + Ubuntu 14.04

(In reply to comment #0)
 Created attachment 106877 [details]
 Screenshot which explains it all

Writer, when PDF file is opened, displays its content in quite a weird way -
like some pages are damaged. Though Document Viewer have no such problem
with the same file. Attached PNG file contains screenshot which explains it
very clearly. At the right side of the image is a Document Viewer showng
exactly the same place in PDF as Writer does.

Testing with file
http://download.gigabyte.eu/FileList/Manual/mb_manual_ga-z87%28h87%29m-hd3_e.pdf

Opening the file in Draw confirms the bug. Pages 7-11 (among others) all show
these out-of-place grids of icons.

Testing the same file in Evince 3.10.3 shows no out-of-place grids of icons.

(In reply to comment #5)
I may also add that i tested it with three more different PDF files from
different sources, and the bug was there in all cases. It seems that text is
displayed correctly, but when it gets to image area in the file, it happens.

No grids of icons are shown when I open this PDF in LibreOffice:
http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/mac_pro_late-2013_gs.pdf

Igor: If you find more PDFs that demonstrate very similar problems, especially
PDFs from different sources, please attach/link to them from this bug report.

Thanks!

Hi, Thank You for your help. It turned out not to be a bug at all:
Mendeley experts noticed that I missed to install the
 libreoffice-script-provider-python package. Installing it made
communication between Mendeley LO working fine (with the newest
version of both software as well).

Glad to hear that things are now working properly for you, and that there
wasn't an underlying bug.

I think this checkbox is only valid when you enter the width/height manually in
the text entries above the checkbox.

When you resize with the mouse, you can keep the aspect ratio by holding shift.

Maybe this checkbox should be made like it is in GIMP:

  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: philip...@hotmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: Inherited From OOo
 Component: Presentation

Was browsing through the list of transitions on Windows and Linux and noticed
that these ones didnt work.

= Windows =
shape diamond
fade through black
cut through black
fade smoothly
flipping tiles
outside turning cube
revolving circle
turning helix
inside turning cube
fall
turn around
iris
turn down
rochade
venetian blinds 3d vertical
venetian blinds 3d horizontal
static
fine dissolve
newsflash

= Linux =
cut through black
static
fine dissolve

These were tested on master and i tested 'cut through blank' in 3.3.0 and it
had the same result. When i state that it didnt work, this means that the
screen is blank and then the slide appears after what should have been the
transition.

details here.

As comment 3 indicates, the attached example contains numerous errors. The main
issues / aspects in the document appear to be:

- Text box placement i.e., all p.1 content as shown in MSO2003 screenshot.
- A few small tables i.e., Document/Version and main table on p.2
- Content in tables in header/footer i.e., only displaying on p.2+

The missing data from the main table on p.2 may be related to bug 48378.

In v3.3-4.1 and v4.4 saving to DOC format results in the table breaking over
pp.1-2 having three rows on p.1 (C++, JAVA, AJAX...) and a single blank row
beneath the table header on p.2. In v4.2-4.3 saving to DOC results in identical
format to that displayed in the ODT i.e., two rows on p.1 (C++, JAVA) and the
first row beneath the table header on p.2 being the AJAX one.

Seems to be RESOLVED in v4.2-4.3 and currently regressed in v4.4. Version set
to 3.3.4. Summary amended for clarity.

--- Comment #10 from Owen Genat owen.ge...@gmail.com ---
(In reply to comment #0)
When I finished the document it was 41 pages long, but when I close and
re-opened it it becomes 43 pages long. ... When I open the file I can
see in the bottom bar the number 41 changing into 43 half a second after
 openning the file.

Opening the ODT under GNU/Linux using:

- v3.3.4.1 OOO330m19 Build: 401
- v3.4.6.2 OOO340m1 Build: 602
- v3.5.7.2 Build ID: 3215f89-f603614-ab984f2-7348103-1225a5b
- v3.6.7.2 Build ID: e183d5b
- v4.0.6.2 Build ID: 2e2573268451a50806fcd60ae2d9fe01dd0ce24
- v4.1.6.2 Build ID: 40ff705089295be5be0aae9b15123f687c05b0a
- v4.2.6.3 Build ID: 3fd416d4c6db7d3204c17ce57a1d70f6e531ee21
- v4.3.2.2 Build ID: edfb5295ba211bd31ad47d0bad0118690f76407d

TinderBox: Linux-rpm_deb-x86_64@46-TDF, Branch:master, Time:

These are the number of pages initially displayed in the status bar (Init);
what it updates to after a few seconds (Upd1); and what it updates to after
manually paging through the entire document (Upd2):

vInit Upd1 Upd2
-
3.3 424341
3.4 424341
3.5 424341
3.6 424343
4.0 424343
4.1 424343
4.2 424343
4.3 424343
4.4 424343

The behaviour at least appears to be relatively consistent for v3.3-3.5 and
v3.6-4.4. As a result of this version set to 3.6.7.2. The best way to avoid
rendering issues such as these is to keep these aspects of the formatting an
even multiple of (or readily relatable to) each other:

- Font size (currently 12 pt).
- Line height (currently Single, thus ~14.1 pt).
- Line spacing/leading (currently 0 pt).
- Table cell spacing (currently 2.9/2.9/2.9/11.3 pt).

This is one reason why the 12 pt font size has such currency: it is convenient
to both multiply and divide. As a workaround, perhaps try setting the line
height to a fixed value (16 pt e.g., 1 1/3 the point size) and the table cell
spacing top / bottom to 4 pt or 6 pt. This may give a more stable result.

Rendering under v3.3-4.0 are all OK. Rendering under v4.1-4.4 show the same
problem: the frame (blue graphic) at top-left is anchored to character with
wrap set to through/in background. In older versions of LO this evidently was
not being handled correctly and so was pushing the small table at top-right to
the right and the larger table down the page, keeping positioning as expected.

This is not correct behaviour for wrap through/in background i.e., other
objects should flow over the top / in the foreground. Evidently under later
versions this frame is now being treated in the correct manner, thus causing
the other tables to appear in front. Changing the wrap of this frame to no
wrap fixes the display as expected. Refer attached.

An SVG file generated by HaploPainter using Cairo SVG surface, as described
above

Problem description: SVG (typically produced by Cairo SVG surface) contains
font outlines, which seem to be dropped on import

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a pedigree using HaploPainter (http://haplopainter.sourceforge.net/)

Saving the DOC under v4.1-4.3 in all cases results in the table being broken

... is identical in all versions i.e., table on page 5 does not flow over to
page 6+.

(In reply to comment #2)
 (In reply to comment #0)
I don't konw why, but sometimes the tables are not transferred to the next
  page.
This has to do with one of the (heading?) styles being set as keep with
 next.

In this case I think the problem with the provided DOC is that it is a
table-within-table arrangement i.e., a single cell in the outer table (no
border) containing a multi-page table (with border) and some trailing text
paragraphs inside. Workaround (valid in v4.1+) to resolve the text flow issue:

1. Highlight the outer table (top left corner select whole table cursor).
2. Table Convert Table to Text (use default tab-delimited settings).
3. Highlight only those entries that are to be in the table.
4. Table Convert Text to Table (use default tab-delimited settings).

I am not sure to what extend LO can or is expected to handle table-within-table
arrangements, particular in situations where the outer table is a multi-page
single cell. There may be some limitations. Requires developer comment.

Summary amended for clarity. Version set to 3.3.4.

All versions render the document in the same manner i.e., with the table
commencing on page two. This appears to be an artefact of having the Keep with
next paragraph setting selected for the paragraph text (either via direct
formatting or the paragraph style) and then saving to DOC.

An ODT is rendered with the table immediately following the leading text (table
setting overriding paragraph setting) cf. bug 34957, which describes the same
setting, for the table. In DOC the table is pushed to the next page (paragraph
text setting overriding table setting). This behaviour (for both ODT/DOC) is
consistent across all the versions indicated. Requires a developer to determine
whether current DOC handling method is in-keeping with the DOC specification.

Workaround: Remove Keep with next paragraph setting from the paragraph text
in the table.

Summary amended for clarity. Version set to 3.3.4. Platform set to All/All.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 84332] after upgrade from v4.3.2.1 data no longer displays in Form fields

I'm a little confused. I have nothing displaying in the form.
Characters or numbers.Data looks good when I go to tables and click
on the table. Queries all work. Reports all work.

Hiya Robert,

1) As noted on the other bug, there's a new version pushed to the PPA. Please
update LibreOffice via the PPA and see if the problem is resolved. If it's not
resolved by updating to 1:4.3.2~rc2-0ubuntu1~trusty2 (or later), then

2) Please let us know the full version of the LibreOffice build you're using

In that case, it's possible this is a different problem than bug 84315; we can
then investigate further using TDF-created builds.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 84425] New: PIVOTTABLE: Dynamic Table column field filter drop down menu not activated

2014-09-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=84425

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 84425
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: PIVOTTABLE: Dynamic Table column field filter drop
down menu not activated
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: riggra...@gmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA PossibleRegression
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.3.1.2 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description:

When creating a pivot table, the column field heading filter drop down doesn't
activate or display, you have to try to change layout of the columns to rows to
appear. It happens using a selected data range or a named range.

Tested it in Win XP, Win 8.1, with actual and new user profile of LO 4.3.1.2
and 4.3.2.2
I've noticed after updating LO 4.3.1.2 to 4.3.2.2 in Win XP and trying a new
pivot table for my work, so I tested it in another desktop with 4.3.1.2 with
the same results.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a dynamic table from selected range or named range

2. When the pivot table appears in a new sheet, the column heading has a title
“data”, and I doesn't have the drop down menu, it should have the field title,
and the square icon of the drop down menu of the filter and sorting. (first
left screenshot of testing files)

3. To make the drop down menu appear again, click on the column heading “data”
and drag it to the row fields, as if you try to change the layout, releasing
it, it wont change the layout, but will refresh the column heading with the
correct name and the drop down menu icon. (second right screenshot of testing
files)

4. After that, you con change the layout as is expected, and the filter option
for column works fine.

I have made 3 test files, the first is tested in Win XP and LO 4.3.1.2, with
the original sheet of the file with changes to the data for testing, the second
es tested in Win 8.1 and LO 4.3.2.2, but created a new file and pasted the
data, the third file was tested in Win 8.1 and LO 4.3.2.2 with a new user
profile with the same results; added some screenshots before and after

Current behavior:
No drop down filter options icon for column heading

Expected behavior:
The drop down filter options icon should appear

  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: viag...@yahoo.com
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA PossibleRegression
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.3.2.2 release
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

Please see thread for problem description and screenshots:

http://en.libreofficeforum.org/node/9161

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open Writer
2. Make sure ruler is visible
3. Click on tab stop symbol, located to the left of horizontal ruler, against
the left margin and just below the toolbar (or, in previous versions, at far
left bottom edge of toolbar).

Current behavior:
Gray square behind tab stop symbol only appears when symbol is clicked. Square
disappears as soon as document is saved, or after closing LibreOffice.

Expected behavior:
Gray square should be visible at all times, so that the tab stop symbol is easy
to see (particularly important if user has chosen a dark color for the
application background).

TESTING with LO 4.3.2.2 + Ubuntu 14.04

(In reply to comment #2)
I have the same exact problem. Linked images disappear after save. This
affects Draw and Presentation but is OK in Writer. I found the way to
 reproduce it:

 1. Download the attached files D1.odg, D1.odt, D1.odp and IMG_0570s.jpg into
 the same directory.
 2. Open D1.odg, the image should appear.

Confirmed

 3. Move the image a little bit, press save,
3b. Move it again, press save.
 4. Close the file.
 5. Open it again and the image has vanished. It can be fixed manually by
 Edit/Links... as described earlier.

NO REPRO -- Image remains visible

The presentation D1.odp is affected in the same way

NO REPRO -- Image remains visible

 but the Writer file
 D1.odt works fine.

This part I can confirm: The image does remain visible, as OP describes.

Status: Let's get confirmation on Windows before we mark the bug as RESOLVED.

I'm now facing difficulties to reproduce this even on the machine that
originally exhibited this behaviour (which does not always even have
internet access). So I don't know how to debug this further.

Ok, so closing again as NotABug. Please fell free to reopen if the problem
comes back for you.

Best regards. JBF

Hi tuckfoot,

Thank you for filing the bug. Please let us know which version of libreoffice
you are running and if you could provide us with a sample document so we can
confirm this issue, as we have tested this issue on our .odt files and couldnt
reproduce it.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 34957] ODT containing multi-page table with table setting Keep with next paragraph is pushed to next page

Summary|table in Writer behaves |ODT containing multi-page

   |Keep with next paragraph|Keep with next paragraph
   ||is pushed to next page

--- Comment #11 from Owen Genat owen.ge...@gmail.com ---
Bug 84084 added to See Also list as it describes a similar result for DOC but
for the Keep with next paragraph setting against paragraph text in a table.
It is not clear to me what the behaviour should be for this setting
(fo:keep-with-next=always) against paragraph text and/or a table. Currently
these are the resultant effects in a multi-page table for two file formats:

- ODT, paragraph setting (in table): no effect on table.
- DOC, paragraph setting (in table): table pushed to next page.
- ODT, table setting: table pushed to next page.
- DOC, table setting: table pushed to next page.

Presumably content should be influenced by this setting in a consistent manner
i.e., paragraph kept with paragraph and table row kept with table row? I would
think that pushing content to the next page makes more sense (for a multi-page
table) than having no effect - especially for the table setting. Pushing
content is a clear visual indicator that the setting is in effect. How else can
a table be forced to commence on a new page via styles?

Summary amended for clarity.

It seems that this bugzilla has a 3000 kB per file limit, so I sent a
testfile directly to your mail. Thank you for understanding.

A test file is useless if it not attached to the bug report and available to
developers. Please, remove all data not related to this bug in your test file.
