--- Comment #7 from Marco Guardigli m...@tomware.it ---
I reproduced this bug as follows:

1. create a new writer document, add 5 lines of text. do not add an empty line
at the end.

11
22
333
4
5(last carriage return here)

2. Save in .doc format

3. open it in MSword (i used MS word from office 2013), and the last line will
not be seen.

If you save it from Word, and reopen, it reappears.

NEW HINT:
I discovered that If your last line is empty (there is a standalone paragraph
at the end of the document) then this is not reproducible.

Hi Roman,

Ah, a bit a shame that the starters guide does not explain styles (in some
detail apparently).
Pls look at one of the more advanced Writer styles.
One tip: at the bottom of the window Styles and Formatting, you can choose
Hierarchic. That will show that lots of styles inherit from Default.

You may also ask via http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/community-support/

Kind regards,
Cor

The installation on Ubuntu 10.04 goes fine until the EULA from MS pops up as
dead text - stopping the installation, stopping the effective closure of the
terminal window and basically rendering any future updates or installations -
impossible.
So I have to wipe out my whole setup and start again.

2014-10-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=46447

--- Comment #154 from Brad Richards b...@kri.ch ---
I have seen this bug off-and-on for years, going way back into OpenOffice days.
However, I recently upgraded to Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (with LibreOffice 4.2.6.3),
and the subjective frequency of this problem is *much* higher than before. Just
yesterday I had this problem occur at least a dozen times in the course of the
day.

For what it may be worth: I primarily insert images by taking a screenshot,
editing it in GiMP, copying a region from GiMP, and then pasting this into
Impress.

One of the developers commented above that this problem seems to be triggered
from various places, and they are hunting these places down. May I just note:
When a problem is so recalcitrant that it cannot be fixed over the course of
several years, then something is fundamentally broken. Please consider throwing
away the existing image-handling code and re-designing it from scratch.

As others have pointed out, this is a idisastrous/i error. This flaw alone
has cost users uncounted thousands of hours of lost work. This flaw alone is
reason for companies to avoid adopting LibreOffice.

(In reply to Norbert Thiebaud from comment #13)
and let's be serious here.. this is not 'critical' by any definition of the
term... there is no loss of data, no crash

We'll have to agree to differ then, because I can assure you that trying to
edit a 3 page existing ODT document that showed this behaviour made me switch
to Word in order to get my work done.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 84746] New: android: prune redundant configmgr settings

2014-10-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=84746

Bug ID: 84746
Summary: android: prune redundant configmgr settings
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.3.0.2 rc
  Hardware: Other
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Libreoffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: michael.me...@collabora.com

I've written a tool for this:

android/mobile-config.py

It needs running on main.xcd (the biggest configmgr data file) - and applying
in Makefile.shared - if DISABLE_UI=TRUE - some of the other profiles replicate
the whole LibreOffice UI on Android.

That should chop 45% out of the main.xcd. My profiles suggest that configmgr
initialization is 90%+ of the LibreOfficeKit lok_init time - particularly when
we don't have the dlopen / dynamic linking cost at run-time.

So this should help us start ~30% faster (perhaps). Help merging testing much
appreciated.

2014-10-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=84747

Bug ID: 84747
Summary: EDITING typed characters inserted into wrong sheet
when defined name selected
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.3.2.2 release
  Hardware: Other
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Spreadsheet
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: b...@herbison.com

Created attachment 107476
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=107476action=edit
Spreadsheet with defined name on Sheet2.

When a name is selected, pending characters are placed in the sheet of the name
instead of the sheet where the characters were typed.

Steps to reproduce:
* Open the attached spreadsheet.
* Type 1. Do not press enter or any other key after typing.
* Click the down-arrow next to the name box (right of A1) and click trap.

Expected result:
- 1 in cell A1 in Sheet1, focus on A4 in Sheet2.

Actual result:
- 1 in cell A1 in Sheet2, focus on A4 in Sheet2.

If different cell is selected before typing (for example, C3), the edit is
placed in that cell (C3) in the sheet of the name.

Hi,
I've never had this bug before. But, when upgrading to LO 4.2.x this bug
happens several times (impress).
It seems that there are a lot of duplicates were raised at this time

The bug happens in many ways. Coping and pasting from the net, from Xnview,
linking object. At a moment all the images inserted disappears. But only images
added.
The only workaround for me was to save my file very often.
I've upgrade to 4.3.2, and this bug seems to have gone away. In the other hand,
I've not work a lot with Impress 4.3.2

Impress has a lot of bugs since 4.0
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=72988
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=77523

It' difficult to get the focus on a text frame or on a image

All these bugs are *regressions*, and are graphic problems

Maybe this bug is a side effect of one of them

2014-10-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=84748

Bug ID: 84748
Summary: Selected area not correctly displayed after the Find
bar is closed
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.3.2.2 release
  Hardware: Other
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Spreadsheet
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: b...@herbison.com

Steps to reproduce:
* Create a new spreadsheet.
* If the Find Bar is not visible press control-F to display the find bar.
* Click outside of the Find Bar area.
* Select All (from the menu, with control-A, or by clicking the select all area
left of A above 1).
* Press control-F Escape.

Expected:
- All visible cells tinted as selected.

Actual:
- The bottom row or two (depending on operating system and window size) are not
tinted.

The selection are is correct (as can be verified by repeating the experiment
with text in the boxes and using copy and paste), only the display is
incorrect.

The bug occurs with selection areas other than select all, but select all
was chosen as a simple way to demonstrate the issue.

Observed on Ubuntu and Windows 7.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 83836] FILESAVE: Corrupted content.xml after saving a ODS spreadsheet

2014-10-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=83836

--- Comment #11 from Jan Rathmann janrathm...@t-online.de ---
Today I have been bitten by the bug again, while working on the same file. This
time there was only one occurence of duplicate attributes, namely:

style:text-properties fo:color=#00 fo:color=#ff/

in 2,16701 (row,col).

The tag seems to relate to a field in the spreadsheet that has some text with
color set to red and some other with color set to black. So I tried to change
text color in random field, copied text between fields etc. to find a way to
reproduce the steps one needs to make in Calc to trigger the bug, but
unfortunately I had no success so far - all other files that were created after
that were fine.

I'll attach my modfied spreadsheet again, the faulty version and the manually
fixed one.

Kind regards,
Jan

for what it's worth, the earliest bug entry I found for this is

That is about 12 years now, isn't it? - Actually I don't remember running
LO/OOo, perhaps even the old StarOffice, without this bug.

This is an annoying one =) Neil just fell over this at Collabora; and I
couldn't see what was wrong.

AFAICS if someone enters 'foo' in the entry instead of 'foo' - we should warn
them and/or (better) auto-correct their input to 'foo' instead of 'foo' =)

I imagine that there is some over-complicated thing going on here - perhaps
some ability to use defined names or abstract formulae or ... [ no idea ]. But
for simple string cases we should definitely improve; fixing the help as per
bug#42282 is only a partial solution.

sc/source/ui/condformat/condformatdlg.cxx

has the code for the conditional formatting dialog.

Thanks !

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 84628] gbuild: emit project configuration for Eclipse CDT

2014-10-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=84628

--- Comment #1 from DavidO d.ostrov...@gmx.de ---
It seems that Eclipse has restriction of having multiple projects in the same
directory as Eclipse's project is represented by .project file and only one
.project file can exists in one directory. Due to LibreOffice directory
structure, there are multiple targets/projects in one directory, e. g.:

svx has number of libraries:

svx
svxcore
[...]

One approach to solve this would be to merge the multiple targets in one
Eclipse project and use the union of all includes and defines for all targets
in this subdirectory targets. To stay with svx example above, the solution
would be to create single project svx and include all sources in this directory
tree and use combined includes and all defines from all targets (dvx, svxcore,
...).

I guess it is the VoiceOver part that needs explaining, if not let me know what
part of the steps that needs further explanation.

To start/stop VoiceOver use the key-combination Command+F5. If VoiceOver does
not start press fn+Command+F5. It may be a good idea to take the tour (Learn
more...-button) to learn a few basic commands if you are new to using
VoiceOver.

The most important key-combinations are
ctrl+option+space(perform the default action press buttons etc.)
ctrl+option+arrow key (move the VoiceOver-cursor)

You should however be able to just use the mouse and keyboard as usual to test
the steps outlined in the first column.

Note that typing something in the text field is important and it is first when
you move back to the text field containing text that the weird behavior occurs.

Just tried it with LibreOffice 4.3.0.4 and the behavior is present but
LibreOffice or VoiceOver seems to have gotten an update so it bails out after a
reboot and puts focus on the first element in the dialog, in this case the tab
CMIS-properties.

Document That Is Very Slow with LO 4.3

We have upgraded from 4.2 to 4.3 and found that documents with form controls
are too slow to use. When you file open this document, it chews 100% of the
CPU and opens very slowly and once open, you can barely navigate through it.
My research indicates:

LibreOffice 4.2 works correctly

LibreOffice 4.3 is too slow to use

LibreOffice 4.4 (Alpha) is too slow to use

Test was performed on Linux platform.

We have 100 employees that use these documents and they are not able to perform
this task with LO 4.3.

but the position is still changing.

Edit the X-Axis and set on the tab Label 91° as Text orientation -- all
works as expected.

Error was found on 4.0.3.3. I have tried to reproduce it on 4.3.0 but the macro
open only an empty window (no chart available)

(In reply to Alex Thurgood from comment #12)
 1) Open attachment of comment 10
 2) Sort on master sheet with Lastname ascending - data sorted accordingly
 3) Click on Dependent sheet - note that data has not been sorted
Looks similar with Bug 84055 which is marked as not a bug. New sorting behavior
since 4.3.1 and 4.2.7

Perhaps this report should also be closed.

2014-10-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=84757

Bug ID: 84757
Summary: Adjusting page layout to add columns is causing crash
in VCL settingOptimalLayoutSize
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.4.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: vstuart.fo...@utsa.edu

STR..
1. On a TB39 Windows build of master, open the Page Styles Dialog to the Page
tab (F11 - Page Styles - Default: Modify context, or Sidebar Properties -
Page panel: Size - More button )
2. In the Paper format section make a change (size dropdown, or orientation
radio buttons)
3. Select the Columns tab of the Page dialog
4. LO crashes with Windows C++ Assertion failed error

If Columns are adjusted first, there is no crash when changing page size or
orientation. Issue does not manifest on current 4.3.2.2 release

@Norbert, perhaps I misunderstand the reproducing steps? Have you tried
resetting user profile?
