Closing the file and open it again only the vertical split is still there, the horizontal split is lost. Workaround is to remove the vertical splitter (unsplit) and recreate both again. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 86049] MENUS: Addition of keyboard shortcuts for insert and delete rows and columns
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=86049 --- Comment #9 from Heiko Tietze heiko.tie...@user-prompt.com --- (In reply to Jay Philips from comment #0) We currently have [Ctrl + plus] to adding a cell and [Ctrl + minus] for deleting a cell and i was thinking that we could use Ctrl + Insert for insert row, Ctrl + Delete for delete row, Ctrl + Shift + Insert for insert column and Ctrl + Shift + Delete for delete column. Ctrl+Insert is an alternative for Copy (along with Shift+Insert for Paste). And the question is where you insert the new column/row - left or right. Okay, right now it's only the col left and the row above which can be added by menu. My first idea was ctr+left/right/up/down but these shortcuts are used to jump to the next filled cell (I use it always). And together with Shift it selects the cells between the current and the next one. Alt+left/right increases/decreases the col width; we could override this IMHO. On the other hand, it's in fact dangerous to just press two buttons and loose all data. If you don't see it immediately the undo function wouldn't help. Therefore my (non-working) shortcuts do only add cols/rows. Putting all together I think we should keep the current behavior. If it's unclear where col/rows should be added/deleted, a dialog is shown (unclear in terms of only one or a few cell are selected). However when a column or row is selected the shortcut works immediately as expected. And the new toolbar buttons makes it very easy to modify the sheet. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

You Should Not Think That in the first place ;) The expected behaviour is that you can access the Outline Numbering functionality from the Styles Formatting window. Not for me.. nevertheless, I do like this idea: This problem could be solved be adding an additional Outline Numbering button to the Styles Formatting window as shown in attachment 105326 [details] (see bug 83071) Pls note that the picture shows Outline style I expect that it opens the dialog Outline Numbering. I do understand that it is a 'track change' action, but that doesnt mean You were not in your comment #31 .. that it needs to be under the submenu. I had discussed this at the design meeting and people were fine with the change. Maybe you can bring it up at next week's meeting if you still feel that it needs more discussing. :D so I doubt if the people there had proper insight in the situation. So yes, I think this needs to be looked at again. This function is about to add all changes made by others in different documents to the original document. Note that if text out of registered changes is modified, the merge will fail, so I agree that it's completely related to changes tracking. However, the way it's presented now near Compare document, will make the user ask him the difference between Merge and Compare. So, I support the idea to remove it from the submenu, it makes the submenu clearer and emphasize the Merge function. If the Help reflect the new position, this change is good and will benefit users. Yes i will add a similar reorganization of the sidebar section to calc and writer. Furthermore, if this change would be done it should also be similar done in DRAW. Then we would have a consistency in the different LO applications. Yes it would be good to do it for Draw as well, to bring the consistency with all the apps. Note: One difference I have is that I don't have the CLIP ART GALLERY entry in my LO 4.3? Tools Gallery has been moved to View Clip Art Gallery in 4.4. Regarding the entry HEADER AND FOOTER I agree it should be moved, maybe to INSERT. In CALC you the find a menu item Headers Footers in the menu EDIT. In WRITER we have two menu items Header and Footer in the menu INSERT. In IMPRESS it is currently a menu item named Header and Footer in the menu VIEW. INSERT seems for me to be logical because with this function you would insert a header or footer. But the naming should also be similar (- small typing differences in CALC and IMPRESS). I find this a major problem of having it in different places in different apps. With impress, after editing the dialog, it inserts details into the slide, so INSERT does seem logical here. I think it also seems logical to do the same for calc to keep the consistency between the apps and even there you are inserting. (In reply to Cor Nouws from comment #2) Edit would be my choice. I was always favoring FORMAT, but after Andy's suggestion of INSERT, i think that is more suitable. I was favoring FORMAT because though you are inserting and editing the header and footer, you are also changing the way it looks and how its is being organized. Only I doubt a bit about the Ruler. I would think that belongs in the next group, with Grid, since it refers the active slide. But it's more my feeling that a - IMO - strong argument.. What do you think? I had put Grid separate from Ruler as i was keeping the section with Ruler with entries that change the UI outside of the document area, and the section with Grid with entries that effect things in the document area. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=86192 sophie gautier.sop...@gmail.com changed: What|Removed |Added Status|NEEDINFO|RESOLVED Resolution|--- |NOTABUG --- Comment #5 from sophie gautier.sop...@gmail.com --- (In reply to Alex from comment #4) Hi Sophie, Thanks for the reply. Version: 4.3.3.2 Build ID: 430m0(Build:2) OS is Linux Ubuntu 14.10 The info for languages is in the Language.jpg file. Here the setting is English, so separators, currencies, dates, etc... will be English format The info for date format at cell level is in the DateFormat.jpg file. Here also the setting is English. I think I understand my mistake because I didn't set the language French in the options. yes :) The thing is I may use and French and English and mix them up in documents. you should be careful here with Calc because it impacts not only the display but calculations too. And it seems that LibreOffice doesn't allow to specify specific language for some cells, only for the entire spreadsheet though. If I specify some language in the cell format windows it seems it doesn't remember my choice. Am I clear in my description/analysis ? Yes. However, and I didn't test it with your settings, you should add the following formats to the Date acceptance patterns field: D/M/Y;D/M;D.M.Y;D-M-Y, that should allow you to handle French date formats and may be enough. If you need further help, please come on the users@ list or the Ask forum (info are available here: http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/community-support/ I'm closing this report, as it's a mismatch in your settings and not a bug. I suspect nAlphaBitCount is always zero if present [ but can't be removed because of ambiguity ]. git grep 'new VirtualDevice' git grep ' VirtualDevice(' It'd be great to cleanup other calls to VirtualDevice constructors to give them nice names too I guess with thin sub-classes (?). Download and save the attached test ods file. This file contains conditional formatting in cells A1:A6. You can observe the conditions by going to Format - Conditional Formatting - Manage. 2. Open the saved file, then either: * Copy A1, then paste special only formatting to C1; or * Select A1, click the paintbrush, then apply to C1. -- Conditional formatting is correctly applied to C1. A new formatting condition is created with the range C1. This is expected. 3. But, if you do the following: * Copy A1, then paste special only formatting to C1:C17; or * Select A1, click the paintbrush, then apply to C1:C17. -- Cell formatting for C1:C17 is changed. But, if you go to Format - Conditional Formatting - Manage, you will see that a new formatting condition is created with the range C1:C6, rather than C1:C17. This is wrong behavior. 4. Further, if you save the file modified by step 3, then reopen, you see that cell formatting for C7:C17 are lost. (Of course this is because of the wrong behavior as discussed above in step 3.) [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 86216] Sort Can No Longer Sort
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=86216 --- Comment #6 from m_j_mal...@hotmail.com --- Here is a second, even simpler spreadsheet that 4.2.7.2 cannot sort properly. Ask it to sort by column B ascending with A1-B2 as the range. As for the process described for altering a spreadsheet to remove confidential data, I have examined it. The process would not remove the uniqueness of the numbers of the spreadsheet. I might recommend that LO add a 2 functions to anonymize data in a range. The first function goes through each cell in the defined range. It examines the contents and replaces it and all identical occurences of that data (either numerical or text) with a random equivalent everywhere in all tabs of the spreadsheet. For occurrences found within the defined range, they are marked as done and are not doubly randomized. Text becomes random text of similar length. Numbers become random numbers (never zero) of similar parameters. So $5.45 becomes $10.71, but never 6.024E24 for instance. The second function does not make global searches and replaces, the data in each cell is just replaced with random data of similar nature. Therefore two occurences of $5.45 become different amounts. One might then randomize a spreadsheet with little manual labour while maintaining the action of MATCH and SUMIF operations. If the linking of these functions were not preserved in the randomization of my spreadsheet, it would completely change the nature of sorting it. However, someone will no doubt point out there is some other archane system for making suggestions. Returning to the problem of 4.2.7.2 not sorting correctly, In this reference: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/1389858 Lukebenes reportedly supplied a spreadsheet that 4.2.7 could not sort properly (the same way 4.2.6 did) with either setting of the secret setting. Luke (lukebenes) wrote (in part) on 2014-11-11: ... To be clear, with 4.2.7 there is no way to return to the old style sorting routine. Some spreadsheets that worked fine in Excel and 4.26 require UpdateRefs=True, while others require it to be false. Others are broken with either UpdateRefs setting because of bugs introduced in this new sorting routine. Is it any wonder users are confused? I recommend taking his sample spreadsheets from that thread test_offset.ods and Calc bug.ods and verify those. This matter is so urgent, I hope someone can use a little imagination and use these sources in other bug reports as tests. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
