[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 37315] cropped pictures in .docx file are mangled and in wrong place
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=37315 --- Comment #16 from Andrew Ward and...@award.uk --- In LibO 4.3.2.2, when I import a .docx with pictures, each picture is partially obscured by a large white margin at the top of each picture. Nothing I can do with any of the picture properties will fix it. If I copy the contents and paste into a new document, it's absolutely fine. The pictures are correct. If I re-save the original imported document into a new format (eg, .odt), the white margin is still there. So, it's a document property. I hope this is helpful. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open WRITER 2. Write any word Walrus (using Liberation Serif 48pt) 3. Select the Bullets On/Off icon in the toolbar at the top to have a line numbering for this word 4. Keep in mind the size of the line numbering dot Yes, it appears very tiny. If I put the cursor by it, the font claims to be OpenSymbol 12pt. 5. Save the file as doc / docx First, I saved it as an ODT and reopened it. 6. Close the file 7. Reopen the saved file Ayup Result: The dot is larger in the doc and docx file. After reopening, the font of the bullet 'dot' still claims to be OpenSymbol 12, but it is now much larger (and proportional to the text on the line). So I uninstalled LibreOffice beta, delete all programs left overs, delete profile and install LibreOffice 4.3.0.0.beta1 in C:\Programs\LibreOffice4\ directory just like I did install all other 4.3.x or 4.2 versions before. Stunning, if LibreOffice 4.3.0.0.beta1 is installed in C:\Programs\LibreOffice4 directory then it is crashing all over, but if it is installed in C:\Programs\LibreOfficeDev4 then it is not crashing at all. So all of the LibreOffice 4.3.x are now crashing if installed in C:\Programs\LibreOffice4 and also tried back to install LibreOffice 4.2.7.2 in the same directory (uninstalling/cleaning program left oveers/cleaning profile) and it works perfectly well without crashing. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 86277] New: Filesave: Libreoffice vs Excel 2010 worksheet saved as .xlsx not opened correctly in (python) pandas/xlrd: hidden column information
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=86277 Bug ID: 86277 Summary: Filesave: Libreoffice vs Excel 2010 worksheet saved as .xlsx not opened correctly in (python) pandas/xlrd: hidden column information Product: LibreOffice Version: 4.2.6.3 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: minor Priority: medium Component: Spreadsheet Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: douwevdv...@yahoo.com Created attachment 109452 -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=109452action=edit Minimal example of a working file, and one non-working file. An .xlsx document is created in MS Excel 2010. When opened in Libreoffice, and saved again as .xlsx document (MS Excel 2007/'10/'13 xml format), it seems perfectly readable and writeable in both Excel and LibreOffice. However, opening of said .xlsx file fails using the scientific python package, pandas (which uses the python xlrd module to read/write .xlsx files). WORK AROUND: The non-working .xlsx file can be made working by selecting all not used columns (from C to AMZ or whatever is the last column name), then rightclick and delete columns..., and followed by saving again as .xlsx file. I have attached a zip file with two documents: works_no.xlsx does not open in Python pandas, whereas works_yes.xlsx does work. File works_no.xlsx can be made to open correctly by applying the work-around. The test to perform is, using Python (I use the IPython notebook and interactive shell) and the pandas package: import pandas as pd myFile = pd.ExcelFile(works_no.xlsx) myFile.sheet_names The result of this operation is an AssertionError. When the works_yes.xlsx file is used, the correct output (that is, the sheet names for the file) are correctly displayed. It seems that LibreOffice does write some additional data into some of the empty columns, but I was unable to find any hidden character. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

I opened the repaired odb-file and could successfully open Projektliste3 for edit with german LibO 4.2.7.2 on Ubuntu. I changed the summary, because the real bug is, that LibO created a corrupt odb-file. Even if I do not remember the steps to reproduce, there is a bug at least in some version before 3.6.5.2 and maybe it exists until today. Maybe Projektliste3 was just copied from Projektliste or Projektliste2. Maybe someone could have a look at the code and find some reason, how the corrupted styles.xml could have been created. By default, the test is done with the hypothesis that the mean difference is 2 (always the number two), while in almost every case everybody wants to test the hypothesis of equal means (difference zero). Once the table is generated, it's easy to work around this bug, by storing 0 in the cell Hypothesized Mean Difference (by default, it's 2). But, it's very misleading. The hypothesized mean difference is not shown in the dialog box, and the generated hypothesized mean difference cell is hidden in many cells of various statistics. Steps to reproduce: Create two columns of numbers. Select the data. Go to Data-Statistics-t-test Select an output cell Click OK Observed behavior: The p-value of the test is computed based on the null hypothesis : mean((column A)-(column B)) = 2 Expected behavior: The p-value of the test is computed based on the null hypothesis : mean((column A)-(column B)) = 0 Bugfix: In file sc/source/ui/StatisticsDialogs/TTestDialog.cxx b/sc/source/ui/StatisticsDialogs/TTestDialog.cxx Replace the two lines: aOutput.writeValue(2); aTemplate.autoReplaceAddress(%HYPOTHESIZED_MEAN_DIFFERENCE%, aOutput.current()); With: aOutput.writeValue(0); aTemplate.autoReplaceAddress(%HYPOTHESIZED_MEAN_DIFFERENCE%, aOutput.current()); -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=57492 --- Comment #27 from cuny...@gmail.com --- I have had this same problem only for the past few days. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 46447] Embedded Pictures disappear from Presentation (ODP) [Summary: comment#58, comment#67. Temporary advise: comment#69]
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=46447 --- Comment #186 from Vossman vossma...@yahoo.com --- MY WORK AROUND I posted this earlier and I unsure how well it works in general, but since I started using it, I have had zero problems with missing images. I think the problem is whenever I upgrade there are slight changes to reading the ODF files. So the work around I use is that whenever I want to open up an old file to edit it for a new purpose. I do not open up the file, I create a new file and use the 'Insert' - 'File...' from the menu bar. As far as a fix, I think the ODF import function should check to see if any media files are not being used before purging them. If you recall the ODF file is a zip file with the media files inside. I do not see why it could not work this way. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 86204] Starting angle for a pie chart does not match when .ods opened in Excel 2013
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=86204 --- Comment #2 from Ľudovít Lučenič lluce...@gmail.com --- (In reply to Robinson Tryon (qubit) from comment #1) (In reply to Ľudovít Lučenič from comment #0) I have created a pie chart, where the default value of starting angle equals 90 degrees. This setting causes the drawing in Calc starts at the top (or a most distant spot) either clockwise or counterclockwise based correctly on the other setting. When I open the file with this pie chart in Excel 2013, the drawing of it is offset by 90 degrees and starts from right (my graph has clockwise orientation). I assume the base position between Excel and Calc does not match. Have you tried using an XLS or XLSX file? (I'm curious if the behavior varies between XLS, XLSX, and ODS) Yes, it does. XLS is OK (i.e. same orientation as in Calc), XLSX reports some error while opening in Excel and ODS behaves as described. Can this be solved, please, so that users with Excel do see the graph the same way I create them in Calc? Possibly, although perhaps the base position (as you put it) is underspecified in the file format spec. Please attach an example file to this bug report. If UX ever decides not to move this forward they should close as WONTFIX but it should be some kind of consensus and not one individual disliking the idea. As for the counter-arguments - just fix the goddamn slowdowns is a bit naive. The code for our pictures handling is admittedly quite tangled and the amount of work needed to fix it is quite extensive. Adding a single button obviously is much easier at least until those other issues are worked out. 1 hour of time vs. 100's of hours of dev time is a pretty solid argument why this should be implemented at least as a stop-gap measure. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
