https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45525 --- Comment #7 from A (Andy) stgohi-lob...@yahoo.de --- (In reply to josiasmat from comment #6) Created attachment 113351 [details] Writer document containing table with differently-sized rows and columns. (In reply to A (Andy) from comment #5) Can anybody confirm that this bug still persists with the latest release of LO? I tested with LO 4.4.0.3 on Win 8.1, and yes, the bug persists, but only with respect to rows. Columns are adjusted properly. Attaching a sample document containing a table with differently-sized rows and columns. Try to select some rows, right-click on it and click Row - Space equally. Thank you very much for your very fast reply. I tested it with the by you attached file and the columns are now with LO 4.4 spaced equally without interfering the not selected columns. If I select some cells (e.g. first three rows) and I select to space the rows equally, then all are spaced equally. All have the same height of the largest row before (e.g. of 1.72 cm). Is my understanding correct that you think that it should not be adjusted to the largest row but to the average of the selected rows and that this is from your point of view the still persisting part of the bug? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

I don't see a specific fix mentioned for this bug in the comments below, and this was never marked as independently confirmed (Although perhaps Jean in comment 7 was suggesting as much?), so correct status should be UNCONFIRMED. Please do check, this is a blocker for OSX. The only difference with the primary report is that now it is a 64-bit build (as there are no 32-bit OS X builds anymore). Should I change the version number (to 4.4.1RC1) and hardware (to 64-bit) in the bug report? If it's exactly the same issue, then potentially this bug report will be helpful (especially as existing commenters might be helpful for repro). [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 83726] Applying Styles Does Not Consistently Set Character Properties
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=83726 --- Comment #9 from Owen Genat owen.ge...@gmail.com --- (In reply to Joel Madero from comment #7) I find this behavior to be consistently annoying and if a user wants a style applied, they almost definitely want every property of that style applied. In any hierarchy of application either A overrides/XORs B or it is the other way around. If a paragraph style is moved higher up the hierarchy (to override/XOR directly applied formatting) then directly applied formatting can no longer override a paragraph style, which is a far more serious problem. If the idea of a hierarchy seems problematic/unwanted then some sort of alternative method needs to be proposed (and the ODF/OOXML specs rewritten with this in mind). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 83726] Applying Styles Does Not Consistently Set Character Properties
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=83726 --- Comment #10 from Joel Madero jmadero@gmail.com --- So my proposal is simply this. If there is text written already, and then a user takes the time to select a style, then the entire style (all properties) are applied, at which point these can be undone by manually changing things. For instance if you have a style that has size 20 font, bold and italic, but you want 20 font, bold, not italic, you apply the style, you get what the style promises (20, bold, italic) and then you can select the characters and remove the italics - vs the other way around where by default you get some strange unknown combination of the style applied, and then most users are left wondering why the entire style was not applied. I've been using LibreOffice for years and I had a hard time figuring it out - as did many people on the user list. Imagine a normal user (not a power user, not someone who joins mailing lists, chats, bugzilla, etc...) - we might as well stop pretending like styles is a solution for the average user if that's the approach we're going to take. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

What seems clear is that copying templates is already requested in Bug 50699 as adding Template Changer functionality to core LO. That should be reasonably easy, or even easier bundling the existing extension with the LO installer. It's more important because the extension seems not to be maintained (I don't know where last version came from). [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 89330] New: Cell formula converted to lowercase, including cross-references to other files when having a syntax error
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89330 Bug ID: 89330 Summary: Cell formula converted to lowercase, including cross-references to other files when having a syntax error Product: LibreOffice Version: 4.3.6.1 rc Hardware: Other OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Spreadsheet Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: jfe...@gmail.com On version 4.3.6.2 as found in F21. Build ID: 4.3.6.2-1.fc21 When entering in a cell a formula including a reference to cells in another file, if the formula has a syntax error, the complete content of the formula is converted to lowercase, including the path to the file containing the referenced cells. That is a problem on case sensitive operating systems, such as Linux, and should not happen, at least not on file path components of a formula. To reproduce: - open two sheets, from two different files FileA and FileB, - from sheet FileA, enter a valid reference to a cell in FileB, - the path is shown in the formula with the valid case, - modify the formula to introduce an error, such as an invalid cell reference (='file:///Path/To/FileA.ods'#$Sheet1.A1A instead of ='file:///Path/To/FileA.ods'#$Sheet1.A1), - the complete content of the formula is converted to lower case: ='file:///path/to/filea.ods'#$sheet1.a1a Which makes it even more difficult to fix the formula, as usually you to rebuild it completely if the path is long... -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

What might make confusion is that it's now marked as Component: Extensions. But in no way that should be about changing Template Changer extension, but about adding it to core LO. If that'll help, I suggest that be changed to Component: Framework or Component: Writer (because it works only with Writer). As written many times, Template Changer is one of the most frequent used extensions, and it's really justified to have it in core LO, or at least as bundled extension. Adding new bugs that ask for the same will unlikely help when those ones stay open for years. What might help is that you change bug 89286 to ask for Template Changer to become bundled with the installer (that's more important than Wiki Publisher I guess). https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89097 Markus Mohrhard markus.mohrh...@googlemail.com changed: What|Removed |Added Keywords|regression | --- Comment #5 from Markus Mohrhard markus.mohrh...@googlemail.com --- (In reply to raal from comment #4) (In reply to Markus Mohrhard from comment #3) This was discussed with Eike and we are not going to fix this one. We already consider the cell function unnecessary and are not going to support any style based conditions around that function for external files. In this case function CELL should result #ERROR? Now function returns bad values. let it fail for _all_ external references, regardless whether a file is open or not. I don't agree. As I don't want to turn this into an edit war and we have the rule that a bug marked as WONT FIX by a developer responsible for that part should stay like that I'm removing the 'regression' keyword to remove that bug from the list. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 89356] New: in exported PDF sqrt sign has displaced horizontal bar
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89356 Bug ID: 89356 Summary: in exported PDF sqrt sign has displaced horizontal bar Product: LibreOffice Version: 4.3.6.2 rc Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Formula Editor Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: yury.tarasiev...@gmail.com In exported PDF, in `sqrt` sign rendering, the horizontal bar is displaced, either vertically, or horizontally, or both, depending on what typographic environment `sqrt` is placed in. Proof doc and pdf are attached. I have OpenSymbol substituted with XITS Math (have to keep the same font style for text and formulas), and formulas are in 14pt. In this setup the problem is very visible. However, the out-of-the-box OpenSymbol has the same problem, only less pronounced. Proof pdf is attached. P.S. As the issue, which might or might not merit a separate ticket -- notice how `sqrt {whatever} ^{}` is rendered with extra vertical spacing *under* the sqrt bar -- definitely error in parser. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 62845] Option for Document Viewer Mode (read-only mode by default) required.
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=62845 --- Comment #3 from Terry Corbet tcor...@ix.netcom.com --- The date on the original submission of this request and the comments at that time indicate that someone would give due consideration to the request. I can only guess from the absence of any action that no one, in fact, has really taken up this cause at LibreOffice. Having spent several weeks trying to find a good solution to the requirement for a user to be able to easily navigate -- in both directions -- between the body text of a document and its associated endnotes, I think I can correctly state that, within the various toolkits supporting PDF, there is no good solution available. If is frankly mind-boggling to go through more than a decade of postings and versions of Adobe software to see that they have completely failed to address this fundamental behavior in the reading of on-line text. When the belatedly decided that documents were becoming interactive, they fell into the most fundamental Dykstra trap of 'far too early optimization' by concluding that they knew, better than any user or developer, that the only legitimate functionality concerning navigation would be as adjuncts either to data entry into forms or tracking the development cycle of authoring and publishing a document internally. Annotations, consequently, are very, very ill-suited to providing the sort of user navigation experience that a reader of a document expects. OK, I don't need to go on with a description of the inadequacy of the Adobe Reader [or any of its counterparts created by 3rd parties], the key point is that there is one tool which does provide a very decent, very robust ability for the reader to be re-directed in both directions to and from an endnote whilst reading the document. It is the functionality of your swriter and that is why it is so terribly important that you give us an alternative to the workflow that just uses LibreOffice to product PDF documents to be read via their reader. We need to be able to send .odt files to our readers and let them know how easy it is to open, read, and browse back and forth in an .odt document. Please, please look at the very manageable engineering effort that would be required to deliver a version of the swriter configured as an sreader with almost all controls removed from the screen so that a reader, not a programmer, not a document editor, not a layout specialist, can read the beautiful content that your fine swriter product allows us to produce. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
