[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 89613] Artifacts for icons and other UI elements
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89613 --- Comment #10 from matthias_luebberst...@yahoo.de --- My experience with the latest LO 4.4.2.2 (official RPM installers from the LO web site) using openSuSE 13.1 (64bit), the latest KDE 4 SC (4.14.6): - On my desktop PC (Fujitsu Esprimo, Core2Duo CPU), equipped with a Radeon HD4350 graphics card, everything works fine. - On my laptop (Lenovo R61, Core2Duo CPU), using the built-in Intel 965GM graphics chip, the artifacts appear. I had to switch back to LO 4.3.6 which has only one minor glitch: In the startcenter, the icons on the right show a black background. On both machines, Open GL rendering is turned off in the LO settings. However, in the KDE system settings, on the desktop PC the compositing type is set to OpenGL 3.1 whereas on the laptop it is set to OpenGL 2.0 as switching to 3.1 causes the compositing effects to become disabled. One more observation: On both machines, I'm using the KDE Oxygen theme with packages gtk2-engine-oxygen and gtk2-theme-oxygen installed. Consequently, in the GTK system settings, I selected oxygen-gtk as GTK2 design. On the desktop PC, LO dialogs show Ogygen style checkboxes (i.e. with rounded corners and a real checkmark inside when checked), whereas on the laptop, checkboxes appear (both with LO 4.4 and 4.3) as standard square boxes with a cross inside when checked. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

I couldn't think of and no-one could give me a valid use for such a behavior. Looking back over almost 30 years of using spreadsheets for engineering and financial work, I cannot think of a single use for a copy comment option that would also change or clear the contents of the destination cell. Why check only Paste Comments, unless that's all you want to paste? If a cell comment is part of the cell contents, then there is no sense in having paste content (value or formula) and paste comment as separate options of a paste function. Either the option has a bug because it doesn't do what it's supposed to do (copy only the comment), or the option is misnamed (it doesn't just copy the comment) and should be renamed (copy comment and clear contents) or removed as redundant. If the feature is renamed Copy Comment Clear Contents, I might someday submit a request to add Copy Comment...after MOD() and DATE() are fixed. Until then, I can't risk using Libre-Office Calc for real computing (and since I discovered those problems, I have experienced the program randomly closing without warning). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 82465] Permanent crashes in writer with images
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=82465 --- Comment #10 from thorsten.bran...@brace.de --- Hi, no there is no difference between a fresh and an old profile. Happens on any PC (windows 7 x64) here. I generated a test document as presentation here (https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=81378redirected_from=fdo#c10). It is in fact pretty hard to reproduce the error. It happens frequently when I have a number of documents open, preferably several with many pictures. I am most of the time using full scale pictures and scale them in the Office documents. The problem is reduced if I prescale the pictures and include them smaller (especially for presentations). I have the problem also if I copy a multi page document including pictures to another (also empty) document. In former versions up to 4.3.0 is was guaranteed that any such copy crashes libreoffice. Now it is pretty seldom, maybe every 4th or 5th time. There are many ways to get this behaviour, however, they are not very reproducible. Sometimes it works, a few hours later it crashes. When I have open e.g. a presentation (180 MB), some Text document (80 MB with many pictures) and some other text files, and I drag and drop a graphics into the document - either it crashes or it does not import the picture but offers the DDE filter. If I reopen then the document where I wanted to insert the picture *only*, most of the time it works. We are talking at last 50 pictures in a 100 page document. Unfortunately, those documents are grown documents (operating manuals) that I am not allow to publish (well unless you plan to buy a production unit from us...). All files are on the server currently (SAMBA Server, Linux, 1GBit network), but it does not make a difference. Tried remote and local with the same results. Drives are mounted as drives (u:\...). I always upgrade libreoffice if it indicates that a new version is available. I will download today the current one (it does not say there is one, yet) and see if the problem reduces. Actually this problem started back in the OpenOffice days. StarOffice (yes, I am a tad older) work with graphics just *perfect*. OpenOffice had its troubles, but the older versions worked more or less okay. Then I switched to LibreOffice and with every major revision the graphics handling got worse. It does not deplace the pictures, but very often in the middle of work a file not accessible is displayed were a graphics has been - as soon as I save then, I loose the graphics. Typically random or all graphics are lost. To repair this, I have to end LibreOffice with the task manager and reopen the (older) document. If I just close the document and reload, the problem persists. I assume that there is some kind of memory bug or handler issue with graphics - independend if they are linked or embedded. Don't get me wrong, I really like LibreOffice, but it can be a pain in the neck when working with graphics. They are our product branding, and should probably remain the design default despite a users UI selection for a different font set. To protect branding, guess we need to provide an option, probably in Expert Config, to also follow the user assigned font choice in StartCenter. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 49500] FORMATTING: Applying style modification works only once
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=49500 --- Comment #3 from Goran Rakic gra...@devbase.net --- I can confirm that the bug is still present in LibreOffice 4.4.2 If some style changes are applied, and then the same setting is changed back to the old value as before the dialog was open, tha apply button will not work. Steps to reproduce: 1. Type something 2. Right click and open the Edit style dialog 3. Go to Alignment tab 4. Change the Options to Right, click Apply - it works 5. Change the Options to Center, click Apply - it works 6. Now before closing the dialog, change the option back to Left, click Apply and it will not work Clicking OK follows the Apply - it would not change the setting if reverted. One need to close and open the Edit style dialog again. I guess there is some diff algorithm used for Apply/Ok buttons and that it compares changes against old values before the dialog was open, and does not reflect updates made with Apply while the dialog is still open. So reverting back to the old value behaves as no change, continue. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=84521 Pierre-Eric Pelloux-Prayer pell...@gmail.com changed: What|Removed |Added Attachment #114564|0 |1 is obsolete|| --- Comment #18 from Pierre-Eric Pelloux-Prayer pell...@gmail.com --- Created attachment 114565 -- https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=114565action=edit naive patch (sorry about the duplicate previous comment) Had a quick look at this issue. AFAIU the problem is indeed in the fallback code of OutputDevice::GetTextOutlines(). This code seems to be barely used (if ever) on Linux so I'm not sure it gets a lot of attention. The bug cause is an invalid scaling value computed in text.cxx: double fScaleX = static_cast double (nOrgWidth) / nWidth; double fScaleY = static_cast double (nOrgHeight) / nHeight; If you remove the call to: aFont.SetSize( Size( 0, GLYPH_FONT_HEIGHT ) ); a few lines above this will fix the issue. Another solution would be to drop (all?) this fallback code and make sure that the CoreText backend works properly. The attached patch does this in a naive way (and it fixes the issue). Basically instead of propagating CT errors up, it will catch them and ignore the problematic glyph. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 90418] New: Wrong number of bytes when reading file opened in libreoffice calc on cifs
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=90418 Bug ID: 90418 Summary: Wrong number of bytes when reading file opened in libreoffice calc on cifs Product: LibreOffice Version: 4.2.7.2 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Calc Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: jds.bugzi...@gmail.com Created attachment 114566 -- https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=114566action=edit Short source code to reproduce error When reading a CSV file from cifs mounted path which is already open with full read/write permission in libreoffice, fread (in C) returns an incorrect file size for the CSV file when reading 2**17 or more bytes at a time. If the file is opened in read-only mode, the correct file size is returned. Share is mounted through fstab, and the error still occurs mounting with pamount or mount. The problem does appear to be with libreoffice and not cifs/gvfs as fread returns the correct file size when any another application has the file open in either read-only or read-write mode, e.g. a text editor. Likewise, when reading less than 2**17 bytes at a time, the correct file size is also returned whether or not the file is opened in read-only mode. Many libraries are built using fread, and so returning the wrong file size will likely cause segfaults. This bug first manifested for me using python/pandas. Short sample code attached to reproduce problem. In order to test, place CSV file on a cifs or gvfs share, open with libreoffice, then run the script, pointing it to the same file. It will report the file size as 131072 bytes, whereas it is actually 131 bytes. If you recompile the test code with a chunk size 2**17, it works fine, or if you run it with libreoffice opening the file in read-only mode. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
