Would be quite annoying for users who want to get another function like
 =sd().

No it wouldnt effect users who wanted to get to =sd(), as they would simply
type =sd and it would likely autocomplete to =sd().

The function returns the last that is equal or less than searched value when
sort order is defined as sorted ascending.

As there is not enable the option:

Menu/Tools/Options/LibreOffice calc/Calculate - Search criteria = and must
apply to the whole cells.

the function return the last equal or less containing the searched value,
enable the option and results become corrects.

In my experience it's not a very good idea use a sort order in the function
when keys for search are strings or unique keys. On the other hand useful.

Please review the help:
https://help.libreoffice.org/index.php?title=4.4/Calc/Spreadsheet_FunctionsLanguage=en-USSystem=WINVersion=4.4#bm_id3152809.

Resolved as not a bug. Please if you are not agree, please reopen it.

It functions great, but can we have the buttons aligned to the right, so they
look in place with the vertical alignment buttons above it. Also can we sort
them as demote, promote, move down, and move up, as i recently found out that
is the correct order for these buttons based on the usage metrics.

It would then be great to push this into 5.0, along with the fix to the indent
buttons (bug 91944), so it can be added to the release notes. Thanks again for
the help/fix.

Hi, i'm using Libreoffice Version: 4.4.3.2.and confirmed its not on the drawing
toolbar as well. As previously mentioned, this is a common user feature and
should be standard on every drawing toolbar (see my pic).

Also, I would recommend standardizing the default color for lines to thecolor
black not blue. All other shapes are fine.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 73071] Other: Sidebar: Styles are missing from Properties

2015-06-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=73071

--- Comment #25 from Yousuf (Jay) Philips philip...@hotmail.com ---
Styles are treated differently between the different apps -

Writer - Paragraph and character styles
Calc - Cell styles
Impress - Graphic and presentation styles
Draw - Graphic styles

So with this difference, the best approach would be to create a styles section
in the properties tab that would sit above the character section and it would
contain comboboxes of the needed style types.

The primary style combobox (e.g. paragraph styles for writer) would have a
preview of the style in it and it would have a large height, while the
secondary style combobox (e.g. character styles for writer) wouldnt have a
preview and would be of standard height. The size and preview of these
comboboxes can be seen in attachment 105848.

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=91988

--- Comment #5 from Julien Nabet serval2...@yahoo.fr ---
Just some findings.
From propertysethelper, I noticed 2 classes which inherit from it:
- TabWindowService (see
http://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/framework/source/services/tabwindowservice.cxx#85)
- Frame (see
http://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/framework/source/services/frame.cxx#127)

In our case, only Frame class is used.
Indeed, after some gdb session, I noticed the process went this order:
1) call of Frame ctr
2) call initListeners method
3) 2 same warnings:
warn:fwk:3350:1:framework/source/fwi/threadhelp/transactionmanager.cxx:257:
TransactionManager...: Owner instance not correctly initialized yet. Call was
rejected! Normally it's an algorithm error ... wrong use of class!
4) call of initialize method which itself sets E_WORK

So there's a call to m_aTransactionManager.setWorkingMode( E_WORK ); but too
late. Indeed after 2), we're in E_INIT state.

In certain instances it is possible to get the correct outcome when deleting a
number and ordinal indicator and typing in new text.

1. New Text Document.
2. Type “This is the 1st test.” and Enter.
3. Double click on “1st” and Delete.
4. Type “2nd” and Space and delete extra space.
Result:
The “2” is normal and the “nd” is in superscript.

Sometimes after the text has been deleted, the superscript icon in the toolbar
is on, but if you type something anyway it will be normal. If you go back and
try the steps again with what was already changed then it will not work. Also,
typing over the selection does not work. If the ordinal number is at the end
of a paragraph then it will not work (with no period). If there is more than
one in the same paragraph then it will only work on one of them (This is the
1st time the 2nd has been tested).

Opening a document and using this method on existing numbers and ordinal
indicators does not work but typing new text in, selecting it, deleting it, and
replacing it, does work. The only way to change existing documents is to:
A)
1. Select number and ordinal indicator.
2. Ctrl + m.
3. a. Delete or
   b. Type over selection.
4. a. Type intended text or
   b. Enter space.
B)
1. Select number and ordinal indicator and space.
2. a. Delete or
   b. Type over selection.
3. a. Type intended text or
   b. Enter space.

With option A you need to enter a space after it in order for it to
auto-correct. This leaves you with an extra space that needs to be deleted.
So...option B.

I thought for the times that it does work, when deleting a selection there is a
check for a normal positioned character at the beginning and a superscript
character at the end and post-deletion the character position is defaulted to
normal (the selection may cover more than just the number and ordinal indicator
so checking for one digit followed by characters with superscript would not be
sufficient). I also tested manually applied superscript as ordinal numbers and
superscript between spaces and selecting and deleting did not revert to normal.

Is it possible to auto-correct to a field that holds the ordinal indicator so
that typing after it or deleting it would not result in superscript text.
Shame there is no Unicode for the characters.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 92046] New: Libre Office 5.0.0.0 x64 (Writer) - Immediate Crash on Start Up.

2015-06-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=92046

Bug ID: 92046
Summary: Libre Office 5.0.0.0 x64 (Writer) - Immediate Crash on
Start Up.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.0.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: siser...@gmail.com

This problem was first encountered with the first x64 LO5 Alpha. I have so far
been unable to identify any possible cause in my system set up. The problem
still exists in the latest x64 LO 5 Beta 3 build.
Only the x64 build is affected
All other LO 4 versions (inc 4.4) work flawlessly.

**Steps :-**

*open Libre Office (Office startmenu.) select existing document (any
document) to open. Document loads andwriter immediately crashes when load
is complete.*

**or:-**

*open Libre Office (Office start menu.)
select create new text document
Writer loads and immediately crashes when new document template load is
complete.*

**or: -**

*open Libre writer
Writer loads and immediately crashes when new document template load is
complete.*

In all cases, the office.bin process remains running after the UI crashes.
The Behaviour is the same with a completely fresh profile.

Aside from being a little suspicions about JRE (8.45), I'm out of ideas.
Regards
Eric M

BTW, LO 5.0 also uses 4 for directory profile.

Yes, only the developer versions uses libreofficedev/4 instead of
libreoffice/4, which should be corrected on the wiki.

--- Comment #4 from Gordo gordon1dr...@yahoo.com ---
I tried again today and it didn't work so I thought maybe I got the version
wrong. I repeated the test and it crashed (LibreOffice has stopped working).

Just highlighting some empty cells in Calc and using that also works. I did
not escape after copying the cell and I did not escape or click somewhere else
after the paste.

While typing this I had copied some cells in Calc and closed the application
and it crashed so I guess the Writer part does not matter.

No, there is something wrong with blinking and docx. You can use clear
formatting, save and the blinking is gone. But if you can reproduce it easily.

New doc

1) Type some text.
2) Select All
3) Format Character Font Effects - Turn blinking on
4) Save to docx
5) Reload doc
6) Select All
7) Format Character Font Effects - Turn blinking off
8) Save to docx
9) Reload doc

Now the blinking is on again.

Tested with v4.4.4.1 under windows 7 x64 and v5.0.0.0 b3 under mint 17.1 x64.

--- Comment #5 from Beluga todven...@suomi24.fi ---
(In reply to MM from comment #4)
No, there is something wrong with blinking and docx. You can use clear
formatting, save and the blinking is gone. But if you can reproduce it
 easily.

 New doc

 1) Type some text.
 2) Select All
 3) Format Character Font Effects - Turn blinking on
 4) Save to docx
 5) Reload doc
 6) Select All
 7) Format Character Font Effects - Turn blinking off
 8) Save to docx
 9) Reload doc

Now the blinking is on again.

 Tested with v4.4.4.1 under windows 7 x64 and v5.0.0.0 b3 under mint 17.1 x64.

Reproduced.

Lowering severity as workaround exists:

It is possible that the VclPtr (with Noel's fixing) fixes this crash; unclear -
please can you re-test with a very recent 5.0 inculding the fix ? =) I couldn't
reproduce it at least.

Please bear in mind that pressing 'Escape' while running a PPS should indeed
exit the app - but that is not a crash; just how PPS (packed up auto-presenting
presentations) behave - they start, auto-run, and then on close exit ;-)

http://en.libreofficeforum.org/node/390

Please re-open if problems persist in 5.0; thanks !

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 40272] VIEWING:odt-doc conversion (Problem with numbering and paragraph indentation in lists)

2015-06-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=40272

--- Comment #10 from Gordo gordon1dr...@yahoo.com ---
I opened up the odt file and turned Restart Numbering on for the item after the
heading “A Complex List” and saved as a doc. The doc file then displayed the
numbering correctly after reloading. The Restart Numbering has to be there for
the filter when converting so I do not think that is a bug.

I created a new text document and turned on Numbering and created different
levels. On one of the levels I placed the cursor before the text and
backspaced to clear the number. I then saved it as a doc and reloaded the
document. The Numbering icon was off and indentation was missing. I repeated
this test and saved it as a docx and got the same result. The numbering
(formatting, not the number) and indentation is not lost when saved as odt.

Example ods file showing problem

The attached spreadsheet is an extract from a larger sheet but shows the
problem. When opened, the sum in cell B8 is incorrect. It should be the same as
cell D8. Pressing F9 to recalculate B8 does not correct the sum. Pressing
CTRL-SHIFT-F9 does correct it as does changing a value in column B.

I think this spreadsheet started as an excel file then was used in OpenOffice
for a while before being maintained in LibreOffice.

Problem was found in version 4.2.7.2 on Linux and also exists in 4.3.5.2.

Adding associated file-type icons to the left column (the space is already

This would be a UI match to the New-drop-down menu of file types.

(In reply to MM from comment #2)
 Duplicate of https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=91590 ???

Not the same, as attachment 116500 shows the wrong result in 4.2.

However, I tested with 3.5.0 and the wrong result is not shown!

Therefore the cause of the problem can be found by bibisecting.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 91194] FILESAVE: xlsx doesn't retain spreadsheet dimension information (column characters)

Created attachment 116503

Execution of in2csv after column removal

Following instructions to install csvkit on Debian Jessie 8 as root:

apt-get install python3-pip
pip3 install csvkit

And executing (not as root) before and after first column removal (Mount)
through LibO:

in2csv --sheet Sheet2 test3.xlsx

Please note that the attached file is test3.xlsx-3 and you have to rename it
to test3.xlsx

I'm not sure if this dumps from in2csv are as expected. I can see some
different way to show the data (despite of the column removal). In that case, I
can confirm this bug on:
