With the following facts i would agree to close this/my request: * The amount of entries is limited which is intended (i was not aware of that). * The operating system could provide that functionality (argument from your mentioned bug 80934, thats correct). * The implementing enhancement (bug 80934) suggests a fimilar way to find the desired document. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

So if we're lucky someone just fixed in the 5.1. When you say it looks different in Word, can you describe how? When I tried it, chunks of the text were swapped around compared to where LO had it. To my mind the docx has to look 'right' on Word or there isn't much point in exporting to it. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93675 --- Comment #8 from Joel Madero jmadero@gmail.com --- A couple points: This is a low priority bug - yes you use it in this very particular way but I've been using LibreOffice (and a contributor) for years and I can say with full confidence that the vast majority of users don't use it like this (you're using an unpopular feature...these charting type features); Plus - it's a non-native format (docx); Lastly, just know that low does not mean that a volunteer won't fix it, it's an *objective* criteria as to how impacted our users will be because of the bug. If a *volunteer* thinks this bug is interesting, they will fix it (whether it's highest or lowest or something in between). This could happen tomorrow or it could happen years from now...that's how the project works. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 93614] Detect hanging OpenGL drivers disable GL ...
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93614 --- Comment #11 from Regina Henschel rb.hensc...@t-online.de --- I have now tested it with an own debug-build with Version: 5.1.0.0.alpha1+ Build ID: d3de490437df4c9093f32e97fc185066d64c0f46 Locale: de-DE (de_DE). A current daily build for 32bit Windows is still not available. Start LO, load document media_embedding.odp, start presentation, press Esc. Use OpenGL for all rendering was always off. A Hardware acceleration off, Allow OpenGL off: Edit mode in 5s. B on, off: Edit mode in 2s. C off,on : Edit mode in 5s. D on, on : Edit mode in 4s. Presentations with regular content react immediately on Esc key. But it comes back into edit mode, that is an improvement. Start LO, load document media_embedding.odp, start presentation. Click on free area. Because the presentation has only this one slide Click to exit presentation should appear. Use OpenGL for all rendering was always off. In all four combinations A,B,C,D listed above, I get this: After the click nothing happens, after around 20s the mouse pointer disappears, still nothing happens, I have waited further 40s. When I call task manager, then LO reacts immediately and shows the Click to exit presentation text and after click goes to edit mode. So I need not kill the process, but behavior is still not correct. When I set Use OpenGL for all rendering to on, then the whole UI is damaged, so I did not test combinations with that. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 93719] New: MAILMERGE: Freezes On Step 5: Adjust Layout in OS X Or Does Not Show Preview on Windows 7
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93719 Bug ID: 93719 Summary: MAILMERGE: Freezes On Step 5: Adjust Layout in OS X Or Does Not Show Preview on Windows 7 Product: LibreOffice Version: 5.0.1.2 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Mac OS X (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: kay.wro...@gmx.net Created attachment 118231 -- https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=118231action=edit Sample addresses for Mail Merge Wizard. The data is copied from a file that was downloaded from another Internet location here: http://spreadsheetpage.com/index.php/file/mail_merge_demo/ Running the Mail Merge wizard in LibreOffice 5 Writer hangs on Step 5: Adjust Layout and requires user to force-quit the program. On Windows 7, this step will not hang, but the expected preview frame inside the left panel does not show. In addition (on Windows), once user steps forward to Step 6 and then decides to click Go back, the wizard moves to Step 4 and Step 5 is greyed out and inaccessible from that point on. Steps to reproduce the problem for OS X: 1. Open LibreOffice and start a new Writer Document. 2. Click on Tools, Mail Merge Wizard. 3. Select Start from a template radio button 4. Click Browse button 5. Select Business Correspondence from Categories and Modern Business Letter from the Templates list. Then click ok 6. Click Next 7. Choose Letter and click Next 8. Click Select Address List... 9. Click Add... 10.Browse to the file containing the address data (you can use the spreadsheet I attached to this bug report) 11.Select the newly added file data source and click Ok 12.Verify that item 4. Check if the address data matches correctly has all the fields properly mapped (if you use the attached file, they should all be populated now) 13.Click Next 14. Leave all things as is on the Create a salutation wizard page (Step 4) and click Next At this point, the wizard will move to Step 5 and display Adjust Layout panel. It will show several fields towards the left side of the right panel area. The right side of the right panel area should normally display a Preview window. Instead, LibreOffice 5 will now become unresponsive and a spinning Beach Ball will appear, indicating that the application is not responding. It will stay like this until the user force-quits LibreOffice. On Windows 7, this step will also look exactly the same with no preview showing in the right side of the right panel, but LibreOffice will allow user to continue the wizard. So on Windows 7, follow the next steps to see the other odd behavior which I think may be related to this bug: 15.The wizard is now on Step 6: Edit Document. At this point, the list of steps in the left panel show Step 5. Adjust Layout as greyed out. Click Back button 16.The wizard will step over Step 5 straight back to Step 4. User will expect to be back on Step 5 instead. 17.Click Next. The wizard will step over Step 5 again straight to Step 6 On Windows 7, if the user continues with the wizard, properly merged documents will be created. On OS X, the wizard cannot be completed and the user is left without any merged document(s). I am using the version indicated in this bug report (5.0.1.2 release) on both OS X (Yosemite) and Windows 7 SP1. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93606 --- Comment #21 from V Stuart Foote vstuart.fo...@utsa.edu --- @Peter, * (In reply to Peter Raynor from comment #20) I would be grateful for some help as to where to correct the fault or should I roll back for say 2 months before the upgrades and try again? Until you get your Windows OS issues sorted, there is nothing that will change in LibreOffice packaging that can make any difference. The problem is with your Windows installation and with Policies that have been set--intentional or not. See https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/aa368359%28v=vs.85%29.aspx You can try poking at things with the local Group Policy Editor -- gpedit.msc -- run from a command window Run as Administrator and navigate to Local Computer Policy - Computer Configuration - Administrative Templates - Windows Components - Windows Installer. On the right hand panel, review the settings, they should all probably be Not configured. But if they have been configured -- the Allow user control over installs corresponds to the EnableUserControl set in registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Installer. So to set the value to that to 1 in the registry, set the value Enabled. If a bunch of elements there are set other than Not configured something weird has happened to security on you system. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 93530] menu non-rendering on click ...
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93530 --- Comment #4 from Michael Meeks michael.me...@collabora.com --- My start on this was (it seems) a big bogus; we don't really need to glFlush there at all =) After adding glFlush's across the code, and binary chopping down to a single nonsensical data-point - I assume memory corruption / non-initialization instead. Reading: https://www.opengl.org/wiki/Common_Mistakes#Swap_Buffers It seems we badly need to glClear() our buffers before we begin rendering; I pushed a patch that does this and makes the menus work for me on click - and pleasant it is to see them too. We should prolly also disable the Windows direct GDI calls that wipe this memory with direct FillRect() calls very early in their creation to avoid flicker potential aggravation.
