Hello,

I'm afraid I still can't upload the affected file because it's not mine.

However, it might be useful to you if I comment on recent changes I've noticed
in LO 5.0.1 (I use the portable version).

1. The word counter doesn't freeze any more.

2. In fact, words are counted before the file is open: this behaviour is new.

3. As soon as the file is open, the page counter starts working as usual.

4. Another new thing is that the word count shows a different result. It used
to indicate slightly below 3 million words, and now it says the file contains
around 70 words (I assure you it is exactly the same file). The new result
for the word counter is wrong, as Microsoft Word indicates what I used to get
in LO: slightly below 3 million words.

since the release of ubuntu natty (11.04) the netbook version has been unified
and is now part of the ubuntu-desktop edition, this has been done via the unity
desktop software.

you may now use the standard ubuntu desktop CD image to install on net-books
with specifications such as:

Intel Atom processor @ 1.6 GHz
386 MiB of system memory (RAM)
4 GB of disk space
Screen of 1024x600 resolution
Graphics chipset with support for visual effects

This also applies to Kubuntu. Using Kubuntu you can switch between the netbook
GUI and the default desktop after installation.
The GUIs LO 4.4.5 and  LO 5 don't differ recognizably to me. That is why
everything should work as perfectly as before with LO 5.

Thanks for you answer.

Unfortunately, I don't know anything of the internal functioning of the
"LibreOffice team", and I don't have knowledge and time to learn it. Also, I
just know the basic use case of our school, so if tell you "I want the mail
labels UI to be like this", I would certainly miss some other use cases.

So sorry, but my proposal here can only be "When possible, please rework the
mail labels UI to suppress/avoid the problems described in my first comment,
that I think are really blocking the LibreOffice adoption by companies".

Whenever you want to discuss about the usage we have, or want us to give an
opinion about a future UI design, the secretary and I would be glad to help.

I like to use just the MONTH and DAY in a column 
for Accounting entries. (USA ?)

So I add to the bottom of your  DATE  Format List:

M/D  for month and date, 9/3, with NO "0" placeholder, as

M/DD  will have 9/03 with "0" placeholder, and

MM/DD   will have both,  09/03,  showing.

Easy setup, for me to add, as well as learn changes.
yet different from the other formats.

I do not like the LEADING ZEROES either.
I have to UNCHECK that box every time.

Go back it's not an issue, but I thinks you need uninstall the last version to
downgrade.

There is a program to install several version in parallel:

Being the issue only with an specific file, please could you verify if clearing
all data in that, the issue remains?, if so could you please then attach the
cleared file, there is not other way to verify the issue.

Felipe, thanks for the feedback. By now I re-read the entire bug and am unsure
what this bug is about. From what I read there are two issues here:

1. PDF export mangles the document (we need exact a) b) comparison of what the
document looked like in LO and what is broken in the exported PDF. Currently we
do not know what we are looking for. Please be as specific as possible.

2. SVG not displayed correctly in LO: Again, I am not sure what we are looking
for. I am seeing a note staff with a "W" on it. Is that the expected result or
not? If not, again a) b) would be important to have.
Regarding the SVG I did open the file in Chromium, Firefox and Safari: Only
Safari did show a staff with notes in it. Firefox, Chromium (and LO) did
display a staff with a "W" in it.

To move things into a useful direction I am tempted to suggest to create new
bugs - one for each problem (that's the general policy anyhow). Then again, if
Firefox and Chromium fail to properly display the SVG, LO has some great
company and I'd want some dev input about this specific SVG file.

I could not find an appropriate way to copy and paste a mathematical formula to
LibreOffice Writer.

Using LibreOffice Math, I selected Edit > Copy but the function that was pasted
to the clipboard was not the formula that I had copied to the clipboard.

How is this fixed? I am using version 5.0.0.5

Are you sure you have defined the path to the template correctly in Tools -
Options - LibreOffice - Paths?
I tested with your template and when I changed it and opened a previously
created document, it asked if I wanted to update styles and it worked ok.

You marked the version as 5.1 alpha0, but you are talking about 5.0.
For me, the buttons work ok in both 5.1 and 5.0.

a) Copy in Math, and in Writer Menu/Insert/Object/Formula and paste.

Reproducible with LO 5.0.3.0+ built at home under Ubuntu 15.04 x86-64 with gcc
5.1.
We encounter the same behaviour with any invalid character (in the meaning of
LO Calc), for example ± or ¨

Right now the only way to rotate a Data Label is around its center.
We should be able to rotate it around the edges.

Use Case: 
If I have a line chart with the line going lower left to upper right, you may
want to have the labels turned upper left towards lower right to improve
readibility and visibility. Right now, if you do that, the label ends up
pointing towards a non existing point because it is being rotated around the
center from a line above or to the side of the data point.

In the example document I changed stuff in every line and the vertical bar
always appeared.

Thanks for taking effort to write about this problem.
Basically ( ;) ) you see the same behaviour as if you work in your document
with the key board.

You can work with the TextTables (thiscomponent.TextTables) that represent a
different context.
Or you could do jumpToFirstPage and jumpToStartOfPage ..

If you accidentally add § into a formula will cause the rest of the formula to
be erased.  This is specially annoying in keyboard layouts where § is next to 1
so it is easy to hit by accident.

How to reproduce/example:
In all you should enter a calculation formula in a cell and see that it
produces the expected value and that when you click on it the edit bar shows
the right formula. I will use =2*2*2 as example in the following.

First example:
Change the middle 2 to a § producing =2*§*2 and press enter. You get the
expected Err:501 as cell value, but going back to edit you see =2* in the edit
box, so everything starting from § was truncated.

Expected behavior: Have =2*§*2 in the edit box so could change the § into the
meant 1


Second example:
Undo or type in =2*2*2 again to reset for next:
Change the first 2 to a § producing =§*2*2 and press enter. You get the
expected Err:501 as cell value, but going back to edit you see Err:501 in the
edit box, so everything including the = was truncated.

Expected behavior: Have =§*2*2 in the edit box so could change the § into the
meant 1

Third example:
Type in directly a new formula =§*2*2 and press enter. You get the expected
Err:501 as cell value, but going back to edit you see Err:501 in the edit box,
so everything including the = was truncated.

PPTX with a shape inside a group. In LO the rotation is wrong.

The attached PPTX, rotation-group.pptx, has a 'Lightning Bolt' shape grouped
with an image.
When importing to LO, the shape rotation and position are wrong.

The rotation-ungroup.pptx is the same PPTX with the 'Lightning Bolt' and image
ungrouped. Now when importing to LO, the shape rotation and position are
correct.

Tested with LO 5.0.1.2 and 5.1.0.0.alpha1+ on Windows 7 and Ubuntu 15.04.

When choosing a lay out with two text boxes above each other, I see that one
allows to add text, and the other 'converts to the image'.

You can write on an inserted image as shown in your screen copies. In this case
moving the image moves the text too.
You can add a text object upon an image, in that case you have 2 objects that
can be moved independently. To do that click on the T button on the toolbar at
the bottom of the window and draw your text box where you want.

I wouldn't know (when it came in). I have been on OpenOffice for the last
years, forced by the regression of displaying .svg and .eps. With 5.X the
display of these formats is back, and so am I.  ;-)

I haven't explored this bug in detail, but I was of the impression, that the
text boxes scaled around the (again) resized images. Maybe I was too stupid to
do what you did, and then I stand corrected. 
If not, the concept would be braindead, yes, braindead, because the layout
boxes are basically boxes for text: title, one box, two columns, 2 columns by 2
rows, etc. *If* one wanted this behaviour to be 'good', a distinction between
text and image boxes ought to be done. *Then* images may well snap to image
boxes, like text size can be set to snap to text box sizes. 
But when I decide for 2 columns per slide, this is usually meant as 'two
columns with text and drawings, images; NOT just 2 images by default.

Yes, thanks for agreeing that this does not make sense in many situations. Like
in almost all of mine: my way of working is to drag in an image, size it to fit
to the slide, and then add test, as text box, or - preferably - with layout,
because then the text is all lined up identical in subsequent slides.

When i enabled 'Use OpenGL for all rendering' and 'Force OpenGL even if
blacklisted' and it crashed, it would automatically disable 'Use OpenGL for all
rendering' on load but wouldnt disable 'Force OpenGL even if blacklisted'
resulting in it not opening. Should i report this as a new bug?

'Format Selection' used to be a text button and now its has changed to an icon
button. The icon button is the same size as any icon button on a toolbar that
users click, so i'm not sure that the situation has become less convenient.

@ux-advise: What are your points of view?

the foregoing might be unique & therefore would indicate insufficient testing.
the problem starts on page 5 through 7 of the attached. when a paragraph is
split by a frame, the font of 2nd half is changed to white (illustrated by
highlighting the whole paragraph or changing its font color). when you move off
the page, the problem reappears.

 i guess i have to attach the file after submitting.
 this exists with liberation sans narrow, arial narrow & archivo narrow.
 it is not the result of a frame crossing a column or header boundary.
 i use frames to easily move tables around. use of a text box proved to be
worse & is probably should be reported but the 4.2 writer guide doesn't mention
text boxes.
 please ignore the yellow hi lights as they will be the subject of future bug
reports.
 i'm sending the whole document as deleting the 1st 4 pages muddies the issue.
 i have free localing within the US and would be happy to show the problem via
teamviewer 10 or equivalent.

Adjusting summary as this is about a file produced with Save as and not export.
For me, the resulting file looks ok in Firefox 40 & IE 11.

May be I should have opened a new bug, but it looks like this issue, it is
about hidden paragraphs and conditional text.
All was working fine with LibreOffice 4.3.7.2  on Windows 7 but all is broken
with Version: 5.0.1.2 (x64)

I see arabic in my list as i have CTL enabled in Tools > Options > Language
Settings > Languages.  Chinese and japanese didnt get listed for me when i
enabled asian language support.

I confirm the problem in 5.0.1.2 on Ubuntu.
