On pc Debian x86-64 with master sources updated yesterday or with LO Debian
package, I don't reproduce the problem. So personally, I can't do anything.

However, I've got other questions:
1) What happen if you just open Impress without opening any file? Does it crash
too?
2) a) If you installed LO 64 bits, do you have Java 64 bits?
or b) If you installed LO 32 bits, do you have Java 32 bits?
3) In LO options menu, could you:
a) uncheck "Use hardware acceleration" in LO/View/Graphics Output part
b) uncheck the OpenGL elements in the same place
c) in LO/OpenCL, disable "Allow use of OpenCL"
and give a new try?
4) Do you also reproduce this with LO 5.0.5? (and it means the regression is on
5.1 branch)

Impress display defect in Presentation mode.

Environment: LO 5.1.0.3 (x64) on Microsoft Surface Pro 4 i7/8GB/256GB running
Windows 10 64-bit

This bug is related/similar to bug ID: 98182 and 97943.

In Presentation mode, screen content split vertically (see screen capture).

Enable OpenGL rendering option (Tools-Options-LibreOffice-View) would fix the
display defect. However, Impress would crash consistently in no more than 3
advances of the slides.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 98215] New: EDITING: copy/paste of words from one doc to another changes text paragraph style

2016-02-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=98215

Bug ID: 98215
Summary: EDITING: copy/paste of words from one doc to another
changes text paragraph style
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.1.0.3 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: l...@zeta.org.au

Created attachment 123021
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=123021=edit
Screen grab of original text on left, and the changes made on the right

I'm copying some text with an associated comment from one paragraph of style
"Text Body" in one document into a paragraph of style "Text Body" in another
document.

The words copied, and sometimes the following sentence as well, changes from
Text Body style to Default Text style.

I think it is an error to change the paragraph style of text that you copy,
when that text is less than a whole paragraph (in the latest example, it was a
single word and the full stop after it, at the end of the paragraph).

I also think it's an error to change the text from the paragraph style that it
was formatted with (Text Body) into another style (Default paragraph).

In both documents, Text Body is defined (I believe) the same, with the same
pacing above and below, and same font and font size.

It just happened again, and if you look closely you'll also see that it has
changed the font size of the text immediately following the text which I copied
over the top of (this is in the right hand side document). In other words, it
changed the style of some text that had not even been selected! If you look at
the font size part of the UI, you'll see that it has changed the font style
from Times New Roman 14 pt to Times New Roman 12 pt. The only 12pt text I'm
aware of is the 12pt Liberation Serif used in the source document - and of
course the text which the paste has now changed into TNR 12.

Selecting the whole paragraph shows that the paragraph style is "Default
Style". Changing this back to "Text Body" corrects the errors introduced by
the paste.

The promised screenshot showing the text which is wrong.

Note also that even for the single document which it said it had successfully
recovered from backup, was not saved into the stated directory either.

None of the documents were actively Saved anywhere. The previously-saved
versions of the documents were all in the places they were supposed to be, and
had not been Saved over the top of, based on their modification dates.

The Save in this dialogue appears to be a no-op.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 95591] Autosave appears not to be working

2016-02-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95591

Since my Linux system crashed while reporting this bug, I'm in position to note
that as expected, since the backup area was empty, none of the documents were
recovered from there.

But I would like to point out (again) that LO does not do what it says it will,
after the autorecovery is complete. I'll attach a screenshot.

It says if I click Save, the files listed will be saved in a directory (in this
case, my Home directory).

I clicked Save: the documents were *not* saved there. As far as I could see,
they were not saved anywhere new.

When I clicked Save from one of the (now reopened) document, that too did not
save in the directory stated in the autorecovery panel (good), but was saved in
the directory where the document "lives" (good).

Could someone please correct the autorecovery-completion dialogue to state what
it will really do when you click Save? See attached screenshot

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 60418] FILEOPEN and EDITING particular .odt with excessive lots of Comments causes heavy CPU and memory load, can crash on saving

2016-02-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60418

I'm now using LO 5.1.0.3. The issue is not improved. Today I also noticed a
new problem: in the document with many comments, as I address each, I delete
the comment (so that performance will gradually improve).

For comments that require further discussion, I copy the text, with comment
included, into the new version of the document and then reply to the comment.

Currently, it takes 10-20 seconds for the many-comment document to respond when
I click on the comment. I have found that if I click, wait, then hover or
click on the drop-down comment-actions button, at some stage the "Activate this
button..." balloon help will pop up, and then if I click, on the arrow, the
menu will appear within a second or so.

BUT, for comments for which the associated text is still selected, when I click
on the "Delete" action in the comment menu, often now, instead of deleting the
comment, the selected text that the comment refers to is deleted! This happens
about 50% of the time.

The first three times it happened, I convinced myself I must have hit the
Delete key instead of selecting the Delete Comment menu item: but that is not
the case. The Delete Comment *sometimes* deletes the associated text, if it is
selected.

You can Undo, and the select Delete Comment again, and the comment will be
reliably deleted on this second attempt. However, another oddity I noticed is
that when the comment has been successfully deleted, if I Undo that operation,
while the comment reappears, it points to just the very end of the span of text
that it was previously associated with.

Hm, OK, the Jenkins build after I pushed, failed for MacOSX:
http://ci.libreoffice.org/job/lo_gerrit_master/12420/Gerrit=Gerrit,Platform=MacOSX/console

I don't have an OSX environment to test. However, a) it died in an area of the
code I did not touch, and b) several recent Jenkins builds of master for MacOSX
failed in what looks like the same way/place, such as:

http://ci.libreoffice.org/job/lo_gerrit_master/12417/Gerrit=Gerrit,Platform=MacOSX/console

http://ci.libreoffice.org/job/lo_gerrit_master/12416/Gerrit=Gerrit,Platform=MacOSX/console

So, I think that means that master is/was already broken. I'm 100% new to the
LibreOffice development ecosystem, so I don't know how common an occurrence
this is, or if I should do anything other than wait. What would you recommend?

Thanks!

2016-02-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Another Con: Gentium Plus do not offer Bold, just normal and italic! If you try
to apply bold (or worst: bold-italic) to a text set on Gentium Plus, Writer
will *simulate* the font style, giving not-so-good results.

As you can see on the attachment (build on LibO 5.1) Bug 30732 resolves the TOC
functionality, but not the problem with fields: neither the cross reference to
the heading nor the "chapter field" inserted on the document footer are able to
keep formatting.

Keeping sub/superscripts and italics is fundamental in technical documents,
school assignments, etc.: without proper formatting, some expressions may lose
their meaning.

In the latest drivers for this card on Windows AMD have disabled OpenCL

Using a tool called GPU Caps Viewer I can see that there is now no OpenCL

Consequently LO Calc now works ok, both with the two 'OpenCL' tick-boxes ticked

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 64900] Write a PyUNO tutorial/walktrough

2016-02-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=64900

Is there someone who can work on this bug/missing_feature ?
If not, maybe, I can do some contributions to this.

I'm not sure where to start because I've recently found out about LibreOffice.

Some of my background, I've been working in VBA for some time now and now I've
recently discovered Apache OpenOffice. At the beggining I didn't understood why
this OpenOffice uses this obsolete, hard to write, VBA stuff, because other
languages have major advantages over this. I've been just scratch the surface
with python in OpenOffice. After that some of my work coleagues use LibreOffice
and showed me that LibreOffice vs Apache OpenOffice seems more up-to-date with
what end-users need. Also Apache OpenOffice is <3 where LibreOffice is >3.

The fact that there not easy-to-use documentation of how to use python with
LibreOffice make people not so easy to get involved this stuff.

Maybe I can help, with some documentation, maybe some examples.

( I've only recently findout how to embed python scripts inside the actual .odt
document, but you have the edit the manifest.xml, and thats not very user
friendly, also in order to edit a python script inside the .odf file, you need
to have some tricks in place, because LibreOffice does not support editing
files except basic ? )

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 98160] Images are not shown in a WRITER document

2016-02-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=98160

Thanks for all your replys!

I tested it once more and recognized one maybe important thing. If I make a
double click on the not shown image then the dialogue box "Image" with the tab
MACRO is opened and under Assignments the entry Event = "Could not load image"
is selected. Together a second dialogue box "JRE is Defective: LibreOffice
requires a Java runtime environment (JRE) to perform this task. The selected
JRE is defective. Please select another version or install a new JRE and select
it under Tools - Options - LibreOffice - Advanced." is opened.

Under TOOLS is in my case a correct Java Oracle entry shown. If I check my
Java version then it shows that it is up-to-date and I see no problems with it.

Maybe, there was a bug with my last Java update? I will try to re-install Java
to check it.

@V Stuart Foote: I have the same result in both cases.

I can confirm that pasting in the default html format from both Firefox and
Chromium and pressing the justify button will cause this full justified
appearance.

It is caused by the pasted html having line breaks rather than paragraph breaks
and pressing enter at the end sentence line solves this issue, but the question
is should this issue arise with line breaks when the same doesnt happen in
english.

Tested in German UI, right clicking row header: Oberhalb and Optimale.. both
use O as the accelerator, so it cycles through them and you have to select by

Setting to NEW as this conflict should be resolved, I guess.

Why are we bumping pet enhancement requests to highest? Makes literally no

fdo#69244: Avoid putting these cells in formula tree prematurely.

Marking the cell dirty alone appears to be sufficient to trigger
resetting
of number format. SetDirty() would mark it dirty *and* put the cell
into
formula tree, which would prevent proper value propagation as seen in
the
bug report.

There is no content in the database-file. No table, no form ... So nobody could

What do you mean with "hidden section" in a form. A step-by-step description

Have tested with LO 5.1.1.1 on OpenSUE 42.1 64bit rpm Linux. Same problem:
Click on a checkbox doesn't change the state if the row isn't chosen before.
Works well in LO 4.4.7.2, so a regression.

The same errormessage as reported in Bug92720. Could it be there is a chart in

Yes the bitness for the required Java Runtime follows the bitness for the
build.

If you are installing the 64-bit build of LibreOffice, you need a 64-bit Java
JRE.

The Tools -> Options -> Advanced: "Use Java runtime environment" panel shows
JREs detected on the system and their full path to distinguish as the label in
the panel can be unclear.

Use Radio button select the JRE appropriate for your LibreOffice build and
restart.

This bug is marked to depend on Bug 59585 but it looks the same to me.
This one is earlier but that one has more simple explanation and I'd prefer it.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 33114] pasting picture with alpha channel

2016-02-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=33114

Ivana - perhaps you could file a new bug; that helps to motivate people =) also
- clearly Kendy fixed this issue for me, and lots of others long ago. It would
be good to have a new, clear-cut, clean description of the issue - with the
correct platform, application being pasted from, test file etc. so it doesn't
confuse this old issue.

Thanks !
