Recently, on April 21, 2016, I updated my system to use Ubuntu 16.04 LTS. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99483 --- Comment #6 from Yousuf (Jay) Philips--- (In reply to Heiko Tietze from comment #4) > You know where the pasted content comes from, perhaps to move it back > without undo. I would assume the content disappearing from that location is more than sufficient indication where the content moved from. We dont have any particular indication of where content moved from in writer. > I have to admit that my arguments are dragged in by head and > shoulders. But what is the advantage of clearing the marque? The first advantage would be that users wouldnt have to press Escape to disable it. Secondly the behaviour would mimic all other apps that have marque. > Users know what > it means, so the confusion reduces to inconsistency in the state. And I'm > not sure that this is true. Yes users can understand its meaning when they copy and cut, primarily when they cut as the contents arent actually being cut out of the sheet until you paste, unlike other apps where when you cut the contents do disappear. But once you've pasted, especially when you cut, it has very little meaning and users seeing the marque would assume that the action isn't completed. (In reply to Cor Nouws from comment #5) > Talking about 'head and shoulders': this behaviour is here since 2011 or so. > And can hardly be missed. So if it is nasty, people would have complained. > Or did I miss that? Well as a new user to Calc in 2014/2015 when i worked on the user stats, it was a major annoyance to me that i never reported and stuck with pressing Esc each time. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 96648] Excel to Libre Calc Currency Formatting Changes
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=96648 --- Comment #5 from roland.wal...@ymail.com --- Updated to Libre Office 5.1.2.2. It did not make any difference. The steps that I go through. Computer 1, Windows 7, MS Office 2003 or Computer 2, MacBook Air, Os X, MS Office or Computer 3, Excel On-line Create an Excel spreadsheet Highlight column and click the toolbar format button for currency. Enter Data. Close the spreadsheet. Open the spreadsheet on my computer, Windows 10, Libre Office 5.1.2.2 (the same issue occurred running Windows 7). The problem is as described in the previous examples. I see the Print Screen from 5.1.2 submitted by raal. My screen look did not change after upgrading to 5.1.2.2 this morning. However if I highlight column D and change the formatting by clicking on the default "$" in the tool bar and get the formatting correct in Libre Office. I can move that same spreadsheet back to Excel, re-save it by giving it a new name (Sample Excel Spreadsheet-2.xls) close it and reopen on my computer the formatting stays correct. I have looked at the default settings on my computer, they are: [$$-409]#,##0.00;[RED]-[$$-409]#,##0.00. So it is the initial opening of a spreadsheet in Libre Office that was created in Excel (only on my computer ??) This problem is not such a big issue as long as there are a few columns that can be changes all at once, but it is a bigger issue when the format has to be changed in a number of non-adjacent cells. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

B) Additionally, the file search function in Mac PC OS for locating Libre Office Documents.docx are case sensitive. C) At times, the file search function is unable to find Libre Office Documents even though the search words matches exactly in the Libre Office File Documents D) The file search function also unable to detect the word or words contenting in Libre Office Documents when a word or words are: highlighted, in another text colour, text font, font size or in other formats C) Furthermore, these technical issues as stated above also occur when using the file search function in the desktop document folders on Mac PC OS. Your help is greatly appreciated. Best regards, C.
