I would disagree with such behaviour been dependent on the OS, as a LO user
would have different behaviour when working on LO going between different OSes.
All other unix native apps dont share this behvaiour as gnome text editors are
different than kde text editors and the decision in bug 89154 was to use the
same behaviour found in all windows, linux and online word processors.

Sorry. Pasted opengl.device.log from the wrong machine. This machine works fine
with both Hardware Acceleration and OpenGL ENABLED. I will paste the copy from

I am trying to get an argument working within the data validity source input
line.  I am selecting an entire column then control+left clicking the title
cells.

 I then got to data-->Validity

On the pop-up window i enter my formula, which happens to be irrelevant to this
issue.

  The problem is when i go back to make a change, select the range again, and
when I go to the validity pop-up, its blank, but the cells are working...

I've just found recent driver updates for Intel and nVidia. OpenGL works now in
LO. There's only one slight but: when trying to put in fullscreen mode, LO
crashes the very first time after each computer booting, afterwards no problem.

I have a similar problem. I am using noew for years LibO for years but since
more than a month I connot open my excel or the coressponding LibO Spread
sheets. I am at a loss as this are important calculations for me.
The LibO program starts and it seems it tries to open the file but nothing
happens. This is also the case with some Writer documents.
I had hopes that it is a bug that is solved with the next update but I have
Version: 5.1.4.2 now and the problem persists. What can I do?

Thanks Buovjaga.  I downloaded the latest version of LibreOffice. 
Unfortunately, the problem of white-page persists.  Kaspersky (the provider of
Safe Money has not been able to resolve it either, even with their latest
version.  So they have escalated it to higher authority!

The current implementation always uses closed polygons, so that the line, which
you see as marker is actually not a line but a fill. If you want to get markers
with a hole, you have to make a closed subpath for the outer contour and a
closed subpath for the inner contour. Because of the evenodd fill-rule, the
inner part will become unfilled.

Because of the evenodd fill-rule you need to take care about overlapping
subpaths in your other markers too. Draw them with large width and look,
whether you get white areas, where it should be filled.

Please try your markers too in Calligra Stage (LINUX). It didn't draw the
markers at the correct position in my test. The reason might be, that the
actual point coordinates are about factor 100 different from the viewBox
values. But to be honest, I do not know the reason of the bad drawing in the
test in Calligra yet.

As the current implementation only uses filled polygons, you should make this
explicit in your paths and close them.

Yes, Chart is the only Insert item dealing with existing data (when thinking
about that, it would work in Data for me as well;) - but it inserts a new
complex object controlled by completely different menus and toolbars. Pivot
table is represented only by cells and filters - hence I would see it as
something really close to filters.

Maybe the duplicity is suboptimal, but surely better than the current state.

(Similarly to Cor's experience, my suggestion was inspired by a frustrated user
who started to use AOO because he thought that LO contained a bug preventing
creating pivot tables.)

I can confirm this. Changing “Tools → Options → Language Settings → Complex
Text → Layout → Cursor Control” from Logical to Visual has no effect either.

Great! Perhaps you want to have a look at bug 92152 (alignment is not perfect
when zoomed in).

The only thing I would change is the naming to allow "One" as another type of
ending. Something like Martin-One, Martin-Many, Martin-OneOnly, Martin-ZeroOne,
Martin-OneMany, Martin-ZeroMany. Even better we introduce groups so the
plethora of line endings would be organized better.

To prevent any confusion: Unlike the bug 91307, etc., this is not about the
behavior of the "filter popup" (which behaves without problems for me). Rather,
the issue appears/disappears after the popup gets closed using the OK button.
(I missed adding the "... and click OK to confirm" part at the end of the test
steps 2 and 3.)

Cursor keys move cursor to the opposite direction in RTL text.
To reproduce:
1. Open a writer document (I use the gtk3 rendering - it may be related).
2. Type in some text in an RTL language, such as Hebrew or Arabic. Make sure
that the paragraph language is properly identified.
3. Try to move the cursor with the keys. The cursor moves in the opposite
direction.

This is a regression from the 5.1 series.
This renders writer unusable for RTL texts.

How many versions of LibreOffice have you used? Did the problem only appear
with 5.1.4? You could try version 5.2. Also:

Between 6 & 7 going to "Format all comments", I verify that it shows the
changed font in the dialog, BUT after I click ok it does change the comment
text.

LO 5.2.0.4 german, Calc: The context menu for cells without inserted comment
contains the menu item "Befehl einfügen" instead "Kommentar einfügen". The
function of the menu item is OK, a comment is inserted. This means it is only a
translation error, but it is confusing the user.

The format of a line in the index is independent from the format of the
heading. That is intended. For example, making an index as requested by DIN,
the text lines in the index need to be left aligned to a common position. That
is only possible using a tab. But you surely do not want such tab in the
heading itself.

Therefore you can design the form of a line in the index directly in the dialog
tab 'Entries' in the index edit dialog. There you can add a space or a tab as
you need it. If you need help doing this, use a channel listed on
https://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/community-support/

shortened copy of my document to reproduce the described bug

I have one odt document with existing bookmarks that makes problems when I try
to insert new bookmarks: The bookmark dialog opens and the edit field for the
bookmark name contains "Bookmark 1". When I try to insert any text, the edit
fields is cleared and it remains empty even what key I press.
Also I cannot select an existing bookmark from the list to delete or rename the
bookmark.
This is not a general problem. In other documents this error does not appear.
I have no idea about the special difference beetween the documents.

With the attached shortened copy of my original document I have reproduced the
errors on 3 different commputers (all Windows 10 1607, 2x x64 with LO 5.2.0
64bit, 1x x86).

Hi!

Dell Precision, T7400.
Ubuntu 14.04, 64 bit.
LibreOffice 5.1.4.2.
I use the Calc to control my personal finances.
There are 7-8 pages in the document.
Two occurrences: When I open the document, the content of entire pages is
erased.
I am sure I saved the document before closing.
When I open the document, one or another page is blank.
(Pressing Ctrl+Home does not help: already at the top-left of the page.)
I am sure I did not Ctrl-A+delete while on the page.
I am using computers since 1992, MS Office, Word Perfec Office, OpenOffice,
LiberOffice, and never seen such things.
Are there other users complaining of the same thing?

Confirmed with v5.1.5.2 under windows 7 x64.
Saving it to pptx, LO says the file can't be written, then crashes. Saving to
odp just crashes without error.

I agree with you that pivot table is about data analysis, but the insert menu
is not limited to just objects like an image, as you can insert a comment,
hyperlink, function, etc. Similar to a chart, pivot table utilizes existing
data on a sheet to render that data in a different way.

There can be exceptions to the rule of having unique locations in the menu for
each function and it seems this likely will be one of them. So i'll add an
additional entry in the data menu for it.

The word create or add could be substituted for insert with many of the entries
in the insert menu. Are we inserting or creating a chart, textbox, or shape?
