[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 101838] Editing: Calculation error for MINVERSE function

2016-09-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=101838

I'm seeing this on 32-bit Ubuntu 16.04 but not 64-bit. Could this be a 32/64
bit issue? The last working build I have is
d999069ec6ace6e43b054f26a48f99cbec621628 from 7/14. I'll see if I can narrow
the window down a bit.

Believe that is because of bug in 5.2 (bug 101921). Alternatively if you want
to make changes to keyboard behaviour in the deck from what it was in 5.1 and
prior, though i found it quite fine, please submit an enhancement for it and CC
this bug.

Well my intent was to have it work just like it did before, but i'm fine with
having it focus on a different deck control, ideally one that best suits a11y
users. My thoughts on what to focus is the style list, so it will be easy for
users to f11 and change the style and then f11 back to the doc and then f11
back to the list and choose a different one.

> Paragraph to current paragraph
> Character to a selection or current word
> Frame to current frame contained object
> Page to the current page
> List to a current list
> Table to selection or current cell/row/column of table
> etc.

I dont think the style list type should be changed without the user requesting
that change, unless that particular style type is not applicable to the current
object, which is how we do it now. There are multiple situations where multiple
style types are applicable at the same time (for example in a list you would
possibly want access to paragraph, character and list style), so the user
should change the list type.

> Like F10, a second F11 would return focus to document canvas.

Yep thats what i meant when i said "the sidebar should set focus to the drop
down control at the bottom when the sidebar deck is open and should set focus
back to the document when the sidebar deck is closed."

It would be useful to have a dialog option to set or unset the list style of
list entries, as presently this feature is limited to the sidebar.

   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.3.0.0.alpha0+ Master

 Component: UI

Bug 32581 being now solved, a natural follow-up enhancement is to allow to
force embedding a movie or sound that is linked to a document. To be able to do
that we need to retrieve this link in the list accessible in the dialog Edition
> Links as we can do in the case of linked images.

Perhaps it could be prudent to add a warning message before breaking a link to
a video or sound because these files may be very big and it could not be a good
idea to include such a file in a document.

Best regards. JBF

2016-09-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45649

The hourglass icon was inherited from OpenOffice.

I hope they remove it so that I won't have to keep replacing it myself.

How to fix it depends on what version of Openoffice/Libreoffice you are using.
Look for a zip file in either your profile directory or where Libreoffice is
installed named images.zip or image-something.zip. Look inside the zip for a
png file inside named "waiticon.png" replace it with a same-sized 100%
transparent png.

e.g.
For Libreoffice 5.2.0 on Ubuntu look in:
/opt/libreoffice5.2/share/config/images_galaxy.zip
replace file /sd/res/waiticon.png

e.g.
For LibreOffice 4.2.x on Windows 10 the zip file is in C:\Program Files
(x86)\LibreOffice 4\share\config

Yes, but Keyboard navigation between the Style & Formatting modes needs to be
normalized--enabling Tab and arrow cursor movement, and Enter to select/apply
the style/formatting. Presently the F11 Styles & Formatting content panel only
supports mouse actions with limited cursor movements once in the list of
styles.

Then, rather than to the deck's dropdown menu--as with F10 toggle movement
between File on the main menu and the document canvas--the F11 ought to move to
a default landing on the Paragraph Styles mode. But enable Tab to move between
Style modes applicable to the module. An Enter to enter the list (only possible
now with mouse click), cursor movement, and Enter to apply the style to
document canvas as appropriate.

Paragraph to current paragraph
Character to a selection or current word
Frame to current frame contained object
Page to the current page
List to a current list
Table to selection or current cell/row/column of table
etc.

Like F10, a second F11 would return focus to document canvas.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 101919] New: Renaming the point "ownCloud" in main menu of LibreOffice on Android

2016-09-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 101919

LibreOffice on Android
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.2.0.0.alpha0+
  Hardware: All

Created attachment 127162
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=127162=edit
Screenshot with menu point "ownCloud"

Hello!
I think that menu point "ownCloud" (1.png) in Libreoffice on Android has to be
renamed to something more neutral, like "Remote server".
First, main developer of ownCloud has gone and created Nextcloud, and future of
ownCloud doesn't seem so bright because of it
(https://owncloud.org/blog/owncloud-statement-concerning-the-formation-of-nextcloud-by-frank-karlitschek/).
And, this naming looks like preference one service to another ones, and it
looks strange.
Second, LibreOffice on desktop platforms has 2 menu points, "File" - "Open
remote file..." and "File" - "Save to remote server..." Renaming of the point
to "Remote server" will unify these terms.

This is the .odt file which is causing the problem

You have been most helpful. Setting a new user profile did not clear the
problem. The rendering was set to default.

I'm not sure how to upload the file to you. I've used the browse button above.
I also set it as an attachment to the email, but that was returned as failed.

As commented only one page style by sheet, so orientation change needs change
the sheet.

To have a continuous pagination with PDF export, it's simple and possible
selecting the sheets to print with Ctrl-click on the tab of sheets to print,
and marking selection on the main tab in export PDF.

At least it works fine for me.

What it's really annoying it's that selection it's not default in PDF, making
easy to export everything in the spreadsheet without want.

But I think not a bug.

Using Arch Linux, Gnome 3.2.20. Pressing either Alt key shows the top-level
menu accelerator (e.g. _F_ile, _E_dit, etc.), but pressing the accelerator key
("F" for the File menu, for example) does nothing.

However, pressing a keyboard shortcut for a second-level menu accelerator (CTRL
+ "O", for File | Open, for example), *does* work.

Converting OpenOffice Calc spreadsheet to LO, SUMPRODUCT function in LO has
what I consider to be a bug. If one of the multiplication terms is a simple
range, SUMPRODUCT throws a #VALUE error if a cell with text is encountered
within the range, instead of the cell's value defaulting to zero. Have to
resort to using ISNUMBER() function as a workaround (which is a pain), e.g. --

= SUMPRODUCT((expr1)*(expr2)*(C$1:C30))
fails if a cell within C1:C30 has text

= SUMPRODUCT((expr1)*(expr2)* (IF(ISNUMBER(C$1:C30), C$1:C30, 0)))
works okay

-m.

Trivial to do without IME or use of special character dialog--simply type
"u+202f" and position cursor at end of string. Then +x to toggle the
codepoint for the current font. Another +x will toggle back the to string.

AltGr (right key) in some locales does not perform the toggle--use the
left alt.

One option, atleast for images as its impossible for a11y users to insert
shapes, would be to always show the Name dialog (.uno:NameGroup) after
inserting the image. This could be done in 2 ways:

1) Have a checkbox in the insert image dialog which can be checked to auto open
the dialog (in writer the uno command would likely have to be modified as it is
currently disabled when selecting an image)

2) Have a checkbox in the Tools > Options dialog for accessibility mode, where
it would automatically do a variety of different things that are beneficial to
a11y users. (maybe this could automatically be enabled when LO detects that a
screen reader is active)

With a current build of LO master/5.3.0alpha0+ (Build ID:

linked in comment 0 -- the Special Character dialog displays and selects glyphs
and allows paste of SMP codepoints into the Writer canvas. The +X unicode
toggle also seems to work correctly for the SMP codepoints.

Could you check if your preferred AltGr based text IME remains balky in Writer
for entering SMP codepoints for the font.

both bugs is practically the same. So maybe the two bugs could/should be

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 101915] New: F11 shortcut should focus on styles and formatting sidebar' s drop down control

2016-09-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=101915

Bug ID: 101915
Summary: F11 shortcut should focus on styles and formatting
sidebar's drop down control
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.3.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Keywords: accessibility, regression
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: philip...@hotmail.com
CC: s.mehrbr...@gmail.com
Blocks: 101912

After we made the styles and formatting exclusive to the sidebar in bug 73151,
it has been unaccessible to a11y users as focus remains in the document rather
than in the sidebar deck, like it used to be in the style dialog. So similar to
the style dialog, the sidebar should set focus to the drop down control at the
bottom when the sidebar deck is open and should set focus back to the document
when the sidebar deck is closed. See LO 4.2.6 to test the old behaviour.

Yes, it is the same problem. The solution in file format is the same. The
position where something in the code has to be changed, is likely different.

If I understand correctly, allowing this in LibreOffice would be a suitable
approach to resolve the full-page background issue, and at the same time also
resolve bug 41542. Am I right?

(However, I'd suggest to have the LibreOffice UI not deal with the CSS terms of
"margin" vs. "padding" as these can easily become confusing.)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 94692] FORMATTING: frame/object (in this case picture with caption) does not properly flow to the next page but is displayed in the margins

2016-09-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=94692

Check option "Follow text flow" in tab "Type" of the frame properties. That
keeps the frame inside the text area. So it is not a bug here.

The frame will flow to the next page, but on the other hand text will flow into
the empty area of the previous page.

There exists no general solution to get the flow of frames and pictures as you
want. Sometimes a layout table (table without borders) works best, sometimes
this "Follow text flow" setting, and sometimes anchor as character. Often not
the position of the frame itself is the problem, but the flowing of the
surrounding text. And in most cases there is no bug at all, but the users need
only some support.

That would be nice! The narrow no-break space would make a lot more sense, so
I'd prefer U+202F.

I have a keyboard layout which can produce this glyph, but when I press the
corresponding key, a regular non-breaking space is inserted, but not a thin
one. Inserting as unicode through "Insert->Special character" works somehow…

Documents created in MS Word with page backgorund and saved in both ODT and
DOCX don't have any white borders. If you open these docs in LO then the
borders become white.
And vice versa, if you create doc with page bg in LO and then open it in MSO -
there will be no white borders.

So it's most likely LibreOffice's problem

The UI is there. "margin" in the sense of specification is the setting "Margin"
in tab "Page" of the page style dialog. "border" in the sense of specification
is the setting "Line width" o.a. in the tab "Borders" of the page style dialog.
"padding" in the sense of specification is the setting "Spacing to Contents" in
the tab "Borders".

The only problem is, that LO disables "Spacing to Contents" in case "Line
Arrangement" is set to "none" in the tab "Borders", whereas the specification
allows such setting.

Yes, there are these three glyphs, but there is no „small space“. This is
primarily used in scientific context for the space between a number and it's
unit neither to be too big nor not existing and is achieved in TeX systems by
<\,>. It even is instructed in books about scientific writing and thus missing
in LO.

But setting a border in a page style, doesn't offer me a UI to set the padding,
does it?

> As workaround, you currently set margins to 0cm (and ignore printer

So then this workaround has no option to set a padding, so there is no
difference between the border edge (background to the side of the paper) and
the content edge (e.g. text) ?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 101908] Rendering of grey boxes (e.g. protected space) inside italic text hides text

The problem is, that text gets hidden (which is a bug and no correct
behaviour).

Sometimes the (somehow inconsistent) rendering differs is a little bit and then
even more of the adjacent glyphs gets hidden. Solutions would be
a) the grey box to be set in the background so that the adjacent glyphs are in
the foreground and don't get covered, and
b) the grey box should exist as an italic one, too, so that it fits the font
style and doesn't look that ugly.

This would definitely be an improvement to user experience.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 33041] Allow page background to cover the whole page, not only within page borders/margins

2016-09-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=33041

The settings are in element in ODF. It allows
the attributes fo:margin and fo:padding. The namespace fo belongs to XSL,e.g
https://www.w3.org/TR/2001/REC-xsl-20011015/slice7.html#padding-top. The
specification of XSL refers to CSS and there you find the box model
https://www.w3.org/TR/REC-CSS2/box.html#box-padding-area.

The "margin"-area is always transparent. The "padding"-area has the same
background as the content-area. The border is between "margin"- and
"padding"-area. So margins can never have a background.

The solution for LibreOffice can be, to allow to set a padding without having a
border. border-width="0pt" is handled the same as border="none" in XSL, so
allowing "no" border is no problem in regard to specification. "padding" is the
setting "Spacing to contents" in the tab Borders in the page style dialog.
Currently padding is disabled, if no border is set. But having border width =
"0pt" is allowed in CSS and in turn in ODF.

In case LO would allow padding without border, the user could set margin to 0pt
and determine the needed distance between text and page edge be setting a
suitable padding. Because the padding has the same background as the content,
then the image would be drawn up to the page edge.

As workaround, you currently set margins to 0cm (and ignore printer warning),
and set the border to the smallest possible value and to a color, which makes
it rather invisible (background color of page, or similar to an image color,
for example). You get a document with a minimal border at the page edge and an
image covering the whole page. Most printers have a non-printable area and will
not print near the paper edge, regardless what the document page has there.
Only in PDF you will see this small border.

The same problem exists not only for page layout, but in all other cases, where
you can set border and padding.

Yes it seems that if CJK and CTL are both enabled, "Enable char unit" is
enabled and if only CJK is enabled, "Enable char unit" isnt enabled. So this
seems to be the route of the bug.
