[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 102779] Notebookbar: Add spacing/padding around tab labels

2016-11-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=102779

I guess this can be done via inserting a space around the text, for example,
U+2000.

The documents are held in your user profile. They are known as the Recent
Documents list, but in the profile are listed as Histories and the history
"pick list". By default there will be up to 25, and each history item will have
a thumbnail created for it (or otherwise use a default ODF icon for the file
type).

Two ways it can go missing--your user profile is corrupted and is rebuilt. Or
the command to clear the history is run, a single button click on main menu
File -> Recent Documents -> Clear list.

Since new documents are appearing for you it all is functioning normal, to see
what should be listed with thumbnails open the File -> Recent Documents menu.

As 5.3.3 has not be built or release, you must mean 5.2.3.3

You might verify the HASH signature of the package you've downloaded and
attempted to install. If it doesn't match its not valid. And be careful that if
you have the 64-bit version installed you are not trying to upgrade it with the
32-bit version--we see that too often.

Also, issue like this often occur when user has left an instance of a program
running, and after an upgrade attempt leaves the MSIexec package manager in an
unhappy state.

Either case there will usually be some error message in the event log about the
installation attempt.

https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/aa372835(v=vs.85).aspx

But, if you simply run a Windows command prompt "as administrator" and clear
this by unregistering the service.

msiexec.exe /unregister

msiexec.exe /register

Personally when I install software I always "run as administrator" or run the
installation from the CLI "run as administrator" so the system files and
registry that must be written to can be.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 103818] New: Saved document Icons at start up have disappeared.

2016-11-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103818

Bug ID: 103818
Summary: Saved document Icons at start up have disappeared.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.2.2.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: amac4...@gmail.com

Description:
When you start Libre there are Icons in the grey area of documents you had open
for easy access. When I opened Libre, they all were not there, only the symbol
with the number 5 in it.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.I opened more docs and they did appear on the right side when I reopened
Libre. So it apparently does not happen all the time. Having all those icons
disappear makes for longer times to reopen and get to work.
2.
3.

Actual Results:
Reproducing would be to just keep opening documents and as they stack up in the
grey board you won't know untill you keep opening Libre to see if they
disappeared.

Expected Results:
They didn't dosappear but my concern is once I get working and saving those
icaons, they may disappear in the furture when I open Libre and it will slow
down my work by looking them up again.

Reproducible: Couldn't Reproduce

Indeed, the bug is still there. Looks much better with a 5.3 daily build,
though (using the unified layout), the "y" is only cut in the first line, but
not anymore in line 2 and 3.

Apparently the file contains 32572 styles, and this function is quadratic
because of the two nested for-loops:

Xisco,

I bisected this bug to an 11/4 commit:
https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=6b571ae4608ac15256eb7582f442ce69975370f3

If you're seeing this on 11/3, it's a different issue. Please be sure to
confirm that Tomaž's patch also fixes your issue. BTW, I tested this on Windows
10 with Nvidia gtx 650 and Intel HD 5000.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 103817] New: 5.3.3 install failed and erased previous version. Now inoperable.

2016-11-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103817

Bug ID: 103817
Summary: 5.3.3 install failed and erased previous version. Now
inoperable.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.2.3.3 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Installation
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: spam60...@yahoo.com

Description:
Using older 5.2 and previous for years. Prompt led me t try 5.3 install.
Failed for lack of "admin" access, which was never required before. Now I find
ALL LibreOffice is deleted! Can't install 5.3- still requires admin access.
So I guess I'll just have to buy a corp office product?

-Mike-

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Download 5.3.3
2.Commence install
3.Fail notice- needs 'admin" access.

Actual Results:
install fail- with all previous LibreOffice deleted. All previously created
work files (WP, spreadsheets) unreadable. Attempts to re-install all fail.

Expected Results:
Expected newest LibreOffice.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Summary|Exaggerated spacing in |Formula Editor exaggerated

No, the current default spacing is reasonable for general input of formulas.

In line on a common base with a string of text is a special case that is simply
handled per formula object with the Wrap value as in comment 0 (or/and possibly
setting the formula's internal spacing with edit Format -> Spacing ->
Category:Borders)

Setting different defaults is done by modifying the Frame style -> Formula
where tighter left/right wrap can be set.

And within the Math editor the Format -> Spacing -> Category:Borders can be set
to take a new default to produce more appealing in line spacing. The two
becomes a per-user default for new formulas.

Imagine it would be possible to develop a new Frame style -> FormulaInline
style to simplify what is currently a per-user customization.

I'd suggest reinstalling the same 4.x version you were using, and uninstalling

safer.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 103816] New: Exaggerated spacing in inline equations

2016-11-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103816

Bug ID: 103816
Summary: Exaggerated spacing in inline equations
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: nuno...@gmail.com

Created attachment 128626
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=128626=edit
Exaggerated spacing in inline equations

LO Writer has a problem when wtiting inline equations: There is a big spacing
before and after the equaion that makes it impossible to use inline equations
separated by commas.

The solution is to set the default value of the left and right
Object->Wrap->Spacing to zero. This will make possible using inline equations
separated by commas or even in a sentence finishing with a fullstop (see
attachment).

even better not only imposition of pdf files but also stright to the printer.
I'm not a programmer but there are many libraries like
http://podofo.sourceforge.net/about.html or http://itextpdf.com/ that can maybe
be implemented without too much effort?

Indeed, I couldn't reproduce it in Linux, either with daily build from
2016-11-06_23:07:09. Setting OS to Windows.

Note that by default Linux doesn't have Constantia font that's used in the
presentation (I installed it as described in [1]), but it doesn't matter, the
slides look okay with and without font substitution.

this seems to be resolved one way or another.

Bug ID: 103813
Summary: Lines and Box borders disheartening in header when in
ott form
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.2.3.2 rc
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: vchrysafi...@gmail.com

Description:
I create a template document in Writer, In the header, I put my name and
occupation. I underline the text either by pressing the (_) button on the
keyboard or bu placing the bottom line of the border box. I can see my input
and the I save as a template document. It is saved in My templates folder.
Now the problem: I open the import from template part of writer, I go to My
Templates and import the file I created. Thw file is imported, I can see it in
the relevant window. When I open it, to enter text, there is NO line in the
Header, in none of the two mentioned cases. The line with the keyboard button
a=or the box bottom line border DOES NOT appear in the file! I need to re-do
the line in the imported from template part file!

Actual Results:

If you indeed used 4.2.8.2 as specified in the version field, please try with a
recent release (5.2.3 preferably).

Also, if it's still occurring in a current version, please attach a sample
document.

   Product: LibreOffice

  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: irene-myl...@posteo.de

Description:
Libre office writer crashes when I try to export my master's thesis (156 pages
+ graphics) as a pdf.
Restoring user profile does not help.
It is possible to export the same content when copying all into a new document,
but then something with the layout is wrong - suddenly, the document has only
155 pages

Steps to Reproduce:
1. open the respective document
2. click on either file - export as pdf, or on pdf-export-button
3. click on save
4.

Actual Results:
writer crashes
when I open it again, it is possible to restore the documents which where open,
and I can restart with 2.

Expected Results:
a nicely exported pdf on my desktop (or somewhere else, the location does not
change the problem)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 103810] New: Impress hangs on opening a presentation with an ogg inserted

2016-11-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103810

Bug ID: 103810
Summary: Impress hangs on opening a presentation with an ogg
inserted
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.1.1.3 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: herman.via...@edpnet.be

Presentation made in LibreOffice 4.4.7.2 on Mageia5, contains one slide with an
ogg inserted. Runs perfectly there.
Opening same file in LibreOffice 5.1.1.3 on PCLinuxOS (ogg fiel has been copied
as well), results in LibreOffice hanging with a complete white window.
Adding presentation and ogg file.

2016-11-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=94621

The problem still exists in 5.2.3.2 on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS,
where the first header in the example is shown in a dropdown box as 'First page
header', and subsequent right headers as 'Right page header' - but changing the
first still changes all the right page headers. Bad problem!
