Hi Cor Nouws,
appreciate for your immediate reply.  

The issue was while importing an XL document to Libreoffice and while entering
an equation to find a result based on the data in some other cells, it showed
only the equation rather than the result.  

I tried to reformat the cell using Ctl+1 back to number format but was in vain.
Let me know what is the workaround for this.  

by the by, How to use that CT2N command

After trying to resolve my first bug 106004, it appeared, that this is still a
running bug reason like bug 104315!. So the problem is, that if any letter is
put ahead or after the "Ku" so the real Index will be killed anyway.
So please fix that last Patch with the sign/letter to the Version 5.2.4, where
it still work propper, or fix the new patch with no disablements

OK, So I still urgent repeat the request to kill the last patch, back to the
version of 5.2.4, where there not this problem with killing letters, but also,
that the TAB-Funktion to set the TAB to the right side by confirming, will be
killed, if you put any letter between the "T" and the "#" AND a letter behinde
the "#" will also kill the page number!
So this bug make the complete use of the open textfield between all functions
of the ToC-formating to non-sense.
So please debug this last patch!

Extension Manager crashed

Windows 10:

I downloaded the latest nightly of LanguageTool from:
https://languagetool.org/download/snapshots/?C=M;O=D

Then, I double-clicked on the file and while it was being installed by the
extension manager (it takes a minute or so) I decided to untick the checkbox
"Bundled with LibreOffice".

LO 5.3 crashed!

It just says that the application isn't responding and minutes have gone by.

recently tested the bug at my windows XP PC with Libreoffice 5.2.4 and the both
bugs, with the Table of content AND the other bug I reported with the source
table, disappeard. and now on my Antergos-Linux Laptop with LibreOffice 5.3.0.3
just enables the bug, after updating the tables manually.

OP responded via PM the fonts are TrueType.

Suspect then it is issue of bug 101828 -- RTF paste no longer available in 5.2+

For OP, please test with a nightly build of 5.3.1 or of master/5.4.0 and if
that restores your copy/paste of RTF resolve this issue as a duplicate of that.

Downloading the document from Excel Online produced errors upon opening in
Calc.

The cause of these opening errors is that Calc does not add '_xlfn.' as a
prefix when saving as OOXML, nor does Calc remove the '_xlfn.' prefix when
opening an OOXML document.

I think this problem applies to IMCOSH, IMCOT, IMCSC, IMCSCH, IMSEC, IMSECH,
IMSINH and IMTAN

Case: changing the border color/line type of a specific table row. 
The table border setting won't apply to the top border of the selected row 

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open attached file
2. Select the row containing 'Select this row'
3. Right Click -> Table Properties
4. Go to Border tab
5. Change some noticeable setting to all borders (change line Width and/or
color)
6. Press OK

Actual Results:  
The top border of the selected cell doesn't change

Expected Results:
The top border should also be change corresponding to the settings

Besides the doubted use case it's hard to believe that such a feature
outperforms what the OS/DE can do, across various platforms. Better we make

I ask Armin Le Grand how the tool "Eliminate Points" works. The answer is in
German, but it is still useful.

"Ich denke, der Knackpunkt ist, dass wohl nicht klar genug wird, dass es sich
bei dem Kommando in der Toolbar um das interaktive Punkte-löschen handelt.
Natürlich kann man ohne dieses Kommando/Button jederzeit Punkte des Polygons
selektieren (Tastatur, Maus,...) und mittels DEL löschen.
Der interaktive Modus, der mittels des Icons aktiviert wird, arbeitet etwas
anders: Bis zu dessen Deaktivierung (ins Leere klicken) kann man jetzt einen
Punkt des Polygons greifen und bewegen. Es wird eine interaktive preview
gezeigt. Wenn der Punkt in einem gewissen Grenzbereich nahe genug an die
gedachte Gerade zwischen seinem Vor- und Nachfolgepunkt gerät, 'schnappt' der
bewegte Punkt auf diese Linie. Wenn man jetzt die Maustaste loslässt, wird
dieser Punkt gelöscht.
Das ist ein alter, interaktiver Löschmodus, der aber durchaus intuitiv und gut
funktioniert. Ausserdem eine der unglaublich vielen Dinge, wenn man die
Interaktionen umstellt, zuletzt auf Overlay und Primitive.
Zu den Kurven: wirklich intuitiv arbeitet der Modus natürlich nur, wenn nicht
mit einer Kurve gearbeitet wird. Natürlich kann ein polygon gemischt sein, d.h.
bestimmte Kanten sind kurve, bestimmte nicht. Es ist also nicht sinnvoll,
diesen Modus für polygone, die Kurvenabschnitte enthalten, einfach zu
deaktivieren.

So, hoffe geholfen zu haben. Eventuell sollte man den Modus einfach umbenennen,
das 'interaktiv' sollte vielleicht mit rein. Ein weiteres Beispiel für eine
gute Funktion, die unklar und schlecht angeboten wird."

Unfortunately no.

1. The repro steps aren't any better, exactly as you described it. The ODT has
always kept the font information, as it is now (see my repro step 8 in comment
0 - "check that the settings persist"). And FODT still looses the data.

2. The attachment contains, among other files, the required font, without which
the display both in FODT *and* in ODT will be wrong. That is explained in
comment 5.

Please provide details of the fonts. At 5.3 the project has removed support for
unsupported Type 1 and most bitmap fonts.

In LO 5.3 rotating of SVG images still doesn't work. That is strange, since it
is possible to mirror SVG's vertically and horizontally (already in LO 5.2).
Would be a very nice enhancement.

Description:
The final result when crossing the table cell border while trying to select a
single line of text using the mouse is a table cell selection. The selection
can't be corrected in the same session. 

Steps to Reproduce:
Dragging from right to left
1. Open the attached file
2. Select 'GHI' by clicking and holding the left mouse while starting from I to
G (and cross the inner cell border (purple line)) ->  both cells get selected
3. While still in the selection process, 'retry' to select only 'GHI'

Version B: dragging from top to bottom
1. Select 'GHI' and 'CCC' by clicking and holding the left mouse and start
selecting at 'G' and dragging downwards (trespassing the red line).  
3. While still in the selection process, 'retry' to select only 'GHI'


Actual Results:  
When crossing the inner cell border both cells are selected. That's how it
should work. However, it's now impossible to undo the right cell selection and
only select 'GHI'

Expected Results:
It should still be possible to only select 'GHI'

When I try to zoom using two-finger scroll on my touchpad on any LibreOffice
application, the zooming is barely controllable and hardly ever lets me get to
the level of zoom I want. 

It feels like there is a zoom factor that is incorrectly calibrated so very
thin scrolling on the touchpad becomes very coarse zooming on the application.

I expect that this problem is isolated to only some touchpads.

Bug 101388 seems to address a similar issue, but for two-finger scrolling in
general. My computer is also a Lenovo, but an 80K9 laptop.

OK, we'll make this an enhancement of suitable priority.

If a dev wants to pick it up--IMHO it is worth doing, but not at the expense of
other more pressing facets of the GUI for HiDPI desktops and mobile devices.
Expect doing this correctly to reach all elements of the UI could be quite
challenging.

But this might provide framework for implementing other useful scaling and zoom
features, for example bug 105610.

this.
I could just reproduce this with kde4 and gen rendering not with gtk or gtk3.

I assume the "float" problem lies in the Firefox code, since HarfBuzz is used
in Firefox and Chrome also, which have no problems with glyph display. Will

After performing a clean reinstall from 5.2.2.2 x64 to 5.3.0.3 x64, the results
have changed:
1) The repro steps are better now: the ODT where the small A was written
preserved the font as italic Arial, but the FODT uses the default italic
Liberation Serif and Liberation Mono.
2) In the attachment: the ODT preserved all the font changes and looks just
like the pic. The FODT switched back to the defaults of Liberation Serif,
Liberation Mono and the italics, and is the exact same mess as in the pic. When
double-clicking the formula in the ODT, it presents the same kinda mess in the
formula box on the bottom of screen as you see immediately in the FODT. The box
does track each character successfully in that wherever you move the keyboard
cursor it highlights the corresponding symbol on the document in both FODT and
ODT.

Operating system global scaling is rarely a viable option because it has
unintended or bad results on too many applications. Applications like Microsoft
Word work well because they are created by the same developer and therefore
well integrated with the OS zoom features. Other applications, not so much.
And often users don't want to scale everything in the OS (like me).

First applications that came to mind because I use them both ...

Adobe InDesign - UI Scaling setting - allows user to set the interface at 100%,
150%, or 200%.
This enables their users to make the UI scale choice based on the size and DPI
of their own display.
Same with other Adobe products.

Vivaldi browser (based on Chrome) - User Interface Zoom setting - scale
anywhere between 50% to 200% in 5% increments.

Many applications provide 3 sizes of icons - Inkscape, AutoCAD, Solidworks,
etc.


With all the different devices now, the ability for users to set the scaling
for the interface would seem to be a requirement.

While the current menu scaling in v5.2 may not be optimal, it is better than
nothing.

rotate from 150° to 270°

LibreOffice has no UI for it. There should be a jump to 150°, but I cannot
notice that. The stop at 270° seems to work. Roundtrip test not possible
because of bug 106002.

ODT file to test selection problem

When in header or footer, text begins or ends outside text boundaries area, it
is impossible to select text with mouse if i begin the selection with text
outside. 

For exemple with the example attached : in header, if i begin selecting text
inside "Loren" with mouse, selection don't work. In page main text area, no
problem. 

If i moove cursor with keyboard and use shift+arrow to select, no problem.

Tip : use Display/text boundaries to help selection. No matter if text
boundaries are shown or not.

Bug also found in 5.3.0.0 alpha+

Doc example with two pfm fonts and png screenshot

After upgrading to 5.3.0.3, Type 1 font (like font_file_name.pfm) are not
listed in the font list (checked with Calc, Draw and Write). Text document
using this font (or svg pictures included in doc) are displayed with an
alternative font. 

No bug previously with 5.2.x (no tested) neither with 5.3.0.0alpha+ (tested)

If i embed the font in the doc, same result (embeding with alpha+) (despite the
file is very huge (8488 Ko as the fonts are only 4 Ko), perhaps an other bug to
file).

Description:
After updating from 5.2.4 to 5.3.0.3 the source directory appeared wrong in the
content of the source numbers, while updating. Originaly i got over 500
sources, but now it shows like 45 in breakets but the content behind the
breakets is correct and also the number an order in the wohle document. The
page number in the content is correct. This bug appears with the page bug in
the ToC "@", the table of grafics was not effected by the update.

Wanting to freeze rows or columns as headers and searching instructions for
doing it, local guide and helps are a set of incorrect and inconsistent
informations both in IT and EN (look at screenshots).
I know there are previous bugs already opened and 98767 has a target 5.3 but I
do not know if any discrepancies are corrected, so 

screen1- online help and real menu are different. In addition, by clicking on
"Blocca celle", also appear "Blocca ..." of which there is no trace in any
guide or help (look at screen7 what appears searching in the local guide).

screen2- local guide says to click on "Fissa righe e colonne" from menu
Visualizza (but in the menu we see "Blocca celle" (see screen1). In addition,
this page is useless then having to click on the link to access the
instructions.

screen3- clicking on the link from the previous page we get the instructions,
but again they say to click on "Fissa righe e colonne" from menu Visualizza
(but in the menu we see "Blocca celle" (see screen1).
In addition, the introduction "Se avete righe o colonne di dati piuttosto
lunghe ..." appears nonsensical: the command is used to fix the display of rows
or columns when scrolling the sheet.

screen4- also the online help refers to a unuseless page and with incorrect
instructions.

screen5- another page available online, similar to the local equivalent withe
the same nonsensical introduction. Also, here it says "Attivate il comando
Finestra-Fissa" (???).

screen6- same above comments about on EN help.

Description:
After updating vorm 5.2.4 to 5.3.0.3 the Table of contents appeared like the 
secound, third,... page numerbers changed while updating to "@", without any
changes to the table format. For the first chapter order the pages are right,
but the TAB Option for the prefix clashed with the chaptername...like:
