FILESAVE crash in Writer
I copied and pasted the contents of an e-mail from Yahoo mail into a new Writer
document. I did some editing and tried to save as MS Word ".docx" format.
Writer crashed during the Save As operation. I used the Recovery option to
re-open the document, and saved it again. It worked successfully the second
time.

Image Control with style:repeat="scale"

If the property "Scale" in tab "General" of the Image Control properties is set
to "Keep ratio", then LibreOffice writes this to file as graphic property
style:repeat="scale". But the only allowed values are "no-repeat", "repeat" and
"stretch".

Such value would indeed be useful, but it is currently not valid.

There exists no issue in https://issues.oasis-open.org and no item in

for it.

Perhaps it can be called RANGE.

Perhaps not all InfoType will be relevant:

  *  PROTECT

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 106932] New: Impossible to select all entire table rows when vertical Merges are present

2017-04-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=106932

Bug ID: 106932
Summary: Impossible to select all entire table rows when
vertical Merges are present
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.3.2.1 rc
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: jim.av...@gmail.com

Created attachment 132315
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=132315=edit
SelectBug.odt (see "Steps to Reproduce")

In a Writer table:

It is (seemingly) impossible to select all cells in a set of contiguous rows if
they contain more than one vertically-merged pair of cells. I don't know
exactly what conditions make some cells un-selectable (in combination with
others), but the attached demo document shows an example.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

1. Load the attached SelectBug.odt
2. Try to select the bottom two rows of the table, including the
vertically-spanned cells (everything except the header row).

3. (In real life, the next step would be to copy the selected rows and paste
them many times to create new tables. But you can't get this far.)

RESULTS: Impossible to select all cells in the bottom two rows of the table.

If you select a vertically-spanned cell on either end and try to sweep
horizontally with the mouse to pick up others, then some previously-selected
cells un-select themselves.

The widespread convention of Control-click to add/subtract from a selection set
does not work either (I don't think LO intended to follow this convention, but
probably it should for consistency with Microsoft Windows [though I hate to say
it])

EXPECTED RESULTS: There should be a way to select any contiguous set of cells,
or at least all cells in a contiguous set of rows. If feasible, the
"Control-Click to add/subtract from selection" paradigm would help users who
are familiar with selection methods in other software.

There are two UNO commands .uno:ExportToPDF and .uno:ExportDirectToPDF both
have correct context menu labels, but are duplicating their tooltip labels.

The Export Direct to PDF uses user default settings for the PDF export, while
the Export to PDF opens the dialog. The Export Direct is the default button on
the Standard toolbar, but the Export to PDF can be added via customize--but
that would be an uncommon customization to have both present.

@Jay, when you added the tooltip to GenericCommands.xcu [1][2] was the
duplicate intentional, or just an oops?

LibreOffice help is clear. But GerardF is correct that the function is not 100%
compatible with MS Excel.

By the way the current MS Excel help
http://web.archive.org/web/20170403173356/https://support.office.com/en-us/article/CELL-function-51BD39A5-F338-4DBE-A33F-955D67C2B2CF?ui=en-US=en-US=US
states that if the reference is missing, the CELL function uses the reference
for "the last cell that was changed".

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 106350] FORMATTING: literal tab \0x09 in text in cell lost after FILESAVE/FILEOPEN

2017-04-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon

In my experience to input a tab you should:
  - Select a cell
  - Click on the INPUT LINE
  - Copy text containing tabs from another file already containing them
  - Paste the text in the INPUT LINE.

In my experience the tabs are lost (converted to spaces) after either:
  *  hitting ENTER
  *  clicking on another cell
  *  hitting TAB.

So it happens before the FILESAVE operation.

Padding and borders are independent properties. Therefore it is correct, that a
padding is applied without having a border. In the upcoming version 5.4. this
will be reflected in the UI and all padding fields will be enabled, independent
of the borders. In the meantime, with older versions, you should first enable
temporarily all borders, set the paddings you need, and last enable only the
border you want.

I suggest to resolve to "worksforme".

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 106929] New: Can not edit interior table border style more than once (without un/re-selecting)

2017-04-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 106929
Summary: Can not edit interior table border style more than
once (without un/re-selecting)
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.2.2.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: jim.av...@gmail.com

Description:
If a table is selected (or multiple rows within a table), then the interior
border style can be changed only once. After clicking "OK" if Table-Properties
is opened again, interior borders are not editable -- they are not even shown
in the border-selector.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open the attached "bugdemo.odt"
2. Select the entire table; then Table->Properties
3. Click the interior border in the diagram and change something (Style, Width,
and/or Color). Click OK
4. See the change in the document
5. Table->Properties

Actual Results:
The border-selector diagram shows no interior borders. It is not possible to
make further edits on interior border styles (without de-selecting and
re-selecting the table).

Expected Results:
If Table Properties is re-opened after a change, it should work normally.

  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: j...@psilosoph.de

There are only a few functions in Calc accepting cuboids on one or more
parameter places. None of them is specified to do so explicitly in OpenFormula
v1.2 , but there is a general specification about the conversion of cuboids to
some kind of series accepted by a function. This conversion may be done by the
body of the respective function itself or, in advance of passing something to
the function, by the general part of the evaluator.

(At least) if done the second way it should be feasible without too much
complications to enrich the procedure by preposing a non-scalar evaluation
where applicable in a similar way as it is done for 2D-arrays under forced or
intrinsic array-evaluation as described in OpenFormula, paragraph 3.3.

I would suggest to implement an extended (3D) variant of array-evaluation for
expressions built (partly) from cuboids.

The number 12 (or =12 or -24/12) is interpreted by LO as twelve days after the
start of time.
Twelve days is equivalent to 288 hours.
Twelve days as a time is take to happen after the "start of time".
LO considers the "start of time" as being 1899-12-30 00:00:00.
So 12 is equivalent to '1900-01-11 00:00:00' or '288:00:00.00'.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 71098] PAGE-BREAK: sub-documents force a page-break when inserted in the master document

2017-04-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon

I do not have access to a newer version than LO 5.1.6. The sample document that
you have uploaded does also work well without inserting page breaks. However,
with some fiddling around on my own, I could create master documents with
unwanted page breaks automatically inserted between sub-documents.
Unfortunately, LO eventually crashed on them every time before I could take a
closer look.

Anyways, this does IMHO not support the predicate RESOLVED WORKSFORME, because
your sample does work for me as well whereas the problem is not resolved here.
May I ask you to recreate my own test by using several bigger sub-documents
used multiple times and occasionally interspersed with some text blocks? Sorry
to be of no big help but I will not have access to LO 5.3+ any time soon.

Perhaps Mateusz meant that in
office:time-value="PT288H00M00S"
the 288 is incorrect.

Let's consult the specs.
"The office:time-value attribute has the data type duration"
http://docs.oasis-open.org/office/v1.2/os/OpenDocument-v1.2-os-part1.html#__RefHeading__1417674_253892949

"18.2W3C Schema Datatypes

The following [xmlschema-2] datatypes are used in this specification:
●string
●date
●time
●dateTime
●decimal
●duration
...

"3.2.6.1 Lexical representation

The lexical representation for duration is the [ISO 8601]
extended format PnYn MnDTnH nMnS,
where nY represents the number of years,
nM the number of months,
nD the number of days,
'T' is the date/time separator,
nH the number of hours,
nM the number of minutes and nS the number of seconds.
The number of seconds can include decimal digits to arbitrary precision.

The values of the Year, Month, Day, Hour and Minutes components
are not restricted but allow an arbitrary unsigned integer, i.e.,
an integer that conforms to the pattern [0-9]+..
Similarly, the value of the Seconds component allows an arbitrary unsigned
decimal.
Following [ISO 8601], at least one digit must follow the decimal point if it
appears.
That is, the value of the Seconds component must conform to the pattern
[0-9]+(\.[0-9]+)?.
Thus, the lexical representation of duration does not follow the alternative
format of § 5.5.3.2.1 of [ISO 8601].
"
https://www.w3.org/TR/2004/REC-xmlschema-2-20041028/#duration

So the value 288 (for the Hour component) is valid as it conforms to the the
pattern [0-9]+

Please see

The spec says "time The value is stored in a office:time-value attribute
rather than a office:value. The value is stored in the form PThhHmmMss,S
(where is the fractional part of a second). "

But it is unclear that the ",S" part is mandatory.

It also presents an example of cell that produces a time value from the
contents of three cells.

"

10:05:48 AM

"

So the absence of the factional part is not the problem.

Think that 'compounded' means 'using flags' and 'aff file'. I don't think flags
can be used with personal dictionaries. Think those are two separate lists.
Don't think we should expect that compound feature affect personal dictionary.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 84565] Remember "keep ratio" checkbox and Save value in ODF file

2017-04-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=84565

Regina Henschel changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 CC||rb.hensc...@t-online.de

There are two features mixed up. The checkbox in the dialog is not related to
the property of the picture, but it is a property of the dialog. It says, that
the width and height field of the dialog are depend on each other. Of cause, it
would be useful if the dialog keeps the setting.

To extend the properties of an image to a feature "keep ratio on resize" is
different from such a checkbox. But such property cannot be a property of the
image itself, because images may be linked and because the image formats are
not under control of ODF or LibreOffice. Only the element, which
contains the image can have such property. There exist already a similar
feature for the "Image Control", where you can set the scale to "No", "Keep
ratio" or "Fit to size".

I would not mix these two things and split the request. Making the checkbox
setting persistent can be done immediately and perhaps should get an own bug.
It is independent from ODF.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 106919] CALC: moving cell A1 data changes reference of Range Names in chart which doesn 't reference cell A1

2017-04-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=106919

Created attachment 132310
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=132310=edit
File which exhibits bug described

Here's a file that exhibits the bug I reported. I have found a second mechanism
that causes the same behavior.

1) Open the file. Select and move cell A1 to another location. The names of the
series displayed on the chart change to
"Column B"
"Column F"
"Column R" and
"Column T"

If there is text in cell A1, this text becomes the series name on the chart.

Pressing Undo restores the A1 cell back to where it started, but doesn't affect
the chart.

2) Open the file. Delete the second page "worth".

The names of the series change in exactly the same way.

Pressing Undo restores the deleted page but leaves the Data Series names as the
range $Solar.$A$1:$A$1, where they had been quoted text.

Let me know if there's any additional information you need.

Dave

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 106926] New: FORMATING: Incorrect padding if border(s) not used

2017-04-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=106926

Bug ID: 106926
Summary: FORMATING: Incorrect padding if border(s) not used
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.3.1.2 release
  Hardware: IA64 (Itanium)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: h...@lehmkuhlen.de

I formatted a paragraph with a single border only before the paragraph. The
padding is set to 0,20 cm. If the check box „Synch“ isenabled, the padding for
the not set borders (left, right and bottom) are also set to 0,20 cm and (and
this is imho the bug) the paragraph will padded 0,20 cm even there is no
border.

+1 for this functionality, which I find very often required. The rationale has
been described well by others: document styles which require chapters to start
on a rh page, but blank page to be clearly indicated as a) part of the document
with headers / footers / page numbers etc; b) intentionally blank, with some
text or watermark to say so.

Seeing as that's the same version I have, I suspect the issue is with the
default theme rather than the gtk3 version. I'm guessing the default theme is
NuMix or something like that. Assuming gnome-tweak-tool is available on the
ArchLinux-derived Antergos then see if changing theme to Adwita makes a
difference. If it does then we know its a theming issue.

Then why do I not see the problem? It is completely normal to ask for a file in

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 106817] Custom color palettes as extension can't be edited

Accepted if not wanted. But I mean neither an override nor a merge. Imported
palettes should be handled like custom palettes but should still be separate
palettes. (Don't know how the palette management is implemented now, in a
user's POV it only needs a "edit-possible" or "handled-like-custom" flag set to
the imported palettes. :-) ) Example:

--
| imported palette | <--- edit possible
| imported palette | <--- edit possible
| custom palette | <--- edit possible
| LibO breeze palette| <--- no edit possible
| LibO xyz palette | <--- no edit possible
| LibO standard palette | <--- no edit possible
--

With that others can also improve/edit palettes and it's not stuck(!) to the
first and original editor and export user of the palette.
(Use case if user edits the imported palette unwantedly: 1) Users fear changes,
so this isn't a problem that I see. 2) If a user did a change, it can be undone
by re-importing the extension palette easily.)

> > Suggestion 2:
> > It should be possible to pick the custom color palette file and imported

What I meant is if the custom palette were saved as a separate .soc file in the
user's profile, you could take the imported extension palette .soc file from
user\uno_packages\cache\uno_packages\lu123 and you could copy that file to the
place where the custom palette would be saved. Then you could rename both so
that the new .soc file (and not the original custom palette .soc file) is
handled like the custom palette in LibreOffice.

But as you said, the custom palette is now part of the
registrymodifications.xcu (and no separate .soc file anymore) which makes it
extraordinarily difficult to handle this use case.

> There is no use case to make palette handling as easy as possible, and when

I explained the use case above and in the initial bug comment.
I don't want any new options. The user should have nothing to do. It should
just be possible to edit imported palettes like custom palettes. Maybe if it's
not wanted then a flag in the Expert Configuration could be set.

I see the same problem what other people have discovered.

"How have you made it so it is invisible? Maybe we will find out, if you attach
a file with the problem?"

It doesn't make ANY sense to ask for any file. The problem is in program not in
the file. As simple as fact any empty file has it.

I see the bug under Linux with Openoffice 4.1.3 or any new version of
Libreoffice.

If I type inside of text box the box borders remain invisible.
To be able to select it one need to click slightly above the text, but then
I can only see cyan rectangles. That is very inconvenient.

Previous versions (3.X) of OpenOffice were working fine. Not it's not.

Openoffice as well as Libreoffice are way too bugy. To find a bug one need
sometimes less than 5 min. Why nobody test them?

Well Openoffice is slightly better.
