It seems as if this changed at some time, or I don't understand how it works. In a presentation one wants to prevent text from running off the slide. Therefore the text size should be reduced to fit the frame. What one does NOT want to happen is for a single word to be stretched to fill the frame. The text can become unreadable and simply makes no sense - the font proportions should be maintained. It also means that when one saves the presentation to a Microsoft format, the slides are messed up. I also feel that there are too many places where such font manipulation takes place and who this is worked out in practice: the same attribute seems to be in format/position and size as well as format/text. I can never figure out which has precedence, and when I have figured it out, next time I try, I have forgotten and have to go through the same process again. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 106993] Unable to apply/modify direct formatting of bullet/ numbering character in the Bullets Dialog
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=106993 --- Comment #7 from Regina Henschel--- If you change the appearance of the bullet "directly", then it is no really direct, but you are changing the associated character style. For the bullet list, which you get by the icon, it is "Bullets", for the numbered list, it is "Numbering Symbol". Such change affects all lists, which have this character style set for their symbol. To get the same from the "Bullet and Numbering" dialog, a button "Edit style" could be added, in case the style is not "None". If the character style of the bullet is "None", (which means, that the setting of the paragraph is used), then you cannot change the bullet "directly", because there is no place to store the information. Strangely, the character style is very inconsistent set in the default lists. The small dots from the presets have "Bullets", the large dots have "None" and the style List1 has "Numbering Symbols". -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 106781] Addition of a style-focused formatting toolbar
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=106781 Yousuf Philips (jay)changed: What|Removed |Added Depends on||106988, 106999 --- Comment #18 from Yousuf Philips (jay) --- (In reply to LibreTraining from comment #6) > I was just looking at the style buttons included on the eLAIX extension > toolbar. > That extension is designed for creating epub3 compatible documents so it has > the expected H1, H2, H3, etc. The toolbar seems interesting. > But it also has buttons for List styles and Object styles. Unlike the paragraph style buttons, eLAIX bundles its own set of list styles which it applies when the list style buttons are pressed. > So consider adding List style and Object style buttons. I've added three list style buttons (Bullet, Number, Roman) to the toolbar, as those are available builtin list styles. Hopefully when a better set of default list style are added (bug 106988), more can be added to the toolbar. When you say Object styles, do you mean Frame styles, and if so, which Frame styles? > Maybe even Page styles too. Which page styles do you suggest? Most of the default ones look the same, except envelope, landscape, left page, and right page. (In reply to Thomas Lendo from comment #8) > The following ideas are an enhancement for a style-focused formatting > toolbar. > It it's worth I could create a new bug for it (or a bug for every widget?). Yes it would be a good idea, so i've filed a bug for it (bug 107000). > One other important point is localization - most languages need more space > than English, therefore we can't fill the whole toolbar with text buttons. The finalized toolbar would have icons rather than text, so there wouldnt be an issue of space there. (In reply to Thomas Lendo from comment #16) > Jay: > Do the wanted toggle behavior of style buttons (mentioned in bug 106681, > comment 27, paragraph 2) needs a new bug or is it covered by an existing > one?
