https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=107004 --- Comment #8 from Adolfo Jayme --- FWIW, the DirectWrite renderer, released eigth years ago with Windows 7, also dropped support for obsolete Type-1 fonts, which means that MS Office, since its 2013 version, has also dropped the format. The world moved on to OpenType long ago. Not our fault that some people seem not to have gotten the memo. That box is perfect! I don't believe it was ever presented to me, since the colors are also quite distinctive. If that's what people usually see, it's exactly right. The question is if and when the box is presented. My workflow somehow routed me around that warning. Follow is what I did earlier, and I just replicated it: *Exported a file form a website in csv to my local computer. *Opened the file with LO Calc. *Edited the file to create a new worksheet on the lower tab display. *Closed the file and reopened, and saw the second tab was gone. I did not do the following: *Open a blank/new file with calc. *Resave an .ods file as .csv. Perhaps the beautiful box could be displayed in more cases? [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 107099] New: Filesave of csv allows saving separate worksheets. But closing document saves only one worksheet
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=107099 Bug ID: 107099 Summary: Filesave of csv allows saving separate worksheets. But closing document saves only one worksheet Product: LibreOffice Version: 4.2.5.2 release Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Calc Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: raf...@truenorthprojects.com Description: I just learned the hard way that one cannot save multiple worksheets inside a .csv file (unlike a spreadsheet). I lost several hours of work. I will never make this mistake again, but others might. What fooled me was that I was able to save versions of the .csv file in different worksheets, so I thought I was backing up along the way. LibreOffice pleasantly allowed me to save the different worksheets, and displayed the worksheet tabs and names at the bottom the same as if it were a spreadsheet file. But when I closed and reopened the .csv file, all the worksheet tabs were gone, along with hours of work and my sanity. So this is a feature request. To prevent others from repeating my mistake, perhaps have LO fail faster and more gracefully, such as refusing to save a separate worksheet and offering a warning. Thank you for your consideration. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open a csv file 2. Create a new worksheet at the bottom, with a different name. Save. LO will display multiple worksheets at the bottom. Save. 3. Close the file. Actual Results: Upon reopening, only one worksheet is visible (probably the most recent one). Expected Results: IMPOSSIBLE: Multiple worksheets would still be visible. I understand this is impossible. ALTERNATIVE SUGGESTION: Prompt, firm and efficient failure: Have LO refuse to allow creating/saving more than one worksheet, and offer a notice that csv files cannot have multiple worksheets. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: Perhaps some might call this a feature request rather than a bug. However, I just lost half a day of paintaking work (and some faith in LO), so the consequences are not trivial. Also, I was directed to submit feature requests here also. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=92550 tmacalp changed: What|Removed |Added CC||tmac...@gmail.com --- Comment #12 from tmacalp --- One of my users runs into this bug all the time and is quite frustrated by it. My workaround has been to manually resize the formula bar by dragging a spot that isn't over a button. When it's resized back to its normal size, the behavior is fixed. After a bit of experimentation, another workaround is to place the cursor over one of the buttons, hold left-click and then right click. While I agree that this is easy to work around once you understand the behavior, it's quite frustrating and very easy to accidentally trigger. On my system, the section that overlaps both a button click action and the resize action is 3px tall. With the button itself only being ~20px tall, that's a good chunk. The other elements in the formula bar appear to handle this behavior properly and override the resize action with their own. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 107095] New: FORMATTING: Means to convert direct formatting into styles
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=107095 Bug ID: 107095 Summary: FORMATTING: Means to convert direct formatting into styles Product: LibreOffice Version: unspecified Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: medium Component: LibreOffice Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: thomas.le...@gmail.com Created attachment 132479 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=132479&action=edit Concept of sidebar menu and optional prefix/suffix dialog Because the UI of LibreOffice is enforcing the user to use direct formatting (aka hard formatting) instead of styles, it would be useful to convert all direct formatting in a document with a mouse click into styles. This is useful for LibO users * who want solely working with styles and * who are working with others who don't use styles but direct formatting. Example request: https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/80619/transform-manual-formatting-into-styles/ Conceptual steps: - User clicks a menu entry or sidebar button named "Convert Formatting" (see attached concept image). - With that function all formatting information which is not part of an existing style in the document will be saved as new style (paragraph formatting will be saved as paragraph style, word and character formatting as character style, table formatting as table style, etc.). - Either the style names are completely pre-defined by LibO or the user has a choice for example for a prefix/suffix to style names. - All direct formatting that was converted to styles should be cleared. - The new styles will be listed in the appropriate Style and Formatting sidebar panel where the user can work with them like the other styles. Pre-defined names for the new styles could be "Paragraph style 1" or "Paragraph style red" (if the name is influenced by detected style attributes, e.g. the paragraph font color is red) and "Character style 1" or "Character style red" (if a single word is colored or highlighted red). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
