[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 108338] New: Numeric formatting using the _ does not work
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=108338 Bug ID: 108338 Summary: Numeric formatting using the _ does not work Product: LibreOffice Version: 5.3.2.2 release Hardware: All OS: NetBSD Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Calc Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: p...@whooppee.com Description: In the "other" spreadsheet program, I would be able to apply a format of '#,##0_._0_0' to request that space for a decimal point and two fractional digits be reserved, but not printed; with horizontal-alignment of "right" the above format would align correctly with numbers formatted at '#,##0.00'. However, with Calc, the _ formatting directive doesn't seem to work. It allows me to create a user-defined format, but when the document is saved and then reloaded, all formats with the _x type of directive are replaced with modified formats that have trailing quoted spaces instead of the _x directive(s). And the number of spaces does not seem to be correct for ensuring vertical alignment. Steps to Reproduce: 1.Format a number using the _0 (or any other _x) 2.Save document, exit program 3.Restart program, open document, observe formatting changes Actual Results: format string for affected numeric fields is changed to include " " (number of spaces varies). Expected Results: Specified formatting (with the _ directive) should be retained. Alternatively, if the conversion to " " formatting is absolutely essential, at least the amount of space being inserted should correspond to the intended behavior (ie, proper alignment). Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: According to Mike Kaganski, he has reproduced this on 5.3.3.2 and requested that I file this bug report. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 108337] New: Writer, Calc, Impress, Math crash when closing a document
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=108337 Bug ID: 108337 Summary: Writer, Calc, Impress, Math crash when closing a document Product: LibreOffice Version: 5.3.1.2 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: LibreOffice Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: cxgarande...@free.fr Created attachment 133852 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=133852=edit gdbtrace log When i close a document in LO, it crashes. It crashes with any file, including an empty file. If the file is unsaved, the dialog asking for saving unsaved changed is displayed and after answering yes, the document is saved. But any LO settings changes are not saved. When opening LO, the recovery document window is then always displayed. This bug has many uncomfortable consequences: - When there are many opened files, it is impossible to close a file leaving others opened. LO crashes and any unsaved changes on the opened document are lost. Hopefully the recovery process works. - When opening calc from the calc icon, a blank workbook is opened. When opening a document with the open... command, this empty workbook is closed, causing calc to crash. - It is impossible to change LO settings as they are not saved. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Toolbar on top: pre-installed Formatting (Styles) toolbar of LO 5.5.0.0 alpha0 which shows only English style names except "Betont" (emphasis character style). 2. Toolbar on the bottom: custom toolbar with the same styles, made by me with LO 5.5.0.0 alpha0 which shows the same styles, all paragraph and character styles are German but not the list styles except Numbered List 5 (German: Nummerierung 5). I renamed Heading 1-3 manually to Ü1, Ü2, Ü3. But in the XML file you can see that character style "Default" and list style "Numbered List 5" also have names (toolbar:text="Standard" + toolbar:text="Nummerierung 5") which were not added by me but from LO. Robert, perhaps I haven't described this adequately. Let me try to explain it again. Consider this simple set of tables: +---+ | Table1_ID | +---++---+ | Table2_FK | -> | Table2_ID | +---++---+ | Name || Title | +---++---+ | ...| ... SELECT Table1_ID, Table2_FK, Name, .. Table2_ID, Title .. FROM Table1 Right Join Table2 ... +---+---+--+.. +---+---+.. | Table1_ID | Table2_FK | Name | | Table2_ID | Title | +---+---+--+.. +---+---+.. | 0 | 0 | Mike | | 0 | Clerk | +---+---+--+.. +---+---+.. If you edit Table2_FK and change it for example from 0 to 1, and then move the focus either left or right, to another cell on the same row, then any dirty Table2 fields are first saved, and the newly pointed to record in Table2 is displayed in it's place. Because only one field can be edited at a time, this works beautifully, and it resolves the question Lionel had asked. Now once you have that in hand, the next step is what new features does this make possible? * It makes it so that forms that use a query for a data-source, are also now more often editable. In particular you can edit joined tables, instead of just simple tables. The form will also need to save and update fields just the same as the query does above. In a table control this should be fairly easy to make this work I think. Hope I have explained this better. I'm excited about this becoming reality someday. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

I saw your demo document. OK. Generally I understood. I would like to confirm this report. Actually, I am also suffering from these problems. However, as I told. This report seems to include multiple phenomena that are strongly related, but the causes are not necessarily identical, I think. I think that the contents of the demo document can be broken down into at least 4 events. (1) Undesirable division of Base text, when the function of "Asian Phonetic Guide" is called with some characters selected in advance. (2) When we modify the division of the base text in the "Asian Phonetic Guide" dialog box, the original string grows illegally. (It seems to be reproduced when there are multiple lines of Base text.) (3) When we call the function of "Asian Phonetic Guide" with no character selection, the next character after cursor position is set to Base text, unexpectedly. (4) When we move the Base text of one line to another line in "Asian Phonetic Guide" dialog box, that character disappears in the body. (Didn't reproduced in my environment. Blank lines are locked, and I can't input any characters.) As you say, (1) and (3), (2) and (4) may be the same problem respectively. But I do not know the truth. I don't know the way to sign up to mailing lists without sending an e-mail. Is there any problem to send an e-mail? Robert, I don't think you see what I'm trying to convey. Let me try to explain it again. First, there is no longer any reason that any field in a query should not be editable. Consider this simple set of tables: +---+ | Table1 ID | +---++---+ | Table2 FK | -> | Table2 ID | +---++---+ | Name || Title | +---++---+ | ...| ... If you instead move right nothing is done. 2) If you edit Table2 FK from 0 to 1, and then move the focus to another cell, any prior changes to Table2 ID are pushed to the database, and then Name, Table2 ID and Title get updated from the new Table2 ID. 3) If you edit Name nothing is done until If you edit -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
