[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 47295] Default paragraph style should be "Text body" and not "Default "
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47295 --- Comment #13 from V Stuart Foote--- The 100% font metric size is the core measurement for any textual content, not the value (115%) now assigned to Text Body. Anywhere that uses Default paragraph (aka Standard) for multi-line spacing would be impacted by moving from 100% (as read from Font metric) to a proportional 115% scaling. And when lining up textual content (e.g. text boxes and frames) with paragraph styling gets disrupted. We gain little by refactoring everything that inherits from default to pick up the value for Text Body. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 108458] Label changes for Toolbar use degrade function listing in the Customize dialog--have duplicate entries on the list
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=108458 Yousuf Philips (jay)changed: What|Removed |Added Blocks|113510 | --- Comment #11 from Yousuf Philips (jay) --- (In reply to Maxim Monastirsky from comment #10) > I think the rule is this: If the upper menu (either top level or the menu > item which points to the current sub menu) says the context, then it's > dropped from its sub menu items. i.e. in my example - because the top level > menu says "Insert", the word "insert" doesn't need to be repeated in its > menu items, so it's sufficient to just say "Image" or "Comment". If this is > true, we might build on this rule (see below). Yes ContextLabel is normally short when the top level or sub menu give the context, but you also have entries where the hierarchy only helps with organization and the string is independent like File > Preview in Web Browser, Edit > Select All, View > Hide Whitespace, Format > Spacing > Increase Paragraph Spacing, Table > Merge Cells, Tools > Mail Merge Wizard. > Yes, I know. What I meant was "_if_ that was possible to do w/o translation > problems". As we had similar possibility back in the days menus were in .src > files, and I can't remember any complaints about it. So which xml files did you want to do this in (menus, context menus, toolbars)? > The way to do this is probably to store the "Label" contents in the > customized xml file (as we can't just ignore PopupLabel for customized > menus, as it will affect the whole menu). But doing this will reintroduce > Bug 101374. If we added the label into the xml as mentioned above, we'd also have the same problem when changing the UI. Maybe we could use the 'Label' contents and it works in whatever UI the user switches to something like this. > Will need to check in the config reading code, if that's OK to have > non-translatable string, inside an otherwise translatable property. Also > will need to check how bad it will affect performance, as this will require > to compare each and every string with a known set of property names. Check and see if there is a performance hit. If so, i know you'll figure out a way to do it without one :D > Why? Suppose there is a long string and a short string. The original command > gets the long string, and everything that needs the long string uses the > original command. The alias gets the short string, and everything that needs > the short string uses the alias. I don't see any additional translatable > strings. Could you give an xml example of this so i can better get it. :D > This is by design. Alias is just another identifier for the same underlying > command. How useful it is to have in the list several items pointing to the > same command, but with a slightly different title? And anyway aliases should > *not* appear in the keyboard tab, as aliases can't have kb shortcuts by > their own, as allowing this will make it impossible to show the kb shortcut > next to an alias menu item, because you can't assign the same kb shorcut to > several command. True that its just another identifier, but when users open up the customization dialog and search for example 'new slide' in impress as it appears in the Slide menu and dont find the entry and dont have any indication that its the same as 'new page', this isnt an easy issue for users to deal with. > Don't see much problem here, as long as we put the alias next to the > original command (or if we find a way to have the alias as a property inside > the original command). Yes i was trying to have the alias in the same original command in my example xml code. :D > I will consider this, but usually I try to avoid live discussions, as my > live communication abilities aren't that good. Your text communications seem to be perfect, so dont know why your live communications would be any different. No need to be shy, you dont have to turn on your webcam if you dont want to. ;D > Anyway I would like throw an additional idea: > > 1. Label - always full name, used for menus. > 2. ContextLabel - always short name (where applicable), used for toolbars, > fallback to Label. (And such usage aligns well with the name "ContextLabel", > as short names are about dropping the context when it's obvious.) > 3. PopupLabel - used for context menus, fallback to Label. (Ideally only for > slight changes, like a different accelerator. Completely different name like > "More Options" I would prefer to have in alias, and hopefully there will be > no that much of them.) > 4. Each context menu or a menu item which opens another menu (including top > level menu) gets a new optional property "menu:contextlabel". When set to > true, that menu will be forced to use ContextLabel instead of PopupLabel or > Label. This is based on the rule I suggested in the beginning

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 113506] EDITING: X axis editing problem in Calc
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=113506 --- Comment #7 from Dr. Matthias Weisser--- (In reply to Regina Henschel from comment #6) > A category axis does not allow to set a grid interval, only for dates it is > possible. In that case you have to set type "date" for the x-axis of the > line chart. But I do not see that your x-axis has dates. Your x-axis has > simple automatic integer numbers. Why does using an XY-chart do not solve > your problem? unfortunately I am not a real specialist for using Calc as designers of this might have thought of. I tried out what worked for me and ended up doing so as above. As can be seen I was able getting a picture showing the data. Also I am able clicking on the axes to change them. This works for me as it did in MS Excel also. Unfortunately it does not work in LO. This bothers me. I simply do not understand why this is not possible there. I really would like the behaviour as it was using MS Excel. This was easy and understandable. I do not understand LO here. May be I am too stupid. Sorry for that. May be also many others are as stupid as me. I think this could be the case. Therefore I hope there will be some help here. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Changing the image size makes the text around floating and may end in a Schroedinger situations when at the end of the page. However, sometimes it makes sense to keep the image size, so ideally we have two possible interactions. IIRC, the idea was to make that depending the outer frame. If there is a distance between the inner frame (aka image) and the outer it should remain. Otherwise the image keeps it's size. Armin asked many people about the expectation, and likely knows how to solve it. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 113433] Drawing object properties: Icons should display recent used colour
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=113433 --- Comment #4 from Christian Lehmann--- There is some interference here with another bug that I reported concerning this symbol bar (taken up by Yousuf Philips): The fill color item occurs doubly in v. 5.4.2.2. And in one of its occurrences, it does show the current color. Maybe we can keep this one and discard the blue picture. Please remember that color is not the only property to be applied to drawings. I am referring to all of them. As far as properties chosen by the user go, there are, in fact, three desiderata: - If I click on a drawing, the properties displayed in the properties bar should be those of the object in question. Instead, they are always the same. - If I insert a series of such drawings in a document (remember we are talking about text documents, not pictures), then it is more probable that all of them have the same graphic properties than that each of them will be different. Therefore, it would be helpful if Writer could simply remember the properties used last and then, if the properties bar pops up again, offer the same values to be applied to the next drawing, so I do not need to set them again. - Several of the properties menus and combo boxes on this symbol bar have an option 'Standard' (probably 'Default' in the English version). This could be useful if the user were actually allowed to define his standard. As it is now, he is not, and he is not even told what these defaults are, so these defaults are useless. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

I had a look at properties of images not of drawings. I can confirm your bug. I think it is not the problem, that writer doesn't remeber the recent used colour.
