to install the font. Well, I found Fedora has packaged the font:

So they should be installable with

I don't understand what you are saying. The entries contained a TAB after
shortname, but IT WAS ZERO. Like I said, change the tab stop position from zero
to 3 cm in the [T] element.

This is the wrong way to do it: "you had edited the paragraph style
Bibliography 1 and set Tabs - Position of 3,00 cm."

I've not succeeded installing a 3.3 version of LO on Linux due to an error
loading a component library file called "libsfxlx.so",
But I've tried using a previous installed version of Openoffice (4.1.2) and the
bug is the same so I can confirm it has been inherited by OOO.

Simpler repro steps as described in duplicate bug 116247:

Add borders to an empty page, and save it in DOC or DOCX format, then reopen
the document.

=> Margin is changed (eg. default 2 cm is changed to 2.05 cm).

Attaching a sample with varied margins:  1.5 / 2.5 / 1 / 3 cm (left / right /
top / bottom).

When saving in DOC format the margins become: 1.51 / 2.51 / 1.01 / 3.01 cm.
When saving in DOCX format the margins become: 1.55 / 2.55 / 1.05 / 3.05 cm.

Here are the steps to reproduce:

1. open the attached test document (find.odt)
2. open the Find toolbar (Ctrl-f)
3. enter 'text' without quotes, in the Find box
4. click the 'Find All' button
all 'text' are higlighted
5. click the 'Find and Replace' button (magnifing glass and pencil)
Find & Replace Dialog opens
6. click on Find Next button
first 'text' in document is highlighted
7. click on Find Next button

Result: Next 'text' in document is not highlighted.

Expected Result: Next 'text' in document is highlighted.

The dialog Find Previous and Find All buttons also do not work as expected.

Okay, I updated the title.
I can't reproduce it in Windows 7 with LO 5.4.5.1, either it's a Linux-specific
bug, or the reproduction steps are ambiguous.
Could you attach sample files with chart / data and describe specific steps?

Appears to be a REGRESSION.

The problem does NOT occur with  version 5.1.3.0.0+

and all later versions I tried.

Description:
The attached .odt file, when converted to pdf, as a strange problem: Certain
areas of text can not be copy-and-pasted correctly.   The copied text is
silently corrupted, causing certain characters to be dropped or duplicated. 
Very strange.






Steps to Reproduce:


1. Open attached "bug.odt" and do File->Export to PDF
   (or open the attached .pdf)

2. Open the .pdf file.  Select the string "critt...@example.com" with the
mouse, and then Control-C to copy.

3. Put cursor in a terminal (e.g. gnome-terminal) window.  Control-Shift-V to
paste.


Actual Results:  
Something else is pasted (a corrupted version of the text).

Expected Results:
What is displayed should be copied.


Reproducible: Always


User Profile Reset: No



Additional Info:
NOTE: In real life, the problem arises in files which have been modified by
non-LO software (The ODF::lpOD perl library), and seemingly only in tables.   I
have not been able to reproduce it with text entered manually.  The attached
demo file is a cut-down copy of a user directory generated from a database
using a software tool.

Hi Jacques,
There is no such option in 6.0.2.1 (x64) both in Ubuntu and Windows (virtual
machine downloaded from LibreOffice site, today). I have checked this before
submitting the bug.

Hi, I've upgraded to Version: 6.0.2.1.0+ Build ID: 6.0.2-1 and the problem
seems solved.
Maybe you don't find any matter because you let LO to find the connection by
itself and to ask for password?
The problem appeared launching a startup script (Tools > Customize > Events >
associating script to "Document Loading Finished" event) or running it from a
button.
But now it seems working.

Particularly with long text documents containing images, scrolling performance
is much slower when using the keyboard's directional arrow keys (not
PageUp/PageDown) than when using the mouse wheel. One side-effect is that if
you press and hold for more than a few seconds, when you release the key
LibreOffice Writer will keep scrolling for a while until it stopped processing
the queue of keypress events.

I posit that the reason why the mousewheel is more performant is that its
scroll events are discrete (I don't have one of those analog super-smooth
scroll wheels or touchpads, mine just goes "click click click" while you rotate
the wheel), whereas pressing and holding the keyboard's arrow keys generates
dozens of events per second, flooding LibreOffice with those. The result is
that scrolling "feels" slower than it could be if those events were
"compressed" to a lower rate.

Of course, in an ideal world any kind of scrolling (including "smooth"
scrolling) should be performant and responsive. I'm just saying that I see
better scrolling performance with "clicky" mousewheels than the keyboard, and
that there could be a possibility of optimizing the keyboard (i.e.: "don't do
too much/needless work") to match that kind of performance.

However I still think there is a bug. Please note, that the composition of
entries book excerpt and article both contain already a TAB after shortname:
The TAB should push the following author information to the 3cm position.

But this is achieved only after reassigning the § to the two lines in the
index...
If it was not a bug, why should the entries change when I reassign the §?

I also tried deleting the TAB from the entries composition and reinserting the
TAB in the same place to make sure that the TAB in the § was already set when
inserting the TAB into the entry composition. But that failed too.

The visual difference is a symbol on the left of the spelling language name. If
there is no symbol, no language pack or spell checking extension is installed
for this language.

Prompting the user to install something is not so easy from design perspective.
Most people can't install it only because of a short info message dialog. Many
ways how LibO is installed (Win-Installer, extracted Package, with Package
system like on Linux distributions, portable Version ...) result in many ways
how it must be handled.

The original text in that dialog box was really confusing, so we’ve improved it

Aah, there we have the answer to the mystery: "Type1". Type1 fonts are no
longer supported, but I found an OTF version of Nimbus:

The correct way to make an HTML paragraph is to wrap it in  tags, using
 only forces a line break, which LibreOffice does not consider as a
paragraph break. If you think this is wrong, please open a new issue since this
has nothing to do with copying from HTML or Arabic, you can get the same in any
text by inserting a manual line break
(https://help.libreoffice.org/Writer/Insert_Manual_Break) and it happens with
Arabic and English alike.

Hi Buovjaga,

When I select a text box, Libreoffice shows that Nimbus Roman No9 L is used for
the text in that text box.  That font name shows in italics.  But When I bring
up the menu of fonts as though I wanted to change the font, Nimbus Roman No9 L
is not among the choices of fonts.

What I find curious is that Nimbus Roman No9 L is already installed on my
system.  It's in directory "/usr/share/fonts/default/Type1/":
-rw-r--r--. 1 root root  43432 Feb 11  2017 n021003l.afm
-rw-r--r--. 1 root root 101374 Feb 11  2017 n021003l.pfb
So how do I get LibreOffice to once again make that available to me?

Not in Arabic or in languages where diacritics are not parts of the letters (in
Arabic خالد and خَالِدْ are the same word). It is just like case-insensitive
search being the default.

I didn’t notice any performance difference last I tried this, but I didn’t do
