** Please read this message in its entirety before responding **

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Tested with Libo6.1alpha (daily)

Open attached file, created with Libo6.0.4 embedded hsql data and a single
View.

Check the tables, the View was not migrated.

I would of expected for the view definition do migrate just as the single query
in that test file did.

OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

 Component: Base
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: drewjensen.in...@gmail.com

Created attachment 141292
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=141292=edit
This is the source file after it was also opened under 6.1

Attempted to open an ODB with embedded HSQL data which would not finish the
migration process to embedded firebird. So, opened the existing ODB in an older
version of Libo (5.4x from Ubuntu repo) and drag drop individual tables into a
new ODB created with 6.1Alpha (from today's daily build). The 6.1 odb frame
does not respond to the dragged table.

I did the same again but using a copy of LibO 6.0.4 (also from daily builds) as
the source, same problem, Libo 6.1 does not respond to the dropped table.

I can open a file in Libo 6.1 (used the attached file, which was created as
hsqld under 6.0 and conversted on first open with 6.1) with exisiting tables
and sucessfully drag drop individual tables to a fresh ODB, this triggers the
dialog expected and finished with a clean import on a couple of test tables.

To reproduce: open any ODB file with tables in a version of LibO 6.0 or less
(with experimental features on) or use any hsql odb with tables.

Start Libo 6.1, create and empty ODB file, drag and drop a table from the
source to the target window.

Test machine is Ubuntu 17.10 (vanilla AMD 64bit)

What do you mean "go for it"? I'm not a developer :)
This was simply a request for an enhancement. If no developer finds this
interesting then it can be closed.
I'm no longer using LibreOffice but I still think this makes sense.

We talked about the topic in the design meeting. Question is whether we want to
provide a full WYSIWYG preview. And we show only a few properties and do not
provide a full preview. One idea is to show the selection independently from
the style (could also be done on hover like happening in the dropdown) but
there are other settings that intentionally makes the style hardly readable
like small font sizes, e.g. the Horizontal Line.

So the decision was to accept the situation => WFM.

In PowerPoint the link colors can only be set in themes, not individually:

Not sure how LO can properly support that, though if there's a single given
color this should be possible.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 116948] New: Impulse: Missing shortcut to move clumns/ rows fast in a table in writer (like AmiPro/WordPro did)

2018-04-11 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=116948

Bug ID: 116948
Summary: Impulse: Missing shortcut to move clumns/rows fast in
a table in writer (like AmiPro/WordPro did)
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: die-m...@ok.de

English:
The tables in Writer still lack a single function that was already possible in
AmiPro/WordPro for effective work:

"Move table rows/columns with a key combination."

For both simple and large tables, the contents often have to be sorted
differently, which would simply be possible by moving individual rows/columns
with a key combination.

Unfortunately the key combinations +arrow keys are already assigned
elsewhere but maybe you can find another solution?

I read Yannick's comment in this way and added Caolan (though it's totally
unrelated to the icons question). Thing is that I'm not sure how numerical
stepper vs. dropdown controls look under macOS and if the screenshot shows an
issue. The Linux theme makes the difference of controls perfectly clear.
Pulling all together, please file a bug report, Yannick.

Back to the topic, we decided to keep the status quo until Colibre is ready
with 6.1. Then we make the move (I'll do the changes in the scripts).

Hi,

It seems that existing files are irreversibly broken.

Automatic conversion is always dangerous if not only the driver itself is
changed, but the internal data structure is.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 116945] New: Absolute icon references modified during runtime

2018-04-11 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=116945

Bug ID: 116945
Summary: Absolute icon references modified during runtime
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.3.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: UI
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: michael.e.milli...@gmail.com

The component I was using when I first saw this bug was Base. I inserted a
pushbutton control into a form and modified the graphics property (in the
control property dialog box) to be an absolute path reference to a png icon
file. The graphic was displayed properly in the button at the time, and I
saved the database document as an odb file. I then invoked that odb file via a
symbolic link in my Desktop folder (which is different than the folder the
actual odb file is stored in) and the icon does not appear on the button.

Upon investigation, I found that the path name that I had entered for the icon
had been modified based on whether I invoked the database from the original odb
file or the symbolic link pointing to that file.

Actual path to icon file:
/home/USER/Projects/kitchen/images/icon.png
Actual path to odb file
/home/USER/Projects/kitchen/db.odb
Path to link to odb:
/home/USER/Desktop/db.odb

Path entered in the control dialog box for graphic:
/home/USER/Projects/kitchen/images/icon.png
(this path is reported any time database is opened from the actual file)
Path reported in control dialog box for graphic when opened from link:
/home/USER/Projects/Projects/images/icon.png

This transformation of path is reproducible. Any time the database is opened
from the actual database odb file, the correct pathname is used and the
graphics appear properly. Any time the database is opened from the link on the
desktop, the reduplication of the Projects element occurs and the graphics do
not appear.

I have discovered a work-around that works in this particular case, but is
untested in any other case. If I enter the path for the icon as
~/Projects/kitchen/icon.png, the problem does not occur, and the database opens
properly from either the actual odb file or the symbolic link referencing it.

Seen in mailinglists there should exist an automatically migration from
internal HSQLDB-files to internal Firebird. The I wrote the following to the
global users mailnglist:

Opened the database, which is part of the Base Handbook:
"Media_without_Macros".
No comment like "Internal HSQLB" appears at the bottom of the window.
Tried to open the tablecontainer.
No table appears, but after some time the following message:

Connection to datasource "Media_without_Macros" couldn't be established.

firebird_sdbc error:
*Dynamic SQL Error
*SQL error code = -104
*Token unknown - line 1, column 163
*BLOB
caused by
'isc_dsql_prepare'

I haven't set the experimental features to "yes". I wasn't asked if I
want to change the database from HSQLDB to Firebird.

Base should never be a playground for such a function. People will loos
their data and will never again use LO after starting one database with
this automatic.

1. An automatic migration should never be installed from a working
internal database to a database, which is an "experimental feature"
(Firebird) - and never means: also never with a daily build.
2. A migration should only be offered, never automatically, when
internal Firebird database has been activated.
3. The migration should create a new database with the migrated content,
not overwrite the old database.

Attaching four dumps of four different cases:
- flyin_good.xml: PPT as created in Impress,
- flyin_origPP.xml: PPT as created in PowerPoint,
- flyin_bad.xml: PPT created in Impress, then roundtripped in PowerPoint,
- flyin_PPfixed.xml: PPT created in Impress, then roundripped in PowerPoint,
while setting the same animation again.

Out of these only the third (flyin_bad.xml) isn't played correctly in Impress.
Nevertheless, the original PPT produced by Impress might contain attribute
combinations PowerPoint isn't expecting, hopefully the dumps shed some light on
that.

Are your Windows user profiles setting the Ricoh network printer as default?

Does the crash happen with the other LibreOffice modules or just Impress?

Does the crash happen if you set a different Default printer (so document gets

import HSQLDB binary data to Firebird format, and disable the filter for this
driver.

it with a more general solution, so I expect this is also fixed as a
side-effect.

That is true. It would be nice if --show respected the setting. If possible
though, it would be nice to be able to set a flag somewhere in the settings
such that Impress slideshows open windowed by default. For my case, I need to
open all my slideshows windowed. So that's what I'm looking forward to the
most.

OK then, back to original scope of wrong descriptions (duplicating of parent
function).

And for those functions without descriptions in local help, showing blank, that
is a different HelpGaps BZ issue/task.
