Hi, thanks for getting back to me on this!

> This chart is only an example. The easiest way to create a chart in Writer is
> to create a table with your data, select this table and click the icon. That
> gives you the chart wizard.

This is interesting, I didn't know about this option. It isn't the most
intuitive option, since I don't want a table, I only want a chart, but this is
a good workaround.

> First you need to change the X-axis format. In the Numbers tab, uncheck
> "Source format", then you can change the category from Date to Number (for
> example).

Yes, this is true, but this doesn't fix the issue: the row number is now
displayed as a number instead of a date, but it still is not possible to enter
a x-value.

Take a look at the column labels in my 2 screenshots: one has a "Data Labels",
"X-Values", "Y-Values"x2; and the other has "Data Labels", "Y-Values"x2.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 115786] Unable to open styles window when sidebar is undocked

2018-10-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=115786

Bug is still here in 6.0.6.2 (x64). Win 10 home.

Method to reproduce:
Open LibreOffice
Open sidebar deck
Undock sidebar
close resulting floating window
Press F11
Result: floating window (which is, apparently, the Styles dialog) appears
for less than a second and then disappears.
Selecting View -> Sidebar produces the same result.

Method to restore:
Select View -> Gallery
Result: floating sidebar deck reappears with focus in Gallery
Redock sidebar
Press F11
Result: Styles portion of sidebar deck reappears as before

Lesson: Don't try to over-customize this software ... you'll never get any work
done.

You have mixed direct formatting and styles (both paragraph and character).

Functions as expected if you use default styles (paragraph and character) and
then apply direct formatting (bold or All Caps). Alternatively, a mix of
paragraph and character styles can provide the same effect--but the XML will be
markedly different.

Open the ODT zip archive and review the Styles.xml and Content.xml

** Please read this message in its entirety before responding **

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Regular Text (Capitalized) does not Bold

To see the issue simply highlight the capitalized text with the regular font
style. You should see the Bold icon turn blue in color making it impossible to
bold the text.

Bug ID: 120579
Summary: LibreOffice Writer Bold icon (Ctrl+B) not bolding
text. Bold Icon shows text as bolded when highlighted
but text is not bolded.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.1.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: bnpwal...@gmail.com

Description:
Using LibreOffice Writer 6.1.1.2 (x64) version. When

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Hightlight text and capitalize with Capitalize Icon
2.Highlight text and Bold with Bold Icon
3.

Actual Results:
Sometimes the text does not bold as expected.
When I highlight text that is capitalized but not bolded the Bold Icon shows
green color indicating that the text is bold, however, the text is not bold.
To check I've zoomed into the text and it clearly is not bolded. Repeated
selection of Bold Icon or using Ctrl+B does not have any effect on bolding the
text.

Expected Results:
Expected Results: 1. Selecting the Bold icon, Ctrl+B, or pull down Format/A
text/Bold would change highlighted text from regular style font to Bold style
font.
2. Highlighting "regular style font" (Capitalized text) would not show the text
as being Bold on the Bold Icon (blue color) or when right-clicking the text and
selecting Character/Font from the context menu.

Reproducible: Sometimes

2018-10-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=120575

Bug ID: 120575
Summary: With LibreOffice Calc, the 'Find All' button sometimes
fails.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.3.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: id...@yahoo.com

Description:
I am using LibreOffice Calc Version 6.0.3.2 (x64) on Windows 7 Home Premium
Service Pack 1. When the width is expanded so that I can see 'Find All', it
performs as expected. When the width is reduced so that I am unable to view
'Find All', I must use the double arrows on the right to click on 'Find All'.
When that occurs, a 'Search Results' windows pops up but it fails to locate
existing text.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Add some text to LibreOffice Calc.
2. Enter some or all of text in the 'Find' textbox.
3. Reduce the width of LibreOffice Calc do that the 'Find All' button is
hidden.
4. Click on the arrows to the right and then click on the 'Find All' button.

Actual Results:
Either the 'Search Results' window will be empty or no 'Search Results' will
appear.

Expected Results:
The 'Sear Results' should be shown and the correct results.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
[Information automatically included from LibreOffice]
Locale: en-US
Module: SpreadsheetDocument
[Information guessed from browser]
OS: Windows (All)
OS is 64bit: yes

The passed integer is the modifier key that is pressed while clicking the
toolbar button. i.e. try to hold CTRL or SHIFT while clicking the button, and
you'll get values different than 0. That's a feature of the toolbar, and it
works as designed. (As an example, we use that for the shapes buttons (e.g.
rectangle). If you hold CTRL while clicking such button, it will just insert
that shape w/o the need of drawing it.)

Extended tips are not only missing in the customize dialog but in general. Use
tool "What's this?" from the help menu and hover over some icons. You should
see a more detailed description instead of the simple term.

I change the summary accordingly.

I have not set this to duplicate of bug 118148, because there only one solution
is described. But especially for the version 6.1, we can think of providing the
old kind of help for download until a new way to get the extended tips is
really ready.

Created attachment 145689
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=145689=edit
The attachment announced in Comment #2

The issue was not with specific macros but with the passing of a (useless; no
information) parameter when a macro was called from a click on a sensitive area
in a ToolBar where it was inserted via Customize.

When one of the macros was assigned to a shortcut key the issue did not show.

Background: I once had a Basic Sub that I wanted to call sometimes clicking on
a ControlButton, sometimes from a ToolBar icon. The body should distinguish the
cases based on testing an optional pEvent parameter with the IsMissing()
function. Depending on the result different ptreparing commands should be
executed. This failed because the ToolBar case passed an unexpected parameter
of type Integer and value 0. No usable information, workaround annoying.

I attach a simple example document containing detailed information how to
reproduce the issue. Of course I do not expect anybody to assign document
macros to his ToolBars in real life.

When a plain text file is opened (no matter if "Text" or "Text - choose
encoding" was used), the filter settings (charset, Line End, is BOM present:
see SwAsciiOptions) are forgot, and last used for export are shown if "Edit
filter settings" is requested. In case, say, I open a UTF-8 with BOM, I'll get
a Windows-1251 Cyrillic file upon save.

The settings should persist with the open file, to not require user to re-enter
them on save (a user might have no idea what they were if auto-detection was
used).

This chart is only an example. The easiest way to create a chart in Writer is
to create a table with your data, select this table and click the icon. That
gives you the chart wizard.

You can create a XY chart from the default chart but it is not straightforward
because this default chart is not designed as XY chart. First you need to
change the X-axis format. In the Numbers tab, uncheck "Source format", then you
can change the category from Date to Number (for example). Then you can change
the chart type to XY and you see numbers on the x-axis instead of dates.
Next steps are: edit the data table, remove all data, add series, type values,
etc.

Does that work for you ?

Status set to NEEDINFO, please set it back to UNCONFIRMED once requested
informations are provided.

Best regards. JBF

A code pointer: SwASCIIParser::ReadChars() in sw/source/filter/ascii/parasc.cxx
does the autodetection of the encoding (of a 4 KiB buffer) using
SwIoSystem::IsDetectableText. The latter only checks for BOM. I suppose we
should not change that, but change the following processing (in case when
currentCharSet == RTL_TEXTENCODING_DONTKNOW).

In that case, we should possibly try treating the file as UTF-8, with options
that strictly detect invalid sequences, and in case of failure, restart with
RTL_TEXTENCODING_ASCII_US (or maybe user/working locale?).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 120353] Base optional fields now seem to be mandatory

2018-10-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=120353

--- Comment #14 from t...@tim-passingham.co.uk ---
So I, and presumably large numbers of other people, will have to check every
single field, on every single form and subform because a very long-standing bug
has been fixed that we didn't know about?

Gulp. That's going to be a heck of a lot of work. I've many tens of forms and
many tens of subforms in my 2 main applications that used to work, mainly based
on database optional/mandatory settings and sometimes database default values
(so a form field can be omitted but a default set from the database).

Are you all quite sure that this is what is required by everyone?

It's also a bit strange to me that the behaviour I saw was:

6.1.2 insisted fields be filled in due to "Error writing data to database"

6.1.3.0 of 5/10/18 then worked OK for me

6.1.3.0 of 8/10/18 and subsequent versions insist that fields that are optional
in the database be filled in and still claim that there is an "Error writing
data to database", not that a field on the form has 'input required', which is
not the same thing at all.

I have to say I'd expect the mandatory/optional status of a database field
would override anything set on the form, or at least be given the option to
allow this.

protectSection.odt: the LO way of protecting - half works in DOCX and doesn't

Personally, if I do decide to work on this, I would start by making sure that
this ODT file exports/imports well with doc/docx.

Currently, it exports OK to both doc and docx (except that it doesn't export
the password). Word 2016 can edit the unprotected section, honours the
protected area, but unprotects without a password.

LO currently imports the resulting .doc file very poorly - no protection at
all. Importing the resulting .docx file protects everything, not just the
section.

Description:
When OpenGl is activated in a sheet document with text rotated by 90° this text
is not alwys displayed correctly, when the display changes, e.g. when zoom
factor is changed or when a filter is set or deleted or when display is changed
between normal window and full screen.

The error occurs more or less randomly, i.e. e.g. at a certain zoom factor the
text may be displayed correctly or not.

1. Open the sheet document "Alte Fotoapparate_Test_klein_3.ods" (will be added)
2. Change the zoom factor (zoom in and out) and/or switch between normal window
and full screen and/or set a filter an/or change it and/or select all
3. Look if display of the rotated text in the header lines changes

Actual Results:
When the display is changed (zoom factor, window size, selected cells) the
rotated text may be displayed correctly but occasionally resp. often it is
displayed not correctly, i.e. not all is displaed or nothing or only "dots".
Screenshots will be added.

Expected Results:
The rotated text is always displayed correctly.

Reproducible: Sometimes

User Profile Reset: No

OpenGL enabled: Yes

Additional Info:
The behavier could not be reproduced with LO 6.0 and LO 6.1 until 6.1.2.1.
First I have seen it in LO 6.1.3.1., but it can be reproduced also with earlier
builds of LODev 6.1.3 from 10/2018 and LODev 6.1.4 and LODev. 6.2.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 120570] New: “Description” of Commands is not Available in Customize Dialogue

2018-10-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=120570

Bug ID: 120570
Summary: “Description” of Commands is not Available in
Customize Dialogue
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.2.1 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: UI
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: harald.koes...@mail.de

In order to reproduce the bug:

[1] Ensure that the local help is installed.
[2] Start LibreOffice.
[3] Open Customize Dialogue: Tools > Customize…
[4] Select tab Menus, Toolbars or Context Menus. The field Description is
empty. Expected: Description of highlighted function.
[5] Move mouse pointer above field Description. The tip “Local help is not
installed.” is displayed. This message is not true. The help is installed.

With version 6.0.6 the descriptions are displayed correctly. So this bug is a
regression. It seemed to me that the descriptions are lost with the
introduction of the new local help in version 6.1.0. Generally to my opinion
the descriptions should be displayed independently from the installed local
help.

By the way, as far as I know a local help for MAC OS does not exist. It this is
correct, do Mac users ever get command descriptions in their Customize
dialogue?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 120499] Can't use password when (un)restricting DOC(X) forms

2018-10-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=120499

DOCX: only round-trips these settings, but doesn't use them other than to turn
on PROTECT_FORM. (look for XML_documentProtection in docxexport.cxx and
GetDocumentProtectionSettings() in writerfilter).

I like being able to bypass these passwords in LO, and the way to disable
protection is buried pretty deep, so it hardly seems necessary.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 120353] Base optional fields now seem to be mandatory

2018-10-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=120353

--- Comment #13 from rob...@familiegrosskopf.de ---
(In reply to Julien Nabet from comment #11)
> Alex/Robert: do you reproduce this one too or got some idea here?

Have tested it with
Version: 6.1.3.1
Build-ID: a9670562c26181ec3afbe381c9ff499ae88c98b7
CPU-Threads: 6; BS: Linux 4.12; UI-Render: Standard; VCL: kde4;
Gebietsschema: de-DE (de_DE.UTF-8); Calc: group threaded

Works as expected.

Note 1: Both fields in the form are set to "Input required" = 'yes'.
If you set
Properties > Data > Input required > No
there won't appear an error.

Note 2: If you create fields in a form the default-value for "Input required"
is 'yes'. Many users would be irritated. They haven't used this function
(because it doesen't work the right way). Now it works and the input is
required on every field, because the default is set for this.

With OpenSUSE 15 and LO 6.1.3.1 this bug seems to be resolved.

On pc Debian x86-64 with master sources updated today, I tried to reproduce
this.

I had this during Firebird migration:
Error code: 1

firebird_sdbc error:
*unsuccessful metadata update
*ALTER TABLE Iglesias failed
*Unknown columns in index SYS_FK_78
caused by
'ALTER TABLE "Iglesias" ADD CONSTRAINT SYS_FK_78 FOREIGN
KEY("Denominaci\u00f3n") REFERENCES "Denominaciones"("ID")'

Then indeed I could reproduce the pb by trying "Iglesias_Coruña_Prov" query.

The bugdoc attachment 51048 does not play a sound in the slideshow nor when I
edit the custom animation->Options->Preview Sound

If I create a new slideshow, insert shape, and add a custom animation with a
sound. The sound does play in the Options->Preview Sound. If I preview the
animation or start the slideshow, the sound does not play.

Created Bug 120569 to handle Comment 31, sound resource not found which affect

working.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 120569] New: Impress Sound Effects created on Linux will not play on Windows and vice versa

2018-10-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=120569

Bug ID: 120569
Summary: Impress Sound Effects created on Linux will not play
on Windows and vice versa
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: lukebe...@hotmail.com

This is a spin off of Bug 40780. If you create an impress presentation with
animation sound effects in Windows those sound effect will not play in Linux
and vice versa.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. In Windows create a new Impress presentation
2. Insert a shape
3. Add a Custom Animation
4. Add a sound effect Animation Options -> Enhancement -> Sound
5. Preview the sound to verify it works
6. Save
7. Copy the presentation to Linux
8. Open
9. Animation Options -> Enhancement -> Sound
10. Preview the sound effect

Expected Results:
Sound effect will play

Actual Results
No sound will play in Linux with Windows file or play in Windows with a Linux
created file.

Note: In Linux, neither the animation preview nor the actual slideshow will
play the sound. This is covered in Bug 40780.

bug 40780, comment 31 discusses how the sound file name may be incorrectly
saved.

They are the same, but this has more substantive dev analysis of the issue(s),
a bit of QA cleanup to dupe the older 36976 and friends to here... or not?

I've just downloaded the latest overnight 6.1.4 build as below. The issue is
still present. It was fixed in 6.1.3 as of 5th October, the the fix
disappeared.

Version: 6.1.4.0.0+
Build ID: 7ea7b86e7731f8cc1366ea632653fecc97267378
CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 4.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk2;
TinderBox: Linux-rpm_deb-x86_64@70-TDF, Branch:libreoffice-6-1, Time:
2018-10-13_04:47:20
Locale: en-GB (en_GB.UTF-8); Calc: group threaded

It may be quite while before I can run a 6.2 as my normal version.

@Stephen: thanks for checking.

@Björn: it is possible, that LibreOffice 6.0.6 of Ubuntu 18.04 crashes (on
Ubuntu 18.04), but the the same release from TDF is stable (on Ubuntu 16.04)?
