(In reply to Lior Kaplan from comment #3)
> Just notice that tdf#106174 has 3 commits. One of them done to both 6.1 &
> 6.2 branches and the rest to 6.2 only.
The one backported to 6.1 was just related to the proposed fix.

Round-tripping this file in .doc was already broken in a similar (the same?)
way, but it seems fine as .docx. In master, if I load the .doc, fix it up, and
then round-trip it, it works fine too.

The problem is the use of sprmPJc80 - which ignore RTL status. So somehow I
need a flag to indicate that a Jc80 should not be adjusted.

re:

"Dear Bug Submitter,

6 months. Please provide the requested information as soon as
possible and mark the bug as UNCONFIRMED. ..."

Base reports is so full of bugs and lacks so many needed features, that I don't
even use it anymore. Instead I've switched to using JasperReports.

HOWEVER, I do hope in the future to be able to work on it and am slowly
learning the stuff I need to be able to do that.

As far as I can tell there is no one, or almost no one, working on base. So
the bugs just hang there for years!

So I would say lighten up. It's so easy for you to just say that nothing is
happening.

I think better to just leave these bug reports in place for now, and for years
if necessary, until someone has the time and skills to work on this.

Mahalo.

That's right. I see the same. My previous picture in LO was done after I
unckecked Edit\Track Changes\Show. Just tried to show final look. The point is
that in final edition third cell in "8." row should had be empty. And LO shows
those names, which is the fragment I mentioned. It should be invisible in the
final edition view.

6 months. Please provide the requested information as soon as
possible and mark the bug as UNCONFIRMED. Due to regular bug
tracker maintenance, if the bug is still in NEEDINFO status with
no change in 30 days the QA team will close the bug as INSUFFICIENTDATA
due to lack of needed information. ..."

>From what I can see there are bugs that can take many, many years to
characterize and finally fix.

I for one am trying to learn enough about C++ to try and fix some of these
myself, but it's a slow rocky road getting up to speed.

For now I'd say lighten up a little.

I think you should just let these bugs hang there for years until someone has
time to resolve them.

But that's just my 2c. I don't really know all what everyone is dealing with
here.

Looks like the problem is with
  else if ( false && m_bFillSpecified && m_bAutoFillColor )
pPropertyMap->Insert(PROP_FILL_STYLE,
uno::makeAny(drawing::FillStyle_NONE));

So, likely the export code for these formats is not looking at FillStyle_NONE,
and just using the fill color anyway. Exposed existing problem.

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=34016

may be it's already WONTFIX? Because in ReleaseNotes 6.2 someone wrote "The
KDE4 VCL backend is deprecated and will be removed in the next version."

Would be also my expectation. The linked documents could combine in the master
and TC should work as it was one file. There might be the idea to have
different TC comment colors per document but color is reserved to the authors.

Would understand the issue as a bug not an enhancement that needs UX.

Indeed, I missed that

> I'm wondering if this is the expected behaviour as LibreOffice takes the
> format from the current position when we click on the document...

Possibly. The core problem is the focus issue (at least how I see it). When
clicking an item (say bold) inside a the floating sidebar, the main window
loses focus (gray). I'm always click inside the document to recover the focus.
Which disables BOLD.

The current way to recover the focus properly
1. Press CTRL+F6 (see bug 120231 comment 1)
2. Click Main window gray bar (to grab focus)

Both options are not obvious in IMHO. I prefer the behavior of the floating
"Font color" or the Font work toolbar

Makes sense to have a bluish persona for Writer and some greenish for Calc etc.
But most themes will be generic and the feature should not add additional
effort/data. So ideally we have header* (general) and/or header_writer*
(specific, overrides generic) options.
