[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 121978] New: Problem with new function SECOND

2018-12-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=121978

Bug ID: 121978
Summary: Problem with new function SECOND
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.6.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: gmoll...@us.es

When fixing the 118800 bug
(https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118800), the developers
changed the SECOND function to not round. All right.

But now, by subtracting two dates with hours, the result is a little less than
the correct one and as a consequence the SECOND function fails to give the
second of the correct difference.

Now if you write in Calc:

A2: 00:03:09
A3: 2018-10-22 11:31:44
A4: 2018-10-22 11:34:53
A5: =A4-A3 --> result 00:03:09
A6: =SECOND(A5) --> result in Calc 6.1.3.2 is 8, BAD. In Calc 6.0.6.2 and Excel
2016 is 9 (RIGHT).

The internal number in A2 is 0,0021875 that is 60*3 minutes + 9 seconds * 1/(24
hours*60 minutes*60 seconds) and in A5 is 0,00218745. Now SECOND function
not round.

8 seconds, 99 hundredths is still the second 8 as the year of 12/31/2018 is
2018 and not 2019. You can wait 2018 if you write =YEAR("12/31/2018") and 8 if
you write =SECOND("00:00:08,99"). In 6.0.6.2 and Excel 2016 this function
results 9 and in Calc 6.1.3.2 the result is 8.

The problem is if you subtract two dates and the result goes wrong narrowly.
Before nothing happened and now offers a second less than it should.

(In reply to Ivan Williams from comment #5)

So we need something to reproduce wrong behavior. Specific steps ("1. do this;
2. click that; 3. select that... N. the color is wrong"). Without that, it's
*impossible* to work on something.

In response to comment #24, making these changes is not a work-around for me. I
still can not edit files on my Samba share. I have tried setting both of them,
Tools > Options > Advanced > Expert configuration >
'UseDocumentSystemFileLocking'
 and
  'UseLocking' keys
to 'false'

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

2018-12-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon

** Please read this message in its entirety before responding **

4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team

2018-12-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 121975
Summary: kde5: Impress shows "debug informatin" on presentation
screen as well
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.3.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: m.wegh...@posteo.de

Created attachment 147371
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=147371=edit
Screenshot of both screens

This is specific to the kde5 VCL plugin. It works as expected when using e.g.
the gtk3 VCL plugin instead.

Version: 6.3.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: cb52b112c0d44d7a6849f773fd1ee4e863ab91da
CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 4.18; UI render: default; VCL: kde5;
Locale: en-GB (en_GB.UTF-8); UI-Language: en-US
Calc: threaded

Steps to reproduce:

0) have a dual screen setup
1) open an Impress presentation or create a new one
2) start presentation mode (F5)
3) click to actually start presentation (due to bug 119718)
4) have a look at output on both screens

Result: Both screens show "debug" information like "fps", "Sprites" and "Mem"
(though they have different data...), s. attached screenshot

Expected result: These data should only be shown on the screen showing the
presenter console, not on the actual presentation screen that the potential
audience can see.

I have a book from about 4 updates ago. Starting to work on the file which
contains many Bible verses. These verse references are in the format of
BOOK CHAPTER : VERSE. After updating to the current version, all the index
entries have been changed so that everything to the right of the colon is Index
Level 1. The colon has been deleted. Everything to the left of the colon is
now Index Level 2.
Any idea of why?

Steps to reproduce:

1) Start Writer
2) click the top-level item in the (collapsed) sidebar (labelled "Sidebar" as
well)

Result: Some checkboxes appear at the very right-hand side of the screen, but
no proper texts/labels are shown

Expected result: The checkbox labels ("Properties", "Page", "Styles",
"Gallery", "Navigator") and the texts for "Undock", "Close Sidebar", and
"Customization" are displayed as well.

It makes no sense to adopt based selection--that is simply not the
legacy we have inherited

Otherwise--how is this a "bug", it functions as implemented? Confirmed NEW in
error... to UX-Advise

The Draw objects manipulated on Impress or Draw slide/page are different than
controls provided to manipulate Draw objects on Writer canvas or in Calc cells.

There is no magic wand to wave making + selection function like it does
in other applications--it all would have to be developed. IIRC it is down in
the guts of VCL and the various edit shells. A whole lot of work to break
legacy behavior that is not wrong.

I'm not convinced this merits the effort.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 121970] New: kde5: Customizing menu breaks it

2018-12-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=121970

Bug ID: 121970
Summary: kde5: Customizing menu breaks it
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.3.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: UI
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: m.wegh...@posteo.de

This is specific to the kde5 VCL plugin. It works as expected when using e.g.
the gtk3 VCL plugin instead.

Version: 6.3.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: cb52b112c0d44d7a6849f773fd1ee4e863ab91da
CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 4.18; UI render: default; VCL: kde5;
Locale: en-GB (en_GB.UTF-8); UI-Language: en-US
Calc: threaded

Steps to reproduce:

1) open LibreOffice Writer
2) "Tools" -> "Customize"
3) in the "Menus" tab, add a menu entry by moving a function to an existing
target (e.g. just move the "100%" function to the "File" target)
4) click "OK" button to confirm

Result:

* The top-level menu entries are no longer labelled correctly (e.g. "~File" is
shown instead of "File", "~Edit" instead of "Edit").
* clicking on any of the menu entries has no effect.

Expected result:
* Menus should continue to work properly.
* The new menu entry (e.g. "100%" in the "File" menu) should be there.

Note: Everything is as expected again after restarting LibreOffice.

Also, behavior of native ODF Text .ODT file can differ markedly from OOXML Word
.DOCX file. Taking an OOXML file "round trip", i.e. filter export -> filter
import can have unexpected results. Best to stay with "native" ODF formats.

Please indicate if this loss of highlighting/background fill is with a .DOCX
document?

Could you provide a screenshot about a full-screen app which seems to have
better appearance? I don't think so it's a LibreOffice issue.

According to your screenshot you're using Gnome desktop environment. Unity
desktop environment has had the given feature.

No, bug 75644 remains open.

See the comment(s) in that issue, but basically each module will reopen to
geometry of the last launch of the module. But if opened from the Start Center
panel--will open picking up that geometry.

The remaining work needed is to isolate the Start Center module from corrupting
geometry of the other modules that have a configuration recorded to profile.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 121959] Crash if I try to format a cell "Zellen formatieren" Strg+1

2018-12-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=121959

I followed your advice and installed a master build:

Version: 6.3.0.0.alpha0+ (x64)
Build ID: beae6c7a7f163daad0d4dea63a3d403af2745fd1
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 6.1; UI render: default; VCL: win;
TinderBox: Win-x86_64@42, Branch:master, Time: 2018-12-07_01:25:50
Locale: de-DE (de_DE); UI-Language: en-US
Calc: CL

Now LibreOffice works fine and does not crash, when I use Strg+1 or right klick
and "Format Cells".

What shall I do? Shall I continue with Version 6.3.0.0.alpha0+ (x64)? At the
moment there ist no German dictionary and language pack installed. Where do I
get all modules to change it to a completly german version?

Thank you very much

Using Ubuntu 18.04 and LO6.2Beta1 (30-11-18) and 6.3Alpha0 (01-12-18) (en local
and en language) I am unable to reproduce a crash if I do not touch the more
button on the error dialog.

Using the string in your example for both field and table names, the error
dialog is appropriate, and clearing the dialog, without hitting more, then
discarding the change or shortening the strings the application continues
unfazed.

I believe this is a duplicate of an open error that has to do with the 'More'
feature on the error dialog proper, not the SQL error handling per se.

I won't set it to that just yet though - if you crash on your system without
clicking the More button that is different.
