confirmed that comment 6 has identified the correct commit. The code is now
found in sw/source/core/doc/DocumentFieldsManager.cxx
DocumentFieldsManager::UpdateExpFieldsImpl().

confirmed that without that fix, Writer still crashes if every part of the
document belongs to hidden sections. The trick here will be to find out if any
of the document is NOT covered by sections (which would be the normal case) and
then allow all the sections to be hidden.

** Please read this message in its entirety before responding **

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,

Bug ID: 122622
Summary: Modified curved connectors revert to default shape

   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.4.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: patrick.ta...@gmail.com

Description:
Curved connectors that are modified (e.g., stretched in one direction or the
other for better appearance) in a slide lose the modification in the copy when
a slide is duplicated. The duplicate slide contains the curved connector, but
the modifications are lost and revert to the default connector layout.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create two boxes, then connect them with a curved connector.
2. Grab the mid-point box on the curved connector and drag it to shift the
layout in some direction, release to see modified connector.
3. In the 'Slides' pane, right click the slide and select 'Duplicate Slide'.

Actual Results:
Curved connector in duplicated slide does not align with the curved connector
in the original slide.

Expected Results:
Alignment / layout should be preserved upon duplication

I can reproduce it in gen and gtk2. No need to decline the licence, The
extension manager is no longer functional if the extension is successfully
installed.

I do confirm the issue was introduced by

Surprisingly, I don't reproduce it in

Yes, the Calc sheet reference syntax is different (eg. Sheet2.A1), but I could
create a similar sample in Calc with Calc's native syntax, and import/export is
expected to take care of translating the references.

In fact, saving this sample in XLSX format in Calc generates a file that can be
opened fine both in Calc and Excel.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 122619] New: Remove AppMenu export via DBus

2019-01-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=122619

Bug ID: 122619
Summary: Remove AppMenu export via DBus
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.3.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: trivial
  Priority: medium
 Component: graphics stack
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: bjoern.michael...@libreoffice.org

Description:
LibreOffice tries to export its menues via dbus. This is obsolete as unity and
its HUD is discontinued, and on modern Ubuntu (18.04 LTS), when starting
LibreOffice and running:

 dbus-monitor |grep canonical

shows (among other things):

string "Could not get owner of name 'com.canonical.AppMenu.Registrar': no such
name"

As such this can be removed from the source. A starting point is the define:

 ENABLE_GMENU_INTEGRATION

which can be removed (its not set anymore anyway, it seems). That code enabled
unity menu integration in gtk2.

In gtk3, menu export is enabled by default, but unlikely has any effect as even
on Ubuntu, com.canonical.AppMenu.Registrar is not claimed anymore.

As such the functions found with:

 git grep com.canonical.AppMenu.Registrar

can be removed. While doing this, it should be taken care to also remove all --
now dead -- dependent code.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start LibreOffice on latest Ubuntu 18.04

Actual Results:
DBus Menu export isnt used.

Expected Results:
If DBus Menu export is not used even on Ubuntu, it should be removed from the
code.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 122457] Worse text rendering in newer versions of LibreOffice

2019-01-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=122457

The screen rendering went off a cliff, on Windows at least, with LO v5.3.
This is when the rendering engine was changed.

On Windows this caused the aliasing to go from the full-color Cleartype
aliasing to some kind of lesser grayscale-only aliasing.

So on Windows the move to Harfbuzz (BarfHuzz) was a step backwards.

Below I have attached zoomed-in screenshots of your small images.

In the first one from LO v5.1 you can see the colors in the aliasing.

In the second one from LO v6.1 you can see only grayscale.

There was also apparently some change in how the vertical metrics are rendered.
This is why you see changes in the line heights.

You will also see at smaller sizes the characters appear to jump around and
have big gaps between them due to changes in how the hinting is handled.

None of this is documented anywhere that I have found.
You can only discover bits and pieces of what is happening by reviewing
multiple bug reports.
I think some people just don't want to talk about it.

>From what I have seen there currently are no plans to fix this.
The LO fonts rendering "guru" appears to have abandoned the ship when it sank.

Yes. The common contents can (optionally) stay in a separate file (wrapped in a
) and later 'ed in the specific (Calc/Impress/Writer)
classification help files.

If the contents is a user guide with instructions and steps to follow, then it
should go to the /guide/ section of each module. If the contents gives details
(references) of the classification commands and terminology, then think on
placing it in folder /01/ of each module.

For example

scalc/01/classification-spreadsheet.xhp

swriter/01/classification-text.xhp

simpress/01/classification-presentation.xhp

shared/01/classification-common.xhp

so we may have 1 common, 3 references + 3 guides...

Another approach, much less trivial is to use and
have one file with all module switched, although I think it will be dense to
maintain contents.

The formula doesn't work in ODS, I think to remember there are limitations to
use CF between sheets.

LibreOffice saves and reopen with the formula in xlsx and ods.

Maybe the issue to import is in relation about the excel syntax in CF.

Both attachment 147988 and attachment 147989 are buggy. I'm getting the result
shown in attachment 133697 in Evince, and a similar result on Adobe Acrobat
Reader for iOS. So it's not true that the Windows version of LibreOffice isn't
affected.

I cannot try this out on Acrbat Reader for Linux because this product isn't
being offered by Adobe anymore, and the old versions of that viewer that can
still be found on the Internet are almost completely broken by now.

I've had a friend open the PDF from attachment 133695 in the full version of
Adobe Acrobat on Windows and save it again though, and the result is a PDF that
works in Evince as well as Adobe Acrobat Reader for iOS. It's absolutely clear
that the bug is in the PDF generated be LibreOffice.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 122615] New: Envelope address does not go down enough

2019-01-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=122615

Bug ID: 122615
Summary: Envelope address does not go down enough
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.0.2 rc
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Printing and PDF export
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: n...@comcast.net

Description:
I am using a HP Laserjet M227 to print small envelopes (6.25") I place the
envelope in the printer facing upwards and the flap on the right. I format the
envelope's sender (me) and it is fine, but the adressee does not come down
enough. I have it set maximum at 2.30 from the left (fine) and 2.84 from the
top (does not go further.) Can you program the parameters to increase the
downwards limit?

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Put in envelope
2.Format envelope
3.Print envelope

Actual Results:
I have a pdf that shows the addressee is too high on the envelope. This is an
easy fix. If you give me an e-mail address, I can send it to you.

Expected Results:
Addressee should be lower on the envelope

Reproducible: Always

2019-01-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=122613

Bug ID: 122613
Summary: HTML Filter does not resolve CSS for divs
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.3.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Mac OS X (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: jens.troe...@light-speed.de

Hello,

See also this thread and the dev mailing list:
http://document-foundation-mail-archive.969070.n3.nabble.com/HTML-import-filter-very-too-basic-td4255790.html

I think that the attached image says it all (LibreOffice 6.1.3.2). It looks
like the HTML import is really very simple, and does not apply CSS to the
content of div or span elements. In the example/test file there are a few
paragraphs nested inside of a div and inherit the color of the div while
overriding the font. Also, the initial paragraph starts with a span to
italicize text.

HTML & CSS are really quite simple, but I didn’t attach the font file because
I’m not sure regarding copyright. Reproduce as follows:

 – Create test folder;
 – Copy attached HTML & CSS files;
 — Copy three random font files, ideally ones that are _not_ in the system
path;
 — Modify the CSS to use the local fonts;
 — `cd` into the folder and open LO.

There’s one more aspect for which I ought to file a separate bug: LO doesn’t
seem to load a font from a local path relative to the CSS file? To reproduce:

 – As above, but `cd` someplace else;
 – Open HTML in LO by passing a path to the HTML file.

Cheers,
Jens

And this is when I killed loolwsd.service, because one new line taking 10% RAM
appeared each second. This is already _way_ more than 30% RAM.

When I don’t kill loolwsd, _it_ kills my server :-/

This bug was reported over 5 years ago and has been ignored ever sense. It
shows that the Linux developers do not respond to bug reports.

I am running Ubuntu MATE 18.10 on an AMD 64-bit machine. My printer is an HP
OfficeJet Pro 7740.

Please examine the code in any other application (Chrome, Fire Fox, Avril, Eye
of MATE, etc.) and use it to fix LO. They all work! LO does not (even after 5
years of bug reports and complaints.)

Timur: I get your intention, but this is not how we work. We have discussed
this topic ("needsTriage") for hours on various occasions and I believe you
were present in the Brno meeting in 2016 where it was first brought up. In the
last QA meeting we *again* decided to not change anything:
https://dev-downloads.libreoffice.org/meetbot/libreoffice-qa/2018/libreoffice-qa.2018-11-28-15.01.log.html

I said: "if we decide not to add anything, we can add some clear guidelines in
the wiki on what to search for, if concerned about these matters"

Xisco agreed and added the wiki task to his todo.

A bit convoluted but currently the File -> New -> Master Document will let you
insert and bring in multiple documents. Then save Contents. Finally File ->
Export: "ODF Text document"

You can then Save As flat ODF, and from there remove the file linkages with a
text editor.

But, would be cleaner if the Insert dialog handling and filter did facilitate
multiple source texts for the simple Insert -> Text from File

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 122545] FILEOPEN: Error on creating script provider for Python script from location=document

2019-01-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=122545

Good catch! With the "Recalculate on File Load | ODF spreadsheet" option set to
"Never recalculate" the test document works fine with the older versions
5.4.7.2, 6.0.7.3 and 6.1.3.2. Changing this option to "Always recalculate"
triggers the error message (Error creating provider from factory!) at opening
of the test file on all these versions. All the tests were done with Linux
AppImages.

Thus, I think the recalculation of the cells will be done too early before the
Python scripts from loaction=document were available.

But at testing I have also found another problem. If the "Always recalculate"
option is set in version 6.1.4.2 then at opening the test file the error
message dialog appears twice. I think in this case the recalculation will be
done twice, once through the "Always recalculate" option and once for
determining the optimal cell heights. This assumption can be verified by
changing the height for cell "B3" in the test file from optimal to a fixed
height. In that case at opening the test file the error message appears only
once with "Always recalculate" option, and no error message is shown with
"Never recalculate".

Independent of this bug, a recalculation of the cells shouldn't happen twice
when a document is opened. Maybe another bug report should be opened for this.

Created attachment 148180
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=148180=edit
Example of ANOVA calculation problem

This is an example sheet illustrating the problem. Data is in Sheet1.b1:d30

ANOVA (single factor) was performed with Sheet1.G2 as the output start cell:
the generated formula for total variation in Sheet1.H13 is incorrect, producing
Err:508 - it should simply be SUM(Sheet1.H11:H12)

ANOVA (single factor) was performed again with Sheet2.B1 as the output start
cell. Cells C11 and C12 on Sheet2 (highlighted in yellow) contain incorrect
formulae, as specified above and in the original comment. This echoes through
to dependent cells.

ANOVA was also performed on a two factor basis with Sheet2.B19 as the
destination. This appears to work correctly.
