Ok, some progress! I was able to isolate the conditions to make the bug happen
down to having the "gsconnect" gnome shell extension installed to monitor my
Android phone. Yea, what the heck does that have to do with Libre Office?!?

Anyway, I will attach a script ("setup.sh") which, when executed, will slam the
relevant files into the current user's configuration.

(The script unpacks an archive into
.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions/gsconn...@andyholmes.github.io and stores
minimal dconf settings for it).

IMPORTANT: Don't run this script as a normal user; instead, create a test user
and login as that test user first. I used a Virtual Machine to prevent any
possible contamination of my real system.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

1. Log into a VM after making a checkpoint, or alternatively create a test user
e.g.
  sudo newuser testuser

2019-07-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=76806

Dear bargainsgalore622,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118370] place text when importing from PDF in one text box instead many text boxes with one string

> IsFontwork() is reporting false for this object, so it is still being

> is broken.

Perhaps:

 && pTextObj->GetMergedItem(XATTR_FORMTXTSTYLE).GetValue() ==
XFormTextStyle::NONE // not fancy text

(and #include )

Consolidation of lists fails. All items go to one paragraph, if the list items
do not end with punctuation. In case of numbering of style "1.", list items are
split after the dot. But I have no idea how to do it better. The user can
repair the lists, because the items are now all inside the same text box. So
that is not an obstacle for me.

Do you will update the help yourself?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 125767] Unable to drag and drop fields when creating a pivot table

2019-07-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=125767

(In reply to Caolán McNamara from comment #13)

>
> Ubuntu 17.04 has gtk3 3.22.11 and the appimage for 6.3.0.1 pivot table dnd
> works for me on a VirtualBox Ubuntu 17.04 install so I still don't have an
> environment which reproduce this

Hi - I'm in a Debian9 (stretch) environment where dpkg -l *gtk* command shows
these three entries for gtk3. (there are entries for gtk2 as well)

libgtk-3-0:amd64 3.22.11-1 - GTK+ graphical user interface library
libgtk-3-bin 3.22.11-1 - programs for GTK+ GUI library
libgtk-3-common 3.22.11-1 - common files for the GTK+ GUI library

Not sure where to go from here other than to confirm Patrick Addy's bug report
that LibreOffice CALC pivot tables have not worked (for me) for several
months/releases.

I have worked around it by using the older version 5.x or now, 6.0.6.2 as
noted in Comment #11. Something in LibreOffice changed that made drag & drop
non-functional. I don't know if it is related to gtk. My linux environment
hasn't changed. The problem surfaced with a LibreOffice update, and I can go
back to an older LibreOffice version to get functional pivot tables.

Lastly, I *do* have ver 6.2.2 of LibreOffice installed from .deb files. Pivot
Tables don't work. I have not un-installed it. I've been experimenting with
the AppImages as noted in Comment #11.

If you have any thoughts on how I might try to force a change in gtk3 or
something else to make drag & drop work with current versions of LibreOffice,
I'm all ears. As are other users of Google Chromebooks that use Linux apps.

One test I could run is try an AppImage that HAS gtk3 within the AppImage. That
might offer insight as to whether gtk3 is the culprit or not.

Description:
This report pertains to
LibreOfficeDev Version: 6.4.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: 4248d759744f83a68d334a8b347124719a2886a8

Calc: threaded
1. Currently the navigator does not have a function to search in its categories
(Headings/Tables/Text frames/Images/OLE
Objects/Bookmarks/Sections/Hyperlinks/References/Indexes/Comments/Drawing
objects) by keyword.
Searching in those categories is interesting for larger documents, where each
category can span much more than can be displayed in the Navigator’s little
window. For some categories the names of their items only have generic names (I
don’t know why in my test document parts of the images are labeled Bild*,
others are labeled Image* where * represents a number and I also see no pattern
how these numbers were associated – possibly the order in which they have
entered the document). Bookmarks and headlines do have entries which are worth
to be searched for.
I would like to have a search function working in all open Navigator-categories
(i.e. in all out of Headings / Tables / Text frames / Images / OLE Objects /
Bookmarks / Sections / Hyperlinks / References / Indexes / Comments / Drawing
objects which have a downward triangle in front of them, but inside of each
opened category with the whole tree below the category opened. The search
function should work like the search field for the document consisting of a
field for the search pattern and an upward plus a downward arrow tool. It
should not pass beyond the end or the beginning of the file.
2. Further I would prefer to be able to correct any typing error (e.g. in a
bookmark) by just correcting it in the navigator. - However, after such a
correction has been done, any uses of that bookmark e.g. in hyperlinks should
be adjusted accordingly.
Currently correcting a bookmark’s name is a tedious work:
a) Go to the bookmark’s place in the text, cutting the bookmark’s shown
text out of the document window.
b) Then go to the Navigator, delete the bookmark with the “Delete” key.
c) Go back to the document window and re-insert the bookmark’s target text
to its old place.
d) Mark it again,
e) Then enter Insert>Insert Bookmark dialog and associate a new bookmark
label with the highlighted portion in the document.
3. The navigator has tools to go to the next or to the previous bookmark.
However the highlight in the bookmarks list does not move accordingly. I
consider this to be an error.
4. Why is there no function to go to the next or previous Table and so on?
5. The same applies to the other categories and their items. If the insertion
mark is on the associated text, the highlighted item in the navigator should
reflect that. If the cursor in the document is on some place, the headline in
the navigator on it or the previous one above it should be highlighted such
that the whole chapter could be promoted or demoted.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Use a big document with many headlines and many bookmarks
2.try to locate one by a keyword
3.click on various items of the displayed categories

Actual Results:
2.that is far from easy lacking a search function.
3.the focus moves to the corresponding item in the document among bookmarks.
4.go up one bookmark
5.Go to any place in the document and select Headlines in the Navigator

Expected Results:
3.is ok.
4.the highlight in the list does not move. The old list item stays highligted.
5.I would expect the headline under which the text is in the document to be
highlighted.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Somewhere I was told that the Navigator is spaghetti code. Nevertheless it
should be made useful in large documents, for which it was originally meant.

Updates are posted as "infrastructure" against build signatures, checked via
simple cURL posted PHP here:

https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/website/tree/check.php?h=update

But, it looks like the 6.3.0.1, 6.3.0.2 rc's have not been added yet, nothing
out of the ordinary...

Otherwise, this remains just an information service--it performs no package
management/downloads.

I have the same problem with libreoffice 6.2.5.2 on openSuSE Leap 15.1.
Not only writer freezes but also the main entry page to libreoffice.

And it is the only tools entry that leads to freeze.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 36535] EDITING: Updating of Frame Style not working correctly, anchoring to character do not updates

2019-07-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=36535

(In reply to Michael Stahl (CIB) from comment #13)
> styles cannot contain anchor positions, and due to the implementation of
> class SwFormatAnchor that means it can't contain the anchor type either.

??
Our "Formula" style is

That has anchor type and position.

You can use your own styles. Write the style with all the needed
graphic-properties into the styles.xml of an document template. You can then
use the styles to change the anchor type and the position by applying the
style, or you can select your style in the insert dialog of an image.

Looking in the tab "Organizer" of the style, you see the anchor-type in the
"contains" section. The info about position is not complete there. In style
"Formula" I see nothing, in my own style or in "Watermark" I see the position
but not the "rel"-value. Nevertheless, assigning a frame style to an image will
adapt anchor type and position.

It is only running LibreOffice, that does not allow to set the anchor type and
position infos of styles. If a style exists, you can use it as expected.

and

Look too similar. Should be some shared base-class or another helper class for
some of what they want to do with progress.

The idle handlers are still there but didn't read them yet.

styles cannot contain anchor positions, and due to the implementation of class
SwFormatAnchor that means it can't contain the anchor type either.

bug 112574 is related, a crash caused by a style containing anchor position.

presumably a similar crash bug was fixed in OOo 3.3.

but maybe it's possible to clear just the anchor position instead of the whole
SwFormatAnchor in styles.

I can still reproduce this. It smells like this was working by accident in the
past. As we end the editeng editing of the (empty) comment, we update the
various toolbars/sidebars and ~5 listboxes are also updated as part of that;
and as a side effect this area was repainted in the past.

I'll try to see how to explicitly invalidate the relevant cell area.

An additional step needs to be added to

before the uglifyjs call).

Max Rows is 2^20 (1,048,576) max Columns is 1024 --> max Cell count 2^30 so
unlikely a 'capacity' issue.

What exactly does "importing documents with large number of rows" mean? What
format, what generator?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 126479] New: Footnote text shaking and text selection failure

2019-07-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126479

Bug ID: 126479
Summary: Footnote text shaking and text selection failure
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: xdvo...@gjk.cz

Description:
Footnote section moves up and down quickly and text selection only moves the
cursor.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a document with multiple images with wrapping turned off. Otherwise
standard text with no strange characters/fonts/anything. Create many footnotes
throughout the text with links. Some footnotes can take up two rows.
2. Click in one footnote
3. Press Enter to create a new line
4. Delete the new line

Actual Results:
Quick movement of footnote section up and down. Attempts to select text only
move the selection character. Restart of program is sometimes necessary for
symptoms to disappear.

Expected Results:
The new line should have disappeared and the program should have otherwise not
done anything of significance.

Reproducible: Always
