[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131471] New: Rendering of background changes due to conditional formatting fails in merged cells across multiple rows in some cases in Calc.
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131471 Bug ID: 131471 Summary: Rendering of background changes due to conditional formatting fails in merged cells across multiple rows in some cases in Calc. Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.4.2.2 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Calc Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: eric.b.pr...@gmail.com Description: With merged cells spanning multiple rows, rendering of conditional formatting when that formatting is a background color and font color change fails in some cases. For instance, if a 3x3 grid of 2x2 merged cells has conditional formatting applied to all cells, the last row of 2x2 cells in the grid will only partially change background when the condition is met. All other merged cells in the grid display their formatting properly. It does not matter how many rows or columns are in the grid. The rendering bug manifests as only one of the rows the 2x2 merged cell changing its background. Sometimes the top row of the multi-row merged cell changes background colors and sometimes it's only the bottom row. I have not yet been able to determine if this is random or if certain things trigger it to change which row is affected. The bug appears to disappear when you save the file or when opening the file. It appears as soon as you trigger a change that causes the condition for the formatting to be evaluated again after opening the file or after saving the file but not closing it. This behavior happens in safe mode and with a fresh user profile. I have tried this under Windows 7 Ultimate and Slackware Linux running KDE. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create a 3x3 grid of merged 2x2 cells. 2. Apply conditional formatting to change the background color and foreground color of the merged cells when a "Formula is" result is true based on an arbitrary calculation and cell value. 3. Watch the fail happen. Actual Results: This is in the Description field. Expected Results: The background color should change completely for every merged cell that meets the condition of the conditional formatting. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes OpenGL enabled: Yes Additional Info: Version: 6.4.2.2 (x64) Build ID: 4e471d8c02c9c90f512f7f9ead8875b57fcb1ec3 CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 6.1 Service Pack 1 Build 7601; UI render: default; VCL: win; Locale: en-US (en_US); UI-Language: en-US Calc: threaded -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 130719] Rename "Load Style..." to "Load Style from Template..."
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=130719 --- Comment #13 from Jamie Dimmel --- I'm sorry, but I fail to see how renaming this function solves either of the two original problems, which were: 1) wanting to return all styles back to their original settings on opening/creating the document; and 2) believing that the LibreOffice provided templates (Default & Modern) contained ALL the styles defined by the program. In fact, this just confuses the issue more, as you can load styles from a document, not just a template. Perhaps the situation would be to 1) add a note or popup when someone chooses to overwrite styles that only the styles in the template will be overwritten and that the template might not contain all defined styles; or 2) add all styles to the LibreOffice provided templates; or 3) provide an option that on choosing to overwrite styles the program default styles are loaded first, then overwritten by the template styles. Any of the above three would have prevented me from filing this bug, but renaming the function would not have, so I really don't think it resolves the underlying issue. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131466] Maybe some document settings aren't saved?
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131466 --- Comment #10 from Bart --- I am using Debian 10/Stretch, 64 bit. I reinstalled it maybe a week ago. Regarding the software catalog, it was updated on 03/21/2020, which is today, but not with the latest version of Open Office? The screen copy that I had uploaded shows the date at the bottom. (That's image: "The version in the Software Catalog".) If you want me to try the latest version of Open Office, then can we call someone to put the latest version on the Software Catalog? (joking) Call me stubborn ;) but I also checked what Microsoft Word does. I rebooted with Windows 10 and I have two updates: - In Word I choose to evenly distribute the text over both columns and I saved the document. Then I rebooted with Linux/Debian and opened the document with Open Office Writer. Then I get the text in the left column only. Nice! (But I still would like to do this in Open Office Writer too. ;) ) - In Word I can only choose a limited number of colors for the highlighted text. Maybe the Word format doesn't allow us to choose more colors for highlighted text? In that case my compliments to the Open Office developers, because they allow me to choose from more colors for highlighted text than Word does. ;) To be complete I added screen copy "MSWordHighlightColors.png". -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Expamle: Cell B4 depends on A1. Cell A1 Cell B4 1 A 13B 27C 65D 77E Normally you would have to do something like this in the formula of cell B4: = IF (A1=1;"A" ; IF (A1=13;"B"; IF (A1=27;"C"; IF (A1=65;"D"; IF (A1=77;"E" ; "" ) That's why I suggest to add a new function "IFVALUE", or "WENNWERT" in the German localization. The usage would be like this: = IFVALUE (referenced cell ; IF-value1;THEN-value1 ; IF-value2;THEN-value2 ; IF-value3;THEN-value3 ; ELSE-value) So the above example could be shortened like this: = IFVALUE (A1 ; 1;"A"; 13;"B"; 27;"C"; 65;"D"; 77;"E"; "") -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

It's more a buggy. :) :) For users however, it's really nice if this can be corrected. I have a document with two columns. On the last page I want the text in the left column only. To do this I had unchecked the box "Evenly distribute contents to all columns" and I get what I want. I had highlighted part of the text with color "Light Yellow 3". (Not using "Yellow" also saves a lot of precious ink. ;) ) (This is image "ColumnsAndHighlight1.png") When I save, close and reopen the document, the text is evenly distributed again and the highlighted text is now "Yellow". (This is image "ColumnsAndHighlight2.png") Steps to Reproduce: 1. I open a document, and I create text in two columns. 2. In one of the columns choose Format -> Columns 3. I uncheck "Evenly distribute contents to all columns" 4. Part of the text has been highlighted with color "Light Yellow 3" 5. I save the document and close it. 6. I reopen the document 7. On the last page the text is evenly distributed again. 8. The highlighted text is now "Yellow" Actual Results: The changes that I had made were not saved. Expected Results: After closing and reopening the document, I had expected the text to be in the left column only and the highlighted text to be "Light Yellow 3". Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes Additional Info: I made a few screen copies. I will upload them when I can. I tried to enable OpenGL, but then I get a screen that's almost entirely gray. (Please check image "OpenGL.png".) I solved this by closing LibreOffice and resetting the user profile.
