I have now tried this with OpenGL rendering and without it. It doesn't matter
whether OpenGL is being used or not.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131471] New: Rendering of background changes due to conditional formatting fails in merged cells across multiple rows in some cases in Calc.

2020-03-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131471

Bug ID: 131471
Summary: Rendering of background changes due to conditional
formatting fails in merged cells across multiple rows
in some cases in Calc.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.4.2.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: eric.b.pr...@gmail.com

Description:
With merged cells spanning multiple rows, rendering of conditional formatting
when that formatting is a background color and font color change fails in some
cases. For instance, if a 3x3 grid of 2x2 merged cells has conditional
formatting applied to all cells, the last row of 2x2 cells in the grid will
only partially change background when the condition is met. All other merged
cells in the grid display their formatting properly. It does not matter how
many rows or columns are in the grid.

The rendering bug manifests as only one of the rows the 2x2 merged cell
changing its background. Sometimes the top row of the multi-row merged cell
changes background colors and sometimes it's only the bottom row. I have not
yet been able to determine if this is random or if certain things trigger it to
change which row is affected.

The bug appears to disappear when you save the file or when opening the file.
It appears as soon as you trigger a change that causes the condition for the
formatting to be evaluated again after opening the file or after saving the
file but not closing it.

This behavior happens in safe mode and with a fresh user profile. I have tried
this under Windows 7 Ultimate and Slackware Linux running KDE.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a 3x3 grid of merged 2x2 cells.
2. Apply conditional formatting to change the background color and foreground
color of the merged cells when a "Formula is" result is true based on an
arbitrary calculation and cell value.
3. Watch the fail happen.

Actual Results:
This is in the Description field.

Expected Results:
The background color should change completely for every merged cell that meets
the condition of the conditional formatting.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

OpenGL enabled: Yes

Repro step clarification:
- it's enough to set LO locale to Japanese,
- in the 'Table of Contents, Index or Bibliography' dialog, choosing Type
'Alphabetical Index' triggers the crash.

Confirmed both in Windows and Linux, and bibisected to the following commit
using repo bibisect-linux-64-6.2. Adding CC: to Julien Nabet.

Your sample file uses the font Tahoma which is not a standard font on my

for pptx files.

Therefore, can you confirm that you have the font Tahoma installed on your
system and thus rule out that this is a problem of displaying a substituted vs.
original font?

Yes, short of adding an explanation in the dialog itself, that would be a
solution. That is, indeed, what I did when I saw the outcome was not what I
expected, look in the Help. Since there wasn't anything there that explained
what was going on, I filed this bug report.

Update:

If I choose "Light Yellow 3" for the highlight of some text, save the document

If I save the document as a .doc , close it, and open it again, then the
highlight will be "Yellow" after reopening.

I apologize.

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=130719

I'm sorry, but I fail to see how renaming this function solves either of the
two original problems, which were: 1) wanting to return all styles back to
their original settings on opening/creating the document; and 2) believing that
the LibreOffice provided templates (Default & Modern) contained ALL the styles
defined by the program. In fact, this just confuses the issue more, as you can
load styles from a document, not just a template.

Perhaps the situation would be to 1) add a note or popup when someone chooses
to overwrite styles that only the styles in the template will be overwritten
and that the template might not contain all defined styles; or 2) add all
styles to the LibreOffice provided templates; or 3) provide an option that on
choosing to overwrite styles the program default styles are loaded first, then
overwritten by the template styles.

Any of the above three would have prevented me from filing this bug, but
renaming the function would not have, so I really don't think it resolves the
underlying issue.

I am using Debian 10/Stretch, 64 bit. I reinstalled it maybe a week ago.

Regarding the software catalog, it was updated on 03/21/2020, which is today,
but not with the latest version of Open Office? The screen copy that I had
uploaded shows the date at the bottom. (That's image: "The version in the
Software Catalog".)

If you want me to try the latest version of Open Office, then can we call
someone to put the latest version on the Software Catalog? (joking)

Call me stubborn ;) but I also checked what Microsoft Word does. I rebooted
with Windows 10 and I have two updates:

- In Word I choose to evenly distribute the text over both columns and I saved
the document. Then I rebooted with Linux/Debian and opened the document with
Open Office Writer. Then I get the text in the left column only. Nice! (But I
still would like to do this in Open Office Writer too. ;) )

- In Word I can only choose a limited number of colors for the highlighted
text. Maybe the Word format doesn't allow us to choose more colors for
highlighted text?

In that case my compliments to the Open Office developers, because they allow
me to choose from more colors for highlighted text than Word does. ;)

To be complete I added screen copy "MSWordHighlightColors.png".

On which Linux distrib are you?

Indeed, you should stick to repository of your distrib.
For ubuntu there's also ppa (LO ppa here).

Linux packages from official LO website are more for maintainers since they
manage the dependencies issues.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131470] New: Swapping columns across multiple sheets works correctly only on the active sheet.

2020-03-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131470

Bug ID: 131470
Summary: Swapping columns across multiple sheets works
correctly only on the active sheet.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.4.1.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: kostas.margiavic...@gmail.com

Description:
When multiple sheets are selected swapping columns on the active sheet works
correctly, but columns' behavior on the other sheet is incorrect.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.On Sheet1 and Sheet2 add information on cells located on ColumnA and ColumnB
2. Switch to any of the Sheets
3. Select both sheets by their tabs (ctrl- or shift- select)
4. Select A or B column by its tag.
5. Alt-drag the column to the other column's place

Actual Results:
1. On the active sheet the columns swapped places.
2. But on the other sheet the non-selected column(the one supposed to move its
place) disappears.

Expected Results:
The columns on other sheets should swap the same way as they do on the active
sheet

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
In case you have multiple columns and want to swap 2 of them, then they do swap
correctly on the active sheet, but the columns on the other sheet(-s) is
unpredictable. One of the columns disappears, but others move their position. I
couldn't understand the actual algorithm.

I tried to install the latest version, but I may need a hint.

The easiest way is via the Software Catalog, but then I will get version
6.1.5.3 . I assume that's not the version you want me to try, so I didn't do
that. (Please check SoftwareCatalog.png)

Then I went to https://www.libreoffice.org/download/download/ . I downloaded
LibreOffice 6.4.2 and I had "LibreOffice_6.4.2_Linux_x86-64_rpm.tar.gz" . After
extracting it I had folder "LibreOffice_6.4.2.2_Linux_x86-64_rpm" . In that
folder I found file "install" and I ran it. (That's InstallExecute.png) But
nothing seemed to happen.

Hoping to get some extra information I tried to open the file with an editor.
(Please refer to "InstallOpen.png".)

I also tried to right-click "LibreOffice_6.4.2_Linux_x86-64_rpm.tar.gz" with
"Software & Updates", but that didn't work.

Then I tried to right-click "LibreOffice_6.4.2_Linux_x86-64_rpm.tar.gz" and
open with "Software". That didn't work either.

Is there someone who could give me a hint?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131469] New: Add an IFVALUE function to Calc

2020-03-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131469

Bug ID: 131469
Summary: Add an IFVALUE function to Calc
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.4.1.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: directo...@gmx.de

Imagine the following situation: You have a cell in column A which contains a
value in dependence of which you want to set the value of a cell in columb B.

Expamle: Cell B4 depends on A1.

Cell A1 Cell B4
   1 A
   13B
   27C
   65D
   77E

Normally you would have to do something like this in the formula of cell B4:

= IF (A1=1;"A" ; IF (A1=13;"B"; IF (A1=27;"C"; IF (A1=65;"D"; IF (A1=77;"E" ;
"" )

That's why I suggest to add a new function "IFVALUE", or "WENNWERT" in the
German localization.

The usage would be like this:

= IFVALUE (referenced cell ; IF-value1;THEN-value1 ; IF-value2;THEN-value2 ;
IF-value3;THEN-value3 ; ELSE-value)

So the above example could be shortened like this:
= IFVALUE (A1 ; 1;"A"; 13;"B"; 27;"C"; 65;"D"; 77;"E"; "")

As far as I can see, this reports leads to the general and very important
question, if LO should follow the rules for a special style (for example
Chicago Manual of Style). So I would change the bug summary to "Alphabetical
index should follow rules of Chicago Manual of Styles". Decision about that is
not trivial.

Perhaps alphabetical index follows the rules of a certain style guide. If this
is the case, there should be an information in LO help [1]

When using colour emojis, which can easily happen when you copy e.g. a task
list from a website writer becomes really slow.

I attached an example file with about 150 ✅ symbols so it is very easy to
reproduce.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131467] New: Positioning of mouse on "Default Button" not working with some dialogs.

2020-03-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 131467
Summary: Positioning of mouse on "Default Button" not working
with some dialogs.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.4.2.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: gegio...@hotmail.com

Description:
Positioning of mouse on "Default Button" not working with some dialogs.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Set "Options"-"View"-"Mouse"-Positioning" to "Default button".
2.Copy some cells in Spreadsheet.
3.Move to other cell in sheet and from contextual menu choose "Paste
Special"-"Paste Special..."

Actual Results:
"Paste Special" dialog open but mouse pointer is not on default button but
suddenly moved far away to the left of the screen.

Expected Results:
When "Paste Special" dialog opens mouse pointer should be on the "OK" button
which should be selected.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

OpenGL enabled: Yes

Additional Info:
Using LibreOffice downloaded from document foundation site. It is working
properly in version 6.2.
Tested with a clean new user profile. It happens both with OpenGL enabled and
disabled.
With some dialogs, like "File Save" the positioning is working as expected.
Problem is not random: with a given dialog it either always work or always does
not work, it depends on the dialog.

Here is a way to trigger the unexpected behavior without using any macros
whatsoever:

1. Open the workbook.
2. Select Sheet2.
3. Right-Click on the Row 9 header and Delete the row.
(Rows below 7 are not protected and intentionally deletable)
4. Return to Sheet1 - Right Arrow beyond Column "N" causes jump to "BM".

Bug ID: 131466
Summary: Maybe some document settings aren't saved?
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: Other
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: bart...@tushmail.com

Description:
First of all, my compliments to all the people who make and maintain
LibreOffice. I'm using Linux and without LibreOffice I couldn't make documents,
spreadsheets etc.

As for my report, I think that for a developer this is not a big bug. It's more
a buggy. :) :) For users however, it's really nice if this can be corrected.

I have a document with two columns. On the last page I want the text in the
left column only. To do this I had unchecked the box "Evenly distribute
contents to all columns" and I get what I want. I had highlighted part of the
text with color "Light Yellow 3". (Not using "Yellow" also saves a lot of
precious ink. ;) )

(This is image "ColumnsAndHighlight1.png")

When I save, close and reopen the document, the text is evenly distributed
again and the highlighted text is now "Yellow".

(This is image "ColumnsAndHighlight2.png")

Steps to Reproduce:
1. I open a document, and I create text in two columns.
2. In one of the columns choose Format -> Columns
3. I uncheck "Evenly distribute contents to all columns"
4. Part of the text has been highlighted with color "Light Yellow 3"
5. I save the document and close it.
6. I reopen the document
7. On the last page the text is evenly distributed again.
8. The highlighted text is now "Yellow"

Actual Results:
The changes that I had made were not saved.

Expected Results:
After closing and reopening the document, I had expected the text to be in the
left column only and the highlighted text to be "Light Yellow 3".

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
I made a few screen copies. I will upload them when I can.

I tried to enable OpenGL, but then I get a screen that's almost entirely gray.
(Please check image "OpenGL.png".) I solved this by closing LibreOffice and
resetting the user profile.

Version: 6.1.5.2
Build ID: 1:6.1.5-3+deb10u5
CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 4.19; UI render: default; VCL: gtk2;
Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); Calc: group threaded

I'm having a 64bit Intel processor. I didn't know which one to select from the
list.

I validated this one but then I saw that "ACOS" was translated "INVERS.COS".
Just wonder if "ASIN" should be translated to "INVERS.ASIN", etc.

Raphaël: if I well understood and comparing with Nynorsk:
- ASIN, ATAN, ACOT, ASINH, ATANH, ACOTH, ATAN2 functions should be the same in
Norsk bokmål
- VAR.P => VARIANS.P (since we've got already VARP => VARIANSP)
- LOGNORM.DIST => LOGNORM.FORD
- RAWSUBTRACT => RÅSUBTRAKSJON (should we put the same as Nynorsk?)

You talked about suggestions, could you indicate where you put these?

With first click on delete decimal places from a general format, it becames 13

Could you give a try at:
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/FirstSteps

If you still reproduce this, would it be possible you retrieve a backtrace?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131336] Command .uno:MacroDialog (Alt+F11) does no longer work

2020-03-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131336

I thought it might be a problem, because I have used an administrative
installation. I now have made a clean, regular installation of daily LO with
new user profile. The problem is still there. And in addition the dialog "Basic
Macro Organizer" is not available. You need it to manage Libraries. The dialog
is opened by .uno:MacroOrganizer.

I have tested it with Version: 7.0.0.0.alpha0+ (x64)
Build ID: 6388c578c672690fff662cb04b6a0436cd742f37
CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 18362; UI render: Skia/Vulkan; VCL: win;
Locale: en-US (en_US); UI-Language: en-US
Calc: CL

I have got Oracle Java 9.0.1. Might it be a problem with Java?

Okay, will keep this in mind.

Now, will the build be automatically triggered or I need to do something, so
that the patch gets pushed successfully.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131463] New: Some Slide Transiition Does Not Work As Expected

Some of Slide Transitions does not work as expected, IIRC this issue appears in
6.x series but which exact version it started to arise

1. Fade > not sure this works or not
2. Cut
3. Push > looks like inverted, the image similar with wipe but out of white
rectangular border
4. Fall
5. Vortex
6. Honeycomb

Talking about slide transition, why LibreOffice has less slide transition
effects than OpenOffice 4.1.7 AOO417m1(Build:9800) - Rev.46059c9192 (34 vs 65
effects)?

Don't see a reason to add options that override system settings. So rather not.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131462] New: MACRO WILL NOT COPY CELLS VALUES WHOSE CELLS HAVE VLOOKUP INDEX>2

2020-03-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131462

Bug ID: 131462
Summary: MACRO WILL NOT COPY CELLS VALUES WHOSE CELLS HAVE
VLOOKUP INDEX>2
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.4.1.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: romrod...@outlook.com

Description:
I made a macro to copy table A and paste its values (paste special) into table
B.
Those cells having a vlookup function with index>2 will not be copied.

I have attached a spreadsheet with a macro that copies the values from the
table B (range AT18 BF247) into the table A on the left (range B18 N247).
The macro is activated by the button UPDATE. Look at the brown columns in table
A on the right, press the button at B210 and look at the brown columns in table
B. Those values whose origin have vlookup functions with indexes > 2 are
missing. To check this bug, modify the indexes to 1 or 2, press the button and
it will work.
(some cells in the brown columns are just values, =strings, etc, to check the
hypothesis).

Steps to Reproduce:
1. OPEN THE ATTACHED DOCUMENT (ALLOW MACROS)
2. PRESS THE "UPDATE" BUTTON.
3. BROWN COLUMNS HAVE NOT BEEN COPIED IF THEIR ORIGIN HAVE A VLOOKUP FUNCTION
WHOSE INDEX IS >2

Actual Results:
BROWN CELLS IN ROWS 218 AND 227 ARE BLANK.

Expected Results:
BROWN CELLS IN ROWS 218 AND 227 SHOULD HAVE THEIR VALUE COPIED.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

OpenGL enabled: Yes

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131461] New: Connexion to NextCloud and collaborative editing

Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement

  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org

I would like to connect the offline version of LO with NextCloud and to make
use of the collaborative editing.
As far as I know, collaborative editing is only possible with LibreOffice
Online.
Making use of the offline version for collaborative editing would allow to use
all the rich features of the offline version.
Such kind of collaborative editing of the offline version is possible with
Microsoft Office or OnlyOffive.
