you please try to reproduce it with a master build from

the standard version. I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change
it back to 'UNCONFIRMED' if the bug is still present in the master build

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 132651] UI: Changing the resolution by typing doesn't update width/height field

To be clear, in step 4 Telesto's expectation is that width/height should be
updated right when the resolution is typed in, while now it's only updated if
you click away, or if you incremend/decrement the value using the spinners.

I'm not sure what the common behavior is, and whether it can reasonably be
implemented, or it's a limitation of the spinbox. When the controls were text
boxes, this worked as expected.

In LO 4.4 the dialog was much more simplistic, which changed a few versions
later (in both cases these controls were text boxes). At that point changing
the value directly triggers recalculation, but in 6.2 the value entry fields
became spinboxes, and there's no immediate recalculation. Bibisected the latter
change to the following commit with repo bibisect-linux-64-6.2. Adding CC: to

Created attachment 161706
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=161706=edit
Writer document with Draw shape pasted and OLE with dimensioning embedded

Copy paste places a Draw shape--with the unwanted dimension.

Insert -> Object -> OLE Object 'From file' has the desired scaled dimension.

However, working with the OLE is a bit cumbersome--you MUST set drawing canvas
to the size that you need to work with. Also, the placement of the OLE onto a
Writer document will include the OLE frame -- not just the Draw canvas, so
positioning and sizing has to include the extra space.

It is awkward but the key is that the dimensionless is an attribute of the
Drawing, placement (copy/paste) as a shape takes a clip from the Draw canvas.

Dear Jean-Sebastien Bevilacqua,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 133743] New: "Safe mode" is meaningless for most end-users

2020-06-06 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=133743

Bug ID: 133743
Summary: "Safe mode" is meaningless for most end-users
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Keywords: needsUXEval
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: UI
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: olivier.hal...@libreoffice.org

Real end users barely understand the meaning of "Enter safe mode" in menu Help.

A better string is recomended.

"Fix %PRODUCTNAME"
"Repair my %PRODUCTNAME"
"Fix %PRODUCTNAME user profile"
"Fix user profile"
"Fix my profile"
"Repair my installation"
"Repair %PRODUCTNAME installation"
(...)

The issue raised because of the many, many end-user asks for support in askbot
related to LO misbehavior, and too often the issue is (can be) a broken
profile. Most of them will not catch the purpose of the "safe mode" and will
overlook the feature.

Worse, in some cultures users re-install LibreOffice from scratch, expecting to
fix a profile issue.

Changing the menu entry as suggested may help end-user, who is looking to fix
his LibreOffice.

Options of right-click context menu of WPS Office taskbar shortcut.

When right-clicking on a shortcut in the Windows Taskbar it's possible to have
several actions in the context menu that shows up. There's also a recent files
list opened by each shortcut, and you can pin some of those files.

When you right-click on the WPS Office taskbar shortcut, you get the option to
open a new document, new spreadsheet, new presentation and new PDF.
The icon for LO has nothing. I would like to suggest adding such options to the
taskbar shortcut of LO in Windows for users that do not wish to have one
shortcut for each module of LO.

Bug ID: 133741
Summary: Display glitch related to cell Validity settings
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.4.4.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc

  Reporter: ming.v@qq.com

Sample file showing the glitch

When cells have validity check (via Data > Validity...) set to a list of
predefined items, Calc displays a button with down arrow (like one with
drop-down list) when input focus in on such cells.

However, if one sheet has cells with such validity check in place, the
down-arrow button sometimes show up in other sheets (which don't have any
validity checks) as well, causing confusions.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open attached sample file, which have the A column of the second sheet
(named "Validity Check") set with validity check;
2. Click the sheet tab at the bottom to switch to the second sheet, click one
cell in A column, say A5, the down-arrow button appears;
3. Click the sheet tab again to switch to the first sheet (named "Display
Glitch");
4. Now the A5 cell in the first sheet, not focused, also has a down-arrow
button next to it.

I see this with both 6.4.4 and 7.0.0 beta1 on Windows 10.

Bug ID: 133739
Summary: OpenGL transitions are flashing in an unexpected

   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.4.4.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: rafael.palma.l...@gmail.com

Description:
Transitions that rely on OpenGL such as Fade, Iris and Circles do not work as
expected. Rather they show a weird flashy effect.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Create a new Impress presentation with two slides
2.Insert text and objects in both slides
3.Apply the "Fade" transition to the second slide
4.Press F5 to start the presentation
5.Move from first to second slide

Actual Results:
The move to the second slide shows a weird effect, instead of the expected Fade
transition.

Expected Results:
I expected the Flash transition without these weird flashing of the screen.

Reproducible: Always

Additional Info:
I posted a video on Youtube showing the transition effect:

My computer runs Ubuntu 20.04 and I am using the PPA version of LibreOffice. I

I don't think the bisect points to a time when it worked by design, more by
chance depending on fairly random glyph fallback quirks

repro

Version: 7.0.0.0.beta1 (x64)
Build ID: 94f789cbb5b4a511c319542c7bdc31ff3b3c
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 6.1 Service Pack 1 Build 7601; UI render:
Skia/Raster; VCL: win
Locale: en-US (de_DE); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

The were two things that caught my attention:

1. It's not necessary to add a slide. You can open just a ODP with more than
one slide and then insert the chart on slide 2 or higher.

2. In this case, it seems that Impress 'learns' the name of the unspecified
undo object "Edit text" by undoing it and then redoing it. But I could not make
work with “Insert Chart”.

It's like this:
1. Open a ODP with 2 slides
2. Go to slide 2
3. Insert Chart
4. To 'finish' the step 'Insert Chart', change 'focus' and click on box 'Click
to add title' ('Edit text of Title text')

The Undo is now unspecified “Undo :” (NOT “Undo: Edit text of Title text 'Click
to...'")
1. Click on unspecified Undo
It's “Undo: ” again (for Chart Insertion), but now Redo specifies the object!
It's: "Redo: Edit text of Title text 'Click to…'"
2. Click on Redo
Undo changed from “Undo: “ to “Undo: Edit text of Title text 'Click to…'".

I attach a screencast.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 127147] In Burmese some drop cap with numbers are bigger than others

2020-06-06 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=127147

I don’t see a big here, may be an unfortunate feature. The font size is set so
that the bounding box of the text fits in N lines, and the first drop cap has a
larger descender so it uses a smaller font size size than the second one which
does not have a descender at all.

I don’t know what the “correct” versions looked like, but the only option here
is to use the line height instead of the bounding box, but then users of, say,
Latin fonts with ascender bigger than cap height will be getting extra empty
space above drop caps and smaller font size than what they have now.
