I have upgraded to version 6.4.4.2 and the bug is no longer there. All saving
and deleting of Auto Recovery files in the back up folder now seems to be
working correctly.

Really? When moving the entire group they do appear, though. If they also
appeared when moving the group components themselves it would be really
helpful, to align and distribute them. Is that really nonsense?

Bibisected using repos bibisect-43max and bibisect-44max.

After the following commit, no orange color is shown after opening the file:
https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=4a0b5e569d070c286daefb0fdfe45c0dd15d241c

committer Miklos Vajna 2014-04-25 13:08:06

"i#124638 support for DrawingLayre FillStyle for GraphicFrames and ..."

Then after this commit, the background color is back, but the behavior is
already buggy:

These commits seem to deal with the affected functionality, but I can't verify
that, and it might be an implementation error in that case, too. Marking as
notBibisectable.

Dear Matt Hirsch,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 134481] Add control grouping "labeling" to NB Tabbed Interface

2020-07-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=134481

The MUFFIN NB modes are Glade UI based assemblages of control objects--there is
just a lightweight framework in place to support these UNO controls, exploiting
their existing attributes.

Beyond what is provided in the Groupedbar NB mode already, what you request
would require additional dev effort to extend the framework, and also design &
documentation work to populate the "contextual" details of the NB groups.

You are of course welcome to implement to extend the framework.

But such visual annotation simply does not belong on the Tabbed NB UI which was
implemented as a streamlined MUFFIN alternative UI to our full function
Toolbars, object Context menus and the SideBar deck UI.

Bug ID: 134515
   Summary: FORMATTING, EDITING: Librecalc text-color-selector
resets every time you insert a comment
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.4.3.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: ammar.ja...@alumni.stonybrook.edu

Description:
Librecalc text-color-selector (the little icon with the letter "a" that lets
you select what color your text is in a cell) resets to red every time you
insert a comment.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Enter text into Cell A1
2. Color the contents of Cell A1 any color not red (say, for example, green)
3. Insert a comment in any cell on the spreadsheet

Actual Results:
The text-color-selector reverts back to red.

Expected Results:
The text-color-selector stays green. I expect the text-color-selector to remain
at the color that I set it to, and only change when I explicitly ask it to.

2020-07-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 134513
Summary: EDITING: Librecalc slows down incredibly (or crashes)
if you Ctrl-Down in a column with rows having more
than a handful of formulas and the lowest modified row
is a formula.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.4.3.2 release

Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org

Description:
Something strange happens if I hit Ctrl+Down. Suppose the following condition
are met:
1. A column has "more than a handful of formulas" (in my bug tests I need at
least 19, but I don't think this is some magic number -- it could be 19 on my
machine given my hardware and 25 for you)
2. The last modified row (say, around row 200), is a formula
3. I'm on the last modified row

If these condition are met and I hit Ctrl+Down to warp to the lowest possible
row (row 1048576 on my machine), then libreoffice gets VERY slow and sometimes
crashes if the number of formulas is higher than 19 (in my case).

My hardware is as follows:
Processor: Intel i7-10875H 5.1Ghz
RAM: 32G Dual Channel DDR4 at 3200Mhz
Gfx: NVidia RTX 2070 w/ 2304 CUDA Cores

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 134481] Add control grouping "labeling" to NB Tabbed Interface

2020-07-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=134481

Hello Stuart,

Thank you for that reasoned explanation,I however think we are talking about
two two distinct ideas on discoverability. You refer to 'tooltips' and
'extended tooltips' and indeed if I hover my mouse over the icon I currently
see the name of the icon and I think you mean in the future that I would see a
more detailed explanation of the functionality when I hover the mouse pointer
over the icon.

This is not the point that I was trying to make before. If I want a particular
function in any of the constituent applications and do not know the icon in the
currently implemented 'tooltip' workflow/search I could potentially have to
hover my mouse over every icon in all of the 'tabs' until I find the correct
description/tooltip. This to me is cumbersome and inefficient. Don't get me
wrong that is a very useful feature to have and I will be happy to see the
extended descriptions, it will however not make me find the functionality I
require to perform the given task any quicker.

However, what I am explaining is for the icon groupings to have contextually
grouped descriptions underneath. If I want design, for example, I need no
knowledge of the icon pictorially, I simply navigate to the associated 'design'
section efficiently and quickly. I would then use the 'tooltips' on a small
number of icons to find the functionality required.

I think both of these methods for discoverability should work in tandem for the
benefit of the user. Tooltips only is not efficient. If there is a technical
reason such as the translation issue you mention then I can appreciate the
rational for your decision. However I do not understand the description 'clean
"Tabbed" mode NB UI.'

Is the tabbed compact mode NB UI 'cleaner' as it is smaller vertically? I think
this is somewhat subjective based upon the end users needs and wants.

As I commented earlier these descriptions underneath the grouped information
sections could be made optional, my opinion is they are useful and add value to
the interface by improving the speed and accuracy of discoverability by
removing unnecessary requirements to memorize many icons. I hope that
explanation makes sense?

I think this also supports the UX-discovery principles on the design wiki.

https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Design/Principles

ux-discovery
Users should be able to discover functionality and information by visually
exploring the interface, they should not be forced to recall information from
memory. [Source: Nielsen]

Kind regards

Document with faulty shape from Fontwork Gallery

Open attached document. It has two Fontwork shapes. The left one is the
original shape from the Fontwork Gallery. The right on was changed by applying
the transformation "Curve Up".

Save the file to pptx format and open it in PowerPoint. The left shape is not
rendered, only the right one.

Unpack the attached file and compare the two shapes in content.xml. The shape
from the fontwork gallery has two values in attribute draw:modifiers in element
. There should be only one value, because the shape has
only one handle.

The same error was in the shape "Favorite 4" in the old set of Fontwork shapes.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 133051] FILESAVE. An .ods file, when Save As .csv or .xlsx, Aborts without Saving File when Overwriting Existing File

Thank you Buovjaga and Imanuel Ronaldo for trying to reproduce my problem.

I tried with the newest versions available on the website, 6.4.5.2 and
7.0.0.0.beta2, and confirmed my previous results; an .ods file, File, Save As
.csv will not overwrite an existing file. Likewise, it will not overwrite an
existing .xlsx file. An Export will overwrite an existing .pdf file. Before
each test, I reset my profile.

I did notice a potential contributing factor to the problem. LibreOffice
doesn't consistently show up in the System Preferences, Security & Privacy,
Privacy, Files and Folders access list. I was unable to add LibreOffice to the
list (the plus and minus signs were greyed out, and I tried reseting the list
using tccutil in Terminal, but that didn't solve the problem). Sometimes LO
appeared in the list, and sometimes it didn't.

_Must_ is a hard word. Pixel-perfection is a nice to have. But since the list
recreates when switching from one style to another I think it's of minor
importance in this case.

The whole anchoring thing is getting really confusing. A DOCX anchor to
character does things differently compared to an ODT (except if the ODT is
generated from DOCX).. The DOCX has something or is lacking something, which
makes to anchoring doing things differently.. for some unobvious reason

There are multiple phases in the evolution. During 7.0, it changed from the
crash happening at step 3. CTRL+C to the one in the description. This change is

tdf#129805 writerfilter: fix import of nested generic field

Help lines refer to the 2D canvas. If you are inside the 3D-scene and move a
3D-object, then 2D-help lines make no sense.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 134506] New: epub Output Doesn't Validate

2020-07-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=134506

Bug ID: 134506

   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: x86 (IA32)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED

  Reporter: l...@seki.com

Created attachment 162636

First fewDemonstration pages AND validator output at end

Using LibreOffice 6.3.6.2 (x64) on Windows 10: epub export does not work
correctly (according to http://validator.idpf.org/). The epub output displays
properly on my viewer, but the glitches the validator indicates mean it is
basically unpublishable. Worse, because the Validator is so primitive, the
diagnostics look intended for the writer of the conversion tool and are useless
to an end-user like me. I will attach a file with both my test document and a
screen shot of the validator's complaint. The errors occur for both epub 2.0
and epub 3.0 exports.
When I submit the epub of my complete novel, I am given dozen of errors,
most of which look to me like they mean there is unpaired XHTML or some XHTML
is left in the epub that needs to be completely removed. I can forward that
file if it would help.
