[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 115288] Page numbers without hidden slides

2020-08-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=115288

What is even weirder about this bug is that the total slide count seems to
exclude hidden slides but the total slide number does not.

Is that intentional or a bug?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 135400] New: [FILESAVE] Saving as xlsx (2007-365) would bring ~50 white rectangles putting at position (0, 0)

2020-08-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=135400

Bug ID: 135400
Summary: [FILESAVE] Saving as xlsx (2007-365) would bring ~50
white rectangles putting at position (0,0)
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 3.6.7.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: frank...@goodhorse.idv.tw

Description:
Reported by users.

The attached sample files is an xlsx generated by Microsoft Excel (unknown
version). When opening it with LibreOffice it was okay. Then save it back
with xlsx format, close and reopen it, there will be a lot of white rectangles
putting at position (0,0) with name "CustomShape1". Those rectangles can be
dragged (moved) and deleted.

After deleting all the rectangles and save the file again it will be okay.

* Saving as xls (97-2003) will not produce the rectangles.
* Saving as ods will not produce the rectangles.
* Saving as xls/ods THEN saving as xlsx (2007-) *will* produce the rectangles.

So far only this sample file will have this behavior.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open the attached xlsx file
2. Save as another xlsx (2007-) file (to avoid overwriting the original one)
3. Open the saved new file
4. A lot of rectangles will appear.

Actual Results:
~50 white rectangles will appear in the position (0,0)

Expected Results:
rectangles shouldn't be there

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
The earliest version I tested was
版本 3.6.7.2 (組建 ID:e183d5b)
so it seems to be a bug inherited from OOo.

7.0 alpha1 can reproduce this behavior.
Version: 7.0.0.0.alpha1
Build ID: 6a03b2a54143a9bc0c6d4c7f1...
CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 5.7; UI render: default; VCL: kf5;
Locale: zh-TW (zh_TW.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

Didn't test with RC1/2.

Related to this bug: can it now be closed?
Or do we still need something, like a message to explain to the user that the
file they are trying to open will only work if the experimental feature is
turned on?

I first noticed this in a local build of commit 51735e69 (2020-07-30)
on debian-buster. The bibisect result is from bibisect-linux-64-6.4
on the same system, using (a copy of) the user profile from my local
build.

Note that I see the problem only with SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gtk3 and only
when using LibreOfficeDev dialogs; system dialogs do not have the
problem.

I see the problem with Save-As from Calc and Writer; I have not tried
other applications.

(0) Make your LibreOffice use LibreOffice dialogs:

  - Menu Tools > Options... . Program presents dialog "Options -
... - User Data".

  - In left pane, click General. Program presents dialog
"Options - ... - General"

  - Ensure that "Open/Save Dialogs" > "Use LibreOfficeDev dialogs"
is checked. Save this change if necessary.

(1) Start Calc. LibreOffice presents Calc window "Untitled 1"

(2) Menu options File > "Save As...". LibreOffice presents dialog
"Save as". The directory named is your home Documents directory.

good : The middle pane shows the directories and files in your
   home Documents directory.

bad : The directory name is selected (i.e., reverse-image),
the list is empty, and the first (blank) item in the
   list is selected.

(3) Change directory name to /tmp and press .

good : The middle pane shows the directories and files in /tmp/.

bad : The middle pane is empty , and the first (blank) item in
  the list is selected.

I am setting priority minor because (*) the problem only appears in
specific conditions (*)the problem is grossly obvious, (*) the user
may be able to complete the save without the list, and (*) an easy
(albeit not obvious) workaround is to use system dialogs for
Open/save.

I am setting keywords corruptProfile, bibisected, bisected,
regression, and I am setting blocks: GTK3.

Any advice about how to localize the problem within the user profile
would be welcome.

That is Linux; this entry is for Windows. I tested it on Ubuntu Gnome (dark
theme) and the checkbox texts were white as your KDE, but on Windows, it shows
blue text on a dark background, making it difficult to read.

I can type in (in 5.0 and newer versions) but it has no effect for the table.
After closing and reopening the dialog then the original value is visible.

Also in 6.3 with spin buttons.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 135392] New: Paste from AOO to CALC overwriting cells with data fails to give warning

2020-08-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 135392
Summary: Paste from AOO to CALC overwriting cells with data
fails to give warning
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.4.5.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: daleelt...@gmail.com

I'm converting from Apache and had occasion to copy-paste a range of cells from
AOO into Calc. When I did it overwriting cells containing data there was no
overwrite warning. I checked the options and Warning was selected. Then I
experimented with data copied from other cells within the Calc sheet and that
gave the proper warning. Apparently the source of the data matters. I believe
that the Paste overwrite action should be the same regardless of the Copy
source because it is an indication that existing data will be lost.

It looks like it might be using a floating point value in the background for
calculations and showing a rounded up currency value in the column. That might
be why it adds up differently.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 135373] It is impossible to move text blocks independently of the Headings that they're underneath

2020-08-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=135373

I'm going to give you a nonfictional use case that happened multiple times at
Fujitsu Software, 1998 through 2000 — two full years.

I'm sitting in a developer brainstorming session, writing about ideas that I
don't understand using jargon that I don't understand, taking notes in
shorthand at break neck speed. Two hours later, I take my 50 pages of notes to
my cubicle and I type them into Word — all in text format. To me it's all
gibberish at this point.

I'm using the MS Word outliner. Once my notes are all typed, I go back to the
beginning and create half a dozen blank Heading 5 lines at the top. Then I
start to read my lines that I've typed from shorthand. When I notice that
several lines of notes are connected, I grab the button at the front of the
line, and I drag it up under one of the headings. I write a word or phrase in
the Heading 5, and I collapse it.

Eventually, all my notes are collapsed inside of Heading 5 titles. I go to the
top of the document, and I create empty Heading 4 lines. I'm beginning to
understand the document information from the meeting. I read through all of my
Heading 5 titles, and when two of them seem related, I drag them up to the
empty Heading 4s.

When everything is fully organized in this fashion, I'll uncollapse the first
section of the document, and using the buttons at the front of the line, I
rearranged all the ideas by dragging and dropping them. Sometimes I even take
them elsewhere in the document to drop them.

At the end of the week or two, I have an Agile document that is useful for both
the code architect and each of the members of the team, and they can produce a
coherent product from my organized and rewritten notes.

Any outliner that doesn't to do this is useless to me. This functionality gives
me superpowers, whether I'm writing an Agile document for a team of Java
coders, or novel, or a poem, or an article from magazine. I could give you
hundreds of nonfictional use cases from my experience alone.

Thank you, Deiter.

Does it solve my problem? Mostly.

Finding the most recent version and installing it by following the enclosed
"readme" was easy.

Yes, one has to enable experimental features.

One also has to go to "Tools => Options => LibreOfficeDev Writer => View" and
enable "Show outline content visibility button."

Then, yes, one can see and test the feature.

(Users who've been following the bug will know that the feature involves
different levels of headings and text, and not the sort of outline one gets
from "Bullets and numbering.")

My one remaining question concerns how a user is to keep the "most recent
version" up to date. Does "Tools => Options => LibreOfficeDev => Online Update
=> Every day" see to that? Is one then automatically informed of new builds? Is
the process of updating automatic? Or does one have to do something further?

Thank you very much again, Deiter, for your help.

Behavior is an autocorrection feature. Configured by locale.

Simple to disable (or modify to a different character) the default
autocorrection.

>From the main menu:
Tools -> AutoCorrect -> AutoCorrect Options and on the 'Localized Options' tab
--uncheck or modify the 'Single Quotes' (or the 'Double Quotes') substitution.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 135390] New: Linked Graphic on localhost slows freezes application for several seconds when not available

2020-08-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=135390

Bug ID: 135390
Summary: Linked Graphic on localhost slows freezes application
for several seconds when not available
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.4.5.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: eelcodevlie...@hotmail.com

Description:
Linked Graphic on localhost slows freezes application for several seconds when
not available.

I was sent a file by someone else, linking multiple local web server images.
Scrolling through this document froze the application for multiple seconds, as
well as freezing other LibreOffice application instances.

I have a fairly high spec PC (32 thread, 64GB ram) which was hardly under any
load. Perhaps the resolving of this linked graphic can be done asynchronously
to prevent blocking the user.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Insert > Image
2. Enter Localhost image URL as 'File Name' and check the 'Link' checkbox >
confirm 'Keep Link'
3. Save and close document
4. Stop localhost server
5. Re-open document, scrolling over the localhost linked graphic will freeze
Writer for several seconds. It also freezes other open LibreOffice Writer or
Calc instances.

Actual Results:
Scrolling over the localhost linked graphic will freeze Writer for several
seconds. It also freezes other open LibreOffice Writer or Calc instances.

Expected Results:
No delay, should just be an unresolved graphic without blocking the application

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

I feel this depends on the the theme. I bet you have a missing icon (like I do)
for the "new document" toolbar item in the standard toolbar. And this is
somehow connected with
https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=789f67940af461c18b0a2ffbc6313b91fb08f26a
though maybe only in some sense that an incremental build isn't picking up on
those changes correctly
