[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 139420] New: Qualify window title for running presentations
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=139420 Bug ID: 139420 Summary: Qualify window title for running presentations Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.0.7.3 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: medium Component: Impress Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: hiran.chaudh...@gmx.net Description: When I start presenting an Impress document the presentation goes fullscreen and I like it. However, when I want to share the running presentation with others via Teams, Skype, WebEx or else I sometimes need to find the window by title. Having just "LibreOffice 6.0" just confuses me and seems to be an impediment for others. Therefore I suggest to set a window title similar to the editing impress window and prefix it with "presenting". so opening my presentation DemoGoodstuff.odp would show a window and starting the demo would open a fullscreen window with the title "presenting DemoGoodstuff.odp - LibreOffice Impress" Steps to Reproduce: 1. on Ubuntu Linux 18.04 or 20.04, create a presentation with the given LibreOffice installation 2. Start a WebEx call, Openmeetings, Jitsi-Meet or some other videoconferencing tool in the browser (using WebRCT) 3. Try to share the running presentation as application, not the whole screen Actual Results: The WebRCT function in the browser will show all open windows' titles, the one you are searching for is "LibreOffice 6.0". If you are lucky you can see a thumbnail and decide from that what to share. Expected Results: Wish: a qualified window name as suggested above Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: This has been tested both on Ubuntu 18.04 and Ubuntu 20.04. AFAIK this has never been any different and is only getting important when trying to share the window. In my test (see video), I get the date recognised, and the value shown in the spreadsheet is 11/10/09, but the actual value in the field is 11/10/2009. When saving as CSV (File > Save as...), keeping "Save cell content as shown" unticked, I get the full "11/10/2009" in the resulting CSV. If you tick "Save cell content as shown", you will only have "11/10/09" in the resulting CSV (as expected). I agree with you though, the format should be unambiguous, and an ISO standard would be ideal, but the reality is that a lot (/most of?) the users are used to reading the format DD/MM/, so having it as a default might make sense. But if saving to CSV _does_ reduce 2009 to 09 (with "Save cell content as shown" not ticked), that _is_ a case of data loss, but I can't reproduce on: Version: 7.0.4.2 Build ID: 00(Build:2) CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 4.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Locale: en-AU (en_AU.UTF-8); UI: en-US Ubuntu package version: 1:7.0.4_rc2-0ubuntu0.18.04.2 Calc: threaded Could you check that "Save cell content as shown" setting, and try on the latest version of the LO 7.0 ? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99884 --- Comment #4 from QA Administrators --- Dear Dennis Roczek, To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year. There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If you have time, please do the following: Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. Please DO NOT Update the version field Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker) Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case) If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. Ah, many thanks! So I am indeed to untalented. But this is very unintuitive and also no suitable workflow when you have several fields. Without your help, I would have never found out how to get the language right and the solution requires to open 2 dialogs. There should at least be a separate button to open the second dialog. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 139415] New: Language of date field is not changed by menu Tools->Language
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=139415 Bug ID: 139415 Summary: Language of date field is not changed by menu Tools->Language Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.0.4.2 release Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: uwesto...@web.de Description: Documents using several languages is nothing special. For example you send new years greetings in your local language and in English. Assume the case you are writing a letter. You add a date field to get e.g. "December, 31, 2020". For the second language, you need the date field to output e.g. the German "31. Dezember 2020". The intuitive way is to highlight the fields and its surrounding text and set the language to German. But thus does not affect the date field. It cost me a lot of time and first with the help in bug #139288 I was able to get the language for the field as well. I don't know if it is a bug that the fields don't change the language the "normal way" or a missing feature. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Insert a date field 2. Select it and apply the language you like to it Actual Results: the date field still shows English day and month names. Expected Results: the date field will contain the day and month names of the applied language.
