[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 141920] Calculation formula crashed after entering $ for locked cell reference

2021-04-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=141920

Yes, it's coming from the LibreOffice site.

Version:
Version: 7.0.5.2
Build ID: 64390860c6cd0aca4beafafcfd84613dd9dfb63a
CPU threads: 8; OS: Mac OS X 10.16; UI render: GL; VCL: osx
Locale: fi-FI (fi_FI.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

ARM-selection was then most probably wrong... I assumed that M1 counts as ARM
in that form. And yes, via Rosetta2 as there's no M1-LibreOffice yet.

--

I planned to redo the crash and add a screen shot here, but now that I did the
same formula on an empty Calc sheet, it didn't crash and $-char in calculation
worked as I assumed it to work. So this bug became much harder to debug since I
can't say what exactly caused it.

Thanks for testing it. I am running on Big Sur (11.2.3) so it could be a
problem only on Big Sur. Also, my further testing shows that the UI already
becomes laggy with a few thousand Japanese characters on screen without doing
anything.

Dear Robert Großkopf,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

Dear Telesto,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/c/core/+/114686

It will add a new expert configuration option:
org.openoffice.Office.Common/Load/DetectWebDAVRedirection, which would control
this new behavior introduced in tdf#126121. By default, it will be true,
allowing to detect the WebDAV mapped drives, and using WebDAV to get file's
properties. When set to false, it will return to the older way of using Windows
mechanisms of accessing the file through system path.

This allows to centrally configure the option in corporate environments if
needed: see

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 132325] Basic: Any keyword is not documented

2021-04-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=132325

As shown in the link below, ANY is indeed a synonym for VARIANT, as pointed out
by Alain (an "alias").
https://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/basic/source/comp/dim.cxx?r=b80069e1#95

The funny thing is that I was unable to find a help page dedicated to Variant.

There's a page about Basic variables, but no mention to the Variant type:
https://help.libreoffice.org/7.1/en-US/text/sbasic/shared/01020100.html?DbPAR=BASIC#bm_id3149346

The only mention to Variant I could find is here, but not very useful to
explain the data type.
https://help.libreoffice.org/7.1/en-US/text/sbasic/shared/03103600.html?DbPAR=BASIC#bm_id3143267

My suggestion is to create a few examples in the "Using Variables" help page
describing the Variant type and adding a note saying that "Any" is an alias for
Variant.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 141322] "Changing the attribute of all hyperlinks" applies only for Internet Links, plus need to mention Application Colors for "visited" and "unvisited" links

Hi! Actually LO Writer has two styles for links:
- Internet Link
- Visited Internet Link

Both apply to all links created with the Insert > Hyperlink dialog:

https://help.libreoffice.org/7.2/en-US/text/shared/02/0907.html?=WRITER=UNIX

IMO the section "Changing the attribute of all hyperlinks" help page is correct
and works not only for internet links.

I made some tests with internet links as well as links to files and sections
within files and all cases had their styles applied correctly.

I also had the correct behavior using the Format > Character dialog.

Could you please check again?

I assume you downloaded LibreOffice from the official
https://www.libreoffice.org/download/download/ site, or Apple's App Store?

AFAIK those two places don't provide build for ARM64 CPU architecture yet (and
your Macbook M1 have one), so are you using the Rosetta-equivalent to run an
Intel-based LibreOffice App on your Macbook M1?

Just to be sure, can you paste the detailed version information here? It's
located in menu "LibreOffice > About LibreOffice" (or some other menu > About
LibreOffice), and there is a copy button (after "Version Information") in the
pop-up dialog that you can use to copy the needed information to the clipboard.
 Like this:

Version: 7.0.6.1 (x64)
Build ID: 334c13825bee34d130f569ff5912aec5389765c1

hello @Regina Henschel, hello @erAck,

hope it's ok cc-ing you, i see @erAck as senior programmer and remember @Regina
as interested in and with knowledge about Standards,

i see a problem with operand ordering, have discussed in private with @Mike
Kaganski, we can agree:

- there is a rule in which order operands of e.g. sums over ranges have to be
processed:
https://docs.oasis-open.org/office/OpenDocument/v1.3/cs02/part4-formula/OpenDocument-v1.3-cs02-part4-formula.html#__RefHeading__1432166_1318037074,
there section '4.11.12 Sequences',

- calc disregards this rule by calculating e.g. '=SUM(A1:A3)' not in the order
A1 + A2 + A3,

- the calculation order is important because different sequences of the same
operands sometimes produce different results (non-associativity),

insofar 'not standard compliant', 'not ex$el compatible' and 'difficult to
control for users because results are not predictable',

we disagree if the argument list of a formula has to be processed in a certain
order,

Example: '=RAWSUBTRACT(A1; A2; A3)' calculates calc as 'A1 - A3 - A2',

I think it makes sense to make this intuitive for the users or 'according to
normal mathematical logic', also I see 'When processing a ReferenceList, the
references are processed in order (first, second if any, and so on).' from the
standard applicable here, @Mike Kaganski disagrees.

If it is not required by the standard so far I plead for it to be included in
future versions, it just makes sense.

Further one could / should include in the standard: 'the prescribed processing
order may be deviated from if mathematically correct results are achieved with
a different order'.

(something like that is done by gnumeric ...)

And in calc I plead for a work through and adaptation to the standard, simply
because it is right. I think we cannot wait for the implementation of 'Kahan'
(from which @Mike Kaganski expects a lot) to solve all accuracy problems. that
is good for a 'monolithic', 'smooth' stream of values, for a complex sheet with
complicated interwoven operations and dependencies it becomes ... complex and
complicated. It will not work without storing an additional correction value
for almost every cell, this changes the data structure ... larger project.
There the activation and use of 'long doubles' would be easier to implement?
... imho ...

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 141922] New: Back up File not Password Protected using Windows 10

2021-04-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=141922

Bug ID: 141922
Summary: Back up File not Password Protected using Windows 10
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.1.2.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: who...@hurontel.on.ca

Description:
Used Windows 10 "BU and Restore" to B/U Confidential Files to external Drive.
Discovered I could plug the external drive into another(wife's) computer and
OPEN any file (Read Only) without requiring to use the Password which was saved
with the file.
I was able to view/print/E Mail confidential information.
"File History" was enabled on Windows Back up and Restore could view them all.
The password seems only to prevent data destruction. Could be a MS problem ..I
let them know also . (Note I did not try to "Restore" the files just clicked on
them in "File History" on the external drive . CANT BE INTENTIONAL COULD
IT? Walter

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Back up Documents (Calc) to External Device use Windows 10 B/U and Restore
with File History Set to ON
2.Look for a Password Protected file on the external device
3.Click on it don't be surprised if it opens!

Actual Results:
Mine opened in Read Only

Expected Results:
I expected to still require the password

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Just Opened .. could see all the Data. Also could alter the settings to allow
changes.. couldn't overwrite the original file... that's all

The reason I have insistied on the status is that the closing did not follow
from actually addressing the issues raised - and it was a closure as NOTABUG.

I will not have a status-change-war over a WONTFIX - as it is your prerogative
rather than question of fact.

And just to be clear - I am appreciative of your time spent on reviewing and
commenting on bugs, even when I disagree vigorously.

136194_minimal.docx shows we import outline/chapter numbering completely
incorrectly in writerfilter. We have band-aids(plasters) everywhere, partially
covering a gaping wound.

When dealing with Heading 1 style, we get:
warn:legacy.osl:4046753:4046753:sw/source/core/txtnode/ndtxt.cxx:3887:
 - text node with outline style, but its paragraph
style is not assigned to outline style.
warn:legacy.osl:4046753:4046753:sw/source/core/doc/fmtcol.cxx:601:
 - misuse of method

But how to fix? Somehow Chapter Numbering should NEVER be set UNLESS we are
confident that LibreOffice saved the docx.

I think this would be: the numId == 1, and it is never used in direct
formatting, and only used in styles where outlineLevel == listLevel (although
examples show that listLevel seems to be optional :-()
It should be irrelevant what the name of the paragraph style is.
(.doc format already does outlineLevel == listLevel)

Crude bandaid patch found at http://gerrit.libreoffice.org/c/core/+/114681

Eyal, I think Design-Team should decide finally in one of the next meetings.
Since everybody can join it's meetings, everybody should accept the decision
then. Heiko, if you disagree, please add a comment.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 141920] New: Calculation formula crashed after entering $ for locked cell reference

2021-04-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=141920

Bug ID: 141920
Summary: Calculation formula crashed after entering $ for
locked cell reference
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.0.5.2 release
  Hardware: ARM
OS: Mac OS X (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: optimo65+li...@gmail.com

I assumed locking cell reference in a formula works similar way to Excel i.e.
entering '$' character to cell address' (for example '$C$2'). When I created a
formula, added those $-characters and hit enter, the whole LibreOffice crashed
immediately.

I'm using Macbook Air M1 with Big Sur 11.2.3

do not use scanline padding for computing vcl bitmap checksum

Double checked with git checkout HEAD~1 - when using the Skia backend the file
save was broken before this commit.

Thanks Luboš for fixing this one!

To fix this, go to Tools/Options/LO Calc/Calculate.
Put something else than "0" in Iterative References, eg: 0.001 or 0,001
(depending what's the separator for the decimal).

How did you generate this file? I mean if I use a brand new file, I can't put 0
and have this popup so the file can't be saved with 0.

Also in
Version: 7.1.0.0.alpha1+ (x64)
Build ID: a4d4ed86991e2901ac86189e95966d4e99be4944
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 6.3 Build 9600; UI render: default; VCL: win

pretty OK in
Version: 6.1.0.0.beta2+

CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 6.3; UI render: default;
Locale: nl-NL (nl_NL); Calc: CL

It's broken in
4.4.7.2 (similar to 7.1)

And again working as expected in
Versie: 4.2.0.4
Build ID: 05dceb5d363845f2cf968344d7adab8dcfb2ba71

So probably a change somewhere in between followed by a revert
