[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 144075] New: Fonts in interface and preferences are too small.
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=144075 Bug ID: 144075 Summary: Fonts in interface and preferences are too small. Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.1.4.2 release Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: UI Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: erw...@alumni.beloit.edu Description: Fonts in interface and preferences are too small. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open LibreOffice 2. Open Preferences. Look at the font sizes. 3. Open the Navigator. Look at the font sizes. 4. If you can read Preferences at all, try to switch the font sizes, maybe 20 or 30 points. Actual Results: 2. The fonts seem to be the standard recommended sizes, I have to get really close to the screen and squint to read anything. 3. Likewise. 4. Changing the font sizes does notyhing to change the font sizes. Expected Results: 2. The fonts should be a reasonable size. 3. Likewise. 4. Changuing the font size in the Preferences should change the font size throughout the user interface. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: I can't read About LibreOffice or copy and paste from there. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 144074] New: Cannot change order of layers in list in LibreOffice Draw
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=144074 Bug ID: 144074 Summary: Cannot change order of layers in list in LibreOffice Draw Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.1.4.2 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Mac OS X (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: LibreOffice Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: erw...@alumni.beloit.edu Description: I can't change the order of layers in LibreOffice Draw. Layout, Controls, Dimension Lines, etc. I created extra layers for some of my projects. Since 1. the layer labels are unreadably small, and 2. pasting to a locked layer screws everything up, I want to put the extra layers in the same order in each file. Note that this is not about the order of objects from front to back. This is about the order of layers from Layout to whatever I want to put on the right of that list. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create a Draw document. 2. Create 2 new layers. 3. Try to change the order of the layers in the list at the bottom. Actual Results: There's no clear way to change this, and looking online, there are a lot of irrelevant answers about how to change front to back order... and then explanations that there's no way to change list order. Expected Results: Being able to change list order. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: Now if it were possible to read the list, that might make it less important to reorder it. But the text is far too small, the text in Preferences is also far too small, and if I squnit I can find some Font options that do nothing... A can't read About LibreOffice or copy and paste from it. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

Yes even if we were to move to extension--the framework for the GUI to fully respond to our own themes would still be needed. Meaning, still fully appropriate for LO to provide its own light/dark theme support internally with no linkage to os/DE theme. Another example, the Notepad++ project folks just implemented a very nice Dark mode at their 8.1.3 release. Joining GIMPs UI themes (Dark, Grey, Light, & System) and Inkscape with its 'Use dark theme' setting for UI modes out of the box. LibreOffice Dark is a great start--we need to finish off the framework to fully specify the Application Colors with or without os/DE themeing. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131487] Words whose characters span multiple languages should not undergo spell checking
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131487 --- Comment #14 from sergio.calleg...@gmail.com --- I beg to disagree, for two reasons: 1. The first one is more of a technical one, and its practical importance is relative. In which dictionary should such a "bilingual" composite word go? Dictionaries in LibO are classified by language, so that a word marked as English will be sought in the English dictionaries, a word marked as Italian in the Italian ones, etc. At least in principle a bilingual composite word does not belong to any single-language dictionary. It is just by chance that currently LibO seeks words whose characters span multiple languages in the dictionary corresponding to the language of the first character (at least, I believe that this is the case). Hence, the choice of the specific custom dictionary where to put the word is non obvious. 2. The second reason has strong practical significance, IMHO. If you have to write something like "dell'Industrial Conference blah blah blah" the first "dell'Industrial" ends up as a bilingual word with an initial part written in Italian and a second part written in English. The reasons why you may want to mark its initial characters as Italian and the last ones as English are twofold. First of all, you want correct hypbenation rules to be applied to either part (I do not even know if this will work in LibO as of today, but looking forward it should). Secondly, it is desirable that if you end up changing the text so that the initial "dell'" goes away and you remain with the "Industrial", that bit is correctly interpreted as an English word. Now, if you take the pain to check the details above, I am pretty sure that you will be careful on this word, so that the spell checking will be more or less superfluous for the rare occurrences where it is encountered. In fact, the only thing you may want is for this word not to be marked as a mistake because false positives are distracting. The other way round, you certainly do not want to add something to your Italian dictionary so that any misspelled occurrence of "dell'Industriale" (a perfectly correct Italian construction) is passed as correct if you miss the last "e" in Industriale. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

In contrast to v:shape they are not contained in the 'style' attribute. It seems, that Word writes the size into attribute 'coordsize' in Twips. Position seems to be 0|0 in Word. Does Word write it to coordpos if it is not zero? Size is expected in maWidth and maHeight of maTypeModel, position in maLeft and maTop, all as string with unit. Well, this behaviour is a consequence of the bug #139918. If I set default system papersize to A4, your file opens in portrait A4. For me that means that LO does not see the page size in your file and use the default papersize instead. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 144064] New: UI for selecting slides in PRINTING confusing, effectively does not permit selection
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=144064 Bug ID: 144064 Summary: UI for selecting slides in PRINTING confusing, effectively does not permit selection Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.1.5.2 release Hardware: All OS: Mac OS X (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Impress Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: birnb...@posteo.de Description: Draw and Impress both support several slides which can be shown as miniatures, usually vertically on the left side of the drawing area. Control over which slides are printed is very poor. Some UI elements seem incorrectly wired up, others cannot be operated or are not working at all. In the "LibreOffice" section of the printing dialogue, there are three radio buttons for selecting what to print. Under these buttons are a text field and a drop down list. The list has no items to it and is thus not usable. The radio button options are these: * "all slides" --> works * "slides:" --> permits to edit the text field, but the information is disregarded. The first selected slide in the miniatures pane will be printed. * "selection" --> effects the same as "slides:", only without permitting editing the text field. The printing dialogue also supports a checkbox "print selection only" which toggles the radio buttons between the first and the third options. A first click on the box does not check it, but selects the third option. A second click does not change the selected radio button but checks the box. A third click unchecks the box and sets the radio button to the first option. NOTE: the OS section of the dialogue permits selecting a page range to print. This ticket is not about that section. However, the LibreOffice section of the dialogue is supposed to give more control which it does not. There seems to be no way to enter the pages to print in numerical format "1,3" or "7,2,15,8" or "1-2,4" or "1-4,5-7". Steps to Reproduce: 1. create or open multi slide document in Impress or Draw 2. select two slides in the miniature overview (adjacent or not) 3. open printing dialogue to print selected slide 4. check "print selection only" Actual Results: first selected page is printed Expected Results: selected pages are printed Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes Additional Info: Version: 7.1.5.2 / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 85f04e9f809797b8199d13c421bd8a2b025d52b5 CPU threads: 4; OS: Mac OS X 10.11.6; UI render: default; VCL: osx Locale: en-GB (de.UTF-8); UI: de-DE Calc: threaded -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

IME, this is useful for adding extra highlighting to text. Perhaps one option is to add the Glow property to the existing Graphic Styles > Shadowing tab; changing the tab name to "Shadow / Glow" or such like. This is one important aspect of localization, which in turn creates a better UX for users. In Mexico we use Letter instead of A4 as well.
