Excuse me, are you telling me that LibreOffice isn't tested until now on a Mac
OS? So, LibreOffice is in fact never truly made for Mac! Is there no developer
ho has a Mac to test LibreOffice? Last night I couldn't sleep of wat you have
written. I see two solutions now 1. Somebody is going to get a Mac and start
testing. Or 2. Remove the package of LibreOffice for Mac from the internet !!
No wonder that some bugs are remaining for years!
I am working with computer since 1977 and so far I didn't see an office-package
that has no bugs and no errors! Bravo people.

Alexander

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 144781] New: pdf import in draw has problems recognizing background and tick marks

2021-09-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=144781

Bug ID: 144781
Summary: pdf import in draw has problems recognizing background
and tick marks
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.2.1.1 rc
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Draw
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: testing1237...@yahoo.com

Description:
attached is a pdf file that opens fine in pdf viewers but in draw asks for a
password. if we ignore the error, the file does open in draw but the background
is all wrong, on original its all white but draw sees it as black but also, the
text formatting is wrong.
more troubling is that there are tick marks that are not recognized by draw. i
have attached pdf output from draw that show the difference.

this is different from previous similar bug that here the tick marks are not
recognized. rest of the issues are the same

Steps to Reproduce:
1. open file in draw
2. ignore password.
3. check draw rendering with normal pdf viewer rending.
4. check if tick marks exists or not.
5. export to pdf and compare input and output pdf.

Actual Results:
pdf rending is wrong but more importantly, tick marks are absent

Expected Results:
tick marks should render in draw, in draw pdf output just like in input file

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Dear Nick Levinson,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Dear Robert Großkopf,

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 144780] New: Anti-aliasing ON + No Transparency + Custom page size = line right and bottom of PNG draw exports

2021-09-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=144780

Bug ID: 144780
Summary: Anti-aliasing ON + No Transparency + Custom page size
= line right and bottom of PNG draw exports
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.2.1.1 rc
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Draw
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: xordevore...@gmail.com

Description:
If I have anti-aliasing on and I enter a custom page size for a drawing
document with no margins when I don't export using transparency, then white /
anti-aliased to white lines appear right and bottom of any PNG export.

If I export using transparency, it's okay.

THE PROBLEM with exporting with transparency is that nothing on a master page
in Windows LO Draw shows up. It's an unfortunate either-or situation:

a. Don't export with transparency and have items on master pages export
b. Export with transparency and no items on master pages export

SO there's two different problems.

The first problem with transparency / no master was reported here
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=123973

The second problem is what I'm reporting today with the lines right and bottom
of the export based on non-standard page dimensions (the destination program
I'm using that consumes what I'm exporting from LO Draw wants 2048x2048 pixels
EXACTLY which LO draw produces if the dimensions are 21.33″x21.33″).

Even the slightest deviation from standard page dimensions causes the bug which
I've included in the steps to reproduce.

I am not convinced that the bug I'm reporting today is the same as this bug
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117160 because that bug had
more to do with SKIA / hardware acceleration only rather than
anti-aliasing+weird page dimensions.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Launch LO Draw in Microsoft Windows
2. Assure that anti-aliasing in on in Options (Options / General / View)
3. Set the page margins to None
4. Set the page dimensions to something other than default (11x8.5 to 11x8.6)
5. Set the background color of the page to black
6. Export to PNG (no transparency option selected, interlacing irrelevant)
7. Observe the exported PNG right and bottom edges

Actual Results:
A white line (or a line anti-aliased to alpha which appears white) shows up
right and bottom of the exported PNG.

Expected Results:
There should never be any artifacts on the PNG export.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Justin, it seems that I owe you a sincere apology. I was struggling to learn
the whole styles method of creating documents and must have somehow changed
that level 3 left outline list margin setting inadvertently because I have no
recollection of having done so (it was after all a fairly short test document
that I created specifically to follow along with a LO Writer Styles video
tutorial). I was aware from my reading of the manual that direct formatting
takes precedence, which makes sense, but I did not think I had changed any
settings directly. I made use of the Style Inspector and noticed what you did,
but I could not find a way to manually change the errant margin setting, and
since everything in the Bullets & Numbering dialog looked correct (except as
noted), I presumed there was indeed a bug.

You were also correct in that the problem did NOT exhibit itself in a new
document, which I am absolutely certain I tried before writing this bug report
to verify my bug assumption, but alas a new document today works fine. Not sure
why, but obviously it’s either something I did (if you make a mistake once, you
are apt to make the same mistake again moments later due to muscle memory) or
it’s this touchy Asus keyboard once again having a mind of it’s own.

(In reply to Andreas Heinisch from comment #7)

Your analysis is completely correct. It's OK to use doubles; doubles allow to
work with integers up to 2^52. The problem is in conversion to string. And we
*badly* need an accurate method for that.

Unfortunately, conversion of double to string is a difficult thing, affected by
multitude of factors like decimal/thousand separators, national numerals, and
so on. So there's no function in STL that would fit our variety of different
needs perfectly.

But myftoa looks a candidate for eradication. It's simple enough that
rtl_math_doubleToString could replace (and then we would deal with one less
imperfect implementations).

Please keep the issue clean of unrelated subjective stuff.

LOL. Have you tried to look at *your* file? Let me show it - on the attached
screenshot. Look at the heights of the rows 1048565 to 1048576 (last 12 rows)
vs the rows above? *This* is what *you* did (and you *definitely*) had set the
height manually, at least for the million+ rows 1048564 and above. How that
happened is what only you can tell.

> Or why do I get "asian" or "complex" styles?

Because every style includes full definition that allows you to type *any*
character into the cell having this style; and for ODF, that means that to type
an Asian character, LibreOffice would need to use a different font. That you
didn't enable display of those settings doesn't mean that LibreOffice should
save incomplete styles, making *your* file behave differently in two your
friends both typing Chinese characters, simply because they would use some
different defaults because your file didn't explicitly specify what to use for
Asian text.

This is prefectly OK.

> Or fonts that are never used?

A style that is defined in your file is the *content* of the file, even if you
didn't apply it to anything.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 143974] Basic function CStr is failing to properly convert integers after 41 steps in a for loop

2021-09-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=143974

Consider this small snippet:

Sub Main

  i = 44
  MsgBox TypeName(i) ' prints integer
  i = i + 1
  MsgBox TypeName(i) ' prints double

End Sub

Because of [1], but the calculations are correct (the variable contains
47.000). However, the homebrew myftoa in [2] imho does not
correctly calculate the desired precision. I even missed some precision scaling
in [3] for Bug 107953.

Mike what is your opinion about a fix for this problem? Can this be addressed
using the rtl_math_doubleToString as in Bug 130725?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 144778] New: Exported epub file will not pass validation.

2021-09-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=144778

Bug ID: 144778
Summary: Exported epub file will not pass validation.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.2.1.1 rc
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: l...@higbie.name

Description:
Many (probably most) e-book wholesalers and retailers require that epub files
pass validation. Exporting a reasonably complex document produces scores of
errors and even my simple documents do not validate.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open or create a document
2. Select Export As > Export as EPUB...
3. Select Version EPUB 2.0
4. Click OK

Actual Results:
With a trivially small file, the validator produces:
ERROR: D:\Documents\Working
Files\EpubTest.epub/OEBPS/sections/section0001.xhtml(2): element "title" from
namespace "http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml; not allowed in this context

ERROR: D:\Documents\Working
Files\EpubTest.epub/OEBPS/sections/section0001.xhtml(2): element "title" from
namespace "http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml; not allowed in this context

Check finished with warnings or errors!

Expected Results:
The epub file should pass validation so it can be sold through normal retail
outlets, not just distributed to friends.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
The contents of the document that produced the errors above was:
Test epub export from LibreOffice. I will export this and run the exported
version through the “Discovery ePub Validator 1.0” from
http://www.ebook-tool.com.

Goodguy00, thank you for reporting the bug. I'm not sure, if I grasp the
problem. I've treid the following steps:

1. Open a new document
2. Type a sentence, for example "This is a test"
3. Change paragraph style, for example select "Heading 1"
4. Open Style inspector; Character direct formatting has only list ID as entry
5. Select "is" and write "was"

Actual result:
Character direct formatting has a lot of entries

Expected result
No further entries (works in this way with default paragraph style)

Consider this code where the index starts from 42:

Sub Main

For i = 42 To 50
Txt = Txt + CStr(i)
If (i mod 10 = 0) Then
Txt = Txt + CHR(10)
Else
Txt = Txt + ", "
End If
Msgbox Typename(i)
Next i
MsgBox Txt
End Sub

The first time, the index is an Integer and after the increment it is a double,
hence this error. The fix of Bug 107953 made it visible, but I think the
culprit is https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/c/core/+/104696 (Bug 85371).

Calc's countifs() is almost 3 times slower than its Excel counterpart, even
though Excel does not benefit from OpenCL. It would be greatly appreciated if
the algorithm can be tuned to extract even better performance than Excel since
Excel lacks GPU acceleration.

Ok I tested a bit more and it seems that the icon set I am using (Breeze Dark)
is more problematic than others. Since the icons are so light, they become
invisible or very hard to see in the sidebar. I tried with other icon sets,
including Sifr Dark and visibility is not an issue.

If the sidebar is not themed by design, then Breeze Dark needs to be modified
in order to be visible on the side bar.

Saving last choices I guess could be an enhancement. I set New so far, unless
explained it's not feasible.

One issue per bug. Second request seems to be covered by bug 47890.

I can reproduce this to stable and master build. But not sure if it is by
design. However I can see all the icons as expected in the dark theme mode.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 144776] New: Is there any way to save a solver model in Calc?

2021-09-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=144776

Bug ID: 144776
Summary: Is there any way to save a solver model in Calc?
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.4.7.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: pszab...@gmail.com

Description:
The single most irritating aspect of the LP feature in Calc is its inability to
save the model that I built. Specifically, data on the cells used as the
objective function, constraints and variables is lost when the spreadsheet is
reloaded.
I’ve known this problem for a while now, and know that there won’t be any
straightforward way of saving the model, either through the extension options
or Calc’s save function. All I want to know is if there’s any sane way to store
the model in any sort of persistent data such that, upon restart, opening the
model will result in the cells previously input to still be there.

Actual Results:
Inability to save the model that I built in Solver.

Expected Results:
I would like to be able to save the model for reuse.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
none

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 143221] Menu/Toolbar entry to show hidden character

2021-09-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=143221

(In reply to Justin L from comment #7)
> I just tried a search of the help (LO 7.1) for "hidden" and "hide". It seems
> to be documented fairly well already.

As my comments #0 and #2 already said, hidden characters could provide more
than additional formatting marks!

But in facts of documentation take this simple use case:
1. A new LO user write some text, choose "Format"->"Character..." and than
"Hidden"
Two effects can apply:
2.a Formatting marks aren't enabled and the selected characters turns actually
hidden:
-> the user is satisfied and continue his work, using LO help only to learn
how to uncover the hidden characters
2.b Formatting marks are enabled and the characters are still visible after
editing:
-> the user doesn't consult the documentation but turns disappointed by taking
the behavior as a bug

I don't thing any user aspect hidden characters to be bound to formatting
marks, especially not users who are aware of hidden cells in e.g. MS Excel. But
as I already said, hidden characters should become much more than additional
formatting marks!

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 135683] FILEOPEN DOCX: Somewhat slow opening of document containing a 222 pages table

2021-09-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=135683

Noting that one reason this is still slow is because this document has invalid
(overlapping) redlines, which forces the code to fall back to a slower search
algorithm

> problems for other software!

There was exactly *no* repetition, the data was defined in non-redundant way,
providing the reference for different styles (referenced by table:style-name
attributes) only as needed.

If a user has created elements having different styles in the very last rows of
the sheet, it's not the software's task to discard that data.
