Mark as a duplicate of bug 146221.

I had a discussion with "dongshili", and we both get empty import result on
Windows when using the Data > XML Source function.

Do you mean check box as in special characters [1] or as known from forms. The
latter might be somewhat difficult to handle due to positioning, complex
attributes, design mode etc.

For the ToC you may use index entries, an user-defined index and spacial
characters right out of the box. But I don't see the benefit here.

Heiko as far as I can see, style inspector always displays styles and direct
formatting for the current cursor position. So selection of text has no effect.
I haven't checked, if there is a lack of information in documentation. Perhaps
we can change tooltip to "Style Inspector at current cursor position" to make
it more clear.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 91766] Automatic language detection for spell checking

2021-12-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=91766

--- Comment #19 from Mike Kaganski  ---
There is a feature in LibreOffice to use system input language to set language
of typed text. It is implemented currently on Windows and on Qt5 (bug 108151).
Where it is implemented, it is a reliable and unambiguous feature, making use
of input switch performed by user. That is widely used by any user who uses
keyboard layouts that require switching (e.g., bilinguals using a Cyrillic and
Latin alphabets) - they have keyboard shortcuts like Shift+Alt in muscle
memory. But those who typically use same layout roe different languages (Roman
languages), often don't even know that such a feature exists, and for them,
some magic is expected detecting that their one-character "a" is in some
specific language.

We already have a "magic" "detecting" possible language of a text, that works
when you work with Tools->Language menu, and also when you have a spellcheck
error. The list of offered languages is created based on statistical
fingerprint heuristics, and we already have multiple bugs showing how
unreliable and random that detection is (see e.g. bug 139185 comment 4).

I would think that implementing this proposal is only reliably possible by
employing mind-reading elf farm serving requests from LibreOffice in real time.

OTOH, skipping spell check for such cases, which do not explicitly mark words
as excluded from spell check, would introduce a danger of unnoticed spelling
errors, exactly the thing that spell check should assist in preventing.

Do I understand it right, that the request is *not* about separators, but about
handling of *any* sequence of characters that are detected as "word" for
purposes of spell checking, and that contain a mix of characters having
*different* language property set? E.g., I might type a single "International",
but assign Italian to its "Inter" part, and English to "national". Is it about
this general case?

If so, it is a perfectly reasonable request IMO, regardless of possible
improvements in word separation procedure.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 146219] New: Startup and Exit of the application is very slow when the "Recent Document" list contains remove files

2021-12-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=146219

Bug ID: 146219
   Summary: Startup and Exit of the application is very slow when
the "Recent Document" list contains remove files
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.4.0.0 alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: suokunl...@126.com

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Start up LibreOffice.

The Start Centre opens. It would be quite fast if the Recent Documents list
does not contain remote files.

2. Now, open a remote file with LibreOffice.

I open a remote file stored on my Nextcloud instance from the File Manager. The
folder was mounted in the Gnome Files (e.g. Nautilus) and I opened the file
there.

This file may be opened quite slow, provided that it is remote, but this is not
the problem. The problem for this bug report is in step 3.

3. Quit LibreOffice, and then startup LibreOffice again, through the desktop
application icon.

---> Here is the problem: LibreOffice startup becomes very slow, and also slow
when you click the close button of the application.

Current Result:
Slow in step 3, both at startup and when you try to close the application.
Of course, the workaround is either disconnect your network, or remove those
Remote files from the Recent Documents list, or reset your libreoffice user
profile.

Expected:
Startup should be fast, the same as if there is no remote files in the Recent
Documents list.

If the blink functionality is to be retained in CALC, would it be worth

I would certainly use it as a means of drawing attention to pre-defined

2021-12-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=146218

Bug ID: 146218
   Summary: FILEOPEN Duplicated text boxes in attached Keynote
   Product: Document Liberation Project
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: libetonyek
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: ba...@caesar.elte.hu

Created attachment 176918
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=176918=edit
Sample Keynote

The attached file was created based on the Quote layout of Keynote's templates,
with the sample text replaced.

In LO both the original and the replaced text are shown.

The background image is also missing. Considering bug 128560 comment 4, I'm not
sure what a realistic expectation would be, I wonder if a lower quality image
exists in the file that could be used as bacground.

Observed using LO 7.4.0.0.alpha0+ (d47628f287f4377394c4ff488c433bfe254b6abe) /
Ubuntu.

Dear Michael Fiedler,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

--- Comment #2 from Wim M  ---
I can confirm that this has also been happening for me on the most recent
versions of LO, at least all release versions in the 7.2.x line.

Typical behaviour will be that when I return from sleep or after a period of
inactivity, I need to Force Quit LO Writer in order to restart it. Focusing on
the app gives a spinning beachball. It does not happen all the time, but it
does happen almost every time. It's also more likely to happen when the system
has been asleep longer.

My current install:

Version: 7.2.4.1 / LibreOffice Community

Caolán: according to https://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/system-requirements/,
LO needs Gnome 3.18 min so according to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GNOME
which has been released in September 2015.
The change on e_book_client_connect_direct_sync quoted by the reporter is in
2015 too.

Should we change our interface? Should we use some preprocessor ifdef ? Other?

Also I noticed in connectivity/source/drivers/evoab2/EApi.cxx
 23 static const char *eBookLibNames[] = {
 24 "libebook-1.2.so.20", // evolution-data-server 3.33.2+
 25 "libebook-1.2.so.19", // evolution-data-server 3.24+
 26 "libebook-1.2.so.16",
 27 "libebook-1.2.so.15",
 28 "libebook-1.2.so.14", // bumped again (evolution-3.6)
 29 "libebook-1.2.so.13", // bumped again (evolution-3.4)
 30 "libebook-1.2.so.12", // bumped again
 31 "libebook-1.2.so.10", // bumped again
 32 "libebook-1.2.so.9",  // evolution-2.8

 34 "libebook-1.2.so.3",  // evolution-2.2
 35 "libebook.so.8"   // evolution-2.0
 36 };

Do we need to keep all of these?

2021-12-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=146217

Bug ID: 146217
   Summary: Snap: Failed to load module "canberra-gtk-module"
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.2.3.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: barg.jul...@gmail.com

When starting a libreoffice program from the terminal, this error message is
printed to the console:

Gtk-Message: 15:49:43.561: Failed to load module "canberra-gtk-module"
Gtk-Message: 15:49:43.563: Failed to load module "canberra-gtk-module"

I tested it for both libreoffice.writer and libreoffice.impress. Steps to
reproduce:

1. Install libreoffice via snap, e.g., ```snap install libreoffice```
2. Launch a program from the libreoffice suite from the terminal, e.g.,
```libreoffice.writer```
The libcanberra-gtk3-module and libcanberra-gtk-module are installed on my
system.
How are you bringing up the scrollbars for the slide/page preview?
Default profile opens both the Impress slide pane and the Draw page pane
without the scrollbars.  If I shrink the vertical size of the app frame I can
expose the vertical scrollbar--but I cannot expose the horizontal scroll bar as
the minimum width of the slide/page preview pane can not be reduced narrower
than fully showing the slides. Even with the vertical scroll bar the slides are
reduced the extra width needed to hold the scrollbar.
But Checkboxes are more than a list style. In markdown at github you can check
I would like to see the following items within LibreOffice:
1. easier use of checkboxes
   md use - [] and a checkbox was auto generated, this would be cool to use
also within LibO (AutoCorrect)
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 94731] Look of square/quadratic gradient changed
2021-12-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=94731
--- Comment #9 from Regina Henschel  ---
The problem has been discussed in the ODF TC,
https://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/office/202112/msg00029.html
The ODF TC sees differences in all application and considers to add further
attributes to allow applications to draw the gradient as they used to do.
Open question is for example, whether the area of the gradient is related to
the rectangle given by the svg:width and svg:height attributes or is related to
the bounding rectangle of the shape.
The old, version 3.5, way of drawing gradient "Gradient 4" of the example
document, that has in file the attribute draw:style="square", is wrong. A
square is defined to have same length for width and height and that is not the
case in the old way of rendering. The new way has a square, but it does not
follow the specification [1], that the _minimum_ of width and height has to be
used as size.
The way of drawing gradient "Gradient 5" of the example document, that has in
file the attribute draw:style="rectangular", is wrong too. According
specification the gradient ends in the center given by draw:cx and draw:cy.
That means that the gradient ends in a _point_, but in LibreOffice it ends in a
line segment.
[1]
https://docs.oasis-open.org/office/OpenDocument/v1.3/os/part3-schema/OpenDocument-v1.3-os-part3-schema.html#__RefHeading__1417216_253892949
Next step is to discuss, which kinds of gradient LibreOffice really wants and
which additional attributes in file format are needed to describe the desired
gradients unmistakably.
