2021-12-31 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=129714

Dear Bernard,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://web.libera.chat/?settings=#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 128907] Support for Hancom Office File Format (HWP)

2021-12-31 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=128907

I have filed ID 144747 because LO displays garbage when opening hwp files which
it purportedly supports. That bug report and this one are essentially after the
same thing, to be able to open hwp (Hangul Word Documents) in LO. Hangul Word
is used widely withing the Korean government and academia as well as being
widely used in offices and privately. The inability to open, write and edit
this file format leaves out a large majority of Korean speakers from
communicating with the rest of the world. Since the number of Korean speakers
is similar if not greater than the number of French speakers in the world it
would seem this ability to read and write hwp files is needed.

For me, in practical terms, when I get correspondence from a Korean speaker I
usually have to ask them to convert hwp to docx since Hangul Word can do that.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 146505] New: Extruded facets of 3D shape are not specular

2021-12-31 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=146505

Bug ID: 146505
Summary: Extruded facets of 3D shape are not specular
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: Inherited From OOo
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Draw
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: rb.hensc...@t-online.de

Created attachment 177228
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=177228=edit
90deg rotated 3D scene with extruded object

Open attached document. It contains a scene with an extruded circle. The scene
is rotated by 90deg so that you look onto the extruded facets and do not see
front or back face. The light direction is centered and same as you view
direction.

Open the '3D Effects' dialog page 'Shading'. Change Shading to 'Flat' (don't
forget to click on Assign). Notice the specular rendering of the center facets.
Change Shading to 'Phong'. You see the light as specular spot light. Change to
'Gouraud'. No specular light.

Expected: The facets are specular as in mode 'Flat', only that the transition
between neighbored facets is not sharp but smooth.

The facets of a rotation object are specular in mode 'Gouraud', similar to mode
'Flat'.

It seems, that 'Gouraud' uses for extruded shapes the normal of the front face
instead of the facets.

I come across this problem, because Word exports extruded custom shapes with
shade mode 'Gouraud' to odt. And because extruded custom shapes use the same 3D
engine than regular 3D shapes, the specular light is missing for those shapes
too.

Thank you for sharing your LibreOffice Draw user interface experience.

We have already bug 56498 with some discussions about handling layers. Please
consider the bugs too, which are listed in section 'See also' there.

And we have a collection of layer related suggestions in bug 99648.

It is difficult to work with reports, which cover several different topics.
Your proposal is about management of layers and about extending search to
consider layers. Because we have already some requests for improving the
management of layers, this report should focus on 'extend search to consider
layers'.

In case you agree, please change the subject line accordingly.

Please have a look at the bugs listed in bug 99648 and/or bug 56498, whether
they already cover your ideas for better management of layers. If not, please
write a second report for such layer management suggestions from you, which are
really new.

On Win10 with master sources updated today, I could reproduce this.
For a reason I ignore, I fail to retrieve a bt on Windbg.

(never know if I must attach to simpress.exe, soffice.exe or soffice.bin).
When attaching to soffice.bin, it hangs,
when attaching to soffice.exe, it crashes/aborts and proposes to Ignore, retry
or abandon, I think I tested the 3 and never got a stacktrace with !analyze -v

Comparison of the behavior in LO 7.1.5 and 7.2.4

I'm pretty sure this is the same bug as the one I submitted.

I hope it is helpful and not presumptuous to add here the video that I made
comparing the selection behaviors in LO 7.1.5 (which worked correctly) and in
LO 7.2.4 (which broke it somehow). A reversion to the behavior in 7.1.5 is
needed. Thank you.

I think there has been a misunderstanding about the bug here. The issue is not
the directionality of selecting mixed LTR/RTL text. That continues to work
fine. Rather than reiterating the problem, however, it seems that this bug is
indeed identical with
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=144890 and is laid out very
clearly in h.rosemarin's comment there:
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=144890#c6

I will attach a video comparing the behavior in LO 7.1.5 and LO 7.2.4.1 to show
the problem.

AFAIK this is currently explicitly not supported. The low-level INetURLObject
schemes disable it in tools/source/fsys/urlobj.cxx. This results in other bugs,
like bug 143216.

Quoting from the comment in https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/c/core/+/124987

"The original "Uniform Resource
Locators (URL)" (on which our INetURLObject was traditionally based) did not
allow for any user:password@ part in http URLs (see section 3.3 "HTTP"). And
while harmonization and generalization of URL schemes would allow that now, the
reference (as per
)
 "HTTP
Semantics" section 4.2.4 "Deprecation of userinfo in http(s) URIs" states that
such a part is (a) deprecated, (b) must not be generated by senders, and (c)
should be treated as an error by receivers. In light of that, I would argue
against extending INetURLObject to support such a part in http and/or https
URLs. (For example, it could mean that we would accidentally start to generate
such URLs in certain request scenarios, which we must not do.)"

So I guess this is currently a WONTFIX.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 146502] New: EDITING In LO Base manually set column formats for tables are erroneously reset to defaults

2021-12-31 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=146502

Bug ID: 146502
Summary: EDITING In LO Base manually set column formats for
tables are erroneously reset to defaults
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: medium
 Component: Base
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: paul.w...@gmx.com

Description:
I have a database for family history that has some dates recorded under the
Julian calendar. In a form many of these dates cannot be entered as
date fields because forms limit dates to a minimum year of 1600. To get around
this restriction I followed the advice of Ratslinger in

https://ask.libreoffice.org/t/can-i-input-a-date-earlier-than-year-1583-in-lo-base-and-calc/22408

and changed my forms for inputting and updating dates to treat the fields as
text data rather than dates. I also changed the format of the
columns in my tables and views to my preferred format, -MM-DD.

This scheme works as long as the column formats in tables and views remain
-MM-DD. The problem is that every so often some column
formats are reset to MM/DD/YY.

I am at a loss to predict when or explain why the column formats will change or
which ones will change. Every time I execute LO I examine all the date columns
in my tables and views to make sure they are still -MM-DD and change them
back as necessary. The formats can remain -MM-DD for several days before
they are reset. Some days a few formats change. Some days many columns change.
Sometimes the column widths also change and sometimes they don't. In a table
with two date columns I have seen one column change and the other column not
change.

One trigger for changing most if not all column formats seems to be updating a
view -- any view. Other than that the resets seem random.

My preferred solution to this problem is to remove the minimum minimum date
restriction of year 1600 in the forms property window so that I can
display/alter date fields as dates and not be dependent on the current format
for a date column treated as text.

A minimum minimum year of 1600 seems arbitrary as it is unrelated to any
change in calendars and the places the calendars were adopted. For example,
although the Gregorian calendar was introduced in 1582 it was not universally
adopted at that time. England and its colonies did not adopt it until 1752.
(See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gregorian_calendar) Thus, many of the events
in the history of the American colonies occurred under the Julian calendar.
There are even a few places in the world where it is still used.

Nor is the minimum minimum date related to a limitation in SQL. The minimum
date in SQL seems to be 0001-01-01.

It is unclear what evil LO is trying to prevent with the 1600 cutoff. The
cutoff applies first to those designing forms and only secondly to end users of
the forms. Designers of forms should be given credit to know the range of dates
the forms will be processing and how to deal with the possibility of
non-Gregorian dates. If dates under the Julian calendar are needed and the
difference is important, designers can add a field to identify such a date and
make the appropriate adjustments. As a practical matter for my application the
difference between an early date under the Gregorian calendar and one under the
Julian calendar is very often not important since so many dates are merely
estimates or are only known to the year, not including month and day.

Moreover, the restriction on minimum dates is entirely pointless when it is so
easily circumvented by the scheme described above -- as long as the scheme
works, that is.

Another solution would be to change the forms designer properties window to add
"Standard (ISO 8601)" to the list of format options for representing dates (the
list currently includes things like "Standard (short)", "Standard (long)"...)
then document that ISO 8601 envisions all dates as being under the Gregorian
calendar, including proleptic dates.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.As stated, problem seems random
2.Create a table with a date column
3.Set column format to -MM-DD
4.Wait a few days?

Actual Results:
Column format changes to MM/DD/YY

Expected Results:
Column format remains -MM-DD

Reproducible: Sometimes

User Profile Reset: No

I am in favour of changing the way the Object Catalog behaves.
In fact the best thing would be if the Object Catalog persisted in all cases.
It should never act on its own opening and closing sub folders.
It should even remember its place when the Libre Office component is closed and
opened again.

Ok. I ran Writer in Safe Mode and opened an earlier "corrupt" copy of the file.
I went to a couple of images in the table cells and resized them. After
resizing the second image Writer stopped responding. This was the docx version.

I did the same, running in Safe Mode for the ODT version and that also crashed.

The wiki states that if the error still persists then the profile is not at

I don't know how to do a screencast I am sorry. Also, I tried using a temporary
profile to the wiki instructions and as my bug report states, the reset did not
work. Incidentally, what I didn't mention is the document is being saved as a
Microsoft Word docx file. I could try saving as an open document and when
finalised convert to docx, that might solve the issue? Although the publisher
requires the article to be in M. S. Word format.

I can send the offending document but you should be aware it is a yet to be
release article for a publication and should not be passed to any other person
and used, copied, transmitted or passed for others to read without my
permission. I have now overwritten the offending document by copying and
pasting it into a new one and so far it is responding correctly but as I have
done this now several times previously, it will eventually fail after which any
further editing will result in a crash. Please do not close this ticket as I
suspect that as I add and edit more over the next few days the crash will occur
again.

Let me know if you would like me to send the document and thank you for your
quick response.

I have attached a screenshot of the PDF Options used to export the document.
If you could share settings that you are using to perform the export, that

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 146500] New: Writer crash when entering a paragraph break or carriage return

2021-12-31 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=146500

Bug ID: 146500
Summary: Writer crash when entering a paragraph break or
carriage return
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.2.4.1 release
  Hardware: Other
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: andrew.t.fin...@hotmail.com

Description:
It involves a document for an article written for inclusion in a specialist
magazine. The document contains a mixture on written text, some italicised and
some normal text. The text is either in the open part of the document or in
table cells along with graphics in adjoining cells. It appears that any
additional tables, graphics and text combination added results in Writer
crashing when later entering a paragraph break or carriage return.

Using recovery following a forced shutdown does not clear the problem. A
temporary solution is to Copy then Paste the whole document into a fresh
instance of a Writer document.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Insert a table. 2 columns x 1 row will do.
2.Enter text in one cell and a graphic in the adjoining cell.
3.Expand on the text with a carriage return.(Will occur in open part of doc
too)
4.Enter text under graphic and centre it.
5.Exit the table and enter more text in the body of the document and test for
crash.
6. If crash doesn't occur then go into one of the table cells with text and
expand on it.
7. If crash then doesn't occur, go into a cell with graphic and add or edit
text under graphic.

Actual Results:
1.Insert a table. 2 columns x 1 row will do.
2.Enter text in one cell and a graphic in the adjoining cell.
3.Expand on the text with a carriage return.(Will occur in open part of doc
too)
4.Enter text under graphic and centre it.
5.Exit the table and enter more text in the body of the document and test for
crash.
6. If crash doesn't occur then go into one of the table cells with text and
expand on it.
7. If crash then doesn't occur, go into a cell with graphic and add or edit
text under graphic.

Expected Results:
Writer's top info bar shows the text (Not Responding) and the Oozlem bird
swirling cursor appears. It stays like that until a forced shutdown of Writer.

Should have carried on responding and accepted further user input.

Reproducible: Sometimes

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 146498] New: Python user macros do not refresh when code is edited in an imported module

2021-12-31 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=146498

Bug ID: 146498
Summary: Python user macros do not refresh when code is edited
in an imported module
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.2.4.1 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: bjrawlin...@gmail.com

Description:
If I create a python macro in the user scripts directory that imports codefrom
another module, the first time it is run I get the expected result.

However if I modify the referenced module's code the "old" code still runs;
even if I delete the __pycache__ directory between running. I assume the code
is being cached elsewhere?

Steps to Reproduce:
1. create a python file ~/config/libreoffice/4/user/Scripts/python/testmacro.py

import anothermodule

def set_some_text():
doc = XSCRIPTCONTEXT.getDocument()
oSheets = doc.getSheets()
sSheet = doc.getCurrentController().getActiveSheet()
activeCell = doc.getCurrentSelection()
activeCell.setString(anothermodule.get_something())

2. create a python file
~/config/libreoffice/4/user/Scripts/python/pythonpath/anothermodule.py

def get_something():
return "A"

3. Open Calc and run the macro "set_some_text". The letter A should appear.

4. Modify the anothermodule.py file and change to:

def get_something():
return "B"

5. Open Calc and run the macro "set_some_text". I would expect the letter "B"
to appear but it will instead set the cell to "A" still.

Actual Results:
"A" is set in the ActiveCell after changing anothermodule.py

Expected Results:
"B" is set in the ActiveCell

Reproducible: Always

This bug was filed from the crash reporting server and is
br-79bc34af-4664-4da2-a5cb-fb870435ff85.
=
It appears to be related to but not identical to other crash reports generated
from my PC where I have removed or inserted rows into autofiltered arrays.
In this instance, I neither inserted nor deleted but I did filter and sort two
different arrays.
One array I simply overtyped amendments into the presented SORTED and filtered
array.
With the second array, I ended up with four items (of3500). I edited one and
cut and pasted it to its "neighbour".
I did not "drag" copy.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 144890] RTL

2021-12-31 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=144890

The other bug report (Bug 146154) is indeed very similar.
You should note that there are two different issues:
1. the way highlighting changes direction with the direction of the text
2. the fact that ltr selection in mixed direction paragraph (starting with rtl
text) caused an inverted selection to appear - all the document except the
needed selection

in Bug 146154 the last comment refers to issue #1 stating that it is NOTABUG,
which is correct, at least partially. you can see in the video (or try for
yourself in the attached document) that when selecting continuously it is not
working correctly. when the cursor reaches the rtl text, the entire rtl text is
selected, and as the selection progresses the highlighting disappears
(inverted) until, finally, when the entire rtl text is selected - it is
highlighted again. this is indeed a bug.

as for issue # 2, it is definitely a bug, and a very annoying one. it is
extremely hard to edit mixed direction text (as are most academic manuscripts)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 146496] New: WEBSERVICE function doesn't forward urls in form: http://[user]:[port]@[server]:[port]/[endpoint]

2021-12-31 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=146496

Bug ID: 146496
Summary: WEBSERVICE function doesn't forward urls in form:
http://[user]:[port]@[server]:[port]/[endpoint]
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.2.3.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: klemen.zivko...@gmail.com

WEBSERVICE function doesn't forward urls in form:
http://[user]:[port]@[server]:[port]/[endpoint] to destination server.

If I ommit [user]:[port]@ libreoffice WEBSERVICE function opens url.

Allowing calling urls in form:
http://[user]:[port]@[server]:[port]/[endpoint]

would allow us to add authorization to urls, since there is no way to specify
http headers in WEBSERVICE call.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 146495] FORMATTING: Text gets duplicated when importing pdf

2021-12-31 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=146495

>> I've noticed that Kicad has two ways of exporting to pdf.
>What's the difference?

The first method, the one that doesn't cause problem, is to simply print a page
directly through a printer or to a pdf.
The other one (the one that fails to import in Draw) is supposed to generate
the files you send to a PCB manufacturer in a specific file format, but it also
can output pdf. This pdf contains the text as actual text that you can select
in any pdf viewer. That's the only difference that you can easily see AFAIK.

Is clear in what way? It actually gives you access to all the characters of the

Thank you for your suggestion.
cc: Design-Team

My opinion: I think "Special character" is clear and so I won't support this
idea.
Perhaps there could be some improvements around the name "Formatting Marks"
(see also bug 127954).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 146154] Wrong amount of selected text is highlighted in mixed LTR/RTL text

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=146154

Dieter changed:

 Resolution|--- |NOTABUG

I confirm the behaviour, but I don't think it's a bug. For me selection follows
some clear rules (They become mor visible, if you use arrows for text
selecting:

After the last character of LTR-text (space) the first character of RTL-text is
selected (מ), then all other characters are selected from right to left. Comma
is first character of left to right text.

So basic rule is: direction of selection follows direction of text. This sounds
logic to me. If it doesn't appear in previous versions I would consider
behaviour in previous versions as bug and actual behaviour as improvement.

So for me NOTABUG. but feel free to change it back to UNCONFIRMED with a short
resoning, if you disagree.

Please add your comment to bug 137269. Bug is still open, so it's obvious, that
solution in comment 5 of that bug is not a general solution.
