LO about setting "Not larger than page area: Automatically adjusts the height
of the footnote area depending on the number of footnotes." Description is not
very clear, but since it is about footnote area and not footnote itself, i
don't think it's a bug, but i'm not sure. Could you provide a sample document?
And please describe waht should happen, if there is not enought space for the
footnote on one page.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 146422] Default footnote numbering in a multipage document

2022-01-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=146422

I'd recommend marking this one as NOTABUG.

> [...]
> Open any book.
> There are rarely more than three footnotes on one page and they are
> designated by the numbers 1, 2, 3.

You may want to follow your own advice... and open more books.

Most footnotes are numbered:

- per chapter
- per book

And like raal said, there's a dialog which allows you to choose between any and
all options:

- Tools > Footnotes and Endnotes

If you wanted to change the defaults for your own documents, then I'd recommend
creating a Template file.

For more information on that, read "Chapter 10: Working with Templates" in the
LibreOffice Writer User Guide.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 146811] New: COUNTIF(...; "") does not count empty string formula results

2022-01-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=146811

Bug ID: 146811
Summary: COUNTIF(...; "") does not count empty string formula
results
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.0.3 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: mikekagan...@hotmail.com
CC: er...@redhat.com

Make sure to *disable* Options->Calc->Calculate->Search criteria "=" and "<>"
must apply to whole cells.

Put this formula in A1:

 =""

Put this formula in B1:

 =COUNTIF(A1:A10; "")

The observed result in B1 is 9, but is expected to be 10. Note that the result
of '=COUNTIF(A1:A10; "=")' using comparator *is* expected to be 9, and it is OK
in Calc. See COUNTIF documentation [1], and Criterion documentation [2] (the
criterion "" matches the "Other Text value" clause there).

It shows the expected 10 when 'Search criteria "=" and "<>" must apply to whole
cells' is enabled; this option corresponds to OpenFormula's
'HOST-SEARCH-CRITERIA-MUST-APPLY-TO-WHOLE-CELL'; but it is unexpected that
matching empty string against whole cell value would match, while it wouldn't
for the same cell when not applying the criterion to whole cell.

A note: Excel 2016 gives 10; that would correspond to
'HOST-SEARCH-CRITERIA-MUST-APPLY-TO-WHOLE-CELL' enabled, so not directly
applicable as an argument. Rather, the problem here is that enabling
HOST-SEARCH-CRITERIA-MUST-APPLY-TO-WHOLE-CELL must give a strict *subset* of
matches when HOST-SEARCH-CRITERIA-MUST-APPLY-TO-WHOLE-CELL is disabled.

Description:
Different Generator Fuel Type Which Is Right for You

The genset are very important as they are helpful at the time of powercuts and
black outs. They are normally designed for ensuring that the user is always
connected to the electricity. It signifies that no matter what power failure
you may experience you will always be able to charge your phone, work on your
laptops, access to fridge and refrigerators, air conditioners, etc. You will
always having a power backup just like your power banks when you want the
charger. The best part is that one can also leave the house with the Genset
appliances and their wont be any harm or danger. As it can be set to regulate
the voltage of the electricity in the house. Gensets are extremely important in
factories, organizations and even hospitals as they never let any big loss
occur.

These gensets are normally designed as per the customer’s need and atmosphere
or you may say the desired location.

For more information click here https://Ablesales.com.au. The different types
of fuels for gensets are as follows:

Gasoline Generator
The generators using gasoline fuel
(https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/small-biz/productline/power-generation/petrol-generator-ideal-gensets-as-gasoline-is-easily-available-across-country/articleshow/69321082.cms)
normally are considered as frequently used genset and are also very famous. The
best part is that to make it more easier the gasoline fuel is available at a
very lesser cost then the rest of gensets. However, because these gasoline fuel
needs the power for pumping that’s why it is not available through black outs.
These generators are available in smaller bodies which are great in
transportation as it is highly flammable. When the gasoline fuel is stored than
it can stay for not more than twelve months that’s why it is costlier than
other fuels such as diesel and bio gas. This fuel emit great levels of
pollution, so it will not last very long and also not useful for winter season.

Propane Gas Generator
The best part about propane is that it has a much lasting life if compared to
other kinds of fuels. This propane gas is good for the storage no matter in
what quantity so this is best option for black outs. This gas emits very less
pollution plus the "wet stacking" that is more seen with the generators of
diesel. This genset normally are inexpensive plus very long lasting. This
propane gas begins very smoothly at winter weather so the workings don’t get
hampered. It does not make any sounds but however if it is put under a lot of
pressure then there is a risk of catching fire.

Diesel Generator
This kind of fuel is the favourite one for genset as it is the lowest in
accordance to flammability if compared to other fuels. It is also available
widely just like gasoline. If they are given good maintenance then the
efficiency of the workings go great. Normally it is found people who get the
service on time their genset is long lasting no matter how heavy the usage is.
These generators are less costly in the operations if we compare to others.
Also in various states and countries the government has declared a proper
allowance for buying this diesel at less rate of taxations. In some cases it is
free of tax. Furthermore, this type of fuel is great specifically during the
winter season, they would not take much time to get started. One must take care
as it has a store of about one year only, so it must not be stored in larger
capacities.

Emulsified Diesel Generator
This kind of diesel is a blend with fuel plus water that has acted as a agent
for mixing together. Also the pros and cons of this type of diesel is that it
produces very less pollutants plus uses minimum resources than regular diesel.
Emulsified diesel have almost two year life if it is maintained properly by
following necessary instructions. One should also be careful of not working at
difficult atmosphere.

Bio Diesel Generator
The bio diesel get created by combining diesel with more bio-products like fats
and oils extracted by nature. It has many pros and cons just like regular
diesel fuel, but it has many benefits to the nature. As it leads to low
consumption of nonrenewable resources plus emits much low damage. In comparison
to the normal diesel you can consider it as a nature loving fuel as it wont
harm the nature. Although it do make sounds when used in gensets. This diesel
gives good storage of about two years, just in worst scenarios like black outs
there would be chances of some

it can stay for not more than twelve months that’s why it is costlier than
other fuels such as diesel and bio gas.

This diesel
gives good storage of about two years, just in worst scenarios like black outs
there would be chances of some minor

Dear Jean-Baptiste Faure,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Bug ID: 146807
Summary: LibreOffice: The program crashes when we call the
FrameLoader.loadComponentFromURL method
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.0.0.3 release
  Hardware: x86 (IA32)

 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org

We are usingthe UNO library to edit template in LibreOffice in .NET 4.7.1. The
existing implementation was developed using LibreOffice 6.4.4. With this
version this worked without any problems. Likewise with version 7.0.0. With
version 7.1.7 the problem described could be reproduced. The assumption is that
this problem exists as of version 7.1.0.

var vDoc = _config.FrameLoader.loadComponentFromURL(urlTemplate, "_top", 0,
null);
_config.UpdateFrame(this.Info, vDoc);

The following points must be observed when using or checking the current
LibreOffice version (currently 7.2.4 x86)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 146804] New: FILESAVE Dashed lines do not export properly to EPS file

2022-01-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=146804

Bug ID: 146804
Summary: FILESAVE Dashed lines do not export properly to EPS
file
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.1.8.1 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: moosedroo...@yahoo.com

Description:
When drawing a dashed line in either impress or draw and attempting an export
to an EPS file, the exported .eps file is written with a meaningless value for
the PostScript dash pattern, resulting in a line that essentially appears as a
solid line in a Postscript viewer.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. In either impress or draw, create a new document, draw a line, and set the
line type to anything like 'dash', 'shortdash', 'longdash' etc.
2. Export the document to an EPS file
3. View the EPS file in any PS viewer or import into a Latex document

Actual Results:
The exported graphics appears with the line essentially solid. In the exported
EPS file the line dash pattern is set with a Postscript command '[ 2 ] 0 ld'.
(The string 'ld' has been bound to the native Postscript command 'setdash'.)
The matrix argument '[ 2 ]' is supposed to specify the line length intervals of
the on and off dash pattern. In the coordinate system a length of 2 is an
absurdly short distance, and results in the line appearing as solid. The same
argument is supplied no matter what libreoffice line type is set on the line.

Expected Results:
The Postscript argument to 'setdash' should be a matrix with a pattern of
meaningful lengths, like 100, 200, whatever, and have various patterns
according to the line type selected in libreoffice, so that the line appears in
the Postscript image with the same dash pattern as in the libreoffice document.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
A workaround is to manually edit the exported Postscript file before importing
into Latex and making the matrix argument '[ 200 ]'. This will appear as at
least a simple dashed line with some reasonable intervals.

The text boxes paragraph style is now tud-brief_fussleiste with 7 pt Univers 45
Light font instead of Frame Contents style with 12 pt TNR font.

The text is not positioned correctly relative to the wheelchair image because
of bug 146803 - manually changing the spacing makes it look much more similar
to the Word layout.

Minimized example file

Attached document was minimized from attachment 96245 and has a grouped shape
with internal text box borders defined.
These are read/applied incorrectly to the grouped shapes and that makes their
text not fit in them.

1, Open attached file, notice the texts are flowing out of the squares
2, Right click the group and choose Ungroup
3, Select a square with text and choose Format - Text box and Shape - Text
Attributes
4, Compare Spacing to Borders to Word values

Expected: all 4 borders should be 0,04 cm and all text should fit

Actual: borders are 0,25 cm left/right and 0,13 cm top/bottom.

On Windows you can use the system tool "Math Input Panel" from the "Windows
Accessories". When the formaul is in the clipboard by this tool, use in modul
MATH the item "Import MathML from Clipboard" in menu Tools.

The mentioned "Freehand Formula Entry System" cannot be used by LibreOffice
because "GNU Public License (Version 2)" is an incompatible license.
LibreOffice can use "Mozilla Public License, v. 2.0." or "Apache License,

Which format do you use for saving?

If you use odt, please go to Tools > Options > Load/Save > General. "ODF 1.2"
does not have this 'contextual spacing'. You need "ODF 1.2 extended" or any of
"ODF 1.3".

It is always good to attach a small document, which shows the error.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 146801] New: LibreOffice 7.3.0.2 Apple Arm - no Java functionality (Regression)

2022-01-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=146801

Bug ID: 146801
Summary: LibreOffice 7.3.0.2 Apple Arm - no Java functionality
(Regression)
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: ARM
OS: macOS (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: fuchs_fr...@freenet.de

With the new RC2 of LibreOffice 7.3.0 (7.3.0.2), Java on macOS ARM is gone,
i.e. it is no longer shown / selectable in the LibreOffice settings.
In 7.3.0.1 you could select it.

macOS 12.1 on MacBook Pro 16" with M1 Max
Oracle JDK for macOS ARM (not the Intel version), Version 17.0.1

I am opening a new bug for this, since Alex Thurgood asked me to.

Confirming, now I cannot reproduce it with:

Version: 7.4.0.0.alpha0+ / LibreOffice Community

There was indeed a change after 2018 (providing that I didn't mess up
information in my comment from that time:))

I can reproduce in:

Version: 7.2.5.2 (x64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 499f9727c189e6ef3471021d6132d4c694f357e5

Locale: en-US (en_US); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

After Step 3, LibreOffice uses a full core + has a loading bar with "Load
Document" which barely moves.

(I waited for more than 2 minutes, and LibreOffice was just stuck with a white
"frozen" screen.)

Note: I'm attaching your document to Bugzilla.
