--- Comment #6 from Commit Notification
 ---
Jim Raykowski committed a patch related to this issue.
It has been pushed to "libreoffice-7-3":

https://git.libreoffice.org/core/commit/5247e5e254632e111bbdb798ee1c714c0c9ebde8

tdf#140222 make InterimTearableParent docking windows not dockable

It will be available in 7.3.3.

The patch should be included in the daily builds available at
https://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/ in the next 24-48 hours. More
information about daily builds can be found at:
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Testing_Daily_Builds

Affected users are encouraged to test the fix and report feedback.

I’d like to propose a middle ground between Jean-François’ and Stuart’s
positions: a very subtle version of Variation 1. I don’t think it would be out
of place in a world that thankfully is starting to wake up from the mistake
Flat Design was.

BTW, this reminds me of this old whiteboard:

Are you sure that’s the correct Unicode encoding? You seem to be using a
combining character, and any misalignment is simply caused by individual fonts
lacking anchors for positioning (which would make this issue “NOTOURBUG”).
Still, we can improve the situation a bit by upgrading our copy of HarfBuzz.

These are huge undertakings and individual projects on their own, which merit
separate discussions, rationales and planning. (I am quite fond of the Start
Center one — Poedit and Xcode have implemented similar UIs to what you are
proposing.)

I think your ideas are valid, but need fleshing out in individual enhancement
requests; therefore I’m closing this bug as it doesn’t conform to the “one bug
per request” principle :)

Please do feel free to develop these ideas in a personal page (i.e. user
subpage) at wiki.documentfoundation.org; once they’re ready, file new bugs for
each (instead of one ticket attempting to track everything). Oh, and of course
do continue to interact with the Design Team on Telegram/IRC.

Thanks!

I have been getting this for a while in writer with LO 7.2.5.1 on OpenSUSE Leap
15.3.
Click the mouse out of the document and back in and presto the cursor is back
at the mouse. I have this occur after various edit functions (select and
delete, style update) but it is not 100% reproducible. I also suspect there is
some effect from having multiple writer docs open for edit at one time. With
one document open yesterday it didn't happen, today with 3 documents open it
happened every 30-60s while editing.

There are a couple of other places. When clicking on the dropdown button for
font selection, it changes to the wrong color. Also the weird sidebar at the
right also has some wrong colors. But the ribbon UI is indeed the worst
offender.

I've attached screenshots of the examples. Note that this time I was in dark
mode and switched to light mode. So all the dark parts are wrong.

Bug ID: 147976
Summary: Can't select multiple items in Navigator
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.4.0.0 alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: eyalr...@gmx.com
Blocks: 103030

I have a document with a lot of irrelevant bookmarks I need to delete. I can
see them all in Navigator, but - I can't select multiple bookmarks at once to
delete them. And - it's the same for most (all?) other categories of items in
the Navigator tree.

Since the tree can be used not just for navigation but also for deletion, we
should be allowed a selection of multiple items. At the very least - multiple
sibling items of the same category.

Creating a new "database", i get a similar splash. I am running Apache2 web
services, but no OO pkgs.

The Base database table is a tab in an .ods spreadsheet in both the original
and the new test instance. ... Different spreadsheets, not the same one. Both
display fine if opened from the Tables section of the Base program.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 147974] New: Status "NEW":Writer has an issue with multiple .csv address book data source connections

2022-03-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=147974

Bug ID: 147974
Summary: Status "NEW":Writer has an issue with multiple .csv
address book data source connections
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.1.8.1 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: farfenoo...@outlook.com

Description:
I have a .csv file that contains 26 fields of mixed data. If I open two files
(letter with 5 fields pulled from csv file, and an envelope with 6 fields) the
first file will print. If the 1st file remains open, the 2nd file will print.
If the 1st file is closed after printing, the 2nd file no longer sees the data
connection. Closing and reopening Writer seems to correct the issue.
I can provide the documents if needed.
Thank you.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open 2 documents.
2. Print 1st document.
3. Close 1st document.
4. Print 2nd document.
5. 2nd doc can't see data source
4. Close Writer and reopen.
5. Open and print 2nd doc.
6. It works.

Actual Results:
It worked

Expected Results:
Each file should see the data connection independently.

The font’s baseline should be displayed underlying the current character’s
preview, to see where the inserted character will sit on the line of text.

This baseline could be drawn semi-transparently, using the highlight color
(please no black/white), as it shouldn’t visually compete with the previewed
character itself.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 147680] Autotext replacement not willing to ignore space after shortcut

2022-03-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=147680

(In reply to Dieter from comment #1)
> I confirm that behaviour, but for me it is expected behaviour, because - for
> example - there is an autotext for "DT", but not for "DT ".

It is very common for someone to press the space key at the end of the word,
and only then to press the F3 to change the autotext. I believe it is extremely
uncommon for someone to use an autotext identifier ending in space; in fact, I
challenge you to find a single example of an identifier being in use for
autotext both with a trailing space and without it.

> Perhaps it's an enhancement request.

The default behavior should most certainly be ignoring a trailing space. I
don't actually believe what you described is your expected behavior, in the
sense that I'm assuming you don't actually have any autotext identifier ending
with space; which means that if you do ever press D3 after "DT ", it is only
because you want the "DT" autotext and not for another reason. Or maybe this is
a moot point, since you never press F3 after a space character? Correct me if
I'm wrong.

Ok I got the same Java version.

Just for the test, could you try to create a brand new file with just a table
and a report?
The goal is to know if the pb is triggered because of installed components on
your machine and it's specific to this odb file.

(also, I suppose you don't have Apache OpenOffice in // or other LO packages
via flatpack or anything).
