https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=146323 --- Comment #7 from Mike Kaganski --- I'd say this should be a WONTFIX. The general rule is "save as close to the document model as possible. This means that adding stuff not present in model is a no-go. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 149778] New: Hyperlinks in comments need to flow as they do in Writer paragraphs
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=149778 Bug ID: 149778 Summary: Hyperlinks in comments need to flow as they do in Writer paragraphs Product: LibreOffice Version: Inherited From OOo Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: rafael.palma.l...@gmail.com Created attachment 181020 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=181020=edit ODT file showing the problem Suppose you have a very long hyperlink in a paragraph in a Writer document. It will flow naturally and be marked as a hyperlink, which is the expected behavior. However, if the same link is pasted inside a comment box, it will not flow and it will be written in a single line that is wider than the comment box itself, which makes it impossible to read the comment. The expected behavior would be that the comment flow inside the comment box as it does in a Writer paragraph. Steps to reproduce: 1) Open the attached ODT file 2) See the hyperlink in the text (a paragraph). It flows naturally, as expected. 3) The same link is pasted in a comment box. It does not flow and it is not possible to read it AFAIK this is inherited from OO. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 149617] French UI: "Area Style / Filling" dropdown list has multiple translation issues
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=149617 --- Comment #10 from Julien Nabet --- (In reply to Regina Henschel from comment #9) > "Image" is not too general. A background fill can be a raster graphic or a > vector graphic. To me, "picture" means the same as "photo", and that would > be far too limited for background fill. I would use "image". You're right I interpret too "picture" as "photo" so "raster image". I thought we could only use "raster image" but since we can also use "vectorial image", let's stick to "Image" which corresponds to both types. Re reading the Powerpoint link, they support only raster images, at least on some "web support" case: "PowerPoint for the web supports the following picture formats: .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .gif, .bmp, .wmf, .emf, .tif, and .tiff." So indeed we should stick to "Image". The string is in svx/source/tbxctrls/itemwin.cxx: 544 #define RID_SVXSTR_BITMAP NC_("RID_SVXSTR_BITMAP", "Bitmap") See https://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/include/svx/strings.hrc?r=ecfb1335#544 I suppose we may just change this but to avoid confusion, it may be relevant to change RID_SVXSTR_BITMAP into RID_SVXSTR_IMAGE git grep -n RID_SVXSTR_BITMAP include/svx/strings.hrc:544:#define RID_SVXSTR_BITMAP NC_("RID_SVXSTR_BITMAP", "Bitmap") svx/source/tbxctrls/itemwin.cxx:181: rListBox.append_text(SvxResId(RID_SVXSTR_BITMAP)); svx/source/xoutdev/xattr.cxx:1785:pId = RID_SVXSTR_BITMAP; last one contains: 1784 case drawing::FillStyle_BITMAP: 1785 pId = RID_SVXSTR_BITMAP; and this "FillStyle_BITMAP" is quite used and related to vars like "XML_BITMAP" or "CTF_FILLBITMAPNAME" so again "BITMAP" pattern in string name... About "Bitmap", do we consider it became a kind of generic term equivalent to "raster image"? Just my personal opinion but "Bitmap" is one of a format of "raster image", so would prefer "raster image". At least people won't believe they can't use png files. Of course 2 pbs here: - it's a bit long - not sure any casual user knows the signification of "raster" So I took a look what Microsoft used in Powerpoint and read this link: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/change-the-background-of-your-slides-in-powerpoint-for-the-web-6927cd06-5a5b-483e-9d98-6e270df45700 It seems they chose "Picture", IHMO a good choice since: - it's not too long - everybody understands - rather implies raster In brief: - Image: too generic - Bitmap: too much related to the format - Raster image: too long and not understandable for everyone - Picture: don't see cons here only advantages :-) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 149764] user-defined rows by columns (RxC, 2RxC/2, 4RxC/4, 8RxC/8, 16CxC/16)
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=149764 --- Comment #2 from Pierre Fortin --- I don't understand "n x m" -- are you implying this feature is already available? If so, I haven't found it... We have lots of data which produces 5M to 12M+ rows by up to 90-100 columns. Calc only allows 1M rows; so our data doesn't fit. I'm proposing a way to re-arrange the same 1Billion cells into different configurations so that we can use more of the available cells. Currently, we're using up to 100 columns which means 90%+ of the available cells can't be used. I should mention that my team uses filters extensively, so breaking up say 90 columns into multiple sheets (or multiple sets of columns on the same sheet) doesn't help. If this feature was available; we would likely leave Calc set to 16M rows by 128 columns. I am proposing a more universal Calc. Even more universal would also allow R/2x2C, R/4x4C, ... :) Even better, in a multi-sheet file, we could use: sheet1: 8RxC/8 or 16RxC/16 sheet2: RxC or another. ... If the total file size was limited to max 1B cells; that would be adequate... It's the current fixed 1Mx1024 that restricts us. Hope this helps... -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

Create a new file Hit save, file dialog defaults to Documents directory, on hitting "Save" → macOS should prompt and ask whether to grant LibreOffice permission to access the Documents folder → approve and LO should save successfully. → new documents should be saved to documents folder without a second prompt Use Save as (or just create another document, doesn't make a difference) and select the Desktop folder in the file selector, on hitting "save" → macOS should prompt and ask whether to grant LibreOffice permission to the Desktop folder → approve and LO should save successfully → further saves to the Desktop shouldn't trigger the prompt close LibreOffice and install the languagepack launch LibreOffice again and now shoud come up in translated form saving documents to desktop or documents folder shouldn't trigger a prompt and work B) install the languagepack without launching LibreOffice first → after hitting "install" in the languagepack installer it should trigger launching LO and the gatekeeper should prompt asking whether you want to launch LibreOffice approve and the languagepack installation should continue B.1) after languagepack installation is complete, LO shoud still run, close and restart to use it in the new locale creating documents and saving them should work as above, first time you try to access Documents or Desktop you get the permission prompt, subsequent ones should work without interruption. B.2) after languagepack isntallation create a document in the still-running English LO and save should get the prompts as expected and save works. after relaunching to switch to the new UI language saving should work without additional prompts. For those using homebrew, the mechanism is specific, bugtracker is about installing from dmg. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 149772] New: LibreOffice appears to be saving MS-Office files with the wrong date/time
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=149772 Bug ID: 149772 Summary: LibreOffice appears to be saving MS-Office files with the wrong date/time Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.3.3.2 release Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: colin...@hotmail.com Description: I am using LibreOffice 7.3.4.2. Today I noticed that if I save a version of an MS-Office file (e.g. xslx, docx), the time/date stamp does not change. If I save a new version, it assigns the correct date, but incorrect time (I am on EST and it assigned a time 4 hours earlier). It correctly notes the time if I save with LibreOffice extensions (e.g. ods, odt). This occurred in both Writer and Calc. Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open a LibreOffice file (or a MS-Office file in LibreOffice) 2.Save as MS-Office file 3.Check the timestamp Actual Results: Date/Timestamp did not change, or was assigned wrong if this is the first save. Expected Results: Date/Time stamp should have updated Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes Additional Info: Version: 7.3.4.2 (x64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 728fec16bd5f605073805c3c9e7c4212a0120dc5 CPU threads: 16; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19044; UI render: default; VCL: win Locale: en-US (en_US); UI: en-US Calc: CL -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 149763] Lots of Spaces get suppressed, when a Paragraph mark is added after this Sample
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=149763 --- Comment #5 from Adalbert Hanßen --- I had marked this bug as resolved because it circumvents my problem. But that was probably a bit early: Deleting spaces and tabs at the start or end of a line/paragraph seems to work only under special circumstances and under other circumstances it does not work: Especially it seems to quit its work when a paragraph spans a paragraph in which it would otherwise start working, as my attachment shows. Therefore I set this bug report back to unconfirmed, although my problem got solved by Telesto's comment. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 89131] UI Control spin button for number of heading rows in dialog Insert Table is not working

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 94661] FORMATTING: In table of contents, page number is not aligned right when automatic numbering is removed
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=94661 --- Comment #15 from Milan Bouchet-Valat --- I still see the incorrect alignment of the page number on the "Introduction" line on 7.3.1.3. After all this time I don't remember what I did and why (this is a simplified example from a more complex document). And it's indeed probably low priority. But I fail to see how the fact that the page number isn't aligned on the right could be considered as not being a bug.
