fixed. Please test it with a daily build from

2022-08-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=150564

Bug ID: 150564
Summary: Background color of drop down menus change after
resume
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.4.0.3 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: psudrum...@gmail.com

Description:
After a Windows 10 session is resumed after having locked the display (or
sleep), the backgrounds of drop down menus changes color from the original.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Start Libreoffice
2.Select a menu bar item (such as File). Drop down menu appears as normal.
3.Lock display
4.Resume display
5.Select a menu bar item. Color of background of drop down menu is changed (in
my case the menu is rendered nearly unreadable).

Actual Results:
Color of background of menu bar is changed from what it should be.

Expected Results:
Color of background of menu bar is the same as when program was launched.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 150563] New: Table jumps between pages when moving cursor

2022-08-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=150563

Bug ID: 150563
Summary: Table jumps between pages when moving cursor
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.2.7.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: mcians...@gmail.com

I have a document with 8 pages normally, composed of very long table(s). (I
didn't actually make the template, so I am not sure how many tables there are
in it). The last page has a single cell of the table (it is very long), but the
page before that has 9 rows of the table. When I click on the long cell on the
last page, it splits the 9 rows onto 2 pages such that the first 6 rows are on
one page and the remaining 3 are on a new page (giving 9 total pages then).
Then, if I click the cursor back into the table that split into either the 6th
row on page 7 or in the 7th row that is now on page 8, the table recombines
onto a single page again. Clicking in the 9th row also causes the table to
split like this.

I would expect the table to always be formatted correctly and not jump between
pages depending on which cell is clicked on.

I have a document I am reliably able to reproduce this on both 7.2.7.2 and
7.3.4.2, but it contains information that I do not want publicly disclosed on
the bug tracker. I am willing to send it to a developer to work with if they
require it though.

That's how so-called "new style" (or "interface-based") service declarations
came about (that start with "service SomwService: XSomeInterface" in UNOIDL),
to distinguish them from the somewhat ill-conceived "old-style" (or
"accumulation-based") service declarations (that start with "service
SomeService {" in UNOIDL). See

You probably have a broken installation. Try uninstalling and reinstalling
LibreOffice to see if the problem persists.

Your problem may also be related to bug 119408.

I don't know which Linux distro you're using but you could try downloading the
binaries distributed by the LibreOffice website (deb and rpm available).

Inserting Many Rows in calc with a simple procedure, ie. in the insert row
menu/icon/context menu item a No. of rows field shall be added and on entering
the number and clicking some Ok Button or so, that number of rows should be
inserted.

As of now, suppose we have to copy 2000 lines the data from some other
spreadsheet file, we have to painfully, drag 2000 lines and then right click
the row and select the insert above or below option. Instead of that what I
suggest is to select a row --> right click --> enter number of rows in a field
(it should be default to 1) --> then our present option ie Above or Below -->
finish it.

Inserting 2000 lines is truly a tedious process now.

libavahi-client.so.3 => not found

Do these need to be part of the installation package(s) ? Or are they in a
package that I don't have / missed / forgot / otherwise didn't install?

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Run the command soffice MyPptFile.pptx

Actual Results:
Program displays a pop-up error. When the error is acknowledged, the program
exits.

Expected Results:
The program would open and display my file.

Reproducible: Always

I’m fixing this by making the check boxes a tri-state one and defaulting to
indeterminate state (for OpenType, in Graphite we can query the font about the
default state).

This might be a bit blunt, but it is the future-proof option. The other option
is to have a fixed list of on by default feature and set the check box state
based on it, and set any unknown feature to indeterminate state, though this
feels rather inconsistent.

I can reproduce this issue with

Version: 7.3.5.2 / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 30(Build:2)
CPU threads: 12; OS: Linux 5.15; UI render: default; VCL: kf5 (cairo+xcb)
Locale: pt-BR (pt_BR.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Ubuntu package version: 1:7.3.5-0ubuntu0.22.04.1
Calc: threaded

It seems the borders in attachment #174555 are indeed too faint considering
that they are using 0% transparency. Opening the same file in 7.2.7 results in
a shadow that IMO is more coherent with 0% transparency.

This issue is also reproducible in:

Version: 7.5.0.0.alpha0+ / LibreOffice Community

IIUC, the menu does not list last used languages, or even languages used in the

Wonder if the menu lists a) the languages used in the document or b) what has
been used in the current session. The first makes more sense and speaks against
remembering the last used languages. In case of b) we could indeed have some
persistence.

Checking with v7.3 it seems to be a fact, resolving WFM. Please reopen in case
this is wrong.

Answering myself: Benefit of =GETPIVOTDATA("";A1) over =A1 is clearly to
keep the value even when the table changes. Plus, it educates the users to use
the right functions.

So let's do it.

After reading this again I presume it's about inserting a Calc sheet as object.
Don't see how we can solve it.

If we talk about Writer tables, example in comment 5 after rotating to
portrait, I'd say the dialog offers sufficient means to change the table width.
Wouldn't add means to deal with content out of the canvas.

But again what kind of table do you have in mind?

It's a problem because we try to give API and ABI stability guarantees for the
published URE interface. 3rd-party (extension) developers rely on that
interface not changing in ways that would require them to rewrite or even
rebuild their code in order to keep it working with newer versions of LO.

If you wanted to start a discussion, it would probably have been better to
start it on some channel like the libreoff...@lists.freedesktop.org mailing
list.

Confirmed that it also hangs in OOo 3.2.0.
