Dear Rpnpif,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

details of the problem have changed.

- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

The problem does not seem to have been "solved" from the time of this older bug
report??

I just checked "The proposed solution is to make File > Properties > General >
Filename editable. "

And in Properties >General there is no option to make "Filename editable"???

It's a cumbersome state of affairs as it is in LO writer to this day. "Rename
file" does not seem to "rename" the old file but "saves as" to a file that is
then not opened or receives edits??? Even with "save as" at least the new doc
is opened and edits are made in it, etc.

Reproduced in 7.0.6.2 (font transparency was introduced in 7.0) and a recent

changes the font colour to White. Setting it back to Automatic removes the
transparency.
Not specific to styles, can be tested in the Character formatting dialog too.

2023-09-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=157070

Bug ID: 157070
Summary: Enormous fuzzy clone cursor with High-DPI display
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 24.2.0.0 alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: jim.av...@gmail.com

Description:
When the clone-formatting (brush) icon is clicked the cursor changes to a paint

2. Click the "clone formatting" paintbrush icon

Actual Results:
Cursor changes to a gigantic fuzzy bucket image

cloned character formatting to certain characters)

Reproducible: Always

4.Open the sidebar menu, and select the properties tab.
5.Expand "Cell Appearance" menu.

Actual Results:
The border selection editing grid is not visible. However, it will be with any
Yaru icon option...

Expected Results:
The border selection editing grid should be visible, as it is with the Yaru
icon packages.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
By bring up the side bar menu to see the grid icon, and having the icon package
menu open, you can simply select an icon set, select apply, and see that Yaru
is the only set which will display this feature.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 139985] Problem with rept() in combination with randbetween.nv()

2023-09-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=139985

There is one additional POV for this report; which is the possible need/desire
to recalculate RANDBETWEEN.NV() only once when the file is loaded (or for
whichever event the function is normally recalculated), and _then_ recalculate
any dependent cells.

I guess that such approach would make this an enhancement request for some
additional option or some kind of new variant on RANDBETWEEN.NVxx().

OTOH, RANDBETWEEN() _is_ a volatile function, so you might just use that
instead of RANDBETWEEN.NV().

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 139985] Problem with rept() in combination with randbetween.nv()

2023-09-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=139985

NOW() is a volatile function; REPT() is not.

RANDBETWEEN.NV() is not a volatile function either, but it is recalculated
under certain circumstances such as when opening the file (see help content).

You could modify menu Tools > Options > LibreOffice Calc > Formula >
Recalculation on File Load, or manually use Data > Calculate > Recalculate Hard
([CTRL]+[SHIFT]+[F9]), but these might not be enough when sharing the file.

Or instead of
=REPT("a";B1)

...you add some volatile function. For instance (just as a generic example):
=REPT("a";B1)(NOW())

If you have to use this method on multiple cells, you could have:
C1: =T(NOW())
A1: =REPT("a";B1)&$C$1

...and re-use "&$C$1" (or "+$C$1" on numeric functions/cells) on each relevant
cell.

These methods would force the recalculation on that/those specific cell(s).

Each alternative has its own pros and cons.

Another possibility would be to use the RANDBETWEEN.NV() function as the second
argument of REPT(), but that would be only useful when there are no other cells
that would need to depend on the same resulting value of the same
RANDBETWEEN.NV() function. When multiple cells must depend on the _same_ result
of the RANDBETWEEN.NV() function, this alternative would not be a valid
approach.

The description in comment 0 is not easy to understand. I guess that when you
refer to "menu →" you mean the Formatting toolbar (not a menu).

There are several ways to modify cell's borders. For example (among others),
select the cell, menu Format > Cells (or [CTRL]+[1]), click on the Borders tab
and modify the settings as you need.

Having said that, this is not a support forum, and comment 0 seems more a
question rather than a bug report or enhancement request.

Please next time go first to https://ask.libreoffice.org and make sure there is
really a bug to report. Or read the Help content, or the Manual, or send an
email to the users mailing list and wait for feedback, or...

For now, I am closing this report. If there is really a bug to report, please
feel free to reopen and provide clear steps, actual results and expected
results.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 157068] New: can't draw cell borders with table tool

2023-09-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=157068

Bug ID: 157068
Summary: can't draw cell borders with table tool
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.5.3.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: mixa...@gmail.com

Description:
when using the borders/borders-style tool, it is not possible to change the
inner border in the table

Steps to Reproduce:
1. menu → border-style → solid ( we chose border )
2. sheet → click in a cell ( С3 )
3. menu → borders → outer-border-only ( С3 now has border, from all sides )
4. sheet → click in a cell ( С4 )
5. menu → borders → outer-border-only ( С3,C4 now has border, from all sides )
6. ( between С3 and C4 → border )

7a. can't make border between cells different from "outer-border-only" ( if I
select this item in the menu → menu → border-style → dotted ) using standard
items from menu..

7b. if you first select the border, then the fill goes from all sides..

7c. many different bad choices.. you can draw C4 → border-style → dotted (from
all sides). choose B4/D4/C5 → mare border on one side only (outer-border-only)
, but this only works in this example, and not in a really large table..

Actual Results:
too many actions, and does not work with large tables where many cells are
close (if some of the cells are merged - even worse)

Expected Results:
I apologize for comparing your product with others (but it will be more clear),
there is such a tool as a pencil/pen, which draws a border near the cell. do
not trace the cell around the perimeter cell! but by pointing with a pencil/pen
- indicate and draw (between which cells), where to put the border
(pre-selected in the menu). if there is such a tool, but I did not find it,
please indicate how to find/use it

Export by default to PDF as tagged PDF landed in 7.6.0 with backport to 7.5.3

Adjust your the export to PDF dialog and uncheck 'Tagged PDF (add document
structure)' and reexport.

Should take care of most size issues, though the PDF export filter has
additional changes at 7.6 beyond tagged export by default. With some
adjustments already in place in master against a 24.2.0 release (for bug
157028) which you may want to test as well.

OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: non.spac...@gmail.com

Description:
I was working with LO Writer yesterday to write a "letter to Editor" type of
document in Pop!_OS . . . I simply wanted to change the file name, rather than
"save as" into a new file. I used the right click on doc to "rename" the
document, which, rather than "renaming" the original document, "saved it as"
another document. I didn't realize that and continued to make edits in what I
thought would be the "renamed" document . . . it wasn't until I checked the new
file to confirm edits made, that I saw that the new doc contained **some** of
the edits, but not all of them. The old file name had the edits???

Had to manually go back and re-re-edit the new file to get them all in.

Actual Results:
"renaming" file acted like "save as" and created new file, but did not put
edits made in the new file.

Expected Results:
File would be "renamed" and edits made would be included in it.

Reproducible: Didn't try

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
File should "rename" the file and make edits in that file.

The OP was a bit muddled. However issue is valid.

IIUC there is an sw editshell issue in defining/identifying the sentence / next
sentence break iterators. [1]

That is one facet, and affects selection (i.e. bug 147828, bug 125174).

But also there is an issue that when previous paragraph ends with an undetected
sentence, such that the following paragraph does not trigger the
Auto-Correction "Capitalize first letter of every sentence" action. That seems
wrong as well.

Phew not a great situation. Thanks for taking the time to respond so

Since no work to improve the editor is on the horizon lets close as wontfix.

If circumstances change and more development time is allocated in direction of

Certainly there needs to be some sort of frame around the document to separate

thinner while on the android viewer the fame is really thick. Maybe that grey

large quantity?

OS: Windows (All)

Description:
After starting the PC with Windows OS, the first LibreOffice window is
positioned too high, the symbol to change it's size can not be reached and the
window can not be moved down. The LibreOffice window was maximized when used
last time. I need to reduce the monitor resolution in Windows to move and
change the size of the LibreOffice window.

In Firebird Base when opening forms, the form is in a too large window. The
form window is positioned too high, so the symbol to change it's size can not
be reached and it can not be moved down. I must right click the window, then
choose maximize, then I can move and resize it.
This does not happen with tables and queries.

I use Version: 7.6.0.3 (X86_64). It was the same with
LibreOfficeDev_7.6.2.0.0_Win_x86-64.
I installed the previous version 7.5.5. The problem remains, although this
version worked in the past.

Did Microsoft change something in a Windows update lately or did a Windows
update not function correctly on my PC?
Another program recently updated had a monitor problem too. With this one using
a previous version worked.
My other programs work all without problems, even the ones updated around the
same time as LibreOffice.

The problem does not occur in Writer or Calc.

As I pointed in other bugs, Collabora for Android still has 21.11 as stable,
but 23.05 has snaphsots at
https://www.collaboraoffice.com/downloads/Collabora-Office-Android-Snapshot/
and will soon be released.
That is not the topic of this issue, but good to know.

Say OFFSET2() [or OFFSET.E() or similar] has an additional parameter in the
first place behind the "Reference R".
This parameter should be specified "Integer SheetOffset" and have the expected

An actual bug shown in the example the bug reporter attached may be that the

But this is also the case if $Sheet1.$A$3:$A$19 is used explicitly.
