[Bug 160080] New: Bad punctuation compression for CJK texts with vertical text direction
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=160080 Bug ID: 160080 Summary: Bad punctuation compression for CJK texts with vertical text direction Product: LibreOffice Version: 24.2.1.2 release Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: LibreOffice Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: ni...@live.cn Description: This is a bug about the typesetting engine. I cannot find any suitable “Component”, so I just selected "LibreOffice". This is a bug for all LibreOffice application (writer, impress, draw,...) == 1. When one line is nearly full and the typesetting engine wants to compress one line, the compression between other symbols and “「”(open quote), “」”(closed quote) is bad https://postimg.cc/Pp7jhn23 The compression should move open quotes further down and move closed quotes more upward to make the quotes getting close to quoted texts. But the quotes is too far away from the quoted texts. The open quote and the closed quote at the second line even merged into one. https://postimg.cc/QFSHj96p BTW, with horizontal text direction, it seems OK. https://postimg.cc/bGyTCt5W 2. When one line is loose, “(” and “)” is too away from quoted texts. https://postimg.cc/f3MVY7Pt Also, with horizontal text direction, it seems OK. https://postimg.cc/NKsyH7Sy Steps to Reproduce: 1. Go to “Options -> Languages and Locales -> Asian Layout”, select “Character Spacing -> Compress punctuation only”, press “OK”. 2. Download and install I.Ming font. 3. Set format: A5 paper, I.Ming font, 22pt font-size, “Right-to-left (vertical)” text direction. 4. ``` Actual Results: See “Description”。 Expected Results: See “Description”。 Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes Additional Info: Version: 24.2.1.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: db4def46b0453cc22e2d0305797cf981b68ef5ac CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 17763; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win Locale: zh-CN (zh_CN); UI: en-GB Calc: CL threaded -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

My first reaction was: Ctrl + A -> Delete is different to Ctrl + A -> Ctrl + X. This feels inconsistent (also with the Writer behaviour), but I some users' workflows might rely on a way to modify all cells without affecting objects... However, as you noticed, we've got two ways to remove things in Calc (whereas Writer does not seem to make the distinction): - Delete: directly removes cell contents - Backspace (same as "Clear Contents" in context menu): offers a dialog. The default removes text, date & time, comments, numbers, formulas - which matches what Delete does. But one can pick and choose what gets deleted, and can delete absolutely everything with one tick of a box. Options are remembered, so it's then easy to Backspace + Enter. (In reply to jollytall from comment #0) > It has a strange side-effect, that if a sheet is Ctrl-A, Ctrl-C and another > sheet is also Ctrl-A, Ctrl-V then the objects on the target sheet remain > there. It think this has to be the case, as the objects are two separate elements, with different names assigned to them, as can be seen in the navigator. One can't expect LO to replace an object just because it is of same type and is anchored to the same cell. And a single cell can have as many objects anchored to it as we desire. Paste Special gives a large number of options to decide exactly what is pasted. It's different for cell contents, as it is straight-forward to understand the model of pasting cell contents over others at the same coordinates. So leaning towards "resolved - not a bug", but set back to "unconfirmed" if you still think something needs changing. Copying the UX/Design team in just in case. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Bug 160011] Hidden columns should not prevent text from preceding columns from overflowing over their cells
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=160011 --- Comment #11 from m_a_riosv --- I think the main issue about changing the behavior is the modification of the display for existing documents, without any warning to the user. IMO, the possible performance problems are surely solvable, because it seems that the cases where you need to modify the display are limited to show hide column(s). Perhaps it could be a concern, if the cells of the hidden columns were massively modified by macro. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

Yes, I've tested it and can confirm now that it's how it is at the moment. Someone mentioned before that it would be more difficult than suffixes, but how cool would it be if a user could "tell" the program to treat a particular non-space separator [e.g. comma] like a space. Or maybe is there such space separator already? Something other than comma? (But TBH comma is placed in a very convenient spot on the keyboard...) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=160070 Buovjaga changed: What|Removed |Added Status|UNCONFIRMED |NEEDINFO Ever confirmed|0 |1 CC||ilmari.lauhakangas@libreoff ||ice.org --- Comment #2 from Buovjaga --- Do you have the Yrsa font installed? I don't and it falls back to some other font and exported PDF is fine. You are running an old version which does not have the fixes for bug 104403 and bug 121327. The only remaining special case would be bug 105488 "Support multi-colored fonts using SVG table". [Bug 159800] Chart data link is lost when copying/duplicating a sheet with a comma in the name

Should it happen again, I will report separately. 2, I reported a low priority issue on this. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
[Bug 160072] New: Inconsistent handling of objects on Calc sheets
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=160072 Bug ID: 160072 Summary: Inconsistent handling of objects on Calc sheets Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.5.5.2 release Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: minor Priority: medium Component: Calc Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: jollyt...@freemail.hu It is not clear how and when objects (like charts, formula objects) are linked to the actual sheet they appear on. One would expect that either an object is "part" of the sheet, or it should be totally independent. In the current implementation it is mixed. When on a sheet everything is selected (e.g. clicking on the rectangle next to A1, or Ctrl-A) then objects are included in the selection. So, when the selection is pasted on another sheet, the objects go with it. Similarly, when the full selection is cut into the clipboard (Ctrl-X) then all cells AND the objects are removed. However, when all is selected and deleted (either with Del, or with right-mouse Delete...) then the objects remain on the - otherwise empty - sheet. It has a strange side-effect, that if a sheet is Ctrl-A, Ctrl-C and another sheet is also Ctrl-A, Ctrl-V then the objects on the target sheet remain there. So, when e.g. a sheet with fresh data or changed formulas are copied again and again onto the same other sheet, on top of each others many copies of the object might appear. It seems that Ctrl-A, right-mouse Clear Contents... might have a solution to the problem, because there objects can be checked or unchecked for deletion. I would recommend to always do the same for copy, cut, delete and overwrite-with-paste. Either the objects need to be copied/deleted separately (manually), or they are always moved with the sheet and no multiple copies can appear. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
