Versions are published on F-Droid as well, but there's currently an infra/connectivity issue causing the F-Droid build to fail, see https://gitlab.com/fdroid/fdroiddata/-/merge_requests/14775#note_1843871640 . [Bug 74206] large autocorrect lists: typing in 'Replace' field is slower than 'With' field
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=74206 --- Comment #14 from QA Administrators --- Dear tommy27, To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year. There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If you have time, please do the following: Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. Please DO NOT Update the version field Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker) Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case) If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ 2. Test your bug 3. Leave a comment with your results. 4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo'; 4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: https://web.libera.chat/?settings=#libreoffice-qa Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone! https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=160792 --- Comment #5 from m_a_riosv --- I think the problem stems from the fact that you are not using the styles to get the table of contents, nor are you applying them to the numbering, which you seem to have done by direct formatting using the icons in the bar. You are going to have to study a little bit the Writer documentation that I indicated in comment #2. On page 13 it tells you how to modify the character style of the list. You can also do the query at https://ask.libreoffice.org/c/spanish/10 Translated with www. [Bug 160791] Missing keyboard shortcuts for text formatting.
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=160791 --- Comment #2 from vena.c...@virgin.net --- I did not know that about custom shortcuts, and I have been using OpenOffice for years. Most users probably do not know about custom shortcuts. Nevertheless, built in strike-through and underline shortcuts would be useful. Double-underline has a shortcut, but single underline does not, so this seems to be inconsistent and illogical. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

That is, the 'Background Color' TB button opens the common color picker displaying the active palette (usually 'Standard'). And across the bottom is a swatch bar with the 12 most 'Recent' colors across the UI (so not just current Calc session). What is not obvious, is that for any cell on the sheet selected, launching the 'Background Color' picker's button link to the 'Custom color...' dialog will show the bg color of the cell. Likewise for the 'Font Color' picker's link to 'Custom color...' where dialog will show the fg color for font in the cell. Between the two, it is trivial to match colors for those occasions when the 12 swatch recent bar is insufficient, a textual copy/paste of the RGB. Not quite dropper style, and could be enhanced to pass RGBA values back to the Recent swatch bar for bg fill or fg text. [Bug 160799] FORMATTING UI [Accessibility] Eyedropper to select previously used background color
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=160799 --- Comment #1 from ady --- Without relation to the eyedropper request, there is a way to copy the background color of a cell from the "format cell" dialog, where you can see the RGB/HEX values. There is also a way to copy the font color from the "font color > custom color" dialog. Of course there is the possibility of a simple copy format (clone) a cell, which includes those properties. Sure, an eyedropper feature might be simpler for users. I am just pointing out that there are alternatives available (as oppose to being some random try-and-error iteration attempts). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Bug 159950] Offer to download missing fonts from relevant online sources (dynamically, after installation)
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=159950 Eyal Rozenberg changed: What|Removed |Added Summary|Offer to download & install |Offer to download missing |missing fonts from online |fonts from relevant online |sources |sources (dynamically, after ||installation) --- Comment #9 from Eyal Rozenberg --- (In reply to V Stuart Foote from comment #8) > Neither the project nor TDF can host fonts of questionable license. Agreed, but this bug doesn't suggest hosting fonts. Rather, it's about allowing the download of fonts from known, stable, 3rd-party sources. > Nor can > we police the Intellectual Property rights of how LibreOffice is used. Also agreed, but I don't believe I suggested we do that. > But we don't want to "poison" LibreOffice with unlicensed or illegal font > bundling. Again - this bug is not about bundling :-( I am not suggesting we bundle more stuff. Let me try to clarify this in the phrasing of the title. In fact, if anything, this may allow for a reduction in the number of bundled fonts. > I've > suggested a TDF commissioned metric equivalent to Aptos under SIL Open Font > License, host it for download and bundle it into LibreOffice. A fine suggestion, which is mostly orthogonal to this bug. I mentioned Aptos as an example of a font which users may like to have LibreOffice download when they encounter it in a document - providing that this is possible license-wise and availablility-wise, with a legit source. But if we can't do this for Aptos - we can still do it for many other fonts. > Otherwise facilitating access to "cloud hosted" or "centralized" (e.g. on > premise) font repositories with dynamic font loading, and optional install > to user profile, is a needed feature. Hmm... that would be useful as well. So, LO as bundled could have several publicly-accessible font download sources, which could be searched when an unavailable font is encountered; but this list could be made user-extensible, with a URL of a font repository which an organization might offer/configure (or an individual user if they have access to one). How does that sound? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=160764 V Stuart Foote changed: What|Removed |Added Status|NEW |RESOLVED Resolution|--- |DUPLICATE --- Comment #10 from V Stuart Foote --- Oh crud! How'd I miss the persistent category tracking for all the categories done for bug 145132 at 7.3 [1] all still set with true defaults as currently refactored [2]. So the per content category context menu "tracking" toggle is toggled enabled by default when inserting new Sections. And verified the attachment 193805 sample document 2 has it set, also that when I toggle it off, the Heading category navigation behaves with no jump into the encompassing section. Also verified that if toggled disabled, newly inserted sections observe the persistent toggle disabled. In addition to the context menu toggle, the Navigator "SectionTracking" value can be set via Expert Configuration, or manually edited in the LO registrymodifications.xcu at: false Sorry for the noise Jim, * =-ref-= [1] https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/c/core/+/122874 [2] https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/c/core/+/129981 *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 144817 *** -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
[Bug 160799] New: FORMATTING UI [Accessibility] Eyedropper to select previously used background color
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=160799 Bug ID: 160799 Summary: FORMATTING UI [Accessibility] Eyedropper to select previously used background color Product: LibreOffice Version: unspecified Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: medium Component: Calc Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: trenttompk...@gmail.com In the box that lets you select the background color of a cell, it would be nice if there was an eyedropper icon that you could click, that would select the existing background color of a cell (this could apply to font color too). I'm not colorblind, and even I have trouble differentiating between multiple shades of green to pick the exact same green I used before. I can see that it is wrong after I pick it, but then I have to pick it again. For someone who is actually colorblind trying to work on an existing file made by someone else and keep consistent colors. I thought maybe the eyedropper was just missing from the drop down because it isn't a modal, so the default behavior is to close when someone clicks outside it. But even the Custom Color screen doesn't have that option. So, I would add the change by: Adding an eyedropper icon to the background color dropdown. When clicked, it closes the dropdown and turns the users cursor into an eyedropper. After they click a cell, the selected background color becomes the background color of whatever cell they clicked and the cursor reverts to normal. And that's it. And maybe give the option to blind that to a shortcut key, so if you like hit CTRL+B, your cursor turns into an eyedropper, and the next cell you click, it will 'suck up' its background color. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Bug 160350] Replies to comment are in reverse order
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=160350 --- Comment #17 from Justin L --- (In reply to Timur from comment #15) > Separately, please explain that all "replies" are replies of a top comment > and never a reply to a reply. The only thing that suggests you have "replied to a reply" is some free-form answer-text that says 'Reply to xyz (04/23/2024, 09:29): "..."' However, that answer-text is NOT composed by the actions of hitting the reply button (FN_REPLY) and there is NOTHING in the comment itself that points to the comment that you think you replied to. INSTEAD, the answer-text is composed during its first LAYOUT, and is compiled FROM THE COMMENT IT FOLLOWS. This all happens long after the comment has been created. The internals of the comment indicate that its ParentPostItId is the top level comment - which is why the navigator shows only two levels of comments. Therefore, when I changed "MoveCaret" to move the reply to the end of the thread instead of the beginning of the thread, the answer-text "replied" to the second-last comment instead of the first comment. In other words, the entire comment design is based on the assumption that replies go to the top of the thread. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Bug 159950] Offer to download & install missing fonts from online sources
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=159950 --- Comment #8 from V Stuart Foote --- Neither the project nor TDF can host fonts of questionable license. Nor can we police the Intellectual Property rights of how LibreOffice is used. But we don't want to "poison" LibreOffice with unlicensed or illegal font bundling. "Free" or "Available" have to be kept at arms length. Why I've suggested a TDF commissioned metric equivalent to Aptos under SIL Open Font License, host it for download and bundle it into LibreOffice. Otherwise facilitating access to "cloud hosted" or "centralized" (e.g. on premise) font repositories with dynamic font loading, and optional install to user profile, is a needed feature. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Bug 160798] New: Heads of arrows that were converted to contours become double head when exporting to MS Office
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=160798 Bug ID: 160798 Summary: Heads of arrows that were converted to contours become double head when exporting to MS Office Product: LibreOffice Version: 24.2.2.2 release Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Impress Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: rolan...@free.fr Description: When exporting a document (here an Impress presentation) to MS Office (here in PowerPoint 2016), if arrows were converted to contours, then their heads become double in PowerPoint (see attached screenshot). Moreover, this seems to appear only when the line thickness is 0. And when the line thickness is not zero, the arrow head don't have the right size, they are too big. I did tests in Impress and PowerPoint (or Draw), but I guess the issue will be in Writer and Word too. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create a blank presentation in Impress and insert an arrow somewhere 2. Select the arrow and convert it to contour (not curve or any another format) 3. Save the presentation to test.odp and convert it to PowerPoint 2007-365 .pptx format. 4. Open the test.pptx file in PowerPoint and check that the arrow has a double head Actual Results: The arrow has a double head in PowerPoint. Expected Results: In PowerPoint, the arrow should have the same shape and size as in Impress. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes Additional Info: If the arrow has a thickness > 0, then there is no double head, but a single bigger head in PowerPoint. I did the tests with fresh LibreOffice profile. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

Essentially a question to developers (adding a button next to "Archive User Profile" is simple). I wonder how to deal with renamed, removed, added attributes. Probably to ignore it. [Bug 160797] New: File / Export, Export as, Send, Preview in Web browser .... AND: "Generate" ... or
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=160797 Bug ID: 160797 Summary: File / Export, Export as, Send, Preview in Web browser AND: "Generate" ... or Product: LibreOffice Version: 24.8.0.0 alpha0+ Master Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: j...@cspv.hu hi, This is an old thing... Send / "Email (this) document" Send / "Send via Bluetooth" both make sens... Whereas: Send / "Outline to clipboard" ... ... is like asking someone at a dining table to send you the salt, or offering someone that you'd send a coffee is she liked... meaning you'd make one for her.. #1 - - - - So, how about "Generate"? I mean, this is what happens, when you "send" the outline to the clipboard in use... Imagine: File / Generate / "Create Master Document" compare it to: File / Send / "Create Master Document" #2 - - - - I guess, the only thing that keeps "send" in place is that programmers like to use it... in terms of outputs and inputs... for them, it makes sense... "Send: Outline to Clipboard" is a valid sentence for them Moreover, Generate would sound clumsy here: File / Generate / "Outline to Clipboard" cause it would require a longer second part: Generate: outline -- and "send it" -- to clipboard... ... #3 - - - - Maybe, "Output" would be a better solution... but Output: outline to clipboard... even though it makes sense... "out" appears twice... making it confuse... #4 - - - - okay: how about adding a new menu item: "Email" :) and put all email stuff under it? then the meaning of "send" wouldn't be ambiguous! :) But then send to Mediwwiki and send via bluetooth would be odd... and if you out them under "send", we would have the exact situation as now... #5 - - - - Maybe: instead of Generate, "Create" would actually work... Would it? I admit, this really is tough... -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Bug 160795] New: "Title" and "heading" to be recognized as "section title" --- a higher level of heading, a "Heading 0"
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=160795 Bug ID: 160795 Summary: "Title" and "heading" to be recognized as "section title" --- a higher level of heading, a "Heading 0" Product: LibreOffice Version: 24.8.0.0 alpha0+ Master Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: j...@cspv.hu hi, I'm not sure if I can elucidate this properly... But I'm talking about working with sections... and headings... of which "Heading 1" is the top level one... With one document, just like with HTML documents, "Heading 1" (aka "h1") is the highest level... But as soon as we're working on a book, a new "unit" comes into play.. which is higher level than "heading 1"... i.e. higher than a chapter... We have a name for that: "Section" But when you edit the book, the highest heading that is recognized as a heading, is heading 1... nothing above it... So, while you can make WRITER to recognize the "Heading 1" titles, and display it "in the top of the page"*, you can't do that with Title or heading. No "heading 1" variants are recognized, either, like, "heading 1 - this section"... I guess, what I'm talking about is just an "under the hood" thing... Cause basically nothing should be changed, only the way the program behaves... in terms of recognizing Heading 1 -- this section as a "heading 1" heading... and recognizing a "Title" or a "heading" heading as a "heading 0" heading... sorry for the ambiguity of this idea :( ___ * I didn't want to use the h-word, as it would have interfered with heading :) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Bug 150839] View layout has no alternative access method
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=150839 --- Comment #10 from Eyal Rozenberg --- A little bike-shedding by the author of the dupe bug (i.e. me): * I agree that this should be in a submenu of the View menu. * I think "pages" is not a good submenu title. It's as though you're supposed to choose whether to view pages; or which pages to view. Perhaps something like "multi-page layout" or "Layout of pages" or "Viewport layout" or "Page placement". None of these are great, maybe you have a better idea * I think the item titles should be a little more descriptive than with the bottom toolbar, because we don't have the icons to illustrate. So maybe "Single page per row", "Multiple pages per row" and "Book view". -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
