A note: Out of curiosity I started Calc (in Normal Mode)and Spell Checker detected Spanish and worked fine. Latest news! In Normal Mode now, I re-checked Writer settings and Default Language for Documents was not set to any (It has been set to Spanish for years). I re-set to Spanish.
