Appreciate your dedication. The Simplified flavor of tool- or notebookbar looks
nice, but I doubt many would use it. Ultimately you can already configure it.
The Tabbed notebookbar modification would be a great improvement, though I'm
personally on the plain header group. And stacked tabs are somewhat awkward. In
the end it's quite a huge effort implementing this cross-platform.

1. Here it shows a minimal menu in textedit in mac-os - you can see in the
youtube video: "Using TextEdit For Casual Word Processing (MacMost Now 379)" -

2. this video references the idea I mentioned here of having a minimal menu

Minimal Toolbar is a nice idea and can be added as an extension, from my point
of view.

I can offer you help by doing it. There is also an blog post from Heiko on how
to edit notebookbar files, but I don't know where.

welcome page, yes nice idea, but tbh the benefit of a "redesign" from the

Personalization: if we would have color scheme support, we would use it, but it
only use the colors from the OS / Desktop Environment

I think there is somewhere an theme engine (done for iOS), but never used it.

 Notes:
1. It's just some visual suggestions or improvements I wanted to implement in
LibreOffice.
2. The previous bars are not bad, what I present here is just one more option,
one more user freedom, so to speak, for him (the user) to decide how to
customize LibreOffice in addition to the previous menu bars.
3. When you hover the cursor over the minimal bar menu, the area where the
cursor is is blue, highlighting the clickable menu, something that already
happens in previous menu bars.
4. It is possible to reposition the minimal bar menu, considering that the menu
can be fixed or not. That is, I can position the menu left or right - ie
side(left), side(right) or I can position up or down. The default option is for
the menu to be fixed upwards as shown in the photo.
5. The option to remove or add an icon is something that comes with some
previous menu bars, here in the minimal bar we take advantage of this same
feature, so the user can choose which icons are in the minimal menu bar.
6. In the minimal menu bar it is possible to rearrange the context menu, that
menu that appears when you right-click in the document area.
7. It is possible to arrange the shortcut keys or events in the minimal menu
bar.

(subtitle: R = response)

This could be applied in which LibreOffice programs?
R- This could be applied in Writer, Calc, Impress, Draw, Math, Base.

Are you charging any cost, license for this idea, design?
R- No, it's free, open.

Is it your own?
R- Yes in theory, so there may be people who have already thought the same. In
fact, I did some research and some users have thought of something like this in
LibreOffice in the past, but I haven't found any ui - user interface material
that demonstrates this idea. So, part of this idea is mine and part of it is
the users, it's an initial and draft idea. However, I believe it is somehow
innovative, different and unique.

How did you create the user interface?
R- Figma, Kiss.

It would not be necessary to make a new interface, it would only be necessary
to use the existing code, the only difference is that it would have a slide
from left to right.

The minimal slash interface would be a great experience for mac users using
software called textedit or people who know things like google docs.

Hey guys,
Thank you very much for the comments, I will clarify all doubts now.

So this would be the minimal interface, in the minimal interface you would only
have the most common buttons, I was inspired by Google Docs and I wanted to
have something similar in LibreOffice, whoever came from Google Docs could
really like LibreOffice Writer with this user interface option . It is very
similar to existing user interfaces like Single Bar, Compact Bar, Compact
Grouped Bar, Contextual Bar. Well the difference would be these 3:

The minimal bar or minimal toolbar is a bar with the following characteristic:
it is a menu bar grouped in a compact, unique and contextual way. It seems to
be something strange, but my idea is to take these previous ideas, or rather
join the concepts of Single Bar, Compact Grouped Bar, Contextual Bar, Single
Contextual Bar in a new and unique concept. This would be similar to the bar
you see in Google Docs when you are editing a document.
The second feature that is very interesting is that it has a slide to the left
and to the right, this is necessary to display all the menu icons always on the
side. My idea here would be that the user would not need access to the above
menu, he would only access the icons to perform his work normally. I think this
would be a great alternative, given that some icons users are familiar with
such as the text formatting icon etc. In addition, it is noticed that the user
could focus only on the icons he needs to perform his work normally or better
to format his text in the best possible way. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe I'm right
somehow this would be my preferred user interface because it's similar to
Google Docs which is something I usually use when I need to share a specific
document or when most people call me to edit something on the web.
I tried to focus on the KISS idea - “Keep It Simple, Stupid” i.e. “Keep
something easy, simple” in terms of design.
Another innovation, different from the previous bars is that here you could
remove the icons, customize the way you think it's interesting, of course this
would be an option to customize the minimum bar, by default this minimal bar
would be as shown in the photo. However, if the user wants to change, he would
have this option.

I recommend to start with a use case ("I want to achieve by doing .
And hinders me because of ."). It's also very important to remember
the requirements (missing many features of the start center). And last but not
least it would be good to compare ideas with existing suggestions (see bug
125823 and in particular bug 125217 for personalization). In case of the
"Minimal Toolbar" I wonder what the difference is to the "Single Toolbar"
variant.

You are welcome to join the design meeting to discuss the ideas in person, see

These are huge undertakings and individual projects on their own, which merit
separate discussions, rationales and planning. (I am quite fond of the Start
Center one — Poedit and Xcode have implemented similar UIs to what you are
proposing.)

I think your ideas are valid, but need fleshing out in individual enhancement
requests; therefore I’m closing this bug as it doesn’t conform to the “one bug
per request” principle :)

Please do feel free to develop these ideas in a personal page (i.e. user
subpage) at wiki.documentfoundation.org; once they’re ready, file new bugs for
each (instead of one ticket attempting to track everything). Oh, and of course
do continue to interact with the Design Team on Telegram/IRC.

Thanks!
